#PC upgrades

I agree, @junior palm do what he said. Whatever part is closer to 100% usage (by the way is there a difference between usage and utilis/zation?)
What resolutions do you play at
Okay
Idk if it’s just me but
I don’t think Rust should be doing 40 FPS on medium settings on an RTX 3060 at 1080P
Yeah thats what I am thinking
Tbh I think it's something to do with my ram
I've got Corsair Vengeance RGB Pro 2x8
DDR4
And ever since I upgraded to it my PC has been very glitchy
However my performance in every game but rust has improved
With the upgrade
I'll check what is using up all my resources in a min when I hop on
Strange
Are you running them at their advertised speed
8GB on idle that’s crazy
Probably why
Lemme pause it but I bet the ram usage will be around the same
You gotta close all the apps to see the idle RAM usage
And close them out from the little tab at the bottom right
Weird
Maybe better ram might fix it?
What model is your ram
Not sure
Give me a min
I'll check the box
It doesnt say
All I know is that it is the Vengeance RGB Pro
Nevermind
Here is the link
They shouldn’t be sketchy lol
I dont know, half the time the LEDs dont work on them and ive been having a few problems with my PC
Return them
I don't think I can and I am planning on buying 32gb soon anyways
I just want to make sure the ram is the problem and nothing else
Can you not use a totally different ram kit
I’ve only got the stick I used when I got the PC which sucks even more
With 16GB in my gaming laptop, I idle around 35% but as soon as I open Spotify and Discord, it goes up to around 45%. What do you have open in that screenshot?
Discord and task manager
Weird
It’s only using 12 gb of ram
CPU is at 50% and GPU is at 40%
this is idle with discord open and Opera GX with 11 tabs open
in game?
Yep
Are all drivers up to date
Yep
Re install the OS then
do not trust taskmanager for GPU usage
and barely trust him for CPU ...
this is at idle on my laptop with 1 edge tab, Teams, OneNote and Discord open. but keep in mind that I have 32GB of RAM, so there will almost always be a slightly higher usage
Already tried that
These are all theories and conjecture until you see what the system utilization is like in-game using an overlay as i mentioned
Alr
I checked the ram usage and it’s only using 12 GB while playing Rust
CPU is at about 60% and GPU is at about 40%
I also got low fps in rust and I have a 1080ti and ryzen 5 5600. I moved the game to an ssd it only helped with stutter issues but not the fps and my ram(16gb) is always maxed for some reason with just rust and discord open. I dont know if this is just a rust issue or maybe its pc issue since none of my friends have the same issue despite having lower specs.
