So did you reseat the CPU ram, ssd
And try the ram one at a time
Also check the PSU cables
Wait a minute
Did I reply to you In a different post before
is that paste?
Looks like paste to me
Good luck
As long as ALL of the thermal paste gets cleaned off, it should be fine. Speaking from experience
Looks good
Still wont post?
Any motherboard lights?
@reef swallow
Which lights are those, though?
Those are the EZdbug lights
They should be labeled in the motherboard manual
Give me a minute
Here
The pictures you sent, was that with the 5950?
Or the 3900x?
@reef swallow
Looks like its working
The 2 debug lights are normal
Its stuck on that screen?
Force-shutdown the computer then try it again
Press and hold the power button
Turn the power supply switch off
Its easier to use the switch
It still kills power to the entire system
Try resetting the CMOS
On the case?
Thats a motherboard flash button
For updating the bios via usb
How to Reset Your CMOS and Why You Might Need Tohttps://www.maketecheasier.com › Hardware
Here
Take the GPU out
There should be a little metal tab on the thing the battery goes into
pull that towards the plastic battery frame thing and the battery should lift out
k
no rush
If this doesn't fix it, then the thermal paste probably fried the cpu. If thats the case, you should be able to RMA it since you got the thermal paste off of it
You might be able to carefully put the cpu in the socket without breaking any of the pins and have it still work
Damn
You can try bending them back, But I dont give it much hope
You are better off RMAing the new cpu
Its probably fried
k
Yeah
No problem
first, I would see if it posts without the bios update
@reef swallow
It posts now?
Right, I forgot about that
Ive got a Strix B-550 Mobo in my rig, Its also got that button
Really convenient
Welp, Seems like the new CPU fixed it
@reef swallow
Ah, Just the bios then?
Just remember to be careful when handling an AMD cpu next time
