Recently upgraded my pc's mobo, ram, processor and since I have been having this issue that starting games will just randomly restart my computer.

CPU: Ryzen 5700X
GPU: 980 ti
Motherboard: ASRock B550 Phantom
Ram: 40 GB 3200 16-20-20-40 (2x 16 GB sticks, 1x 8GB stick, speed and clocking matching)
PSU: 700 watt (previously had a 1200 watt that was a decade old so I got a new one)

This only happens when starting games that put load on my PC, the games range from Battlebit Remastered, Rust, to VRChat, or even Dwarf fortress.

Things I have attempted to resolve the issue in no particular order

  1. Replaced my PSU
  2. Reseated RAM (multiple attempts)
  3. Reseated GPU (multiple attempts)
  4. Tweaked my LLC (load line calibration) from auto to different levels, which I have gotten more stability but it still happens
  5. Reinstalled windows
  6. Ran virus scans which have come up clean
  7. Removed the 1x 8 gig stick of ram incase it was a faulty stick of causing conflicts
  8. Checked crash logs for windows (which are not being generated or are not useful)
  9. Made sure I had adequate cooling to ensure that it was not overheating issues.

At this point I'm at my wits end and could use some help trying to resolve this issue as it's just infuriating that it is still happening

Have you tried a different wall outlet & not using a power strip?

Yes

#

friend is saying ti might be bad cluster on SSD sd this pc is just upgraded parts every like 5 years or so to keep it going

#

I'll try to replace my SSD that might have the mad cluster on it and see where it goes from there

You can use CrystalDiskInfo to verify that

i dont see why you use 40gb of ram and not 32gb or 64gb? why 40 specifically?

Found a stick of RAM on the ground in the rain, tested it and it has no faults or anything with it

but I also removed it and the issue persisted
