Could it be that the pc has some sort of thing where it turns off drives?
And when you restart the pc it turns on because the system turned it on second boot

It shouldnt ever do that autonomously. I personally have never heard of PCs doing that

You see the boot drive. Sometimes it disappears.
Do you think if its ghosting it might be broken?

the only thing I would suggest is to check the sata connections. The author of the video I linked will probably be of way more help to you tho. I would comment on his videos and see if he can help you like he helped me
