take a look at akko and kenetic labs, they're fairly affordable and nice
yea, but it doesnt look as nice as say akko's or kenetic labs.
true
had to ask in their discord because i forgot if they sold hyperglide switches
they still light up
you should think about upgrading the switches
is shine through is a must have it really limits your options
It’s mostly for the legends
@spark hatch so do the legends still light up, the website says backlight does not shine through
probably no
Hmm going to do some more research
great
its shine through
Yeah
not backlit
it is backlit
but the legends are backlit
there is a backlight
light doesnt shine through but rgb still works and looks fine
yeah
I don't think light goes through non transparent switches no matter how hard you try 🤔
it does if there is a hole
hole through switch
a lot of switches have moles
holes
I want to see a switch with moles now
no
yes
no
im with black here lmao
how so
a skin colored switch with a bunch of moles all over it
yea nahhh
please
body hair keycaps, switch with moles and case made out of nails 🤔
everyone knows you would buy
I dont think so
So I'm looking for a white mechanical keyboard under 50$ usd. I found this on Amazon. Is there any better options for under 50? https://www.amazon.com/Mechanical-Keyboard-Gaming-Keycaps-Computer/dp/B085ZDXGZW/ref=mp_s_a_1_30?crid=WCJ8Y21BGLEJ&keywords=corsair+keyboard&qid=1647901092&sprefix=corsair+key%2Caps%2C127&sr=8-30
Sounds good, thanks
if neithr of those options aare cheap enough I think havit's kb is ok. not amazing but not horible
layout?
well rk61 is the only pure white one
These are actually pretty nice!
those are akko right?
Any layout. Dosent matter.
rk61 is pretty nice then
ah yea, thats normal for keyboard stuff tho sadly, never used akko caps but everyone ive talked to says theyre really nice
Wait the rk61 is both wired and wireless?
yes
That's perfect. Do you know if it has addressable rgb?
they have a software but ive never used it so I cant tell you much there
Alright thanks so much for the help
np
2003 Filco
Once lubed it'll be so so nice
The PBT/doubleshot caps are so much quiter
niceee
the colour scheme does not remind me of pre-2010 era peripherals lmao
looks very modern, but ig you modded it
modded
new caps
yea thought so
@swift forge would have ended up in the trash
USB cord was broken internally
I converted it to usb-c
nice
I want to pick up another 60% or 65%. What is like the 60/65 to get?
lots of options in 65%
personally would get a keychron q2, but theres tons of options for 65%'s
I don't like the layout on q2
what dont you like?
just like the exploded arrows keys and such?
I hate the gap around arrows and the floating ins/pgup/pgdn
Fully assembled keyboard with epbt 9009 keycaps collection D84 V2 KBD8X Mark II WKL KBD8X Mark II TKL Specs Case: Tofu60 aluminum case Structure: Tray Mount Typing angle: 7° PCB: DZ64RGB Hot-swap PCB (with Per-key RGB on top, no RGB underglow, Type-C interface, QMK/VIA support,SKU:DP4192) Layout: Fixed 64 keys layout K
tofu is nice
@spark hatch do you know of anyone who has a like "switch sample board"
I am between MX Browns
and maybe ZealPC
though I am not sure
zeal has acouple switches, which one specifically?
Zilent
never used this personally but I saw someone recommended it not to long ago:'
U can pick and choose a bunch of different switches to try and find your preference here
those are pretty strong silent tactile switch while browns are a very light tactile switch (not silent)
Hm maybe I like this https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mesPLqoJksk
https://shop.modedesigns.com/pages/sixtyfive-configurator
Build Stream: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lNJQktpybZo
Keyboard: SixtyFive
Plate material: Aluminum (half plate)
Keycaps: GMK Minimal (with Mr. Sleeves samples)
Switches: Cherry MX Black
Lube: Krytox 205g0
Stabilizers: Genuine GMK screw in, lubed and clipped
Springs: TX 65g long
T...
also a nice board
This hobby...
yes
oh, I must have got it mixed up with some other board oops. ty for correcting me
im confused
this is over priced for what you're getting basically
might have mixed up with kbd75v3 or kbd67
Cherry MX Blacks are used as MX Blue keyboard spacebars
yea looks like thats what I was thinking of
they are heavy, mind y ou
Correct me if I'm wrong, but they're a heavy clicky switch with 80gf actuation force
on soldered boards with them*
well youtube do be saying funny things it seems
not saying it doesn't, but does it feel heavier than the other keys to press?
I'd have to go check but i do not believe so
mx blacks at 60g no?
I'll check online sources
I think it was MX Greens or something that has 80gf
whats mx blacks and blues have to do with anyhting tho? they're looking for a nice 65% build not switches
I assume that thing comes w/ switches?
I think you're thinking of mx greens maybe
yea
yea
apparently they're used in place of MX Blues on keyboards with the switch (the blues) for spacebar
people use black cherry pies as the spacebar switch for mx blacks
and i saw a person use only black cherry pies
idk how the person has that much budget
dang
is that expensive/
black cherry pies or the switch tester?
the budget comment
oh, the tofu60. Its 300$ so its getting up there yea
are there any other good 60-65% setups I can specify switches in
that is a nice board
out of stock 😦
yea~ group buy
wtf is up with all these group buys
cope
its sadly just how the community does things
I heard this is quite nice too: https://www.momoka.co/zoo65
yeah
its like 189 on drop
Is there much I can do to my Filco project to make it nicer to type on
its soldered
I bought 205 and 105 lube
should be here tomorrow
can I foam it or anything
its on MX Browns
useless if ur not gonna desolder
oh thats handy
@chrome raft you got a link to that on drop
oh yea, you can put foams, tempest mod (tape pcb), swap out switches (if you're cool with desoldering/soldering)
Ah I was interested until i saw the markings on the back
I mean its always facing down so you wouldnt see it, but I totally agree it doesnt look amazing
just get the qk65 if its in stock
its not
of course its not
is the Asus TUF K3 a good choice for a budget mechanical board?
or should I get the Coolermaster ck550v2
ASUS TUF keyboards?
what's wrong with them?
Mine is a asus tuf gaming k1 and ive been using it for a solid 2 years
nvm
but you can get higher quality keyboards like those from Keychron or Ducky, they're not for gaming but Ducky has been through some keypress latency tests and scored <5ms on them, so try the Ducky One 3
not nvm they're still shit
so the ck then?
yes but very expensive
more than 100
Can you get anything directly from companies or does everything have to ship through like amazon
i usually buy stuff from amazon
since almost every brand that has their own website has to ship through amazon
Keychron is a pretty good deal actually
Dang ... looking good ...
Premium ... heard they are quite good ... would go for that if you have the budget
Akko 3068b multimode ... pick you color of choice there's a lot of them
switches came in today
Gazzew Pink Tops
Gazzew Purple Bottoms
Gazzew Silver Silent Stems
G Pro Wireless only comes in black
and that mouse lacks the three dots that would've otherwise been battery indicators
i.e. percentage status LEDs, all green is 70 - 100%, two green is 50-70, two yellow is 30-50, one red is SOS <29%
Ninjutso OOX
i just put on like
medical tape / masking tape
as my mouse grip

it grips just fine
i mainly need it to stop staining the mouse itself
well I knew already it wasn't a GPX, because that comes with black grip tape
i could use it without the griups, just that it will get shiny with my sweaty hands, real fast
my hands sweat on the GPX too, so I applied grip tape to the non-side-button side, i.e. the right side if you're a right-handed user

it has stopped attempting to be powered by petrol and installing a rocket thruster ever since, Elon Musk it won't be another while before my mouse tries to become your apprentice
i need a wireless keyboard with mechanical switched. idc which ones tho i prefer brown switches
Keychron / Royal Kludge
Easily the best budget recommendations
both have wireless functionality
tho Royal Kludge has 2.4ghz dongle
under 40 bucks i expect?
oh
go RK
ok
thnx
those are around 40 bucks
np dude
RK87 has Bluetooth / 2.4ghz dongle / wired mode
the keeb im using right now is the smaller one
RKG68
from Royal Kludge too
its a really good budget alternative
yup!
ok thnx
@chrome raft What do those switches you got feel like
They really are - just going to PBT/DS caps made it like a good 10% better
Feel like typing on premium membrane keebs
haha
same as my U4's back then
Silent Tactiles, the tactility is reaaaaaly D-shaped
and quiet
same as this
these are linears and i absolutely love it
interesting
tis like there is foam inside

but in realiter
the stem sliders have rubbers on the sides
Where did you order from?
that dampen the bottom out and upstroke
but he stoppped doing it as it was sterssful
yeah that sounds like a headache
said just order in official outlets
this is basically a frankenstein of his different parts
The group buy concept saddens me
budget?
official outlts let you buy individually
no need for GBs
as gazzew regularly restocks them afaik
where do you live?
I like some of the builds that have copper/brass bottoms, etc.
Splitkb.com, for your ergonomical split keyboard kits and cases.
well what is your limit
@chrome raft say $500?
I was watching a live stream build the other night and it was like $750 w/o switches!

these switches was ordered like

i totally forgot about them till it cam at my doorstep
i immediately removed my Gateron Ink Reds (which were also nice feeling and sounding)
do you prefer a bouncy feel, soft feel or stiffer feel
@chrome raft I am looking for something like this https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mesPLqoJksk&t=19s
https://shop.modedesigns.com/pages/sixtyfive-configurator
Build Stream: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lNJQktpybZo
Keyboard: SixtyFive
Plate material: Aluminum (half plate)
Keycaps: GMK Minimal (with Mr. Sleeves samples)
Switches: Cherry MX Black
Lube: Krytox 205g0
Stabilizers: Genuine GMK screw in, lubed and clipped
Springs: TX 65g long
T...
but maybe a little quieter
Was thinking Zilents?
those are silent tactiles
yeah mx blacks?
mx blacks are linears
says mx blacks in title
also the mode65 is discontinued
no?
oh
trust me
i don't know the difference
I don't know - I am working on a Corsair K65 Mini
ok
it seems ok just kinda clunky and doens't feel super super nice
gasket mount seems like it'd be quietest?
Even within the same form factor and layout, the internal makeup of a keyboard affects the overall experience. While there are several ways to alter and aim for that desired feel and sound, one of the primary factors that will help you estimate your eventual build is the keyboard mounting style.&
OK yeah tray mount looks least idal
maybe
gasket mount is the softest
is there a best?
give me a second
sure
this is top mount though
watching qk65 sounds
ok
can you custom the qk65 with foam/plates/etc
So here is a sound test for all 4 plates. This took quite a while and I made sure to do them all in one swoop so nothing changes from a mic placement or environmental standpoint. You will notice that the plate foam test all sound VERY similar, well, that's because they do. haha. The ones without foam will give you a better idea of the difference...
so at 1:32 that's too cracky for me
2:26 is worse
FR4 w/ plate foam sounds best to me @ 9:30
ye
Though I dunno wtf Banana Split switches are
there just switches

11:33 that actually sounds what I am going for
you are about to spend 500 usd so id say spend wisely and watch lots of videos
before going for a single person's recommendations
also remember that all videos about a specific keyboard will have varying sounds since every recording environment is different
the room acoustics affect how a keyboard sounds
the deskmat affects it
the table, also affects it
oh def
so try to understand what each part does first then, try to extrapolate from there
but from what i am after it sounds like polycarbonate is ideal
Thanks!
One cool perk I have is that I do powdercoating as a hobby
sooooooo that opens a few doors on finishes
dont buy the gmmk pro
just get the qk65 when its in stock
qwertykeys website
don't buy the gmmk pro (2)
supah overrated
bascially just get the qk65 is you want a deep sound and some flex
Yea don't get it, had a friend get it and they said it's not very good, had really bad stab rattle and doesn't feel/sound very good
filco great
damn, nice monitor
@urban glade kinda hate the stabs on it... its a work in progress. USB-C converted 🙂
What's better than one nice monitor?
2x nice monitors
🙂
lmao, called it
hahaha
You can't center an arm on a G9 Neo
Try it
You can tho
You cannot though
Just pull it to you
Then it is way, way, way too close
Get a larger desk
30" deep
lol get a 60" deep desk?
My filcos
so what, 150cm x 700cm? LOL
Yes
OK cool - I'll get steps so I can climb up onto the desk
Get a 24 person dinner table
(and the stand would still not be centered haha)
It would
Has stops top preventy you from snapping your table edge off
both are majestouch 1
@urban glade nice that's what mine is, I think
And if not, add an extra 150cm
majestouch 2 is the newer one
Get 1000m x 300cm desk
The PCB said 2001 or 2002 on it
i think mine are newer as they're tenkeyless
yeah this was back when they only had 104
i need a fullsize sometime
i bought a hello kitty realforce r2, but it got lost in shipping
i hate them
I work a lot with IP addresses and I am just used to using top row now
full size is barf
i use tkl + numpad most of the time
but my numpad is ps/2
that wont be convenient once i have laptop lol
oh i guess i have a das keyboard 2 for a fullsize, but that doesnt have very good rollover
Older than me
😦
the oldest kbd i have atm is from 1995 i think
but the oldest i've ever had from 1988
Ancient
older than me lol
It almost graveyard level old
Get one from 1886
heh
By hand
pens r nice too
Just need to be billionaire to afford paper
very nice
nice custom loop
Thanks!
specs?
Im getting a cablemod keyboard cable
Mostly because the Keychron stock one is to short to route the way I want to but to long to look nice the way I have it now
Though the cablemod one isnt right angle
So I had to buy a right angle USB-C Adapter
Which may or may not fit into the recess that keychron uses
Also finally getting a monitor riser so I can have some desk space back and to have a place to slide my keyboard when I need to do work on my laptop
It's a Crosshair Dark Hero X570, 5950X, 3090 Ti FTW3 Ultra, 64GB B-Die (3600 MHz, 16-16-16), 2 x 980 Pro 2TB in RAID0, 14mm tubing, EK distro plate, QL120 fans, cablemod cables
Damn
sheesh
I love the QL 120 fans from corsair \
you should upgrade the fans
I love them aesthetically, not the most performant
Yeah I have tons and tons of fans - there's no need, my system copes just fine - I have a number of builds that I've done and have to compare with
This is another system I have -- it's a 5950X 3070 Ti 32GB B-Die, blah blah. EKWB 240mm AIO and I went with fractal fans for no RGB.
This one had started out as a 9900k and QL120s and I've been content since:
This is the 5950X machine earlier but with a 2080 Ti and waterblock. Waiting on 3090 Ti blocks (or 4090/ti, etc.)
The 5950X/3070 Ti I used for work for a few weeks and my mom messaged me saying she was thinking of a new PC so i gifted her that
the 9900k was dismantled and sold - have the case, rads, distro block, pump, fans, PSU, etc. waiting for next gen something
ah
My mom does AI/ML struff
so she had a pretty decent AWS bill for a while
so now she can move some stuff local
ah, thats nice. prolly made it way easyer then
for some things
Why gift a parent thousands
You joking?
bruh
think how much they would have spent on you over the years? still would be way more than acouple thousond on a pc
I have a 7 mo old and a 3.5 year old... $3k PC doesn't cut it lol
yea~
They took more than they gave 🤔
food, school fees, toys of sort, maybe some sporting activity, clothes, ect
thats gonna add up to way more than a high end pc
Didn’t live with either, and my mother just took like 50000€ of savings other family members put aside for me and give me 11k debt
So in my case, atleast no
im sorry to hear that. but in most cases thats not how things work out
And still, I don’t count spending money on something the child doesn’t want even if they did (other than basic needs)
Because it isn’t spent for you, it is spent for themselves on you
You do you, but my mom was widowed when I was 3 and did a lot
She's the reason I am even into PCs today
I would wish I never got into audio, PC, etc
Sounds like you have some issues to sort out
A lot cheaper, and your “requirements” or well, your standards grow with you
My mom showing me how to bang around on a TI 99/4A is not why i have what I have today lol
Ew, cars
Also audio worse honestly
Audio can go into stupid costs just because of sound signatures good for different music genres
Cars can be devastatingly expensive
Audio can reach into 5mil
indeed
Nor do they explode their insides out on a race track
constant maitence
And also electricity
pft
Anyone comparing a highend audio setup to a high end car has never owned a high end car
Try looking at High end speaker systems
I am very familiar
My parents have had custom setups installed
Still doesn't have $5k connecting rods that last 3k miles
“Doesn’t need a whole garage” Doesn’t need a garage, but it needs a room with sound treatment to do its best
do they have maintenance?
I can't fit 7 cars in a studio
Keep a whole room proper quality
I have $700 torque wrenches for TTY bolts to put the engine together... cars are infinitely more expensive
700$ is like a single cable, lel
Buy multiple
Seen easily speaker setups of 1.2mil+ total
Makes a high end stereo look like a bargain
whats the green car in the back?
Ever have an engine block ceramic coated? LOL
That's my ~1100 hp 5 series
Feel like the audio you know is like 50000 max
damn, nice nice
@crimson isle Bud - I don't want to brag, but my parents had an 8,500 house with about $300k in home theater in it
It was obnoxious, but it was set it, forget it, sold with the house
It was impressive
But nothing like cars
My brake rotors are $8500 LOL
Both can reach over a mil quite easily if you want to
For sure - except one just works unless it is damaged, the other needs rebuilding a LOT
cars can go far over a mill
Just the tools to work on shit properly
$10,000 worth of clutches..... which wear... and need to be replaced
Nevermind the labor of actually replacing
Speakers don't do this 🙂
Think about the most you could spend on audio is like 2.5mil without adding gems and stuff
Cars… idk
(Painting a car doesn’t count, aesthetic changes) but probably a bit more, idk
Auction
If you park it, and it sits, it rots and needs maintenance
and?
So does speakers and all the room treatment, because everything ages
You can build a Pagani Huarya for like $7 -8M
you're not gonna walk into a dealer and find a car from 1962
You can walk into a Pagani dealer and build a $7M car
At that point you can just grab like some celebrity owned vehicle or device, and instantly 500 mil
There has never been a celebrity owned car for $500M
Auction it to some mega fan
There'
There's a reason things sell for what they sell for
It's because someone is willing to pay it
No one is going to pay 100 fold over a cars value unless its worth it, which that is not. Anyway, a $250k home stereo woudl have been a better investment than my cars lol
I would just get an airplane
Can't touch an airplane for $250k
i would just get a house
I unfortunately do have a house
Depends
a good one
lol a good one
i would just get an electric car for 250k and forget about it
I would probably only get a house of like 50-80m2 if I built from scratch, tho half would be pretty much empty because I can do with 35m2 on my own
why do you need 4 ovens
I don't have 4 ovens
I have two ovens, a steam microwave, and a warming tray
But why
Because I like to cook
1 is enough tho? Oven that is
warming tray is usless lmao
Different types for different things
@crimson isle very hard to roast a turkey and sides in 1 oven
Ig
and when said sides are done, putting in warming tray makes it not cold 😉
nice nice. I live in a renovated garage atm lmao
I am lazy when it comes to cooking, I am lazy
I am that one who grabs a pot, grabs rice, some random vegetables and fish/meat/others and just boils it all
ew
I haave a wood burning stove and no ac
@spark hatch I wanted to do a wood stove but very tough insurance wise
unless detached from house
I care about Efficiency and nutrition not about taste, lel
@crimson isle then you wouldn't boil food
Most efficient is just throwing it in a single pan
im asian and that sounds abominable
Boiling results in the greatest loss of nutrients, while other cooking methods more effectively preserve the nutrient content of food. Steaming, roasting and stir-frying are some of the best methods of cooking vegetables when it comes to retaining nutrients ( 12 , 13 , 14 , 15 ).Jan 24, 2017
now put all that in a hot pot... mmm
nope
even if you pay me like 500 bucks i wont eat it
Be me, and just do single pot for everything
whaaaaaaaaat - have a friend who lived in chengdu for a couple years
yep lived there for like 4 months
I don’t feel like wasting hours per year on cleaning and preparing
Dish washer would be nice, lel
bruh you shouldn't treat urself that badly
imagine 2 dishwashers
naw I got one big boy
Sucks having to wait to start wool, white and color separately
yeah the big boys have 2 separate areas
wait how many pots can you store in there?
that angers me
I mean a sink and hand cloth works just fine for washing dishes, especially if you live alone. doesnt take long
Probably as much as I can use
yeah single person sink cleaning is good
Two
thats what i do
I am deeply saddened
30 minutes
Easily
TIL kb snobs store their dishes in dishwashers
how tf do you wash dishes?!
if the disk doesnt have grease
Especially because I have 4-5 meals a day just to stay on weight
So I have to clean everything 4-5 times
its efficient
i didnt pay for the dishwaser
It’s annoying to do every single day
Heh - I run the dishwasher twice a day
I wouldn’t even take out the dishes from a dishwasher
have a 7 mo baby who goes thru bottles like you wouldn't believe
jsut dont let the grease sit, wash it right after you're done using it
yes
Imagine 10x pans and pots, 20x glass, 20x plates every single day
how many ppl are in ur family
Just me
im one person, how on earth am I gonna use that manny things
use the same fucking things xd
just wash when you finish eaching 1 corse
I use the same plate, cup, and utensils every day
I rinse my glass out like 8 times a day
and then use the thing for the next course
takes like 30 seconds
Yep
yea
Same, just have to repeatedly clean them every time I eat
Dinner is the only thing I do properly
Don’t feel like cleaning oil off 24/7
did you desolder?
no not a full greasing, just from top side
cook once in the morning and then just reheat it thorugh out the day
makes a huge difference even just that
Can’t reheat food without something to reheat it on
When you reheating it requires the same amount as just making it when you eat it makes no sense
Making it when you eat: needs pan and plate
Reheating it: needs pan and plate
that doesnt really do much
It did on this ancient Filco
Just did the spacebar w/ costar stabs, insane the difference
What do you do in life and what do I have to do to end up with the same job as you ... ?
Have billionaire parents
Maybe ... but that I can't do
@crimson isle my parents are self employed, I don't work for them, and they've never written me a check
So, to correct you, go to school, be smart, work in IT, and never settle
Smart doesn’t exist imho
That's the most ridiculous thing I've ever heard
Just thinks and doesn’t think
That's unintelligent
I have friends who think all day long and can't figure shit out
Can’t really call someone smart for being able to remember which buttons to press and hold
What?
thats not how IT works
All that a human does, is push, pull, twist in a different frequency/pattern
If you think the qualitative measure is [X] Think [X] Don't think then I would like to reassure you there's a reason I make over $200k and it's not that mindset
But if you want to persist with that, more power to you, but that is absolutely not how this works at all
It’s what every job is, in combination with memory
You're not employed are you
Like hoe coding is just knowing a language and what order it has to be put in
You've got a lot to grow yet
Yeah sure sure
Input output is what people learn
You’ve got some who can think, but that’s like one in millions, majority just follows, while a few think of some different way to do the same thing, slowly evolving it
its already discontinued?
yeah 😦
yeah sonnet meh
if you really like the sixtyfive maybe someone on r/mechanical keyboards would know where to get one
can build from parts?
yea you could just get all the parts and through it together your self, would probably be more costly though
alr
yeah - i hit them up just now asking for even barebones config
I figured that you worked in IT ... which branch of IT tho
I am a ..... virtualization/infrastructure engineer at a most senior level for a fintech company
So server building and implementation?
Sounds nebulous to me ...
That's the best way to be
Never be too focused
Whether its UCS or K8s on OEL/RHEV, etc. whatever, design it make it work
NSX-T or calico
go go go
So you studied coding to do that ?
Nope - I have a degree in management of information system
Comp Sci / EE -> MIS
I didn't learn an ounce of this in school though
In fact I have read more books after graduating than prior
^
I'm interested but there's probably not hundreds of jobs like yours
There are a lot
I won't reveal too much but we have two semi similar roles open
IT right now is completely wtf
I WFH
Free sushi on fridays lol
Yeah probably can't apply on those if I don't have any formation but just some knowledge
Lots and lots of opportunity for competent people right now starting at like +30% from where I started
@unkempt dome I just hired a former colleague who has expertise a bit outside the given role but we're sending him away for $6k training
Where is it located ?
I am in PA
Close to NJ/NYC
We're a financial tech company so we need to be near NYSE
Don't know what PA is ... Philadelphia?
I'm in Canada and don't know much about usd abbreviation
Well I wish I could find that kind of job around here
Expand your search - we compete with other ... competitors, we're all doing remote hires
Need someone that speaks french ?
haha not just yet
we're in UK/Ireland
but not France/Canada
actually that's not true we have an office in Toronot
Toronto
Well if you ever need some French translator ... just dm me
Toronto is not that far from where I'm located
Montreal is nice to visit ... not nice to live there
yeah i agree with that
there's much more nicer places than Montreal to live... specially if you like peace and quiet
deepl translate exists
So my work gives out HPE 1040 G7s and USB-C Ddocks
i live in toronto lmao
Never as good as someone that can talk face to face tho
still good enough for most ppl
I 3D printed a mount for the USB-C dock to go under-desk as well as the power supply...
it's making its rounds around the company and I have 14 people asking for prints lol
lmao
oh yea that would be handy to have mounted under your desk
For sure - it cleaned it up bigtime
that stupid cube has USB/power/DP on all sides
so it gets messy atop a desk
I am thinking of buying that Razer Core X or whatever external GPU and doing a 3070 Ti on this laptop
does the laptop have thunderbolt?
it does
thunderbolt 3
not a huge deal but I am running 5120x1440 @ 60
would be nice for 120 - 240
I see
I'd ask else were not too sure, but I think its kinda diminishing returns with external gpu's
it is
like if a 3070 Ti does 100 fps in Desktop it does like 75 fps in laptop external
but
I literally cannot run 2D @ 120 - 240 hz
and you can tell it takes all the horsepower to run 51220x1440 @ 60
Razer black widow with out the case (yes it still works and is my daily)
get something better
yes
but if it makes you happy using it go on man
btw why is it missing the case?
@charred garden bc i wanted to look better then just a razer and make it harder to recognize but rn i don't feel like dropping a lot of money for a keyboard
@chrome raft i dont have the money
so yea i am looking at a 50$ one tho
what is alot, my ducky tkl skyline cost like 100 euro
its ok
i dont have more than like 70
i would like around 50
that is a little out of my range but i will look at the ducky also im in usd
@charred garden do you know any ducky keyboard thats in the 70 range
ducky are outside your budget i think
rk61
or keychron c1
but buy the hotswap options
@chrome raft ok
@humble portal sould i get the red blue or brown witch is the quietest
for the keychron c1
linear - red
tactile - brown
clicky - blue
@spark hatch thank u
btw the sound between tactile and linear isnt that much
ok
I can send a sound comparison on the c2 if you'd like
you probably should upgrade the switches at a later date
@chrome raft maybe but again i dont have a lot of money
even though switches can be cheap
and then wait like 6 months until you have some more money
and then get new switches
ok that helps a lot its way better then my razer greens lol
lmao yea big difference
yea lol
razer greens suck
@velvet swallow like what you like but i hate the loudless of the green switch i want somthing quiet
ah ok i like the feel kinda but its a little strong? hard? idk
nah
@spark hatch i think i will get the reds but i might get the browns
its a little to loud for me lol
get a heaveir tactile then?
i have a room with like SUPER thin walls
you got me there, that do be a loud click
box whites
Let them sounds ricochet everywhere
not sheer loudness
so a corsair kb
plasticy
rattly ass stabs
Also I had like
i dont even have a mechanical keyboard 👀
250 dollars worth of caps on it at some point as a meme
razer greens?
bruh
nah i got a razer membrane keyboard lol
;-;
Corsair K70
K95 :o
This is my board rn it's loud
and the media keys being close to the top of the numpad

glued?
I molded a new back out of miliputt since I replaced the thick USB cable with a micro b port
I thought it was dried already when I closed it up, and I guess it wasn't dry enough lol
And bonded
But ya, that's how it's connected to an aviator cable lolol
ic
why is someone cutting meat on a keeb
thats hideous
@spark hatch Ducky One 3 or Keychron K8
some people have too much money...
K8 pro or just k8
K8 pro 100%
what palm wrest did you buy?
keychrons palm one
ok
I had originally got one for the c2 but I'd like to get another for my q1
is it wood or resin or resin+wood
ok
found dis
im pretty sure mk ships to canada
oh handy, ty
idrc, if it works it works
yea
you might like the look of the other ones
question for ya'll, does anyone happen to know how to fix this?
via just isnt there, tried reinstalling it but that didnt fix it. not sure what to do outside of that
No idea ... I never tried via
thats acouple
i just said to my self in april that
i would stop my keeb hobby
