I have a Dell XPS 15 9520 with Windows 11 Home and it came with MaxxAudio Pro installed to manage audio.

I have many problems with this audio software. First of all for some reason after some days of use it simply doesn't load.

  • I tried downloading the newest version from the internet to update, it says the one in my system is superior
  • I tried uninstalling. It doesn't remove the app from the start menu list neither does it remove the service that runs in the background
  • I disabled the service from startup. But if I do that the built in speakers and built in microphone audio gets really bad.

The second problem is it sort of "filters noise" from audio, but what it actually happens is that it's cutting out audio from videos. When I watch something related to a video game, or sports scenes where there is a lot of fan noise, the audio simply filters out a lot of the audio.

So I need the tool for the built in speaker, but would like it to no do anything to headphones. But since it doesn't load I can't change it's settings.

In Windows 11 settings I have removed "Enhance audio" in Sound Settings from the headphones. In the Advanced (older style menu) I've also unchecked Enable audio enhancements. These changes make an improvement but it's not yet natural.

Any possible way to get the app to work? Or any other way I can change settings and remove this filter to the headphone audio?

uninstall it

It doesn't properly uninstall. And the built in microphone is shit without it (which I use for work). I'd like not to uninstall as dumb as it sounds

try using realtek instead

There's no Realtek app. Only the background driver

Ah I'll try it. Thanks!
