Guys I'm so confused rn. I'm trying to decide whether to buy the Deepcool AK400 or Be Quiet! Pure Rock 2 FX.

The AK400 is rated at 220W and the Pure Rock 2 FX is rated for 150W.

What confuses me is that the Be Quiet actually has a deeper heatsink at 62mm versus the 45mm Ak400.

I'm inclined to go for the Be Quiet as the included fan is considerably quieter (on paper), but I don't want to be buying a worse cooler here.

Its the TDP that's throwing me here. Could Be Quiet Be underestimating it's capability or is Deepcools somehow a better heatsink whilst being smaller.

For context, I'm trying to cool a Ryzen 2700X.

Tbh, I don't think it is going to matter as much as you think. Sure, higher W means higher RPM/output. The only purpose it will serve is a heat sync with a fan. You have to take into account how your case is built. How many intake fans to exhaust fans do you have. In my opinion, you should have a balance of intake fans and exhaust fans. I wouldn't have more exhaust than intake. I'd have more intake than exhaust, hence always pushing more cool air into the case.

An AIO might perform a bit better than a solid block of metal with a fan attached to the square.

#

Unless it is liquid cooled.

#

Liquid cooling will always perform better.

It's also a lot more expensive

It is

#

But you'd have to look at the results it is performing.

#

You wouldn't hear as much noise.

#

Low temps

and water

#

or whatever fluid people use

#

Never made a liquid cooled build yet, so Idk lol

#

Depending on the CPU you have, won't really matter. I'm assuming you have a Ryzen 7 2700X?

#

Unless you are overclocking the CPU, I don't think you'll see a marginal difference in temps when comparing both coolers.

#

Its a matter of preference. Whatever you like, whatever is cheaper, whatever might perform better in your perspective is totally up to you.

Ryzen 2700x is rated for 105 watts/tdp. So either is more as sufficient, it’s just an esthetic and price call at this point
