what boards? I like the c series
The K-series can be worth, but even with those I would generally say to go with other brands.
C1 is what $50?
RK61 would be better, that's $50
thats a 60%
He didn't say anything about layout, just asked about best budget keychron
oh, I didnt realise we were referring to him, yea rk61 would be better value for money
but you cant really compare a 40$ tkl to a 60%
There's a few others on Aliexpress that are around the $30-50 for TKL kit, but we don't reallyy know his budget
Nor do we know what size he wants so
Id get a keychorn c1 over a no name ali board
You realize like 90% of keyboard brands have a Aliexpress store? lol
whats a keyboard with a good tactile bump and thock
You're not really going to get a prebuilt that meet those criteria. If you are interested in it you can go the custom route
So why shit on AliExpress then? lol
or you could swap swiches in a prebuilt with hotswap
so then is there any specific switches i should get?
I didnt? I jsut said no name boards
yes theres decent no name boards, but its always a gamble
There's more than just a switch that defines the sound, but are you looking for a switch with pretravel (A bit of travel before the bump) or no pretravel (bump at the top)?
I wasn't really talking about no name tho, just less known brands
no pretravel
ok, so then what did say that made it look like I was shitting on ali
Ok, I am a tactile guy myself so my recommendations are Boba U4T, Zeal Zealios V2 or if you're on a budget the JWK T1
The T1 does have a bit of a leaf ping tho
I think it was just a misunderstanding from my side
holy pandas are popular, akko lavenders are a cheaper option, boba ut4's are nice but ive never personally used them
The Boba U4T's are nice, but I didn't like them for gaming personally, especially spacebar felt weird af. I am currently using the Zealios V2
As for TKL kit the FL-Esports MK870 is at $55, often gets discounted below 40 tho
"Switch" nice pun
that wasnt even intended lmao
How do you like the penguins btw? Seen them around, but never tried them
I personally really like them, do have alittle spring crunch tho
I like the feel tho
sound is eh, not amazing, not bad
I personally don't really care too much about sound considering I have heaphones on 24/7 lol
The springping in the Zealios v2 / Zilents v2 (before lubing) was unbearable tho.
Fixed once I gave them a good lubejob
yea thats fair, I dont really eaither, I mean i dont like a bad sounding board but I dont care about pitch too much
ah
Oh yea I can't stand a horrible sounding board either. I usually just try to get them as silent as possible
Without compromising on the feel ofc
Speaking of horrible sounding, the board I'm working on atm. Needs polyfill tho, and I have ran out so waiting on Amazon
ah yea
Time for the worst part of a new build
I mean those that have barely any pre-travel despite having a bit are Kailh Speeds, within 1mm of travel
Tactile Kailh Speed Coppers have 1.2mm of pre-travel
Thst's not the same, that is the actuation point
We were talking about bump pre-travel or not
^
Oh :-:
Ik this is the keyboard chat but maybe its worth a shot asking here:
hey so im having a problem with my GPro x Superlight. Today it decided to not work. It took a moment of fiddling around to realize that the problem is with the wireless dongle since it works in wired mode. I've followed several youtube videos on the issue and I cant get my dongle to be recognized within the pairing software for logitech. So I am wondering what else I can do. I uninstalled the stuff for mouse and pointers and restarted the pc and that didnt work. I have also fully charged the mouse. I also have attempted seeing if it worked on another pc which it doesnt.
Hmm I have a GPX Superlight too. The dongle for it appears to have a bit of its silicon chipped on some units, so you notice anything like this looking under the exterior?
Like the green mini PCB inside the small housing, mine appears to be chipped but not to the point where it has cut off a circuit. Maybe yours did get chipped from rough insertion and the dongle died
This is worse case scenario though.
Have you been using any indirect USB connections? Like via a port hub
If so maybe try with a native USB-A connection directly into a motherboard I/O pane and see if that solves the issue
for the last month ive been out of town so ive been having it directly into the laptop
Look in the housing
Is there like an irregular white border around what seems to be part of the PCB in there?
Like somethings been chipped off
are there burn marks around the housing? Like near the connectors
does the mouse work normally without the software running in the background?
Not to make you feel stupid, but are you using the right dongle :p
yea its the gpx one
Does it work without the software?
like without being recognised does the mouse perform normally
i havent taken it out since ive been on this trip so i doubt i damaged some thing on insertion
nope
wont work on my laptop which has the logitech hub software. wont work on a laptop that doesnt have it
its pretty annoying since i was using the mouse fine yesterday, just turned on my pc today and it didnt work
yeah
its on
does the mouse itself have battery?
i can tell on the led that its responding to my movement
Oh
Wait wait wait
You move it and the led shows it’s on?
like when i insert the dongle it doesnt even make the sound on windows for when a device is connected
yea
Oh
its green
ill go idle, the led will turn off and then turn on when i move the mouse
Maybe find a paracord cable for sale so it’s not as low quality
ill look around, kinda sucks i wont be able to work it wireless. i think ill try to bake the pcb when i get back to see if that does anything
Incest in custom cabling, try PS/2
cuz at this point it feels helpless
I have a sort of solution for you
Apart from wired
Get ready to buy aftermarket feet tho
mhm
Grab a hairdryer, set to max settings and melt off the stock feet
It’ll reveal screws that you can undo to take off the top shell
And reveal the mouse’s circuitry inside
See if there’s anything visibly off
I’ll try find a labelled diagram of a mouse PCB to help you spot the wireless controller
This is kinda risky, but you won’t be messing with things so it’s a lot safer then trying to fix it yourself
ahh that might not be an option since im only out of town for 12 days, my gpx isnt my daily driver when i game usually
Oh
its my travel mouse
Welp it’s within reach at home, no?
You could buy off Amazon some Corepads or Teflon which are great PTFE choices
i could also just return on amazon if possible and just grab a new one
Another option is Tiger Ice
ive been debating on new skates, but i use an artisan hien and its super fast as it is
I mean it’s best to try fix it so you know what to face on a replacement model if it fails again
true true
I’ve minimised the risks, didn’t tell you to desolder and solder yet
Hence the PTFE skates, and not telling you to get glass or ceramic
I remember hearing Corepads being similar to stock, so it won’t be that much of a difference
This = Elo hell in Valorant
Except it’s smurfing platinum players
aim.exe does not exist or has been deleted
so ive missed the return and suport window with amazon
let me see what logitech can do
Mouse PCB diagram, I believe the centre is the wireless chip, the USB MCU since the Superlight is USB wireless
@rain pelican
I’ll link you optimum techs vid on upgrading mouse switches too, he tells you how to remove the shell
yeah thats a whole thing that sounds fun but lowkey hell to deal with
dont want to go down the mouse mod rabbit hole, spend too much money on kb stuff as it is ;-;
Mhm, so I’ll save you the searching by giving you time stamps too :))

Same mouse, and virtually the same process, but we’re not voiding warranty by desoldering mouse switches like he will
Also don’t be distracted by the image shown here, you’ll be looking at the underside of the mouse where we can actually see the MCU
Sorry for rapid ping but I don’t know how many messages you’d need to scroll up of once the kb enthusiasts enter
lol its all good, ill learn a lot and maybe have a better mouse than what i started with
Lol
starts expending all income on Kailh and Huano switches and buying tons of mice to experiment with
||in the case you’re already down that rabbit hole most people mod the Superlight main switches with Kailhs as Opt did here, but if they have some cash to burn they buy TTC Golds||
Can you lube keyboards with Vaseline? Ping me if you do answer 🙂
Theoretically yes, but not recommended
i would say no in most cases
vaseline is petroleum based, and petroleum based lubricants degrade a lot of thermoplastic, which most keyboard components are made of
isn't it also kinda... uhm...
thick and sticky
You don't want to use anything except Krytox or Trybosis for switches
I only use vaseline on wounds, lel
only use vaseline for the car
for liquid cooling loop
no, to stop it from rusting
petroleum jelly based window cleaning
So Vaseline is safe for lips, but not for plastic?
🤣
Cause I have a membrane keyboard. I wanna make it quieter, and if you lube the keys it’s quieter and smoother. Can you use dielectric grease?
yes you can
What’s a good brand for keyboard tools
Tools !?
its not very complex of a tool, most just use whatever comes with their keeb or keycaps or whatever
Im not an expert on membrane keybs but i cant imagine lubing membrane switches would make much of a difference if its even rly possible
I heard the one that comes standard on mech keyboards suck
i mean
Depends what keyboard you buy?
akko keycaps come with a great puller iirc
but its kinda hard to fk up
like the plastic circle with two prongs type is perfectly fine
It's great but unfortunately doesn't fit in my keychron Q3 lol
Oh alright, do you suggest like a switch and key cap holder so you can lube them?
Whats the best liner mechanical keyboard for ~$80
I prefer using the plastic pullers
But when u have a top plate sometimes u need wire ones
For f keys and stuff that are surrounded
How do you know when you needa relube the keys and switches?
Wait bruh
Answer
You know, getting one takes a day or two here
liner keyboard no exist
you mean linear?
Its a quiet keyboard
At that price point you can purchase the Pulsar PCMK
which is barebones, then install your own switches
Does it come with the switchs
ni
Switchs
K
well a pack of 65 pcs of Gateron Red switches, one of the cheaper linear types will set you back $29
but you'll need to buy another 22, since its a TKL board which requires 87 keys to slot in all of the sockets
oh well, nvm this is going outta budget
But do you know a different keyboard which you don’t have install switchs
I know but installing keys caps are hard
I mean I just use my thumb to push them onto the switches, not really
Just get whatever keychron is in your budget and layout
then select reds
Installing keycaps is literally just putting then on the stems
Like you need no tools
Minimal force
Finally got my custom keyboard for work
And this is it's cable, yes that's a usb-c to ps/2 cable
The switches are cherrymx greens because i like them
French Canadian iso
I like clicky switches and I’m looking to get a kailh: box white, box jade or pro yellow…. Any 100% keyboards with those switches on them? I looked at one site they were all sold out.
Hexgears keyboards sell on kono.store has box white options
Yea ... Suck to be stuck in QC
At least full size enter key!
Ik this is like keyboards and stuff but I’ve got a mouse question. The stock Omron switches in my G703 has the tendency to double click on a single click. So it is worth it to swap the mouse switches for a different one? (Currently looking at the Kailh GM 2)
And I know how to solder and whatnot.
yes
tho i recommend you switching to the japanese omron instead
since the root of the double click problem is the fact that the switches are being oxidated by the current feed by the microcontroller
and partly the rather inadequate contact point thickness
I see
Maybe an Amazon link to those switches please?
Thanks!
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v5BhECVlKJA&t=11s
rip from this video essay explaining the reason why modern mouse double click so fast
This is an extremely detailed report on all the technical variables that are relevant to the plague of prematurely 'failing' OMRON switches on modern PC mice that more and more users have experienced lately, like the popular Logitech gaming mice (and other manufacturers too): this is NOT an attack on brands and manufacturers, but I have to talk ...
Aight, I’ll definitely be looking into it!
or this one
basically you are looking for omron d2f-01f microswitches
that should be enough for amazon search to figure out
I see
What's the best keyboard ~$80
can anyone recommend keycaps for a 80% keyboard mac and windows compatibility preferrably
keychron c1 is good
check out akkos keycaps
I was thinking smth cheap as I already bought the k8 which was like $120 USD so that already put a hole in my wallet 😭
and I have to get a mouse as well
theres solid caps on aliexpress in that case
yeah I was going through there
find something that you like
I am looking for 80% specifically so do I get full sized and use keycaps I need
or look for 80% specifically
got it
youll need at least like 90 something
94 I think?
don't you have a short right shift for 80% ?
Rk61 gateron yellow lubed switches with custom keycapz
Oh
80%
Ohk
60% you have a full rs
So
Glourouis lube
What's the best keyboard ~$80
I am not sure
c1 specced out
if you wanna raise that budget to 90 I would say k8
spec I would get for c1
spec I would get for k8
any keycap recommendations to go with a black vega? planning to build a setup around the vega
POG Wooting Two HE and 60HE have released
Former is apparently hotswap but only with Gateron Lekker switches
nice
no best, what are your requirements for a keyboard
Steelseries apex pro opinions
its definitely a keyboard
gmk wob lol
you can definitely build one with that price
also the main selling point which is faster actuation is not that great since you will mostly press down deeper anyway
You can change how deep you have to press
- I got it a lot cheaper than usual
since you already bought it why ask now?
Why not?
meh, personally would never get it but some people want the adjustable switches (which i think is more of a gimmick but thats just my opinion 🙂 )
Ok
hope you're happy with it
not that much difference in actual practice tbh
Me too 😆
You can change how deep you have to press, you will press deeper than that anyway
It's a marketing gimmick and the end result is that most of the time people actuate key they don't want to when they put the actuation distance too far up so they just lower it down to close to normal point
I like the akko lavender purple a lot
And also the tecsee carrot
Now I'm using the knc red jacket
I like box royals, but boba u4 and gat ink blacks are also good imo, tho i haven’t tried too many switches so
hey guys~
is there is a name for a keyboard that is small , Like the buttons are small and their height is minimal like laptop buttons and would also come with the numpad? I have a big bulky keyboard for my pc and honestly its great for gaming but I just feel awkward when writing code...
Cheap, low quality, feels terrible like a laptop keyboard
But that fits the description
logitech mx keys might also fit that
Do you just mean like scissor switches?
I just meant the general name for them, I guess it's slim?
lowprofile, ultra low profile
I just want a keyboard that I could reach everything on except for the numpad with one hand and be fast with it, for example on my laptop I could type real fast because the buttons are slim and close to each other while (now) on my pc, although i also type fast i just stagger between words
Thank you guys!
maybe look into smaller layouts like 40% or 60%
what does the % mean? size?
Yes
60% of the normal amount of keys
so like no numpad or function row but its overall smaller
Where is mouse channel?
@tepid nymph This is fantastic for coding
It's my keyboard that I use for writing and coding
Been wanting to try out a split ergo keyb like that
1 where do you get one prebuilt for cheapish, 2 looks diy, whered u get the pcb and components etc
I designed this on my own, ordered the finished design from JLCPCB
The components I got from splitkb.com
idk where to get a prebuilt one tbh
Most of them are gonna need some manual soldering of components
Thanks!
that looks super cool, but also makes my brain hurt
Any decently cheap keyboard that are on the nicer side?
look into keychron
Kk thanks!
what features you want?
and what size?
What's the DIY Keyboard Scene in here like? Anyone pick up a QK65?
I dont personally have one, but I''m sure someone here has one. and I've heard very good things about it
Yeah, just curios what the DIY Scene is like here on the LTT Discord
basically all the active peeple here are into customs
or at least higher end prebuilts/barebone kits like akko or keychron q series
love my keychron q3
but the "group buy" aspect for a lot of the high end custom boards and keycaps just ain't for me
well you can build or buy a prebuilt
also building one is really expensive unless you get ktt or akko switches
switches arent that expensive?
there are budget switches
and there are those over the top ones that people talk about
Yeah, I have a real problem - will be at 14 boards at the end of the month if my Akko ACR Alice Pro ships!
My first board was an Idabao ID80 that I had a friend build
the first board I "built" was the Akko ACR75
put switches in, add keycaps
very noob friendly lol
What's the name of the keyboard that's light blue and light pink?
The one at the very front? That's the Akko ACR75
What’s the board that’s black and pink?
I love 75-ish keebs
where is Chonk-e
Nothing special. Preferable the cheaper the better but I would like a full size keyboard with a num pad
is there a working keyboard?, lol
nope, but theres that crazy chinese redragon k556 supersized
idk what the name is
Keychron c2 or any akko board
Exploded 75 is probably my favorite layout. I wanted to buy a Hope 75X quite badly
i do not know, but just get the same type of stab
doesnt need to be the same manu
does anyone know if keychron price matches
I bought a keyboard like 2 days ago and it was 89.10 but now same keyboard is like 69.10
I dont wanna cancel and reorder cuz it shipped and shipping it back will cost more money
why don't you email them to ask
I already did
but I doubt they will respond in time lmao
the sale is only for 2 days I think
so do you think they'll be able to reply in time to process the price match?
if they did do price matches

thats why I am asking here
no see, even if we told you they would price match, if you think they won't reply in time to your enquiry, then whats the point?
who knows they might price match because I contacted them during the sale
and who knows maybe someone has had a similar exp and can tell me a way to contact em faster
doesnt hurt to ask
RGB Keyboard, mouse and mousepad under 150$ anyone?
Do you want the actual mousepad to be rgb, like the edges have lights or just the keyb and mouse?
if no rgb pad then rk84 (or rk61, etc based on what size you want) and depending on how much rgb you want either glorious mode I or D or whatever the new one is or hyperx pulsefire haste /haste wireless if you want no wire, ltt store mousepad
Kk thanks!
also mice and keyb are very subjective so based on hand size and weight preference you might prefer g502 hero, razer viper mini, or something else
Then also for the rk84 its on sale for prime day for cheap which is why i mention
- There is a brown, blue, and red switch option. This refers to the type of switch it uses red is linear meaning it goes down smoothly when you press it, brown is tactile which means theres a tactile “bump” halfway through a full press to indicate that the switch actuated, and blue is clicky which means it has a similar bump to tactile but at that bump there is a loud audible “click” noise
Pad too if possible
I would want razer, logitech, asus. A well known company
Oh shoot keychrons got a gcrazy sale too
I know that feelin but imma level with you rk84/61 and keychron kX keyboards are better than any keeb those companies will ever make
keychron is super well known in the budget-enthusiast category
Not too knowledgeable on that but you can probably get like a 15-30$ one on amazon thats the right size
i would not spend more than that tho cuz its a scam at that point
Almost no support at all.
Yeah, the keyboard r great themselves.
Glorious gmmk2 also ins’t a bad option.
They're support is fine
Gmmk2 is pretty meh in my opinion but it's fine ig
Sure, whatcha looking for
So I’m thinking about selling my Logitech G915 TKL and buy a cheaper copy version of it which is redragon horus tkl. The reason why I want to sell it is because the G915 tkl still uses micro usb and its keycaps are rare-ish and fragile so if I pull it out hard, it will damage it, and the keycaps rattles when I shake the keyboard even a little bit, also i need funds
and the redragon horus tkl uses type C and is hotswap and its keycaps are easy to find
I have a better suggestion, look at keychrons low profile options
Otherwise I completely agree and understand wanting to sell g915
But I personally would get a keychron, not reddragon
Better build quality, better stabilizers, over all higher quality materials
Im just looking for a cheaper low profile wireless kb
oh and media buttons
i use them hehe
https://www.keychron.com/products/keychron-k1-se-wireless-mechanical-keyboard?variant=39652026613849
Keychron K1 SE is an ultra-slim wireless mechanical keyboard. With low profile Gateron or Keychron Optical red, blue, brown, banana, mint switches. Wireless and type-c wired mode. Mac layout, compatible with Mac, Windows. Aluminum frame. 18 types of RGB backlight included white LED.
If that's a deal breaker you have very few options, go with the red dragon ig
Fair, yea it was jsut a suggestion. But if media keys are a must have for you don't really have any other option (that ik of)
Gotcha
so yeah is it like worth selljng it?
im trying to sell it for $120, is that okay or should i lower it to $100
I got it for $260 2 years ago
and now the brand new price for it is $180
Personally I would say yes.i hated my g915
Rattle keycaps, rattlely stabs, hard to find keycaps and replacement switches
Also didn't really like the rubber buttons on the top, they would never push down nice, like you'd push on them and only half the button would go down
Nah, I Jsut have it to a friend
cool cool
same problems
I mean I love my g915 but
Im just worried that someday it might stop working and I cant find switches for it
or keycaps
I mean I did too until I got into custom kb's then there were jsut so many flaws I couldn't get over
You can find switches semi easily, and I'm pretty sure you can get kaycaps for it from Amazon
ooh cool cool… I will custom my redragon horus tkl too if i get one
and if i hated the default switches which is red linear
honestly just switches lol
What switches were you gonna get? There's not many low profile switches out there
Ion wanna get into custom keyboard hobby yet. Another reason why Im selling my G915 is so that i could have money for my other hobbies (collecting figurines and skateboarding)
I found one from keychron although im not sure if it will work since it’s an optical mx switch
No it wouldnt, it'd have to be a mechanical switch not optical
Unless the red dragon is optical
oh, then it wouldnt
and also, how much do you think i should sell my g915 tkl?
it has no issues and not that heavily used
whA
that… is too cheap
oh wow it is around 50
$45-89
damn… I bought it for like $260 :((
Well you can never go wrong with Pulsar's Xlite Wireless V2, even if they're a tad smaller
its known throughout the mouse community, have a look for yourself
ASUS on the other hand, if you really want a keyboard from them the ROG Falchion's not bad, full size try the Strix Flare II
RGB mousepad, you could go with a Razer Firefly
or a goliath, or gigantus which have their RGB variants
i finally have a numpad again
This is actualy intresting idea.
I like gmmk2 cuz of the 1800 layout, almost compact as a tkl with a numpad. Build quality is strong, expect for the ABS keycaps, the mayor issue are mushy stabs.
No idea, 120 or what ever you said earlier would probably be fine
There's way better options for that layout though
dude i looked at people selling the same kb and they sell it for $160
Then sell it for 160
I just put mine for $140
I don't know what's it's worth, I'm the wrong person to ask. Sell it for what ever you think its worth
but the thing is, they sell it used. Brand new costs $170
hmm okok imma just put it around $150 and say the price is still negotiable then sell it for 5 or $10 less
anyone know if the corsair k60 is a good keyboard trying to find a full size mechanical and i found the k60 for cheap?
No it's bad, what features are you looking for in a keyboard? And what size?
i need a 100% extra keys are nice but not necessary obviously want mechanical but dont want the keys to be very loud
i'd recomend the keychron c2
if you live in the uk, theres cex
anyone know a good wireless keyboard with gateorn yellows
under £100
preferably with a usb a connection
this ok for 1500 egp? its 20% off the us pricing
no aqua switchtes atm
yes
is there anything better
like maybe 20% btter for 2000 eggp
or is this just rlly good pricing
i mean if you look for like 10 hours then maybe
yes it’s good pricing
i looked for 11
do wrist rests snap onto the keyboard
i need one cause i usually use laptop membrane and laptop has rest for wrists
im looking for a rist rest that snap on for like 200 egp
found this
this isnt attachable but is it good
and are most rests not attachable
@young spoke
what country
england
I'll assume since my message appears to be deleted that this was not the right place to ask about keyboards and mice
ehh, it is
but you probably just used a word the bot doesn't like
ah
censored words pretty dumb after all
could someone recommend me some budget white on black doubleshot pbt keycaps that would work with a 75%?
chat i need help deciding which to get, https://www.keychron.com/products/keychron-k2-wireless-mechanical-keyboard?variant=31063869751385 or RK ROYAL KLUDGE RK84 RGB 75% Triple Mode BT5.0/2.4G/USB-C Hot Swappable Mechanical Keyboard, 84 Keys Wireless Bluetooth Gaming Keyboard, Tactile Brown Switch https://a.co/d/h13mmF8
Keychron K2 is a 75% layout tactile wireless mechanical keyboard giving you all the keys and functions you need while keeping it compact. With the largest battery seen in a mechanical board, Mac layout, connect up to 3 devices, comes with wired cable option, and 15+ types of RGB lighting option.
Do you need 2.4 ?
Theres no obstructions between keeb and pc so it would have good connection
i mean i dont NEED it but wireless is nice and i dont know how fast bt is anymore
rk61 or gk61 or ...61?
rk61
has anyone from canada ordered a keyboard from keychron?
Rk61
For that region anything better probably wouldn't ship sadly
Nah this is the right channel, what you looking for?
Depending on how cheap you consider budget, look on drop.com, akko, or machanicalkeyboards.com
whats the customs like
like do they charge u money to accept delivery of ur package
There's 30$ shipping if I remember correctly and atleast when shipped with DHL there's no fees soon delivery
yeah it's a $28 shipping fee
for me
so u didnt pay anything for customs?
Nope, jsut the 30$ shipping
like they didnt surprise u with a bill after the shipping fee
if you dont mind me asking
you live in ontario?
Alberta, but I don't think that would matter
I see
idk it might matter laws are diff
but I hope I dont get sent a surprise bill afterwards
Keychron ships from Hongkong so the package enters Canada at Ontario anyway
Yea fair enough, I doubt you would get billed though
ah I see
thanks for sharing!
cheap aka around 30 bucks no more
Is the Cherry G80-3000N RGB TKL a good buy for 70 euro?
Was looking at getting a Redragon K580 and a G502 Hero for a total of 102 euro from amazon, does anyone have any recommendations on other peripherals that may be better for a similar or better price?
Both are currently on sale for 66 and 36 euro respectively
I dont know too much about mice but I would assume the hero is fine.
for the keyboard tho I would recommend the keychron c2
https://www.keychron.com/collections/100-layout-keyboards/products/keychron-c2-wired-mechanical-keyboard?variant=32312457625689
Keychron C2 Mechanical Keyboard. Full-size 104-keys Layout. Connects via wired type-c cable and users can hot swap every switch in seconds with the hot-swappable version. Compatible with Mac, Windows, iOS, Android, Linux. Gateron Switches. 15+ RGB Backlight
i'd personally get a keychron or akko
why? i have no knowledge in keyboards, and cherry switches are really good
way better than my membrane keyboard lol
cherrys aren't the best anymore and keychron makes good keyboards
Ah it's a USB C, which means I'll have to buy an adapter and it i don't know if it'll ship to Ireland without massive import costs
cherry switches are not really good. its preferance
When I look at it on Amazon it says it's 100 euro
you dont have usb c?
Amazon won't import it to Ireland
No
And I can't even buy it so it doesn't matter
Although it seems like it'd be a great option if it was able to ship
might beon that list idk tho
does it really matter? no, i liked how it looked and its better than a razer cynosa chroma
Nope, we're not on it
and all those keychron keyboards look pretty bad imo
no it doesnt matter, they wre just correcting you when you said "cherry switches are really good"
that subjective but ok
well they are good
Do you have any other recommendations? Might have a bit more luck with some others
you're looking at a flat black kb. theres no design in it
maybe not the best, but better than gateron
keychron, akko, leopold, varmilo, durgod, ducky, kemove, royal kludge
gaterons arent bad? and theres lots of other switch options that are better than both of them
Any of those you'd put ahead of the rest? I can rule out keychron since they don't ship here
doesnt matter switches are mainly preference.
if thats the keyboard you want go for it but I would recommend keychron or akko
I'll try see what akko offers
or outemu
akko. not sure of there shipping tho. some of those others should be on amazon tho
most of there switches are budget ( think if im remembering right). they're not in the same price bracket
Most of akkos seems to be a bit more expensive than the K580 i was originally looking at
they they're abit more. but you get what you pay for
the hell is "Steelseries Whisper-Quiet"
i dont even think is mechanical
maybe not
nope, its membrane. so they're lying about it being mechanical
it'd be neat if they did a electro capacitive or topre board
lmao n i c e
and it targeted at gamers and e sports
as most gaming brands are
I think I might just go with the K580
Seems like a decent option, especially as it's on sale
if none of the other options fit your needs sure reddragon is fine. expect rattly stabs and poor quility keycaps tho
Well other options are bringing the total over 100 - too expensive or don't even ship here
i 100% didn't buy the keyboard im using because it was on sale
What one are you using?
g413 i got it for 43 cad
It's 83 euro on sale here right now
just buy if off the keychron web site
As previously said, they do not ship to here
L
Was checking the German site
lmao
I should of gotten the c2 and not this
I wonder if the UK site would ship
Probably has stupidly high prices just for importing
where do you live
it don't ship to ireland
lmao
For Canada, we'll ship through DHL Express only, the ETA is around 7 business days after we ship. There is a chance you might be taxed, but the chance of getting taxed is very low right now, it's less than 20%. Please be aware of that. For Spain, we can't ship to Balears Province, Las Palmas, and Santa Cruz de Tenerife
okay but the uk website ships
oh theres a uk website
mhm
it doesn't
Where does it say
my good sir
is northern ireland
all of ireland
northern ireland is part of the UK
im legally blind
indeed you are
lmao
lmao
didn't read northern ireland
Does Keychron charge for shipping?
northern ireland ireland same thing
I wonder how much it would cost to build a keyboard where the keypress is triggered by a magnet embedded in the key cap triggers a mag-reed switch on the main board rather than a physical switch or dome
both should be british
💀
and i just pissed of the whole of ireland
I just want to know if keychron charges for shipping
no potatoes for you
Speaking as an American not everyone wants to be British
not that there is anything wrong with being British
yep!
and so does ever other keyboard company
damn I'm seeing people say they charge 23 dollars
well from a macro view you pay for shipping whether they explicitly charge for it or not
Oh wait they're doing 10% off?
30$ for me, yea its expensive but sadlt all custom keyboard companyies are like that
yea they're ahving a prime day sale or smthn
which fucks people who are close and helps people who are far
yes
the continuing shipping container shortage is still causing high shipping costs for supplies/parts/products that travel longer than the 'final mile'
true
That'll make having to pay for shipping not as painful
the uk website expensive
75 euro
64 pound
it's a problem but if you want stuff quickly shipping is expensive it it's half the earth no matter shortage
i don't typically mind paying higher shipping costs for computer tech as long as it's packaged to survive the horrors of shipping
or if it has a good rma process yeah
still waiting on the keychron q8 launch i want it
the amouint of times i had to rma my g533
Wait 30 dollars for just shipping within the UK?
idk, it was 30$ cad for me to ship from hong hong to canada. not sure if its teh same shipping within eu
I think you can calculate shiupping when you go into checkout
its like on the right side of the screen. could be wrong tho
just compare the sites and take the cheapest site
Alright, time for some researching
q8? whats it gonna be?
like what size
alice
oh
talking about keyboards im never gonna buy
that would be nice
I wouldnt know. never looked alice boards
does seem cheap tho
ergo boards are pricy asf
they go quite high the previous one i saw was that price no switches and keycaps and weird site. also missing the b on the right side
as alice has 2 b keys
ah
mhm
damn
and will get a k2 and combine shipping as a portable wireless board/ at home wireless sometime need a keyboard away from a system
Bt suck mostly
Depend of the price of the board
bt is usefull for typing but gaming nah
120 usd
You can estimate it on the ups site
Damn, what a bummer
Probably won't be able to get a C2
Unless I order it from the US
God knows how long that'll take to come
Can I hot swap C2 with kailh speed gold switches?
If you got the hotswap version yes
bump
yea it is
yes
asumingyou got the hot swap model
No the one i sent isnt, the hotswap one is like 20$ more rn
oh I see, your model isnt
Linear if you don't mind double typing a letter here or there. Tactile if you need accurate typing
its all preferance
what ever you like best
i know its about preference, i just want an idea on which switches are meant for what i want to do
oh
so linear has slow response time? or
no switch is meant for one thing
no
obviously switches are better in different categories they aren't all the same
no?
okay
its just preferance of what one you like the best
only speed swithces are really category "locked"
they actuwate very easily which is goof for gaming, but typing on them is horrible (at least for me. some people dont have issues with it)
They're usually a bit faster to respond in games
this is not true
they actuate] at the same time as a tactile or clicky
it feels like its faster cause you dont have to overcome any resistance, but in reality its prob not
mhm
Hmm yeah I'm just used to the ones with weaker springs
unless its a speed switch
But yeah I guess reds have pretty much the same spring as browns
otherwise it'll usually actuate at around 2mm, just like most other tactiles and clickies
my keyboard went buggy on if u use numbers it spams letters and the 4th row down dosent work so annoying
now i need to use this use razer deathstalker
have you tried using the kb in another computer
yep
Did you get water in it? That's weird it's like a row is shorted
ah, thats unfortunate
very annoying and theres not been water in it
hahve you looked at the pcb?
depending on what board it is its usually not too hard to open them up
yea it looks perfectly fine i can show a pic of it if u want
Does the number row just type the letters from 2 rows down?
Or are they different letters?
That looks like the bottom row yeah
Can't rule out a software issue but that looks like a hardware problem
Shorted pins or something
I’m currently taking it apart to send a pic of the pcb
None
Any switches will do
whats a good place for europe country to buy those fancy and cheap DIY programmable keys keyboard that dont require software for the macros to work like on razer's?
I have no idea what switch to go for
Because I'll be using it for typing but also a lot of gaming
Maybe browns?
It doesn't matter
Get the ones that feels the best for you
does anyone have any opinion on evga z12 keyboard
I've been told that the C2 probably isnt a great option for how much it costs according to the PC Help Hub Server, so not sure anymore
Hard decision as it has to be a full 100% computer
So as far as I've seen from recommendations 100% keyboards aren't very common?
Or at least are quite expensive
fullsize is hard if you want somethnig cheap hexgears boards are nice it's on sale on aliexpress
I'll have a look
it's like 60ish for a hotswap board with khail switches
get one that says hotswap! also check for the official sore
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B09C2DLCPG?ref=ppx_pt2_dt_b_prod_image is this a good deal
Do you have a hexgear board you'd recommend?
they are all the same almost gk705 is quite decent choice
Thanks
id get keychron c2
What about the EVGA Z15, mechanical and Kailh hotswap
Gives you a few extra switches to try too
Apparently the stabilisers are bad on keychron boards
Do you have one?
4
impressive
q1, k6, c1 and c2
not really but thanks
I was able to get a 10% discount on the C2 so the price with shipping is 75 euro
Is that a decent price for it?
yea I'd say so. the c2 at its cheapest can only be bought at 70$ (as far as im aware) due to keychrons high shipping cost
no, that is membrane, the Z15 is a good deal right now
Anybody know a good 75% keyboard?
the keychron K2 is pretty solid
budget?
not really a budget but nothing CRAZY EXPENSIVE
give me a number, my normal could be your "CRAZY EXPENSIVE"

is the Q1 worth it?
yea
its a aluminum case, gasket mount, gmk (good rgb and macro software)
south facing rgb, high quality keycaps (ill be it I personally find them ugly)
should I use base switches or get my own
what are some good linear switches for gaming?
and im sure you're aware but if you get barebones you'd also need to get keycaps
ya
doesnt really matter, what ever you like the feel of, if you really want you can get speed switches but I personally dont find an advantage in using them over normal switchs
uhm, loot at like drop.com I think they jsut came out with some pretty nice black and white keycaps
thx
if you want to look at nice budget options akko jelly blacks are pretty nice
or for speed akko jelly silvers are pretty nice
hi gaymers
any suggestions for a wireless low profile TKL? Looking for short key travel and some tactile feedback.
Ideally powered by AA/AAA batteries
Keychron k5
I dont know any keyboards with aa/aaa batteries they all have lithium batteries for good reason
i mean that reason is mostly just that they're backlit and LEDs take a lot of power
but that's a lot of requirements you'd probably have to build it yourself to get all of them
leopold makes some bluetooth ones with AAAs https://mechanicalkeyboards.com/shop/index.php?l=product_detail&p=8719
it's gonna be bluetooth and non-backlit to be using AAAs
but yeah keychron k5 w/ browns or logitech g915 tactile is the closest you're gonna get to meeting all of them
the k3 looks awesome, i'm gonna have to pick up one of those https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08LSJ4RHH
NuPhy Air75
you might hate the colour scheme though, but it’s not RGB or rainbow puke
【Innovative COAST Keycap Design】:For Air75 to bring a better typing experience, we designed the world’s first ultra-thin PBT keycaps. With form and function both in mind, we adopted an ergonomic spherical keycap design of 4.6 mm thickness, giving you an excellent experience on Air75.Made of highl...
Oh well it’s 75% mb
Still a good keyboard
anyone know a good keycaps set for the apex pro
any cherry style keycap will work
What switches does it have? Afaik keychrons are usually modular so i could theorectically put some Kalih Chocs in there, but still interested to know
gateron
just get the hop swap model
It will do, but i'd have to scheme up some thing to get it from Amazon since they don't ship here
Thank you
ah gotcha, amazon has a decent amount of keycap sets, should be able to find smthn you like
tbh seeing how much better the RGB controlled by QMK is with keychron boards, i regret getting this GMMK pro
but i'm not about to buy a whole-ass new keyboard just to correct for that
:)
i have a history of doing that
i have a keychron Q0 to go with it btw
can confirm; using VIA to set it up is 1000000% better than literally any RGB program in existence
why keychron
Been looking into the MX keys mechanical as I’m a mac user. Was wondering people’s opinions on it.
Do you mean switches
Nah Q series is wayyy too underhyped
How so?
Budget?
Sorry if wasn’t directed towards me, but no Logitech makes a wireless keyboard called the MX keys. I had that version, but didn’t like the key travel and feel, so I’m looking at the new version they released the MX keys mechanical. I’ve never looked into mechanical keyboards, so I figured something preconfigured might be a good start. Then I’m one of the people who loves Apple’s low profile wireless keyboards, and their macbook keyboards. * the new non butterfly ones*
Why don't you use the apple keyboard if you like it?
Was thinking up to $175 US
Any specific features you want? E.g: wireless, lowprfile
I’m lookin into something different as the short key travel and closeness of the keys since they are low profile makes it hard for me to figure out the right key as I’m blind so I have to use a screen reader which is all keyboard based combinations. The problem is starting to effect my productivity, so thought a mechanical keyboard would help since the keys have some spacing between them.
But feature wise wireless for sure, and other than that as I mentioned above having some spacing between keys to help separate them would be nice.
The Das Keyboard 4 Professional for Mac is a high-performance mechanical keyboard designed for the best Mac compatibility. Constructed with Cherry MX mechanical switches, aluminum top panel, two-port USB 3.0 hub and NKRO for the best typing experience.
Not wireless, hmmmm.
Take a look at keychron, all of they're keyboards are compatible with mac
Sadly only K series is wireless if that's a priority tho
Yah keychron K series is very good
realforce R3 or a HHKB hybrid
both have wireless and mac keys/versions
Can you replace Cherry style stabs with durock stabs
don't know if they are the best ... I know they are good
they're good yea, I dont think i'd call them the best thrers other good options but they're often thought to be the "best"
Update: the keyboard just arrived today. Seems to be working fine
and yes, I got the g413
nicee
a Black RGB full Keyboard with MX Cherry Brown keys within 150$
do you think I should get Corsair?
I want either Corsair, Logitech or Razer (though I don't know Razer's version of cherry brown)
why you want to be locked with those companies?
my parents would be buying it. I don't think they would trust even razer or corsair
I see, just get waht ever you like the look of, razer and corsair are both shit so
ye i saw corsair reviews, keyboard design is not good, and razer too expensive
if you could see if you could get a keychron or an akko keyboard
does anyone know how to switch a keychron c1 back to windows layout
i somehow put it into mac and i dont know how to put it back
yeah i read it
it just says that it can do it
but doesnt say hiw
how*
oh i did something
and it worked
turns out the switch bside the connector is the key
The switcg beside the usb c that says win - mac
best akko linear?
what would you reccomend
I like my akko jelly blacks
i had a friend with a keeb with lubed nk creams so i'll look and compare a bunch of cheaper switches because im getting mixed answers in other servers
switches are all prefernace, just pick what ever you think YOU'LL like
personally dont like nk creams as I find them very scratchy
issue is that i don't know what i like
all i have is a shitty k552 with blues LMAO i was a stupid asf 12 year old
depends but i personally like jelly blacks
that what i have in my keeb rn
same
gateron yellows werent bad either, I couldnt type for shit on them for some reason tho
they felt the same to me other then the weight
so i went with the blacks bc of the thocc
arent yellows the same wight at 50g?
maybe? idk
the blacks ust felt a little heavier
just*
what keeb are you running rn
q1
45 for $17
Kailh deep sea. silent, low force 🤤
even better
yeah they're 3 pin
fastest and quietest switches i've tried tho i haven't tried a ton
hated the speed coppers they're so weird. they actuate like at the very top it's really hard to get a feel for and i kept pressing keys i didn't mean to
MX Red vs MX Silent?
Speed copper bump is on top ... they don't actuate at the bump but lower than the bump
yeah but it like actuates and then there's like just 3mm of travel past that that does nothing, it's a very weird feel
had to put huge orings on them to get rid of the extra travel but yeah they are hard to use you have to type really carefully on them
i like to just mash the keys all the way down so silent linears are the way to go for me lol. or low profile
well i guess i'm just a spaz i can't use them without accidentally pressing extra keys
and just don't like the feel, i like low travel but with actuation near the bottom
getting some low profile gateron browns to try out they seem interesting
2.75mm travel 1.5mm actuation
how like razer ?
Are there any standartized layouts smaller than 60%?
tehy make shitty keyboards
40%
How long are stabs for ANSI layout
usually 6.25u on space bar and 2u on modifiers
no
Is this for a specific type (plate mounts, screw in etc.) of stab or for all types
