#How am I supposed to remove these motherboard power cables?

I personaly use pair of pliers.
Grab the locking mechanism release it and the other grippy pliers to pull it out gently when the locking mechanism doesnt lock already and its a bit off than i take both grab it firmly and pull out
I have stupid rog case and had the same issue
I'll see if I can find some pliers. But idk. The top of the clip goes in towards the cable, right?
Yes
Why does everything have to be so compact and difficult? This is the exact reason I never open my PC
Especially that first image at the top of my case. Who's hand can fit there?
Buy bigger better atx case replace problem solved xD
Only option there rly
I be doing the same
The cooling is shait as well
I looked at other cases and they all seemed to have similar clearance
Well, if you have top radiator the top cpu pin will always be problem
Why exactly are you removing these?
I have to replace my PSU
Is your psu modular by any chance
Would make the 24pin go easier
Yeah this is an old PSU from like 6-8 years ago. so it wasn't as common to have modular
Just imagine you are a surgeon pliers and lets go!
I share your pain
To answer your question more specifically, you gotta squeeze this tab until it's not hooked onto the motherboard slot anymore
Other thing you can do if you cannot do anything else, unscrew motherboard and make some space if you cannot move radiator lmao
Personally I wouldn't recommend pliers if you don't know what you're doing, as there's lots of SMDs on the board that you can fuck up if you're not careful
Indeed, I figured. I pushed the top end of the clip as far towards the cable as it can go. But it's just so rigid and stuck in there
I am afraid of just that.
I have grippy special pliers with all kinds of tips so i could make it work idk bput your case
Yeah except I genuinely think I'd be more comfortable doing surgery. At least things are pliable and actually move.
You can wiggle it lengthwise (up/down from the perspective of that photo) to get it loose
I've tried that a little bit I'll try again.
I'm always ering on the side of caution. of course I could just yank as hard as I can but I'm never doing that
Something have to work out, carefully will take time but you will find a way. If hopeless, take a break look at it again try again
Give yourself a few years of PC tinkering and that's exactly what you'll be doing
Yeah it doesn't really wiggle. it's like trying to wiggle a plastic cube that's chemically bonded to a plastic table under it
Except I have such anxiety about this that I'd never do that, lol. Even just having to do this PSU swap has been a week-long massive stresser.
Even swapping the GPU in this build took 2 hours. No room for my hands at all whatever
And I was so glad to never have to open it other than for cleaning. Then my PSU fan died

I'd never do that
That's what they all say
See that? That's the PCIE clip
That was hell to work with
There's no way this is normal in the industry
Yeah until you drop it or miss and poke an SMD
chopsticks
Thankfully there aren't usually components around that clip
Yeah chopsticks are solid too
I'd pay 400$+ more for a motherboard + case with plenty of work room
This is the only thing keeping PC building from getting a cake walk
Idk at this point I'm just ranting- sorry. This is just disheartening
You can't pull it by the cables obviously, right?
yeah generally not a good idea.
Thought probably but it's the only thing I have left
I remember my lovely air cooled old Fractal design define S case that was a walk in the park
Top airflow plenty of space will go for something like that again prob
If you hold the clip down, and pull by the cables, that should be fine, especially since the PSU is a dud
