This is the issue here. Basically the monitor is flickering and has a verticle line going down the centre of it. I tried to get a picture of a more drastic looking flickering than this photo, but the rate of the flicker could not be picked up by my phone's camera. Happens without a device plugged into the monitor too.

fortunately it is. It is only like a month or 2 old. Also canada computers said I could just bring it back to them and they'd replace it if there was issues

True. A bug in the latest kernel that may of caused some issues with my igpu couldn't have destroyed my monitor could it? I am running openSUSE Linux btw.
