#Pc turns off by itself for no reason, only the led light of fans and the fans spins

So i assembled my pc around August of 2021 with following parts
Gigabyte b550 gaming X
Ryzen 5 3600
Gtx 1660
16gb ram
450W crosshair psu
1 - 240gb nvme pcie 3.0
1- 1tb ssd
Near October 2022 i got a problem but when I went to service center of gigabyte they said and showed that it was working fine.
They did bios update, installed my cpu and ram's and kept it on for like 1hr with a video playing they used their own ssd to boot up windows as I didn't have mine there at the time.
I did a clean windows install and it was working fine and in about a month it suddenly turned off all fans keep spinning and lights up but mouse keyboard goes and monitor goes black with no signal.
After the pc turns off it will not turn back on for like 1-2 days.
When I press the power button fans starts spinning but nothing happens at all.
And sometimes when this random turn off starts it will keep happening again and again very frequently for which I just clean install windows again.
I have clean installed windows 10 and windows 11 as well even updated my bios to F15 for B550 Gaming X.
I had used the kms client key thing of windows 2-3 times after that I never bothered to do it as it was waste of an effort also idk if its relevant but if I did do the kms thing this problem would happen way earlier rather than it taking 1 month.
At this stage I am assuming the problem is with that kms client windows key thing I did but shouldn't it be gone when I do a clean install. If not then is there a way to remove it so I don't have to literally install windows almost every month.
Or is there some other issue that I am unaware of.
Oh forgot to mention that for me to use pc again I unplug everything like mouse keyboard hdmi mic etc frm motherboard back panel for 1-2 days, only and only after that can I access bios and do fresh windows install with via USB.

Thank you

Have you tried either getting a new psu?

#

When this happens does the psu even responds to anything?

#

Sounds like capacitors needing to be drained before restarting so best bet is psu or motherboard

#

So no this is not normal behaviour

#

When you try to reboot in those times does anything work at all?

ivory canopy
#

I tried with different psu as well doesn't work

noble warren
#

Replace motherboard

ivory canopy
#

The psu I tried a new one of gigabyte with same 450 watts when it was not turning on

#

It was same that fans would light up and spin with no other component working

noble warren
#

😂😂😂

#

Try a 650 a 700 watt one

ivory canopy
#

It's not the kms client thing right?

noble warren
#

It’s your psu being underpowered

ivory canopy
#

I checked wattage it only need barely 300watts

#

I checked wattage when I built it

#

Had basically no problem for over a year

#

I do have that psu tester as well it's working fine as well

#

I get your point that it might be capacitors but I want to be sure as I do think it might be the kms client cuz it does work around 20-30days properly after a clean windows install

#

Either ways thanks for the input

noble warren
#

Yeah great 👍🏻 in a perfect world with perfect psu

#

You are right but you forget about spikes , best bet is too still get a new psu

ivory canopy
#

I do have a ups with 1100watts as well tho won't that remove the spike problem

APC Back-UPS BX1100C-IN 1100VA / 660W, 230V, UPS System, An ideal Power Backup & Protection for Home Office, Desktop PC & Home Electronics https://amzn.eu/d/696Gu3C

#

Have this

noble warren
#

Great doesn’t help if the spikes originate from gpu still trips your psu

#

If the total power exceeds your pc due to overclocking ( boost speed) or due to cpu demanding more power

ivory canopy
#

I don't over clock neither xmp for ram

#

When i built pc i used one of those pc builder websites and showed me it would take 300 watts so I went for the 450 watts psu

#

I tried using new psu after the pc when off and wouldn't turn back on but it didn't turn back on even with a new psu

#

Also the tun off thing happens even when m just surfing internet with just 2-3 tabs on chrome

noble warren
#

Nothing running hot when it happens?

#

Say >80 degrees?

ivory canopy
#

Nop not at all everything at most at 55 tops

#

I barely touch 65 degrees when gaming

#

I don't do hardcore gaming

noble warren
#

Then your best bet would be a faulty motherboard capcitor

#

Capacitor *

ivory canopy
#

Since I have kept my pc with all cables removed I will try to do a new install and do the kms thing again

#

If it crashes again within a day it probs might be kms causing some error

noble warren
#

Once drained it allows you to run for a while until the same problem occurs

ivory canopy
#

Umm nop not really till install a fresh win

#

Sometimes I might get a couple of days without the random off and sometimes only couple of hrs

noble warren
#

But if you don’t install windows fresh what happens?

#

What do you see?

#

What msg does the pc tell you,

#

Error telling you?

ivory canopy
#

After 2-3 days it might start normally MIGHT or else it would start and turn off after couple of hours or within a few days

noble warren
#

Noted but once you turn it on and don’t reinstall windows?

ivory canopy
#

Yep exactly that it might turn on normally without a fresh reinstall

#

No errors

noble warren
#

So yeah that’s literally saying hardware issues

ivory canopy
#

The only thing will be the turn off will happen at a higher rate kinda

#

If I don't do a fresh install

noble warren
#

Ok, do it in the following order try to reinstall don’t use KMS.

#

If after 1-2 days nothing happens great 👍🏻

ivory canopy
#

It's a cycle of that 😂 driving me crazy

noble warren
#

Check crystaldiskinfo if anything is bad on your ssd or hdd. ? Don’t think it’s your ssd

ivory canopy
#

Kms client does get removed with fresh install right

noble warren
#

Next step is replace your psu with something stronger 600 watt. And or motherboard. That should fix your issue.

ivory canopy
#

Ssd seems fine they don't go over 45 48 degrees

#

I even tried installing windows on diff ssd and trying but no good

noble warren
#

And motherboard replacement

#

Because you my friend got faulty hardware

#

A pc not wanting to boot is before software even starts up

#

So no software’s involved

ivory canopy
#

But it did work for almost a year so how did it happen lol

noble warren
#

Hardware can break over time

#

Randomly ssd can fail due to amount of writes.

#

Your psu is not the best psu

ivory canopy
#

Can you suggest a better psu and mobo for me then for ryzen 5 3600 cpu and 1660 Gtx pls

#

I really don't want to spend a lot if I have to get new psu and mobo

#

Would you recommend me changing psu 1st and see if it fixes things and the mobo or vice versa?

#

Also anyways I will do a fresh install today maybe and do kms if it goes no signal in 1-2 days I will be confused af again 😂

noble warren
#

Remember things not turning on is electric

#

So hardware .

#

No OS change can help that

ivory canopy
#

Oh k

#

So which should I get 1st and try mobo or psu?

noble warren
#

Amazon has a return policy so best bet is to get a PSU. And see if anything weird happens in those 2 weeks.

#

Any C tier and higher would be sufficient
