Next upgrade: Second loop for the cpu, because the coolant gets too hot from the cpu running at 95°C -> dual 480mm in the front(push/pull)

gaunt cloud
#

thats alot o fans lol

vivid nexus
#

yeah currently 24 xD

#

after my upgrade 32 🙂

gaunt cloud
#

wow looks really nice good job dude, are you using softtubes?

vivid nexus
vapid rampart
#

This mf be wondering why he can't run both a 200W CPU and a 400W GPU on the same loop

#

Still, bonus points for the HUMONGUS amount of fans. Friking love the thing

#

Out of curiosity, which fan pulls and which fan pushes?

gaunt cloud
#

hope your softubes are clamped to the fittings, always be careful with them

vivid nexus
gaunt cloud
#

nice had mine pop off when they got a little hot i zip tied em now

vivid nexus
vivid nexus
gaunt cloud
#

yes im using alphacoool since i had some bad expiriences with corsair aios

vapid rampart
#

Oh wait, water cooled

vivid nexus
#

all fans are 600rpm(idle/quiet), 1200rpm(gaming/not loud but you can hear it), 1700rpm (rendering/very loud)

vivid nexus
vapid rampart
#

Ok makes sens

queen cypress
#

By the way there are alot of questionable choices that doesn't make any sense unless you have some upgrades or modifications to do

#

Uhh shit i didn't read the chat ok ok makes sense now

vivid nexus
#

if you have only 5 fans than it‘s not as loud as with 20+

#

the sound level increases every time a bit for another soundsource

#

I think the max on a QL120 is like ~26.5dB(A)

#

when I turn all 24 fans on (100%) then I get up to 46dB(A)

vivid nexus
# queen cypress What?? I never knew corsair ql120 fans could go very noisy i remember having 5 q...

but we have to consider that much of the noise is I think is‘nt comming from the fans itself, but from the fans blowing through the radiators. With all that restriction with the little fins, that could be where its comming from. For example you have a large field and it‘s a stormy day, it‘s loud, but not as loud if as you had a large forest, there it would be loud and you would get the whisteling sound, because of the trees.

#

dB — normal measurement for sound / dB(A) — measurement for sound you can hear as a human

queen cypress
heady rapids
#

What temps do you get

vivid nexus
#

cpu 95°C (normal for r9 7950x)

#

gpu 70°C

#

coolant 30-60°C

vivid nexus
#

I have a job now so that I can afford a second loop

#

the gpu and the cpu in one loop is just too much to handle, if I want to cool it silent (500-600rpm)

#

I want to play my games at 4k 144hz not at 1440p 120hz, but right now it‘s the only way to play at all (at ~1300rpm)

sand apex
vivid nexus
#

there are 2 rads

queen cypress
#

But running another loop should not be that expensive since you already have fans i don't think you can spend over 300$ for two extra thick 480 mil rads right?

#

Actually thinking about it it might be pretty expensive yeah now accounting for the extra pumb and tubes and probably fans yeah it gonna be expensive

vivid nexus
#

~530$

vivid nexus
#

I thought about using an external Mo-Rad with 4 200mm noctua-fans

queen cypress
#

You aren't cooling a 4090 and a threadripper

vivid nexus
queen cypress
#

Ok that kinda makes sense

#

But before doing such expensive cooling solution why don't you upgrade your components

vivid nexus
queen cypress
#

I remember that you said you wanted to game 4k 144hz do i wonder what are you giving up for that extra frame with the 3090

vivid nexus
#

Minecraft is no problem until i#I use my shader on „extreme“ mode -complementary- than I get only 90fps

#

In Valheim it’s 120fps with 1440p but it’s not that much worse than 4K. The settings to high/medium

thin glen
#

Show us the fan controllers 😂😂😂

vivid nexus
#

2x core xt, 2x commander pro, 2x rgb hub(to usb), 1x nzxt usb hub

thin glen
#

Words can’t describe

vivid nexus
#

„perfect“ cable management

thin glen
#

I can’t comprehend

#

That photo

vivid nexus
#

every single one of the 24 fans has two cables 😭, but I labled them all and now it‘s easy to understand where which fan goes

gaunt cloud
#

wow

#

the cables

#

what case are you using

vivid nexus
gaunt cloud
#

oh damn didnt know that one can fit 2 360 top

vivid nexus
#

you can go and pick up another 2x4 120mm fans bracket

#

and the brackets are swapable

gaunt cloud
#

you shouldve bought lian li fans for better cablemanagment:D

vivid nexus
#

yeah perhaps that would have been a better idea

#

I thought about it, but in the end I wanted to have only one software. my loop is corsair and thats why I use their fans now too

vivid nexus
#

Update:

#

External rad is coming soon….

vapid rampart
#

Yoooo

#

That's sick

vivid nexus
#

4x200mm Noctua.swap

steady owl
#

If i may ask, whats the purpose for the pc??

vivid nexus
#

4k gaming(valheim and minecraft with 400+ mods)

#

rendering in fusion 360, blender, premiere pro and photoshop

#

I have hyperacusis, so it has to be as quiet as it possibly can get

vapid rampart
wheat slate
#

Are the rads stacked? If so and if its the same loop you'll actually get better performance with just 1 rad instead of 2 stacked on each other. 2 rads in series (not stacked) would even be better of course.

Edit: oh wait, atm its only just the 1 rad and 1 loop for both CPU and GPU? Ok yea.. that second loop will help out a lot 😂

vivid nexus
vapid rampart
#

Can't say I balme you 🤷‍♂️

vivid nexus
#

now I can barely hear the fans and the coolant is down to 30°C (22°C room temp)

#

my mom is in the room next to me and said it was a little bit to cold in there to work. and now with the external rad I can put tubing through the wall into her room 😀

#

so it‘s a win-win 👍

steady owl
#

Please post pic of your entire setup!! I am excited to see it all!!

rain halo
vivid nexus
#

the tubes on the PC are from the external rad. I just started to make a few adjustments so I can have a fresh start next week

#

but when I get it done I‘ll send another picture with everything turned on 🙂

queen cypress
#

Bro’s pc is gonna fly away with that many fans

simple perch
#

Nah man it’s too heavy for that XD.

steady owl
#

No speakers or headphones??
The headphones might help a bit with your hyperaccousis

vivid nexus
#

I have airpods max and steelseries 9x, but I don’t want to wear headphones every time I work.

vivid nexus
steady owl
#

Aahh Danggg!!!

#

Share the thermals after stress testing, that pc will still be chilling @ 40-50°c max i think!! 😂😂

high plume
vivid nexus
#

but I want to overclock it a little just for fun, but for work I like it when the system more reliable

#

normal is 5,2ghz idle, 5,4ghz Cinebench r23 singlecore, 5,2ghz(over all cores) Cinebech r23 multicore

high plume
vivid nexus
#

I‘m setting it back to stock settings (230w) right now

#

with stock settings the singlecore boost is actually lower @5,1 - 5,2ghz

#

maximum boost (HWinfox64) 5850MHz

thin glen
#

Also at this rate it’s time to put it in a different room

vivid nexus
# thin glen Wat dat

I hear every little backround noise. and all that backround noise is super loud

thin glen
#

Jeez

#

How do you not live with pros on
