how long is your ethernet cable, and what is it plugged into?
is it coiled?
Can you try to use an manuel dns entry like 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4 in the primary and secondary dns of your network controller in either settings or control panel ?
Dns servers only translate domain names into IP addresses so dns servers only have influence the latency of loading a site for the first time and have no influence on internet speeds.
Is your internet connection 3mbps or 3MB/s? And are your downloads on your computer 400kbps or 400kB/s
Because 3mbps = 375kB/s
Example, I have 400mbps down on my internet connection, so my downloads top out at ~50MB/s
It's 3Mb/s and 400Kb/s
I believe it's about 25 feet and it is uncoiled. It's also cat6 if that helps
my ISP dns sucked altogether, if I wasn't using torrent i was not getting max. speed
It can be that your default isp dns sucks but that just increases the load time of the site and does not change the speeds you download things at since once loaded the ip of the site you are visiting is cached.
