Trying to diagnose this issue, I have disconnected all unneeded peripherals and components. Everything should be properly plugged in as well. What should I try?

Try noting down more info?

#

As in it keeps loading towards the instal usb ?

#

Remove usb 🤷‍♂️

#

What have you tried?

ocean panther
#

Well

#
  • I have tried removing all other driver from the system
  • removed the GPU
  • CPU and mobo has been swapped
  • only using one stick of RAM (tried two different ones
  • it boot loops the same on USB and internal SSD
  • BIOS has been reset
#

Now it’s bootlooping in BIOS as well

#

Tried to reset BIOS again, no luck

#

Could the PSU be toasted? That’s the only thing I cant really test

quick grail
#

Well as you said you tested all except for the psu

#

What happens when it bootloops just random shutdown?

#

No bsod?

#

Black screen and reboot means you have to get warranty for psu

#

Or just ask someone in your group flog friends who has a spare psu to test with

ocean panther
#

I do not know what could be wrong at this point.

#

It does not BSOD, it just reboots, as if it couldn’t get enough power from the PSU or something

#

or as if it was overheating, but I highly doubt it since it’s an 4600G with a beafy cooler (considering the CPU) and it shows to be at around 35°C in BIOS

Motherboard swapped?

ocean panther
#

Yup

#

Mobo has been swapped as well but I am starting to think possibly the mobo is shot, and some of the RAM as well

#

Because before I took all 4 sticks out, it wouldn’t post at all

#

On neither of the mobos

burnt gulch
#

Hmm... What about trying different drive and ram stick that's probably working?

ocean panther
#

But it posts with one RAM stick on one of the mobos, I currently don’t have the second one at hand anymore but I’m in contact trying to get it for testing.

ocean panther
#

And I did try two or three different RAM sticks, no change. But it’s also possible all of the RAM sticks are just bad. I don’t have any other DDR4 sticks to test with sadly.

Mby they might tell you what's wrong

Even tho mine did not help

burnt gulch
#

Mby cpu is ded or mobo

#

Mby both mobo are...

ocean panther
#

It could be possible

#

There are a lot of variables to play with here, and the story is that this is actually my brother’s PC, and my brother moved into an older apartment with no grounded sockets so it’s possible since they troubleshooted this themselves, if the apartment has bad power it could have killed both mobos during their testing.

#

Now is it possible that this motherboard needs an BIOS update to work with 4600G? It’s MSi B550M Pro-VDH

burnt gulch
#

Intel or amd?

ocean panther
#

Well I did try to M-Flash but it rebooted while doing that 💀

Oh, hmm...

burnt gulch
#

Ig it's supported

ocean panther
#

Welp I guess I’ll just wait to test on another motherboard

burnt gulch
#

Umu, good luck

Just to update this, we were able to figure it out. Very likely something about our "testing" motherboard had failed. I'm guessing the power delivery but it doesn't really matter, since I guess my brother just got very unlucky while originally troubleshooting the old mobo: 1 of the 4 RAM sticks has just mysteriously died. And I guess originally when I told my brother to test with one RAM stick, they tested it with the broken one. But now it works completely fine with the old motherboard and the other 3 sticks of RAM.
