I've followed absolutely every single tutorial I could find and nothing is working. It's an intel i7 12700k on an ASUS TUF Gaming B660 11/12th gen intel WiFi DDR4 MB + 2x8Gb corsair vengeance RAM + IDCooling Liquid Cooler + Zotac 3060ti + LG 24in 165hz monitor + evga 750w power supply. The motherboard LEDs turn on, but absolutely nothing else turns on. I've checked the monitor's performance and it does work, but not with the new system. I'm almost certain that it's the PSU Cables that I'm having trouble with, but it could be something else. I can provide video/images of the setup in about 7-8 hours since I am out of the house right now. Thanks sm 🙏 (parts in pic minus monitor and case)
#First pc won't turn on - help?

Does the motherboard need a bios update by chance?
how would i do that without turning on the pc? i can't get anything to show up on the monitor from any source. the only thing that shows up is the monitor's interface and that shows up when i plug it into the wall only
Can you show me a picture of it?
Some motherboards have flashback to flash the bios using a USB stick so yeah. that' is an idea. Check if this motherboard needs it and if it came out of the box with an BIOS which runs your I7 1700K
a picture of the monitor interface, or the motherboard? i can't take a picture of the monitor's interface right now since i'm not at home, but i can in a few hours
i'll try to do that when i get home, thanks
regarding build, its a entirely new build?
yep 👍
Did you double check all the cables? Double checked if all the cables are on the PC?
Motherboard has the 24 pin, SSD has its own power ( NVME is screwed in ) Ram has been seated in the right slots? (see your motherboard book)
Motherboard also has its 8 PIN cable attached? (just touching all bases)
yep, all plugged in, but i'll double check the SSD when i'm home since it's under a heatsink and a pain to access
Also is the ram in the right slots? (see your motherboard manual)
if you got 4 , its fine, and should work
yep, they are (2x8)
so you added them in slot #2 and #4? 😮
yes i did
skipping closest to the CPU.
Thats good! Any beeps at all?
and did the GPU monitor cable attach to the GPU (and not the motherboard?)
Cable of the monitor should be in the GPU and not in the Onboard Graphics Outputs.
yep, it is connected to the GPU ports. i tried an HDMI cable and a DP cable, neither showed anything
sorry about leaving for like an hour i had a class
No beeps or anything?
nope, just the default monitor sound when its plugged into the wall. the mb LEDs light up rainbow and cycle though
did you try booting with 1 Dimm? on the 2nd slot , if one of them not working try the other.
If that ain't working, you have to wonder which component is not working 🤔
Since the BIOS should work for said 12700K, normally I would say update bios.
alright, thanks. i'll try booting in 2nd slot
