Also, what monitor and what laptop are those?
How are they connected? Via HDMI?
cable doesnt matter. Its via hdmi i tried some different ones
sometimes it works for a little bit when plugging hdmi cable in agaian
That is a damaged monitor. Further troubleshooting may determine if you need to replace the controller board or the panel itself.
how did i even damage it
i cant recall it
I don't know. I'm not you nor do I own it.
When connecting a playstation the monitor works fine
When connecting a playstion the monitor works perfectly fine
Honestly to me it doesn't look like a faulty monitor.
I've had similar issues caused from a faulty driver
GPU driver
Really?
How can i fix that?
im thinking the problem is the laptop
Or gpu maybe then
It is possible that the GPU is slowly dying, maybe specifically the external output signal that feeds the hdmi
Have you tried to remove the drivers and re-install them?
Well, it's the same regardless if it's a laptop or a desktop
how would i do that?
Do you know what graphics card your laptop has?
Okay, so that's an Nvidia graphics card
yep
So, I suggest to download first the driver installer because it would be annoying (laggy) trying to go through the web without the graphics drivers
Select your graphics card and download the driver (don't run the installer yet, just download it)
is this right
\
Yes, sorry
The first one
game ready?
Yes
Don't worry
In my case, what caused the problem is that windows installed a really old driver that caused issues, I uninstalled the driver and installed a new one, but somehow, windows went ahead and re-installed the old one, despite having already newer drivers. So what ended up happening is the system was constantly glitching and crashing because there were two graphics drivers running at the same time, for the same gpu. I'm pretty sure this is not what's happening, but it's not a bad idea to try reinstalling the drivers
Yes, but also, on the control panel we're going to delete "GeForce experience" "GeForce control panel"
so what should i do?
Wait for the download to finish
just everything from nvidia?
Yes
Don't "restart now" if given the option, restart only after you've removed everything
Seeing your driver number, you're slightly old, but not really
guess i have tp
The fact that it's not letting you remove seems like an unusual behavior. Could be a faulty driver after all (maybe?)
Hope so
If that's the case, worst case scenario, is you'll need to backup all your files and reformat windows
Otherwise, it might be a hardware issue, which in my opinion, is much worse
What do you mean?
Don't go to the site again
Remove the drivers
And install the one you've downloaded
Alright all 5 are gone
do i just run the exe
yes
