#HP server not recognising keyboard inputs

Hi there,

I recently got a Proliant dl360p gen 8, that my school was throwing out. I tested it, and it powered on. But when it boots into HP's proprietary stuff. It doesn't recognize any keyboard inputs, numlock doesn't work, and pressing f10, f9 or other fs doesn't work either. I tried changing settings in HP's iLO, but I couldn't find anything useful. And it says it doesn't detect any drives even though I have my boot drive inserted in the motherboard.

Do any of you know how I could enter the boot menu, or get USB keyboards to work?

I'm not good with server stuff but try using a ps2 keyboard

What would be an HP certified keyboard?

Try an older keyboard if you have one

I'll try it

Also does the iLO not provide remote control ability?
You should be able to do inputs through that to enter firmware.

Yeah, I just didn't have the time to do that. I'll do that later today.

This has nothing to do with windows.
It probably isn't even installed.

Yeah, I only have a truenas boot usb installed

I tried connecting to the server with iLO remote console. But it won't respond to any keyboard inputs there either

I've also tried resetting the cmos by setting maintenance switch 6 to on, then starting the server and turning it off again. And then switching switch 6 to off, and then starting the server again.

Are you able to apply firmware updates in the iLO?
I'd try reflashing it if you can, my best guess is some sort of firmware corruption may be causing this.
If not successful there, it's likely the mainboard is junk which doesn't leave you many other options.

I've updated the iLo firmware to the latest version available
