I checked it out, seems dope, a bit expensive but might be what they're looking for. Thanks!
Is making a keyboard hard?
not really
if you want to create the wiring, connectivity, media keys, bluetooth chip all by yourself yes
Ah
if you buy a barebones kit like a sane person and install your own keycaps, stick with the given connectivity, and put in your own switches then no
its really just prior knowledge and time
the easy way is to just get a barebones kit from Glorious or other reliable companies, put in your own switches and keycaps, customise secondary functions in other software
@shy thistle
You would need a proper milling machine, soldering kit (if you want switches to be a permanent selection), expensive raw materials to do this
so save your own sanity and buy a barebones kit then put in premade switches
Ok well many people say that soldering is NOT fun
exactly why you buy something called a hotswappable keyboard
Have you ever built a keyboard
which attaches the switches to the PCB, presumably by conductive pins or something from which you can lift the switches out
no, but this is prior knowledge and second-hand experience, seen someone do it
I wish I saw people do this in person or at least looked at a mechanical keyboard (we only have membrane)
all I can say is, expect less mushy feeling and more canyon-diving; the key travel is twice as deep
soldering is dun
fun*
its very relaxing
and it sorta makes you feel that your keyboard is really yours and you made it with passion
and hotswap can sometimes be unreliable because socket failure and popped sockets
and maybe the socket may even be dead
How many hotswap boards encounter this issue within warranty
its very rare though
and its mostly with cheaper ones like gks
and if you have solder only options, you can millmax which is basically hotswap but you solder sockets on
and use them like hotswap
and millmax never fails
just get a tkl and then get a numpad
Nah that's lies soldering is great (if you have a decent solder iron and solder)
Hotswap socket can be changed if the breaks out of warranty
And some talent too ... which I lack ...
solder fumes
Yea there is some talent/knowledge to get a good bond but even if you have no idea what you're doing you can still pretty easily get things to bond just maybe not the best
Just don't shove your nose in them or work in a small enclosed space
are you working in a room with no ventilation or somethin?
Cuz its not too bad unless theres nowhere for them to go
yea
that sthe best rgb fps keyboard
Had 65% before it was cool 😎
Just found out about PCIe NVMe SSD enclosures yesterday
Is the RK920 good?
budget?

im looking for a 60% red switch mechanical keyboard
then rk61
This one?

And $25 under budget. Thanks!
Can u guys recommend me a good but relatively cheap mechanical keyboard
Invest in Keychrons
Or happy hacking
Whats keychrons
a brand of keyboard
which is the best switch for Keychron K10 Wireless Mechanical Keyboard?
all the options suck just get the cheapest one and swap them out
anyone here who owns a g512 from logitech ? If you do, would u recommend it to me ?
hhkb are far from cheap tho ...
I would not recommend it no
rule of thumb: dont buy any logitech/razer/corsair keyboard
they're fine if you dont know anything about keyboards. just get whate ver tytpe of switch you want
im looking for a gaming keyboard like low profile laptop ones, any suggestions?
"normal" keyboards feel uncomfortable to me and make it harder to type
is AKKO good ?
yes
or cooler master ?
mechanical keyboards just released a low profile keeb
its hotswap with kailh choc swithes
switches
tfw phone typing speed beats majority on PC
highest I've got so far on PC
"when you get lucky and don't miss click"
my average is about 130 on PC and 75 on mobile
150 burst and 95 burst
with a bit of luck, I get above that
usually if it generates easier words, lel
tho I've had this on mobile once, but it wasn't timed, it was 10 words
IPhone types a lot nicer than the phone I had before
would get typos 24/7 on my previous or it not registering
if you have the Pro Max's you're lucky
phone screen larger = larger keys, less typos
I'm with an iPhone SE 2nd gen
kekkers
on this website the switch type I use affects my typing, the switch sounds either aid with or disturb my concentration on the typing test content
I find Buckling Springs, Gateron Black Inks and Topres very annoying
Gateron Red Inks, Holy Pandas, Tealios, Cherry MX Browns
standard iphone 13
6.1 inch
I just have very very thin fingers
I have a large hand, pudgy fingers
palm gripping my Logitech Pro X Superlight = pinkie touch mousepad
it is hard finding comfortable mice for me, lel
would need some very small mouse
if you've owned a Logitech G203/305, or the Pro series those are suitable for pretty much every hand size
and for me a fingertip grip was possible on both
superlight at least is to large for comfortable use
I'm a medium-large handed fellow
oh dear 💀
have you tried the G203?
size wise bit to much, width tho
currently use MX master 3, which because of its ergonomic design, well
ig you could try a Steelseries Rival or Pulsar/Pwnage
Pwnage's Ultra Custom wireless ergo looks tiny to me
next mouse I'm gonna get is the xtrfy mz1 ... the shape looks nice and the upcoming wireless have nice features too
I'm gonna get the wired one and if I like it then later I'm gonna get the wireless
do you type qwerty?
yes
then there is hope.
why?
ive kinda plateau'd around 130wpm but have always wanted to type faster
just type faster lmao
of course it is
its on a crappy keyboard as well tho
membrane
pure luck tho
usually peak at like 145
7 finger typing on a crappy membrane
poggers I'm a 7 finger too 🥳
faster keyboard i have for typing is an old compaq membrane board ...
please help. the key next to my 1 key (IIRC i think is called) when i press it it right clicks on wherever my mouse is. Can someone help me change it back to normal
its this key
what keyboard do you have
I don't need assistance. I just need someone to mourn with me. Ordered an epomaker 96% and a few of the sockets came shorted out somehow, right out of the box.
:c
f
ok
what keyboard
looking for a good wireless keyboard thats smaller than normal size also with rgb under 60
The Vortexgear Core is the perfect solution for limited spaces in situations. It features individually programmable keys with 4 layers customization options, all easily set through what you want. Main Specification: - Tiny size keyboard with 47 keys - Cherry MX Switches - Arbitrary programming - ...
(thats a joke I can suggest a far more practical and better board)
keychorn k6 and the royal kludge 61 are both pretty nice options
Keychron K6 Compact Wireless Mechanical Keyboard. 65% Layout. Wireless or Wired. Users can hot swap every switch in seconds with the hot-swappable version. Compatible with Mac, Windows, iOS, Android, Linux. Optical or Gateron Switches. Connect up to 3 devices. 15+ RGB Backlight
I'm looking for a wired, TKL mech keyboard, backlit, brown or equiv switches. Would like to spend less than $130. I'm considering steelseries apex 7, glorious gmmk, corsair k70, reddragon k552
any suggestions along those lines?
none of those, Id personally recommend: keychron q3 (over budget), Keychron k8 pro, or akko
also if you wanted to save some money keychron c1 is quite good and pretty cheap. but it doesnt have as many features as other options

hey does anyone know how to pair a sculpt keyboard to a usb reciever
I'ma cop this. I've been needing a cheap under 60percent keyboard for a good price, this shouldn't cost much.
Besides my desk is quite small need to save space
Corsair K1
Ik
And it’s the F key
Ik...
The keycap really hates being an April fools joke
Corsair doesn’t make that anymore, it was a troll
anyone know if this is a reliable/quality product?
https://mechanicalkeyboards.com/shop/index.php?l=product_detail&p=1507
mechanical keyboards.com are usually pretty reliable, but I've nbever bought from them.
if I've never built a keyboard but want to build one, how much could i expect to spend on all the required parts
Like full custom? Or just a barebones/kit

looks and sounds great
Cheap too.
has anyone ever used logitech g512 in the past or using rn
Yep
but its really not more than a basic mechanical keyboard with ABS keycaps and limited switch options, so best to choose from what others here may offer you
fine with it ig, ive only used a old logi membrane keyboard before i just want something durable to that extent and better than a membrane
G512 Carbon doesn’t have media keys, but if you need windows lock it’s FN + F8
the G513 is similar but comes with a memory foam wrist test
Also the keys are slightly cramped together which makes it a 100% with a small footprint
It’s got USB passthrough too so you’ll need two USB ports to power it fully
Any keyboard fans here? I was wondering if anyone knows if its okay to use EVA Foam rather the. PE Foam to put in between the PCB and Plate.
whats your budget, its not very good
are you using the eva foam balls or sheets? sheets would be fine I'd think but balls would probably make too much static charge that could risk shorting your board
like $110-120 max
alr, size?
was considering corsair k60 and keychron k2v2 too but idk much
keychron and corsair arnt even a comparison, keychron is much better
any size would do just fine
alr, any features you want? say like wireless
wireless wired anything works
lmao alr, open to lots of options then
i have little to no experience in mech keyboards ive only used logi membrane ones
akko makes some pretty nice boards but some of them are on the more expensive end:
https://akkogear.de/collections/keyboards
and keychorn makes some really nice cheaper options
https://www.keychron.com/collections/normal-profile-keyboards
Akko wurde 2016 in Shenzhen, China, mit dem Konzept der „Lifestyle-Gaming-Peripheriegeräte“ gegründet, das Design betont und eine innovative Marke für Peripheriegeräte aufbaut.
for all of the keychron boards I would recommend getting the "hotswap" variation this allows you to easiily try/replace switches
all the akko boards have hotswap by default
i guess keychron is the way i think akko charges extra for shipping to my country
aight thanks!
keychron will to
yea but its not a lot and still under budget
ah
yea akko is German and I believe keychron is somewhere in Hong Kong? not sure tho
im using a 2mm EVA Foam Sheet
yea should be fine
Hey, I got Razer Blackwidow V3 TenKeyless is it good or bad compared with other mechanical keyboard (green clicky)
this is my first mechanical keyboard so asking for reference
compared to other gaming keyboards I think its fine but compared to enthusiast boards its bad
for the price range ?
how much is it?
it was a gift so, but $100 bucks in their site
ah well for free its fine, but for 100 these are all better options:
https://akkogear.de/collections/keyboards
https://www.keychron.com/collections/normal-profile-keyboards
Akko wurde 2016 in Shenzhen, China, mit dem Konzept der „Lifestyle-Gaming-Peripheriegeräte“ gegründet, das Design betont und eine innovative Marke für Peripheriegeräte aufbaut.
Thanks!
guys I made a keyboard that works entirely on morse code
from left to right the buttons are "dot, dash, space and enter (types the word)"
so you can now type at 1/2 wpm
truly suckless
also mechanical
I’m still new to this but when it comes to putting lube on switches is it a good idea to lube the leaf of the switch?
no difference either way
yes
but it might round off the tactile bump of a tactile switch
but you should for linears
Gotcha ya! Appreciate it!
also you should watch taeha types's video on lubing switches
its rlly good
lubing the leaf is pointless if you're lubing the stem teeth
common sense pls
literally looking for a reason to waste extra time
I was nice, when I answered their question.
an answer which they ignored and then went with another that validated their reason to waste time
I'm not sure they ignored you, but responded to the person that quoted their message directly. Not really a big deal.
anyway, here's my latest keeb build.
imma just block you, you seem needlessly negative.
kek
looks nice
ty c:
Loving it so far. They had given me a TKL at work and I was dying without a numpad.
ah
Guys I have a problem with my Corsair egg keyboard every time I launch incur my keyboard rapidly connects and disconnects is it a hardware issue?
why do you need to launch iCUE
To map the extra keys and rgb
what keyboard do you have
Corsair K55RGB
ok you should probably contact corsair support
or search your issue on a forum
Alright
nicee
nice q2
replace the stock case foam with somthing denser
all q2's stock switches are kinda bad
you should definetly upgrade them
yes
linear vs tactile vs clicky?
which one you prefer
Main problem tho imo is that the USB c in the back is loose ad
it is? it shouldnt be
Tactile
Yea it wiggles
I read reviews and one guy had a similar issue
does it have conection issies?
do you prefer a light tactile bump or a regular or strong one
Nope
Light
ok
oh wait myn is too. maybe thats just how there ports are
Huh, I see
if you dont hahve conection issues dont worry about it, you shouldnt really notice it anyway
Yea that’s fair
also do you want to lube your switches youself or get them prelubed
you can get some great switches at loobedswitches
loobedswitches isnt exactly budget tho lmao
I’ll check them out
Rn I’m ok with the stock switches so this is all for a later upgrade
Still gotta finish getting the rest of my setup updated
ok
definetly lube the stabs
no need to swap out the stabs
just lubing is enough
q2's stock lubing is fine
What lube do u recommend?
The space bar sounds a lil funky
ah, in my experience its been fine
205 g 0
if you want a versitile lube get krytox 205g0
but you might like tribosys 3204 for the switches
lube is pretty much prefernce
Ight cool
just get krytox 205g0 and a brush and lube your stabs
thats understandable tho, lubing is very time consuming
shippings probably gonna be like 1/3 of the price
also that
just lube them urself
theres like 8 stabilizer housings
takes like 10 minutes
yes
you dont really need to lube the stock switches
no matter what you do to a gateron brown its still a gateron brown
Old vs new
size? budget?
Maybe TKL?
the whole keyboard yes
lol
keychron c1 is pretty nice
ok :D
akko has some pretty nice tkl's too if you wanted to spend closer to the top of your budget
ok

mechanical but its preference
I woundt get that
mechanical
also tell me ur budget
scroll up
its ok
most gasket tkl boards under 150 cad would be good
maybe keychron k8 pro
with alu case
thats under 150
ok
and its gasket im pretty sure
ok
fard
mow much is it?
I think its still pretty good
a
yea thats fair, but its still got enough going for it that you might want it over the c1
look at the price difference
and for alot for alot of peopel they're not gonna care/notice having a gasket mount
hmm
yea
idk I personally dont think its that big of a deal. the gmmk pro might as well be a tray mount its so stiff but people still buy it
not bc its good
true
bc popularity and clout
bc 'custom keeb'=clout
yea thats true
you sure?
gasket mount makes a huge difference
its not that gasket is better then the other mounting styles
its that tray mount sucks
could be wrong but I have never had anyone notice a difference with my q1 (which has no case foam for most travel) and k6
who did you ask?
like obviously most people wont feel a difference
but i bet most ppl in this discord server will feel the difference
Just like friends, all with gaming keyboards
expected
yea
Anybody have experience/thoughts on the Glorious GMMK 2? (Thinking of getting the 96%)
even though there are good reviews i still dont recommend it
why so
its just a cheap hotswap keyboard
and its like 120 bucks
you can get the akko acr 98 for like 110 bucks
it comes with much much better switches
and its hotswap
How come razer synapse won't open?
I installed it and restarted my laptop and everything but it won't launch
friend got it and said its pretty meh, wouldnt recommend
why do yo need to open synapse
Cuz its ass, also this question is much better for google and razer forums/support
Yo's I got a akko keycap set and I really like it - it just took like a month to get here. Is there any similar that are stateside?
You can find akko product on amazon
@unkempt dome ya very few though
Price are in canadian
Also this set is discontinued ... so if you want to well get it soon cause it won't be back in stock again when they are all gone
Also that set is cherry profile ... meh
i have cherry switches
And ... those have nothing to do with the profile
Any profile will work on those
Oh I get you
Whenever I type "c" on my keyboard it adds a "v" after the "c" that I typed, if anybody knows how to fix this, please let me know its getting very annoying.
Sometimes it will fix itself but will shortly go right back to being like it is.
what keyboard
Some cheap Amazon mechanical keyboard
Do you just use regular lube for stabilizers, and if so, are there any alternatives for lube, don’t have any
Try another keyboard on the PC. If the problem goes away, bingo - something is wrong with the problem keyboard's controller board or keyswitches. Could need dust blown out from between the keys, could be liquid damage if you've ever spilt anything on the keyboard, or could just be a defect / worn out switch.
Thanks, it was just super dirty
where are you from
US
Do you have harbor freight near you?
They have "Super lube" which is actually great for almost anything
Yea one about 20 min away lol
Thanks
lmao
Lot of people buy that cause they don't know about mechanical keyboard...
Then some learn at some point
yeah true
they want the same feeling as typing a typewriter
not just the tactile feedback, but the audible feedback as well
Im loving my Keychron K8
i’ve seen videos where o-rings are put on the key caps and others where they are put on the switches. what’s the difference and what does each do?
pretty sure its just different way to put it on, it ends up in the same spot either way
I built my girlfriend a custom, literally stole her cheapo prebuilt with off-brand blues, and destroyed it.
ha did her a faovr
favor*
I like to think so.
I typed on that mx blue for like 18 secs
and i hated myself
believe it or not I used to use that at work
like 8 years ago
i dunno they’re good for percussion sections
bruh
what a waste of a perfectly good keyboard
I exaggerate. I just desoldered the crappy blue switches. The PCB is right near me and in perfect condition.
kids in africa could have eaten that keyboard
im jk
but off brand blues are fine, i use off brand reds as my dailies and they are amazing lubed and modded
just recycle it
the plastic
Might not be that impressive to some but finally got a new record, my average is 92.
above average, mine is around 102
that is on tests, I'm a lot more accurate at 70 wpm
my top recorded was... I think 150 wpm
Impressive, my biggest thing is numbers.
same here, accuracy is a dwarf in comparison
when I'm trying for a typing esports comp
my keyboard (Keychrom k2 v2 hotswap rgb) produces a squaky sound when typing
how to get rid of that
138 on 10 word test, 87 on typeracer, 106 on monkeytype 15s
great!
i cant change keyboard language anymore, how to fix?
Finally done with a university assignment, now I can sit down and design a new keymap for my keyboard 😄
what’s a good site for buying custom keycaps, like, different colors? i was looking on etsy but the sellers didn’t say who manufactured them
akko has some nice caps
pimpmykeyboard which is Signature Plastic's retail outlet
this might not be the place but does anyone know how you could possibly increase the actuation distance on silver keycaps?
wdym by silver keycaps?
I have some cherry silver switches and I've been looking for a way to increase their actuation distance to make them less sensitive
o ring is one solution, but ofc it comes with the cost of making your switches feel mushier
im not entirely familiar with how the switches work but there isnt any software solutions?
nope
this is not hall effect switches we talking about
unless you want to add an artificial delay after the actuation happens
the actuation point is fixed, cause it is determine by how long the slider pole is
ah so the only way to change it without an O ring would to be shaving the pole LOL
yea
shaving and then making the pole and the rail longer
another way is to increase the spring weight
making it harder to push down, thus making the switch less sensitive
im used to a membrane keyboards so ill probably be fine with a bit of mushyness from an o ring thanks so much 😄
O ring will not change the actuation distance, just shorten the total travel distance
okay for beginners what is a really good nkro backlit mechanical keyboard?
rgb or not doesnt matter
Change the switches is the only way
Anyone got any tips for a company that sells decently priced but good Keycaps?
(I’ve got a Keychron Q2 grey)
i use a drevo tyrfing v2, its rlly premium i got it for 45 dollars and lubed, tape modded, holee modded etc
kenetic labs has nice ones
OK i have a weird question
I bought a new keyboard and it has fantastic red gat switches. It's super quiet and an excellent replacement to my velocifire. But, oddly, it feels like... more effort to type on it. I'm not sure if I explain that right. I think the keys are bottoming out.
should i put o-rings on the keyboard? would that resolve this issue?
O rings will reduce your total travel time but not your actuation time. You will bottom out quicker, but bottoming out will be more silent and softer.
preobably just has heavier springs
Not necessarily. If you want to be applying less pressure to the keys you'll likely need switches with lighter springs.
interesting
if tehy say its already quite you're not gonna wanna put o rings on it. itll just make it mushy
well when i bought the keyboard it only had three switch options
wont solve anything
most boards only have 3
Is the board hot swappable?
is the board hot swap?
Lol
yes
just get new switches if it bothers you that much then
i guess i could replace the switches.... they're new though
doesnt matter they're probaly shitty reds anyway
meh
its just so different
get used to it. or if it bothers you that much get new switches
what are they like
what switches did you have before?
i think there are browns in this velocifire but they arent hot swappable
i decided to go with reds on the new one because i heard they were quiet
thats why it feels os differnt, you whent from a tactile to a linear
it feels weird hitting the keys
its smooth right?
yes they are very smooth
stright up and down. and your old ones had a bump
You're not feeling the actuation, so you're just pressing straight down.
You'll get used to that.
the stabilizers rattled a lot on the old one too
Reds are actually faster once you're used to it.
i had no idea it was such a noisy keyboard
they're not faster
they're just smooth
Don't most tactile switches require more force?
i don't really have a lot of experience with different switches
some times yes, doenst make them faster tho. you press a tactile and linear down at the same time they're gonna respond at teh same times
i'm fairly new to the mechanical keyboard bit... i mean, i bought my velicofire in 2017 but other than buying it and using it for five years i never really learned much until the e key died
I guess so. I just always feel like the less resistance, the faster I'll be.
there is one other weird thing about this keyboard
a linear might feel faster yea, but its just preference if you like linears or tactiles
you know how some keycaps have an alternating color in the fkeys?
Thought for the longest time that tactiles would be my thing, then I tried linears with heavier springs.....
I'd much rather a heaveir switch in the 70-80 gram range than a 30 gram linear I can set off by blowing on it
this keyboard alternates white as the primary and black as the secondary color
I really wanna try linears with heavy springs, just ahvent gotten around to it. always been a heavy tactile guy but I've been curouse how a heavy linear would feel
for some reason the text on the F4-F8, which are black, don't show the backlight at all
its very odd
the backlight works, because there are also symbols... here let me take a picture rq
Oil Kings are great and akko jelly blacks are nice too.
what keyboard do you have?
kechron c1
heard oil kings are nice but I've also heard they're kinda hard to find
those keys should be lit
Haven't had a problem
are you sure its not the lighting efevt you're using
might be thinking of the wrong switchh then
Kbdfans.com has them rn I think.
actually I'm returning this one. I accidentally bought the white only model
Oops
but its still odd
Yeah that's weird.
looks normal to me?
look at the F5
Nah some of the legends are not lit like the ones near it.
the F5-F8 arent lit
well the tops of them are
but not the bottoms
unlike the white ones
yeah thats normal, its the that the black absorbs more of the light I think
so you're saying its lit
my c2 has the same thing where the bottom half of the cap isnt lit
the top half is, theres only one led and its at the top
then why are the white ones lit
its only those four keys
yes.
also i like that these keys have the keyboard functions on them, if i replace the set i wont have those
ok
i probably will though, as i want an ohio state themed keyboard
ah
ok i do have a problem you cant do anything about
whats that
its hard to type with a finger brace on your pinky
doesnt that affect all keyboards?
i dont possess all keyboards, but presumably
ig maybe not ergo boards but all qwerty boards i'd assume wouldnt pose well to a finger brace
maybe i should get one of those one-handed keyboards
of all the things my mom gave me, i wish arthritis wasn't one of them
just f1-f12?
oh wait, f13-21 not 1-12
im not sure where you could find anything like that. you could try custom caps tho
Anyone know what you call this shape of switch?
no idea
guys how do i fix my delete stabilizewr theyre wobboly and make my delet sound bad
i have the c-650w
nos
its really annoying
the wobbly stabilizer
Just normal MX type switch
The box around the cross mount is there for dust prevention iirc
I see. Ty
guys i got a new keyboard its the nos c-650w rlly good keyboard for the sale/price and theres one problem with it on the delete button the stabilizer is wobbly only one on the left is it fixable?
I've never done this before, but you could try a stabilizer mod. Some people do what is called a band-aid mod where they literally put pieces of bandaid on the surface that the stablizer comes in contact with
Others will clip off a tiny piece of the stabilizer ends. Or lube the stabilizers
Or a combination of the three
could you send a vid and i dont have any ban aid
i could try to find
but im not sure how it works'
the stabilizers are good but one is wobboly aned makes the key sound bad like wierd clicky
il goo try to find out what you mean
k ty for the help

oh ok ty
Im not an expert tho. I've never done these mods myself
im not sure if my stabilizers are removable
k il try one'
IM NOT SURE HOW TO REMOVE THEM
caps
il just get used to it i dont think this is the problem the problem is my stabilizer is wobbly so it makes a wierd clicky sound only one on the delet buttom
all the others are good sounding
like the one stick thing goes everywhere
Alright. Best of luck to you
could just use masking tape as an alternative; not one id usually reccomend but it works
no
dont do bandaid mod
its just gonna make your stabs mushy
im pretty sure its smth about wobble
like having a box is to limit wobble
not really
kailh box still have a moderate amount of wobble
theyre specifically advertised as dustproof
like thats the name of the switch; the box doesnt do jack for wobble
yeah but its probably gonna have more wobble if ther wasnt a box
its mostly the toolong
tooling
kailh box are not named box cause of the square around the stem ... it's because the actuation mechanism is in a box to make them more dust and water resistant... it just happen that the stem is shaped like that and it also help to prevent dust to get inside the switch
Hi I dont know much about Keyboards and I wanted to build an Custom Keyboard can someone help me with the parts/items I need to build an Custom Keyboard (Budget: 150 Euro's and Size: 65%)
Take a look at the keychron q2 barebones
My keyboard has been malfunctioning where Three Keys (Left Arrow, Context Menu Key, Dot (.) Key in NumPad) is somehow bind together, so whenever I press any of these keys, all of them are registering at once causing troubles. This is my mechanical keyboard, its from a local brand (probably imported from Chinese) with Outemeu Brown Switch. The keyboard has been good to me for over a year.
I tried cleaning the PCB board along with keys, but its not working. Keys are not hotswappable and soldered to the board.
Can anyone guide me solution either hardware or software ? Is there any way to disable certain key registries from the keyboard ?
qk65 when available
very nice owlabs spring
yeah that only thing i can think of is desoldering the switches
and checking if the pcb isnt broken
guys, do you think there is difference in quality between PC75B and 3084B from Akko?
Hey guys, for the sake of my friend, should i be able to fit some cherry browns in here
he has some random blue switches that came with the kb
what keeb is it
apparantly
not sure of the model but ive seen it before
so you just pulled the keycap off and then pulled the switch out
sorry for bad screenshot
he comfirmed hes able to swap with a single brown switch that came with his kb
you can fit mx browns in there but im pretty sure there are better light tactile switches
there are better options then mx browns
such as
cotton candies
he tried the browns and he said they feel nice
compared to the blues
akko lavender purple are nice too
yeah those switches i listed feel similar to browns
and ngl i dont want him to buy something he hates 💀
trust me
all the siwtches listed feel very very simmilar to mx browns
just smoother
ok
^great budget option
im not the one doing the swapping, so im not the one buying the shit
he just wanted to know if they fit
which apparantly they do
ok yeah that might be a dealbreaker
but cotton candies, pewters and corsa switches feel basically identical to mx browns
im using romer gs 💀
are those optical switches ?
but im just asking for a friend if the browns fit
as keyboards are not really my bread and butter
cause I don't see the holes for the contact pins ... or I'm blind ...
and if i had a choice id just buy a ducky kb
i found a g910 on a 70 percent sale on amazon almost a year ago and have been using that ever since
what are your views on romer gs
only 3 pin (plate mount) switches will fit
i dont recommend browns
aren't the pins holes usually asymetrical and not directly each side of the pole center hole
he wants these
no
that's an optical hotswap socket
standard mx switches will not fit
thought it looked very sus
what would fit then
optical gaterons
gateron optical only
ok
which do have a brown variant I think
ill get him some gateron browns
make sure they are the optical ones, standard gateron will not fit
ok idk
this is why amazon sucks
well its not amazons vault
fault
but man is it annoying to see difference specs on the same product listing
yeah
once i was browsing for ram and i saw a page that said this ram was 3200 mhz and 3600 mhz
am checking for reviews
ok
its probably 35
gaeron only sells these in packs of 35
on their website
also gateron browns feel more tactile then cherry browns
google translate says this
hang on
ur friend should've gotten a mechanical gk61
yes
link says 70
ok the brand isnt ymdk lmfao
amazon listings are so bad
Ok
I think that's just the name of the dodgy shipper
Do they deliver to the UK
no
ymdk is the company behind the ymdk wings
one of the most popular arisu/alice layout keyboards
no
theyre not being sold by ymdk
idfk why it says ymdk as the brand
jut get it from here https://x-bows.com/products/gateron-optical-switches-110-pc
Gateron Optical Switches SWITCH COLORS Gateron Optical Blue Gateron blue switches have a tactile and auditory click when you press them. These are the loudest switches that we have available. Gateron Blue switches have a 55 gf actuation force. Gateron Optical Brown Gateron Brown switches have a tactile bump but don’
ok i quit trying to find if its 35 or 70
Sadly its not THAT cool, its a Switch Couture alice 😦
pretty
yeaa, is that cable from cable mod?
hey guys, i cant decide between royal kludge rk84, akko 3084B plus and akko pc75b plus, can you help me?
ok, and between the two? what do you think about the pc75b? im worried for the height
do you mind linking the 2 akko boards?
sure!
tyty
they are

pretty much between whcih one you like the look of more or if you want a knob or not
@spark hatch are my keys above ASA profile?
pretty sure they're the same hight and if the hieght does bother you, you can just get a wrist rest
I believe so yea
do you think the height of the knob one will be a strain?
yeah i'd like to avoid that possibly
I dont think so? you you be using the knob that much
I don't like knob on keebs
i mean, i use a lot my media controls on the keyboard i have atm, so maybe it will be cool to have a nicer feeling control over it
its not the knob height, but the height of the wrist to type/game
that's what worries me the most
ah, I donot think it would bother you
welp, thanks then!
sorry I didnt read that right
np np
how thick is your current board?
on the end, keycaps height its 4cm, on the base little more than 3cm
looked like a spring
the board is 42 mm's high
I don't think so
yeah, thanks man, as always you helped me
np glad to help
one more thing, between jelly pink and jelly black (both linear, differs for 5grams of actuation), which one do you think is the best to type/game?
jelly black sounds better
np np, thanks guys!
none are better for gaming ... it's all preference
do you want more weight or less weight
no but akko jelly blacks sound deeper
well ... you know what I think about sound ...
and that is?
oh I see, what do you want in a keyboard?
I know I want mechanical and I know I want TKL
budget?
Entry level, so I'd say under 100 dollars
looking for something to pair with the g502
ok
do you know what switch you want?
Yes, I like linear ones so probably red or whatever other name they go by
on the lower end theres the keychron c1
https://www.keychron.com/collections/80-layout-keyboards/products/keychron-c1-wired-mechanical-keyboard?variant=32321247182937
Keychron C1 Mechanical Keyboard. Tenkeyless Layout. Connects via wired type-c cable and users can hot swap every switch in seconds with the hot-swappable version. Compatible with Mac, Windows, iOS, Android, Linux. Gateron Switches. 15+ RGB Backlight
or on the higher end theres akko
I've seen people talk about akko a lot
Are those reliable boards for being "higher end"
tehy're both reliable, akko just has more features and better switches
gotcha
Would the g502 be the best thing I could get for that price range or could I do a bit better there too?
I dont know aton about mice but its all preferance
its very heavy
glorious model i is the same shape but alot lighter if you wanted somthng lighter
my experience with ultra light mice hasn't been all too great
alr
I have a razer viper and it just seems too light
ah
I've used my friend's g502 to play some games and it feels like a great casual/competitive experience. I'm just not all that great with peripherals
Like the names of them and if they are good or not you know?
if you tried it and liked it go for it
peripherals are all preference, there is no best
Thats true
All I know is he had an ornata chroma, and thats what made me want a mechanical keyboard instead of membrane garbage
ornate chroma is horrible dont get it
yeah I won't
I have a G213 😔
Razer Basilisk V3/V2/V1 and the Roccat Kone XP are attempted-hybrid mice (for FPS/MMO) alongside the G502
If you have the budget, check out the G903 too
If you want less buttons but more weight the G305/G403/G703 are for you
Arguably the Razer has a better cable but worse software
And the G903’s switches are reported to fail after 2 years, like the G Pro Wireless and G703
Alright will do
These look nothing like the G502 btw
G305 is disposable battery wireless
G403 is an oldie but goodie
this is true with any current mouse that uses chinese omron switches tbh
Explains why Pulsar, Fnatic and Cooler Master chose Kalihs
to garner buyers for their mice
Oh, and Pwnage
just so happens that kailh microswitches has bigger contact hammer that can take more beating than that of chinese omron
Since they’re not that well known
they will still suffer from under wetting current accelerated oxidation tho
70 million clicks I believe
Does not sound like a pleasant scientific phenomenon to me
What I understand is if there is any switch exposure to moisture it will start to oxidise and eventually fail
Electrically open as in cut off from current?
Oh I see
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v5BhECVlKJA
this video has opened me up about the infamous problem
This is an extremely detailed report on all the technical variables that are relevant to the plague of prematurely 'failing' OMRON switches on modern PC mice that more and more users have experienced lately, like the popular Logitech gaming mice (and other manufacturers too): this is NOT an attack on brands and manufacturers, but I have to talk ...
Thanks Lâm ❤️
I have the mm710 and I'm very satisfied with it ... shape is almost perfect for me and seriously that's about the most important thing there is in a mouse ... if you're not comfortable with it it will just annoy you every time you use it
based
today I put o-rings on my new keyboard
i gleaned several things from that project... first, I achieved the "less finger fatigue" I was hoping for. Second, the keyboard is about 200% quieter and it was already much more quiet than my old keyboard
third, i learned my switches are pre-lubed. and fourth, I learned this keyboard doesn't have wire stablizers
nice
what keyboard do you have
keychron C1 rgb tkl with gat pro reds
So pausing at 18:10, what I have heard is there is more resistance than there is enough voltage to make the switches operate consistently as power efficiency becomes a key factor for selling mice
yea basically
and its not just power efficiency
the stm32 also allows for on board reprogrammable storage
mostly for rgb effects
lmfao
but also changing dpi and keybind
so its like trying to smash a brick wall with a wreaking ball
we now realise that could knock someone's lights out with the falling debris from such a large operation if we aren't careful/in very isolated-from-society conditions, so we make axes which are sharp enough to dig 4 layers of brick wall
however cutting out the bottom would cause the top sections above human height to collapse and create a bloodbath below its trajectory
and cutting the top would be too fatiguing to do by hand with the axe, if we were to demolish the wall in one day (reference to the latency of voltage being transferred to the switch limited by resistance)
we could just use an appropriate switch with lower wetting current, but mouse manu doesnt want to do that prob due to upfront cost
