Recently my little brother had an issue where he sadi his pc shorted out, thanks to a cheap psu which i advised him not to use. The new one came in and we swapped it out now the issue is when we plug in the 8 pin connector to the his 2060 doesn't recieve power unless the plug is only half way inserted which then it lights up and the pc reads to plug the gpu in. I am starting to think the 8 pin header on the board is the issue and may be what needs replacing but if there is other issues and how it could be fixed the information would be greatly appreciated

You should just double check to make sure it’s not an easy fix. Inspect the pins on the graphics card power connector to make sure they look normal. If you have another card on hand, plug that in to see if you have the same issue.
