This is why we don't advise cloning the OS
Yep, I would install the OS fresh and manually copy what data you want
It's a laptop for my grandmother. She doesn't want to setup a fresh OS
Have you tried running the usual BCD repairs from recovery media etc ?
Just boot up linux shortly if you have a usb flying around that you can use, mkfs.fat -F32 /dev/partition if diskpart completely refuses.
