#Temps hitting way too high

ok? please ellaborate your story 🙂 what is happening? when how?
Cpu? gpu ? 🙂 did you check whats running on your pc? Any dustbunnies in the case? anything different / changed?
So, I was just testing out BF2042 since it's on game pass now, suddenly pc shuts off, and bios interrupts with "CPU OVER TEMPERATURE ERROR!!"
But I've been playing Warzone 2 on almost max settings just fine without my pc shutting off like that
To be fair, my CPU fan was a bit dusty but I cleaned it the best I could
also specs:
CPU: Ryzen 5 2600X
GPU: RTX 2060 Super
well do you got a straw? 🙂
Exactly
I tried to blow off the dust with a can of pressured air (that's like barely blowing anything at this point)
But yeah I'll test that
thats the alternative a can of pressured air 😄
should work the best though
after the can of pressured air, is it still happening?
I tested OCCT, and that hit 96 degrees
but i interrupted the test at that point
gotta hit the store rn anyway, but ill update soon
well at this stage im just wondering what kind of cooler you got
and also what case? 🤔 as it needs some way of getting air in and out
as in , is the cooling sufficient, for heavy loads, stock cooler might not be sufficient
is it overclocked?
Not overclocked
Case is Fractal Design R(something)
Also the stock amd cooler
So I think AMD Wraith?
Yeah
Two fans on the top and three fans in the front
And one fan on the side (thats not plugged in rn)
why not? thats usually the fan closest to the cpu right? 😮
My side panel wasnt actually plugged in cause i was taking one ssd in and out constantly
Hey so, I’m having high temp issues too
Apparently 65c when idling is too hot?
And I’m not sure what the cause could be
There’s no visible clumps of dust or anything
Everything looks to be in the right place
But my temps are getting higher than desired
And in the case of one game I was playing, the temps got to like 89-96
These are my specs
thats crazy high
Granted the game is known for being in optimized but still
ok, create your own topic.
Very concerning
since this is somebody else his topic?
Oh, sorry
I actually checked through all my cables and noticed that two fans werent even getting power
Well time to hook those fans up again ! 😄
I did, I think I might just need to repaste the cpu though
And well, this pc is very dusty otherwise too
clean out dust!
Dust does not guide heat, and is your #1 enemy on heat.
Yeah I found a dead fly in here too
hmm, cpu still jumps up to 90 celsius when running the stress test for almost two minutes
Ok 👍🏻 but is all clean?
If it keeps 90 degree and doesn’t go higher perfect
And if it doesn’t crash
I'm just gonna play some games and see how it handles those
Well stress test are meant to be 20-30 minutes
To be sure it’s working fine
Since water cooling is first soaking up the water with heat and dissipation happens with the fans
well if it keeps on 98,25 and doessnt get any higher thats your peek temp.
Stress test like Furmark / prime95 are unrealistically amounts of stress
should be fine if you do not get any blackscreens after that. might be a bit high.
which program you used for stress testing your CPU?
OCCT
