#Where to plug in Headphones on back of pc

yeah you could unplug the green one and add the headphone into the red one for your microphone
since you are blasting through to other people , and they do not want to hear your amazing 2.1 set.
its preferable you disconnect your 2.1 set and add the green one in there.
as other players will not like you when you keep blasting your sound in the background to other people.
My pc is in my bedroom, so nobody can really hear it outside of my room
No meaning people online
when you are gaming you don't want to bleed in your game sound to other people
thats rude behavior
it was the 1st or 2nd cheapest at bestbuy, it does not even have a real tweeter lol
What you are looking for is a splitter. a Stereo one for the Green output.
When I am not gaming I use the speakers, I use my headphones for gaming since they have a mic and such
general price should be 6 bucks (euro / dollar)
make sure they are stereo splitters and not mono
that doesnt work, since I dont think the green port is aduio/mic combo
green port is audio only, red one is microphone only. I don't know how the other 3 colors work but right now my 2.1 speakers take the green port
so the green port gets SPLIT
into 2 output , hence the cable, one of them for your 2.1 set
oh ok
and the other for your headphone
but as I said try to get one which has a stereo connector
and not a mono one.
"splitter stereo seperate 3.5mm" 1 Male to 2 female is what I would look for
why not just use the front panel connector for your headphones?
it may well even stop the output to the speakers when it detects you plug your headphones in.
assumptions; "does he have a front panel connector?" and does it work?
the motherboard will have. If he is buying something he would be better off buying a hd audio header to 3.5mm connector cable.
or a usb audio device
something like this https://www.amazon.co.uk/Sabrent-External-Adapter-Windows-AU-MMSA/dp/B00IRVQ0F8/?th=1
It only supports combo plugs, not the two separate plugs my headphones have.
Anyways my goal was to see if it was possible to have everything working today without going out and buying adapters which I don’t have time to do for today
the one marked 'rear' is also an audio output
I did try that earlier, but no sound came out of it (realtek)
yeah, you'd need to go into realtek audio console for the mobo
it would not let me set anything for the black rear audio port, only the green one
your 2 sound inputs are mic (pink) and line in (blue)
sound outputs are main (green) rear (black) and sub (orange)
you need to go into the advanced device settings
send a screen shot of it here
and I dont have my headphones plugged in
it doesnt let me do anything with it regardless if they are in or not
change your settings like this
you should be able to set up the rear audio then as well
did all of that and still nothing from rear
hmm what does main look like for your control panel ?
because you've separated audio channels now, so it should detect what's connected in on each socket
though for some reason, it's showing you as having 2.1 audio and not 5.1 as the audio is capable of doing
are the drivers up to date for the audio?
My speakers are 2.1
and my headphones are stereo
ill figure it another time, thanks for trying to help
yes, but your desktop needs to be setup as 5.1 and then you can play from both main and rear audio
