#Pc doesn't post after windows update. (Resolved)

I suffered same on my teach laptop
I guess try opening safe mode with networking.
press the reset button a lot of times
or shutdown the system, shut off your PSU, unplug the cable
wait for a few minutes
CPUs are incredibly complex and there might be old stuff remaining in it
it might think that it's sleeping but it's not
Still isn't working
Well now I would try that, but I can't exactly open safemode when the pc doesnt post
hold F8 while starting
My keyboard does not turn on
because my pc doesnt post
actually
i waited and it did turn on
monitor still in sleep though
Well drivers installed correctly?
well they were previously, windows update could have made an issue but i don't really have a way to check
Already tried that
Maybe try if your integrated graphics gives display if you got those
already tried
Okay
well you need new windows install or someting
I would go and give your ram a reseat next then
(Might sound unrelated but it can work)
Already tried that aswell
nah, it's relatable everyone sufferes from windows cruel updtes.
Tried resetting bios (just removing bios battery while unplugged)
Tried that too
Oof you tried a lot already
yeah
I think this guys knows his stuff so reinstall windows
He isn’t getting display right??
Hard to install windows without a video output
huh? is you thing fried?
Did you try this with your gpu out of the pc also??
Yep
bios opens?
There is no video output at all
Tried booting without the ssd?
wbios not opens how ssd will work
I've swapped between different ones, havent tried without, 1 sec
I guess your CPU needs reseat or mobo is fried
I can’t explain but I have seen it work
Some computers make no sense
XD
Engineering in nutshel
🤣
hmm, still nothing
oky you getting no disply or bios hoe will you even get thing goin
Tried the reseat yet?
I'll try that now
well i guess he doesnot have thermal paste
use toothpaste
engineering in nutshell
Nah keep the paste on it if you don’t have thermal paste on hand
It’s better then toothpaste
Tht is why over application is better, cn stand 1-2 reseats
okay i just realised I no longer have a compatible screwdriver so I can't actually do that
??
okay back with clean hands
so you remove the bootable drive and use windwos bootable drive. and store the drivers on it. try installting drivers just from bootable
No display
probably install GPU drivers and use........... if your pc goes to sleep did you tried just pressing the button?
I swear if he presses that button and it works I’ll cry
the pc doesnt sleep the monitor does
are you using some veryold crappy GPU that does not supoort
even the CPU some pentium duo?
I pray that gods will show us those days becuz i'm burnt from work and need to laugh hard
gpu is also relatively old but ive never had issues with it previously
radeon hd 7770 if i remember correctly
honestly one of them is an old lg monitor (flatron w2254tq) and an insignia tv
yep
well last try, I need to concentrate my PC skills
does no drive n just windows bootable flash drive works?
can try it with a flash 1 sec
sure. there should also be place where you can just let it do it's cycles and leave it, probably boot cycling
flash didnt work either
last advice. yes I will leave then, Just let it do it's job and leave for hours.
it will take some tiime, but may work.
I left it all of last night
well now I have diagnosed the problem, fired mobo
that update must be bios update and got fried
that seems like a good explanation unfortunatly
can i say some profanity?
But if it was the mobo wouldnt the fans not spin?
welcome to computer weirdness part of a mobo can work while other parts dont
did you used unsupported/dropped-supported mobo on a10?
win 11 cpu choices changes even now.
Well the mobo and cpu are from a prebuilt so ik theyre supported
I mean It would make sense that maybe they dropped support for my older components with the new update but that wouldnt explain not getting a video output
not getting a video output before being in the os*
it would, it would have fried the TPM which is with bios and chipset
so if TPM is damaged so is bios and whole mobo
oem do have TPM always
hmm, i might just send it to someone that might be able to figure out whats wrong
seems like the best option here
a second opinion is always good
think they will come to same conclusion though
or in this case fourth opinion but always good anyway
XD how many opinions he will take, it takes money
for everytime.
well what did you even do that it disables the whole graphics both internal and external graphics are shotdown
No clue, all I did was install a windows update lmao
on win 11 22H1?
Not 100% sure, I just clicked the thing to update it
normally it automatically updates, i dont manually update often
i would go and try score a mobo somewhere to see if that fixes it
if the pc is still fast enough for you that its worth it ofc
(resolved?)
his computer isn't starting, what are you even recommending
you can't "fry" your TPM
in modern systems your TPM is inside of your CPU, that's even harder to damage
even then you don't need a TPM to start the system or boot windows
