Some time ago I have updated my pc with new motherboard and CPU.
Unfortunately since then my pc do not show POST and do not allow me to enter BIOS.
During launch my monitors show that there is no DisplayPort signal, pressing F2 or DEL yield no result and my PC boot to Windows login screen.

Motherboard: ASUS TUF B550-PLUS WIFI II
CPU: Ryzen 5 5600
GPU: GTX 1080TI 11Gb

Look up the manual? 🙂

#

Could be fastboot is on

#

And the manual should tell you more regarding how to get inside the bios

slate gazelle
#

I did

#

I'm trying to flash newer version of bios

#

As they describe this in manual

#

But it's taking more than hour

You most likely have fast boot enabled, so now, in order to get into your bios for win 11:

Open Settings>Troubleshoot > Advanced options > UEFI Firmware Settings and click Restart, which will boot straight into Windows 11's UEFI BIOS.

#

For Win 10: Go to Settings (Windows + I) > Update & Security > Recovery and under Advanced startup click Restart now. Note that this will actually restart your computer.

#

then same steps as win 11:
Troubleshoot > Advanced options > UEFI Firmware Settings and click Restart, to boot straight into your UEFI BIOS from Windows 10.

Do you have onboard graphics with your CPU? If so, plug into your onboard and use a wired keyboard in the top usb slots (unless they are labeled otherwise) and retry. What can happen is it initially defaults to your onboard graphics during boot, and the resolution can be outside of the supported res for the monitor, and sometimes during boot it only detects the first few usb slots and doesn't load the rest until later. These settings can be adjusted in the bios, but are typically set this way by default.

#

Also, you can try resetting the bios (CMOS reset), which should be detailed in your manual (either reset button on the back or sometimes on the board)

#

With your specific mobo, you have a clear cmos button on the back

#

you can actually update your bios without even entering the bios menu by loading the new bios file on to a usb stick, putting that usb stick in the designated bios slot, then press that bios button

#

The left button is to update your bios.

#

The right one clears your CMOS

#

Hope this info helps

#

I'm currently trying to update Bios

#

Keyboard is connected via usb

#

I believe mycpu do not have onboard gpu

gentle latch
#

so you changed the CPU and its not compatible yet, but requires a firmware change?

gentle latch
#

Ok , some AMD processors requires an update before the chipset has the instruction set for the AMD to work.

#

Since it has to cover for a big range of different processors , it has to have a firmware update. Please elaborate if this is new or did it work before?

slate gazelle
#

update via usb didn't worked

gentle latch
#

well hey, thats the bios 😄

#

thought you said you couldnt get into it 🤔

slate gazelle
#

thats

#

AI suite 3

#

application for windows

gentle latch
#

well what does it say?

#

Well none the less just get that on a usb stick and use the bios 🤔 instead

slate gazelle
#

No sucess

#

Update via USB (FAT32 with file in root and nothing else) do not yield result

slate gazelle
#

no

#

PC do not show POST

#

but it boot to windows without problems

zenith ibex
#

right, misunderstanding there then

#

how is your keyboard connected?

slate gazelle
#

Cable

zenith ibex
#

and not via hub?

slate gazelle
#

tested with hub and without

zenith ibex
#

yep, do you have a ps/2 keyboard around?

slate gazelle
#

no ps2 slot on mb

zenith ibex
#

aww

#

Some B450 boards still had them

#

I think the fast boot theory is valid though

#

Because what happens in fast boot, is that bios doesn't initialize all usb devices to make booting faster.

#

You could try different usb ports, like look at your manual, find usb 1, try that and so on.

#

So they don't work until you get to windows.

topaz swan
#

it should have at least updated your bios

slate gazelle
