#Fans randomly start going at full speed

fan curve?
yeah. it says, at what temperature how fast the fan is going. So it's possible, that you're PC is just about the point, where the fan curve says to go at full speed.
you can change this setting in you're BIOS.
Reason fan speed up is because the gpu is driving fans at certain speeds at certain degrees.
The higher your gpu heat is, the faster the fan speed up.
yeah.
so i need to lower my graphics settings?
no, there is no need for that.
this never happened when i had a 1080p
the fans cool down you graphis card, ad at a chertain speed the go full out, so that you're GPU doesn't overheat.
bigger diskplay = more performance needs.
What card do you got now?
should the fans run at full speed if the gpus temp is 70c and above
gpu 3070 ti cpu 10900kf
not so early(I think), but fan curves can be weird sometimes.
its just weird how this has never happened when i had a 1080p monitor
And around 50 on 60 % and if it makes too much noice. Lower the curvature a little bit
that's (as I also said already) a good idea.
Well 1080 pixels vs 1440 pixels is still 1/3 more pixels so 1/3 more power usage (estimate) so more heat! It makes sense.
the temps go a bit up, and the performance mybe a little bit down, but it's quiet.
yeah.
It’s not weird it’s just physics, more screen needs to be shown in more detail so more calculations needs to be used, more power equals more heat. More heat equals noisy fans
yeah.
he probably doesn't really understand it, but we try to help.
How much is 1920multiplied with 1080? 2073600 pixels!
Those are 1080 p pixel amounts
2560 *1440 = 3686400
1612800 difference in pixels it has to drive which is almost double the amount of work the gpu has to work on
Let’s make this a simple comparison. You saw a hot girl got excited for a split second and got red face. The symptom lasts for a few moments but it’s obvious to everyone around. Same thing with the gpu. It got excited with heavy work and got hot for a sec. Unlike the pc you don’t have a fan connect to your face every time a hot girl walks by and the fan turns on. We are not asking why it got hot. We are just observing
so i should change the bios settings then?
or lower my apex settings?
the gpu just heated up to 80c and i was just in the lobby screen
how good is the airflow in you're case?
4000d af
Yeah I've been running into t the same problem
read everything of the above.
so what do i do?
change the fan curve.
to what?
that's normal.
it's comepletly common for a GPU to have performance, power and heat spikes.
is it?
yeah.
even if your not doing anything?
jep.
Iwould change the fan curve, if you don't like it, that you'r fans randomly go up and down again.
yeah but they go up cuz the gpus temp spikes
How is your case flow ?
yeah, the temperature sensor is probably directly on the dye.
On idle as no application running?
Already asked than one.
No answer could be fans pointing at the wrong direction
Need a picture for proof on that
yeah.
fans are sucking air in the right direction
3 front fans pulling air in, 1 back fan pulling air out and 2 top fans pulling air out
ok.
but pictures are still helpful.
ok, looks good.
is there something directly at the back side of the case where the GPu is at, that could block airflow?
theres like 10 cm of space behind the pc
that should be enoguh.
it's better, but without it's not bad.
how much does overclocking on a monitor affect?
cuz without oc my monitor goes up to 144hz but with oc it goes to 165
only you're hz on the monitor, the temperature of the monitor and the power consumption off the monitor.
a little bit.
I can't figure it out,, sorry.
know anyone that would?
I don't. Sorry.

this is the solution
adjust these values until it does not.

your fans getting noisy is literally them doing their job.
i had a friend who wouldnt play games on his $600 graphics card because it got noisy when he played games, i was unfortunately unable to convince him it was intended functionality. i hope you figure it out. the best you can do is tame it, it will always get noisy when it gets hot.
