#[SOLVED] Water spillage on Keyboard
1 messages · Page 1 of 1 (latest)
The keycaps themselves are all off
Had to remove them as the screws are all under them to take off the back
I've left it standing for now
Alright, well that should do it, let it dry and you should be good.
Thanks, hopefully so
Unless it's all shorted
As long as it was just water and not something like uh, milk or beer.
Sparkling water which is essentially just water
Yep, should be fine after it dries.
Okay it's still doing it
Could have waited a bit longer since the spillage
😅
I wanted to see if it would work as I work from home and kind of need a keyboard for that
Yeah fair enough
Next time though, as soon as you wet any electrical device
Turn it off and take all power from it
Let it dry for 2 days
so it being on has now killed those keys entirely is what you're saying?
Good advice
My guess is that it should work once it's fully dried but you need to wait and see
Okay, thanks.
For now, I've ordered a crappy wireless keyboard I can use in future from bed or something
But that comes tomorrow so I guess bye bye PC till then
I'm guessing since it was being held down/spammed nothing died but was just being shorted by the water
(hopefully)
Hopefully 😬
Fingers crossed 🤞
@hexed wren grab a redragon keyboard if you want a cheap half decent one
I don't need a 2nd one - I've just purchased a wireless one so in the future it might still have a use, rather than essentially being a waste of draw space (also much smaller than a wired red dragon) 😄
It probably shorted them instantly but as a precaution you always gotta unplug and unpower basically
Water isn’t the danger
It’s electricity
Reply to this above ^^
It unpinged
Please can this be deleted?
Just put [SOLVED] in the name
And forget about it
