Buy 8gb ram
Sell the whole system and get something remotely modern
Downgrade to windows 7 or use windows 10 debloated edition
You shouldn’t be pouring any kind of effort into a core 2 duo machine
We have a pc with the same exact specs in my school (same e7500 and 2gb ram) but with windows 10 1809 or 1803 iirc and has 50% util with like chrome tabs open
so where the fuck do I get that outdated ver of windows
.
sell the whole system as an authentic collectors item
If I sell that machine the max I'll get is 5k inr and I'll get nothing with that
Bro, did u steal it from your school?
Bro, give it back to school
very worn physical condition
still, sell it as that
This is a optiplex and my school uses thinkcenters
or keep it as a streaming pc and buy a new one
I'm not a streamer
Can you link me to any debloated versions?
Sadly, I dint have the means or the cash to get a new system atleast until 2nd half next year
If money is that tight you definitely shouldn’t be putting money into a machine that can barely run the OS
Just google windows 10 gaming os or something similar
Those can be quite sketch and vulnerable. O&O ShutUp 10 does the same thing without putting you at risk
Please send me a link
With the freeware O&O ShutUp10++, unwanted Windows 10 and 11 features can be disabled and the transfer of sensitive personal data onto Microsoft prevented.
It's free and straightfoward. Lets you disable lots and lots of bloaty features on windows
However, you're still greatly limited by the 4gb ram. You can only do so much there.
I would advise checking out linux if you're willing, it is much snappier on old systems like that.
No matter waht, do not spend any more money maintaining such an old machine
Will consider linux
2GB is pretty much dead end on Windows, 4GB is barely tolerable for simple tasks.
On Linux with say lubuntu 4GB becomes a fair bit to work with though still not luxurious especially on the mechanical hdd I bet that system has
An SSD is a worthy upgrade that you can take with you whenever you get a newer system
and a 256GB SSD is like 20ish bucks
I'm getting a 4350g (or it's successor of it ever get released to public) next year
based system
16 gb ram
500gb ssd
I know am4 is a dead end but I'm not going to upgrade it ever
AM4 is deprecated but that doesn't mean there's no upgrade path
Especially if you're starting out with 4350g
Buying a 5800X3D two years from now would still be a massive upgrade
It's all relative
could probably get away with a lightweight linux build like arch on that system
Yes
but probably don't try to build any aur packages
i mean youtube, twitch and stuff, just for watching
save up and buy 7600x and save up even more for a big bang on your gpu
am5 seems to stay for 5 years or so, is worth t
Instead of buying a am5 platform I could pay like half of my intermediate college fees
if I get a pc
I'm not changing out anything unless it's necessary for the next 4 years
For me there is no upgrade path
If you're running a 4350g on the platform, there is most definitely an upgrade path
