I’ll run a speed test with a different device at the same location and see if I have the dips with both.

#

Only way to be sure

#

nope, i used the different device and it stayed at a consistent 400+Mbps speed

#

this test, however, did not stay at that speed.

#

this was a previous speed test.. on the affected computer

#

i don't get it, why does my upload work but not my downlaod

#

i forgot my network and reconnected.

#

ok well, i should probably keep this thread up just in case it stops working as intended.

#

Idk if this means anything, but I looked at my network performance and I only saw usage when I ran the test, not when it wasn’t in use.

powerline adaptors exist. but it doesn't really solve the problem.

I would verify that you have the most up to date drivers for your network adaptor.
If you've moved any large metallic or dense objects between the router and your computer that can also reduce the speed. as well as if everyone in your area has powerful wifi setups it could cause interference, although that's more of an intermittent issue.

in the wifi router setting menu, make sure the router is allowed to change channels occasionally to reduce that, in addition you can turn the router power up, to see if this helps with the issue.
