#Daughter's PC losing video while gaming

try checking gpu temps when gaming, it can turn off due to overheating
check by opening task manager or having msi afterburner tell you the info
I just ran into this issue.
if the GPU has RGB
or any form of LED.
watch the LED.
if it flickers erratically when the display cuts out, its the power supply.
my 3090 ran into this issue, and turns out my rosewill 1000W was bad, so I replaced it with a corsair 1000W, the issue stopped as soon as it was replaced.
^it also may be that a component is pulling more power than advertised, which I've noticed is completely possible.
another thing you can do to ideally check if its the power supply, is decrease the power usage limit to the GPU using MSI afterburner, to the lowest setting, and test games, if the display lasts longer before dying out, that can also point to a power supply problem
the LED thing is a good indicator imo tho
(my 3090's Geforce RTX text lights up, so it was easy for me to diagnose.)
Thanks for all the help! She has RX 580. I am thinking it’s starting it’s last phase of life. Temps looks good. Power drawn shouldn’t be an issue with R5 2600 and the 580, the power supply is a NEW 650W Bronze power supply.
thats what I thought and my new rosewill 1000W quit after basically sneezing on it
(I did not sneeze on it actually but you get the point)
Yeah I do lol
well now I got myself a fancy 250 dollar grounding port basically
I had to swap to a 1000W from corsair
