r3 3300x 16gigs ddr4 gtx 1650 b550m
already did ddu with this driver https://www.nvidia.com/download/driverResults.aspx/190552/en-us/
What settings are you generally running your games at?
usually everything on max that will give me 60+fps everything that gives me lower than 50 fps on max I play on lower settings
tho I dont play very performance hungry games I just play payday 2, csgo, war thunder, dont starve together,
unturned when im bored and GTA
Have you updated your drivers lately aside from DDUing the graphics driver?
Was that through AMD adrenaline?
amd website
Hmm, never seen that before
ill try it trough adrenalin
k
do i install everything or?
yeah
k
i have installed amd drivers
i have tried to launch war thunder and it black screened
but it restarted on its own now
K
it appears that windows updates had some errors so they didnt download
i will download them and update you if i still get blackscreens
also
my gpu fans have a weird buzzing noise
Do they still spin?
Should be fine as long as they still cool the card
they do
K
the noise isnt the problem but the problem is if it dies cuz i had the same issue with a fan in my old laptop it was buzzing and it died
Just keep an eye on it, and if it does die, its an excuse to upgrade to a 2060 super or something
i mean if it dies i will just RMA and on the summer break will probably upgrade to maybe 3070 ti or RTX 4070 ti if the prices fall
Max your CPU can handle is a 2060 Super, so if you want to go 30 or 40 series, you will have to upgrade your CPU as well
well i was wondering to get a 7 5800x3d or 9 5900 or just sell the cpu and the mother board and go intel
I have a 7 3700X and it handles a 5600XT pretty well
Got it from my dad, who had it paired with a 3080
the payday 2 has been running for like an hour without blackscreen so its good for now
K, so it was just out of date drivers
damn thats nice
Yeah
maybe
Hopefully
after the windows update if the there are any more blackscreens I will just RMA
I would keep this thread open just in case anything else comes up
yep
idk maybe its the motherboard PCIe problem
because when I first got a blackscreen I re installed the gpu in the PCIe slot and it worked
for a bit
i have one available slot shall I try that if the windows update dosent fix it
The bottom slot is slower
I think how it works in the top slot is X16, the bottom slot is X8 or something like that
one site says that on the bottom is an full length X4 slot and the versus says that is the X16 PCIe 3.0 slot
wait i have a question that isnt on the topic of this thread
if i wanted to make a minecraft server or a server for a game do i need a gpu for that
I'm not into server stuff, so idk
What motherboard is it?
The bottom slot is a X4, according to the manual
The top slot is the only X16 on the motherboard
damn
Those updates finished?
k
danm
how many watts is the power supply you run?
it could be your graphics card not being able to output video because you’re at max wattage after launching a game
650W
and the TDP of the gpus is only 75W
this might sound weird but you should try reseating your gpu
thats what was wrong with my pc when i was having the same issue
well that was the first thing that I did
maybe if I make the pc lay on its side?
and reseat the gpu again maybe it will work
@lilac junco @unreal ice i might have found an issue
Yeah, that'll do it
Not much left of that black wire
I'm surprised that didn't trip a breaker
i have second psu cable the "broken one" is rated for 10A-16A and 250V the second one is rated for 10A 250V
should I still use the second calbe
damn now that i see that the black wire isnt isolated now im not sure to buy more stuff from that store
yeah
as long as it isn't damaged its fine
well that tidint work
and the gpu will ramp up the fans to 80-100% when it black screens
well the windows update is sutck like this
for like the past 10min
Is it showing a restart button anywhere?
Try restarting the computer
the fan would spin but its trying to spin
the power button is un responsive
do i just switch the power supply switch
Did you press and hold the power button?
still holding it
Yeah, use the switch
the cpu fan tried to spin
trying to power it back on now?
BSoD or just black screen?
now is in recovery mode
Ok, tell it to boot to windows and see what it does
sadly not
Damn
what part is needed
Not sure
well from blackscreening in games to blackscreeneng when the browser starts up
But I'm guessing it may be a power supply
it is a white power supply
Corsair?
the old power supply color
this color
there are no marking on the psu
from the back panel side
sould i just leave it for the RMA or try to see if there are marking on the other side
@lilac junco
I gtg afk for a bit sadly
Take it out and see if there are markings on it
overvoltage might be the issue the psu is rated for AC 230V and the cable is 250V
never heard of the company in my life
I haven't either
I would have a local computer repair store test it, but I'm guessing that right there is your issue
I would keep it in here just in case anyone else has any insight on this
'Night
well the cable needs to be 10A-16A
for the pc to actually be stable in the os
never mind the thing isnt stable at all
ill see if i have any multimeter s in my house or if neighbours have one to see if its undervolting
no fucking way that the god damn problem was that the 4pin cpu and 24pim motherboard cables were not seated correctly
well thanks guys for help @lilac junco @unreal ice
Really? Huh, dunno How we missed that.
No problem!
well
No more black screens?
cool for helping
do you have any recommendations for pc fans cuz i dont have any in my case
@lilac junco
Not really
I've heard good things about Noctua though
also the pc crashed again and I reseated the cpu and it works fine tho i didnt tested it in games
and took one ram stick out
actually i tested the game but i dont remember if it crashed again with one ram stick and a reseated cpu
ok so after some tests i have concluded that is either a motherbard/cpu ram controler problem or the ram stick is causing the issue so i started a windows memory diagnostics tool
idk how but
Hi, out-of-ballpark-question, but is the outlet grounded?? My mom's PC had huge and very weird problems when this was not the case..
And if you want to use a PC for a Minecraft server and connect from anothr, you don't need more than onboard gfx.. Minecraft server is command line..
You do need a decent amount of memory tho..
Don't worry about the powercord, it is rated to handle 10 to 16A and 250V max, those are limits, not what the powercord actually delivers.. 🙂
the outlet is grounded, is gt 1030 enough and is 16gigs enough for a Minecraft server, thats good to know. thanks
also im 99% sure that this stick in B2 slot is faulty cuz i tested with 16gigs after 10min it will blackscreen with a faulty stick in B2 and A2 slots it will blackscreen after 1-2min of driving around in a roblox game
with a stick that was originally in A2 slot its stable and it can go 40+ min in games without blackscreen
Ok so replace it and use memtest86
Instead of windows tool
And test that stick only and let it run 4 passes
do install only the faulty stick or with both sticks
Faulty stick only
And run the memtest
Cost some time so could be it takes 2 hours
It goes through all possibilities of the ram like 0 and 1 ‘s
do i really need an usb stick cuz i dont have a sing usb stick and not sure if there are any stores open to this time that sell usb sticks
Yes
Or maybe the motherboard has a build in memtest86
Some do not all
Just checj within the bios
ok
If that’s not the case it’s usb stick time 🕰️
where specificly in bios to look
cant i use this
UNetBootin
with this you make a partition on your ssd/hdd and you can choose from which partiton to boot
wanted to use this on my old laptop to see how would it be to run ubuntu cuz my old laptop would sometimes struggle with win10
and now the ssd from my laptop is in this pc and im to lazy to remove this
this pc is cursed
the not faulty stick started blackscreaning
You may just want to take the entire thing into a computer repair store and have them look at it
well i do have warranty on the all components except the boot ssd
does the motherboard chipset have anything to do with memory control
I think so, but don't quote me on that
when it blackscreens it heats up just barely
well i will reset the pc to factory settings maybe that helps
well the blackscreen is still there but my storage issue isnt
after a minute of blackscreening the chip heats up for roughly 5°c but take it with the grain of salt
what if its a boot drive
Does the computer still display a black screen if you alt+tab out of the game window?
Some games fuck with the resolution of the monitor (specifically valve games) so if your monitor doesn't support the resolution it's being told to run at it could display no signal
pc is unresponsive when it blackscreens and when i log in to pc it blackscreens
the monitor(tv) is rated to 1920x1080
60fps
Right, but some valve games start at a much lower resolution until the settings ingame are fixed.
Though I doubt this is the issue so I'll shut up
have any idea if a x16 or x8 card work in a x4 slot
They do work in those slots but they will not have as much bandwidth as they would with an x16 (So slower basically)
than ill test if the x16 slot is broken
are there any latches or things to secure usb 3.2 front io cable
or is it tough to remove
I don't think there are any standard usb A or usb C cables that have locking abilities so its probably just tough
talking abt this cable
ahhh, no there shouldn't be any locks on that one
It is always tough to remove
Just be sure to pull straight out, and maybe support the motherboard so you don't bend it too much
You can wiggle it a little bit, but no more than like, 2-3 degrees?
yeah 2-3°
Should be okay
damn the most hellish port to disconnect
Honestly
i have good news and bad news
i managed to boot into bios
when i booted into the system it wont display
do i need to do anything in bios to make the gpu "compatible" with a x4 slot
I'm sorry I kind of walked into the middle of the conversation today, and there are over 200 messages that I don't necessarily want to read to get caught up.
Could you give a quick summary about what the issue is and what you have tried?
no problem
Also some motherboards have a BIOS setting where you need to tell it which PCIE slot is the default one.
Also check to make sure that it's actually enabled in bios, it may be using integrated graphics (if you have them)
you can quickly check to see if that is the case by plugging your display into your motherboard
i wanted to play a game and the pc blackscreened, tried restarting same issue, tried drivers and updateds same issue, tried reseating the gpu it worked for a 30min, tried re seating the cables again got 30min of playing and same issue, tried reseating the cpu and switching ram.it work ed for 30min, again tried the ram no help, again tried the cpu no help, tried the boot drive when it started blackscreening in windows couldnt install the windows on the D drive, and before that tried reseating the cpu again also no help, and now the x4 slot
also i can see through the termal paste the word ryzen on my cpu is that weird with termal paste or normal
This was right after you removed the CPU cooler?
No, you only need to screw it in when you're finished working on it.
found the PCIe slot thing
also forgot to say that i tried all combinations with all 4 ram slots
^^
Yeah that looks fairly normal.
Was that preapplied thermal paste?
Looks like a little more could be used to get those outside edges filled in.
Ah
tho i do have cooler master thermal paste
Yeah you'll need to reapply that when/if you ever get it running again.
But for now that should be fine for testing
i dont have any ethenol or medical gasoline to remove thermal paste
You can eventually work it off with just elbow grease
It just takes a lot more effort
Not sure if that would really help as it's grease, but I was just talking about dry paper towels.
Acetone may work, I'd google it though to make sure it's safe for CPU
i have "cotton pads" and i would use destiled water just for lubrication or something like that if you understand me
Yeah you can definitely give it a go, but we're not at that step yet.
So the only thing changed since last time is the BIOS PCIE slot setting?
that
and i swaped places of memory sticks
the faulty one is now in place of the working one and im using only the faulty stick
so only 8gb of ram
ill install the drivers now
because i didnt have time to install driver cause of blackscreens after i log in
Good luck
the same time after i clicked express installation it blackscreens
How long after you clicked?
A blackscreen is normal on driver installation for a little while
when i clicked
and the fans ramped up to 100%
the normal thing when it blackscreens
Right. Yeah I'm not sure then.
well custom installation with 16gigs seems to work as planned
blackscreened for the install
how it should
audio works
Any other issues so far?
except from the pain of logining into everysingle program no
and minecraft finally works
installation*
is there a way to disable microsoft edge
You can change your default browser to something else but no you can't disable edge.
can i use anything else for searchbar on windows
like if i click enter on something and it opens edge
I don't know about that one, but my gut answer is no
well it worked untill it stopped
if the cpu controls all components and motherboard controls where power goes might be those 2 the problem the conclusion for this is the fans try to spin and they wont spin they will try to spin or go back and forward 1° of rotation not that fast but fast
and the power button wont turn off the pc
i didnt see any artifacts tho
but before this
like 2 weeks before this the games stutter some times
the game and the whole pc audio
yeah thats probably possible
