they're way harder to find for me
I prefer the fat enter key
but yeah
I want more RGB
So I decided pudding
But idk which exact ones to get, black or white too. My board itself is black
ah
yea those were the ones I was thinking of
I perosnally like tho look of hyperx's but thats just based on there packaging so thats a pretty poor representation
hi ltt people, I'm going to buy a ducky one 2 mini (don't shame me ik it could be better)
my question is just:
black or white with this setup
thank you!
doesnt maatter, do you like the look of the white one or black one more?
black would match everything else and white would just stand out, I think they would both look nice
And ruin the warranty?
Its literally just the space-bar, shift, enter and all the other ones are fine
Order it for me?
those tend to be quite important
Oh and then pay 100+ dollars for customs to actually let you ship it into the country
yeah
No Biggie can just end up for 300+ dollars
thats not much
its fine then
Especially with all the sanctions
not everyone can afford a good keyboard
you don't need a good keyboard
others work perfectly fine
whatever works best for you
bruh, how do you call a keyboard bad just because of one stabalizer
good keyboard is a luxury item after all
what's happening
it really isnt
@night pecan is claiming that just because of one rattly stabalizer a keyboard is bad lmao

all stabilizers stock are rattly if they dont come prelubed its smthn you're gonna have to do
still? LMAO
hes been saying that since earlier
ikr
the stabs dont tell you if the keyboards good or not, I can put durok v2's on a 20$ keyboard. its still gonna be a 20$ keyboards. its still gonna be trash
oh my god what is this shit take

stabs is one of factor
never said it was all

there are several factors contribuing to a good keyboard, and having non-rattly stabs is one of them
along with having good quality keycaps, and good quality lubed switches
Stabs yeah sure ... switches ... not all switches require lubing
true
yea
I don't do linear
u gonna say gmk only too?
gmk is very good yes
theres a few other decent keycap makers tho
CRP, Leopold, Cherry Dyesubs
but having shitty stabs ruins a keyboard tbh
🧢
I'm gonna have to disagree, they might not look as nice or feel as nice to the touch but its not gonna ruin a build, the typing experience is gonna be basically the same
ok
i agree with the stab thing but thinking only crp, leopold and gmk make good keycaps is some real cap
truly good stuff yes
there are other
"adequate" keycaps
hk gaming pretty nice for $40
shitty company tho
i know whats good and what isnt thank you v much
okey
Hk gaming 🤢
Patiently waiting for my 4 kilograms of keyboard
dhl express 💀
damn what's that like 20% shipping
even from china all of my stuff gets shipped free
are you like in some US territory in the pacific
80 usd shipping the heck
i like how the pe foam mod makes for a kinda softer bottom out lol
not having to tape stuff in place on a board also makes it good
shame that can't be said about the aria
the moondrop aria?
that's nothing, it would've been 620$ here
don't click
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VvTSLRab7Kg i can only imagine how typing on a whole keyboard with those sounded like
hello
I'm looking for a good keyboard thats not expensive
what are things to look out for?
only thing I want is quite keys
so what switches are gud
What is your budget?
I'm not looking for a specific keyboard just advice for what to look out for
I'm not really sure of my budget but def nothing much
If you're looking for prebuilts, red or silent red will be the most quiet ones
i like leopold
thanks, prebuilts is what I'll go with since I don't care about custom keycaps and "tactile" bumps
Same, I want leopold's 1800 topre
Novatouch...?
i like tkl
i need arrow keys and function for daily use
hhkb probably good for travel
or compact
me too
I don't use arrow keys that much but I can't use a keyboard with no arrow keys
idc about compact keyboards and shit
75 is fine but tkl is prettier imo
i don't like the thicker bottom bezel
but i can see why people like it
thicker bottom bezel?
the white is really pretty but i wouldnt want something that stands out that much
First of all i am a keyboard noob,
I need a hotswapable full keyboard with media controls, cause i want to use the banana split switches on it
Everest max is abit on the expensive side for me
Thanx in advance
what layout?
sorry, I mean like what size
Full with numpad
It doesnt have avolum knob or wheel :(
oh my bad, uhm I dont really know any full size boards with a knob
The only one i could find after alot of googling was the everest Max
But it it will cost me over 300 euros all in all
Thats abit exlensive my wife would kill me
ah
yea full size isnt quite as common amongst enthusiast boards, especially more speccial ones that have knobs and such
I mean another option is just a separate numpad
the keychron q3? is a tkl board and then you could just use a separate numpad
its not released tho
The programs i use at work need a numpad sadly
yea, have a tkl and a numpad separate
so for example
Keychron Q3 is a fully customized 80% TKL layout mechanical keyboard packed with all premium features and endless possibilities. Q3 is an all-metal keyboard that allows customizable capabilities for every key switch, keycap, knob, and stabilizer. It’s made for your personalized experience and a more comfortable typing experience.
this has a knob btw, just not in there picture
just an idea
The everest max looks like a better option at this price
Thanx dude for the help
Mwah
do you absolutely need a knob? most keyboards have a fn shortcut for volume and media
^
Not really but izs nicee to have
The numpad is important
Otherwise tge c2 loooks great
Keychron c2
ehh, the q3 is an all aluminum build, it's much higher build quility
its a very nice board for its price
I am still a noob hehehe
I want to use the banana split switches so bad, i hope they will be great
the c2 comes in hotswap so if you want to try a bunch of different switches easily
yea
I guess it will come to it in the end
I need to explain it to wifie though hehehe
Thanx guys
np glad to help
I made my caps lock shift and my shift is now a Numpad layer:
so like shift+q is 1
shift+w is 2
shift+c is for 9 and shift+space is 0
and then fn q through c are ctrl+number for macros
damn
dev work mostly
although the original idea for the binding came from trying to set up for mmos
so like in ffxiv you can cast with numbers for hotbar 1 or ctrl numbers for hotbar 2
wasd to move
so if you hold shift it becomes hotbar 1
if you hold fn it becomes hotbar 2
its a bit clunky but it works
lmao, thats a pretty nice board

I like it has arrow keys
While still being 60% u kno
Nzxt now has custom keyboards
really?
im willing to bet its pretty bad
I want that mouse pad
All off the shelf stuff
looks really small
Multiple sizes for everything
They don’t offer hot swaps
hmm, maybe idk if im convinced tho
oh yea that is nice, what board is that?
Uhhhhhhhhhh it’s a poker 3 case
The pcb is a dz60rgb hot swap iirc
I got sick of my poker not having qmk
God knows where I got the pcb foam but i cut it to fit
ah
well it looks quite nice
Thank uuuu
dude there switch tests are sooo quite
Switches for the most part are Zealio 78g but I have others for different things
those blues sound tolerable
ah thats neet
I never really got into teh differnt switch for differnt things, kinda feels pointless to me
Idrc for the keyboard I just want a clean desk pad with nothing on it
I don’t think it’s pointless bc there are so many companies that make switches it’s like trying a new flavor
But some switches have specific appeal
it has there logo so its not super clean
I like the zealios bc they’re smooth but Have a nice bump
But also 78grams is not for everyone
But it’s not colored in if you have a desk pad with absolutely nothing on and white or grey please give me link
well yea, I try new switches all the time but I swap the whole board not just acouple switches
Ahhhh that’s true
Sad razer keyboard noises
I more make a board graveyard as I steal pieces and upgrade mishmashes
everytime I go back to use it I die alittle in side and question how I used it for so long
I have had mine for just over a year and since I got it I cleaned it once… last weekend
ah, thats kinda cool
n i c e
I clean myn (with air) everytime I dare even see a piece of dust on it
I want it to stay as fresh as possible for as long as possible, I hate deep cleaning my baords
I’m gonna be honest I don’t think I’ve ever cleaned any of my boards
yikes
I mean if you dont use them in a dirty environment or like eat beside them or anything they can stay pretty clean
I live in a very dusty old house so basically everything I own is dusty asf
Ahhh that makes sense
my pc cant make it a week without look very obviously dusty
ah, I have a temperd side pannel and after 4ish days you can start to see dust build up on the side of the glass so I clean it, It bothers me knowing its dirty
lol im just hard to bother
fair enough
I think the closest thing I have is I got a couple drips of superglue on my monitor
so theyre just there
lol
I wish I could just push it asside but nope I cant not notice how dirty it is
why not get a case without a panel?
how does that even happen lmao
i dont even remember
idk at the time I was on a budget for the case so I got the cheapest one I could find on amazon that wasnt complete garbage
so I ended up with the coolermaster nr400 I think its caleld
I'd love to get the lianli q58 but then I need to get itx board, new powersupply, ect
and idk if I wanna spend 500$~ on a semi out dated system thats if im being honest isnt even that good
it really does
Omron 20M
I wonder what OEM are they using for the keyboard
Bruh why tf are reviewers calling the function entry level lmao it's 120$
I didn't know those were a thing, saw Optimums video on them, now i wanna forget they exist again
they were just realeased
Does seem cheaply made in some, if not all, areas
yea
Is this the first full 80% compact?
Looks fucking weird
Aliaz switches can't be too expensive
is it?
oh I see
And when you select them you pay extra over gaterons anyways
yea
oh wow, so I've actually looked and listened to the nzxt board now. that thing sounds cheeeeeep
my 20$ keybaord sounds better than that
What switches they had on it?
myn or the nxt one?
https://www.pcworld.com/article/622839/hands-on-with-the-nzxt-function-the-premium-keyboard-for-mech-newbies.html
Le journo says it's great for newbies
The NZXT one ofc
I looked at optinum techs one
I thik reds?
Plastic case steel plate
Is this a RK84
Yeah it's going to be 200$ for an Aliaz equipped keyboard
That's really not worth it
I dont think so, maybe it could be a modified version tho?
not at all
especially with keychrons q lineup
Definitely modified cheap OEM
yea
the scroll wheel on it especially sounds bad
Which is the only thing innovative about the keyboard I think
yea
it doesnt really have anything going for it
if it was cheaper maybe it'd be an alr budget option but its priced way too high
Wait is the mouse the symm 2 wired?
I havent heard of that mouse, it could be
Seems worse though tbh
Omron 20M
This shit is literally just going to be bundled their prebuilts
I would like the layout if there was no F row
There’s a wired and wireless version
Frl tkl
Yeah ik but like viper clone that has flimsy build
Sounds like Pwnage's OEM to me
Yup
Man I wish there was a rvm wireless
Also I wish I could improve my lod on my rvm
Tkl is too big for my liking
Yea
65%
F row is useless to me but I like to have standard bottom row
Exploded 75 is my fav
Just look at all the layout options
Only the drevo calibur I found to have what I would like for layout ... but it's not hotswap
Then would have been easier to understand if you said that in the first place ... I though it was some acronyms for some kind of obscure insult or something like that
Well I got the akko 3068b anyway and I'll just deal with the bottom row
I'm really considering going down to TKL since the only reason i stayed with a Numpad is gone now
That’s 65%
Yes I know it is
If u want a good prebuilt I say go leopold

nzxt keyboard is a fucking joke
It's not good at all
I was literally joking about Le journo
How like tech journos are always wrong
If you're just going to misrepresent everything I say then I'm just going to block you
any thoughts?
its deep
Tes68 (Steel Plate)
Stock Tes68 Stabs (Clipped, lubed and holee modded)
Gateron Milky Yellow (Lubed w/ 205g0 & springs bag lubed)
Random OEM PBT Keycaps
Tempest mod (3 layers), PE foam mod and thin case foam
thats nice to hear
ah
i mean the lube
yea and for 45 dollars goddamn
first ACTUAL custom mech keyboard lols
idk if ill oring mount it or not
or just like stay to tray mount
ah
I've just stuck with try mount on my cheapo boards
but it might be cool to try a oring on it
980 Mini w/ Ninjutso OOX
looks clean!
oo that looks quite nice
https://www.amazon.ca/EPOMAKER-Pieces-Mechanical-Keyboard-Replacement/dp/B092PZG2HD/ref=sr_1_14?crid=36PYSG5SX0P9H&keywords=mechanical%2Bswitches%2Bepomaker&qid=1647463694&sprefix=mechanical%2Bswitches%2Bepomake%2Caps%2C120&sr=8-14&th=1 what one should i get from here?
Akko lavender purple are quite good tactile
my girl wants like, typewriter style keycaps but on a perwinkle/purple base with white text. . . how the fuck would I possibly find or even make something like that
look on ali express maybe?
I have been searchin lmfaoo
as an alternative, have you presented pudding caps? there’s some really nice pudding caps out there
I havent but its probably a no cos she wants the stupid typewriter style circle caps
those idk
bought this lol, good thing there was a local store
I'd considering just buying some white ones and dying them
but how would I possibly keep a white text on the front
press F to pay respecc
@chilly perch these come in pink and blue? I’m gonna look a little more tho
I was thinking
How the hell do factories dye sublimate entire keys?
I dont think thats a viable path to do
Smarter Shopping, Better Living! Aliexpress.com
wtf
is
this
cancer
thank you SO much for exposing this to me trying to find you keycaps lmao
jk
loool
So I wonder how those keys are manufactured
cos in every DIY dye sub video they use printed sheets but how would you wrap "artwork" like that around the entire key and make it sublimate and look good
it must be
That's what I imagine it would be but it might completely not be that too
suffer with me
I am
the red switched I'm finding have sound and I'm confusion now
reds still make sound, silent stitches make very little sound but not many boards come with the option to get them stock
I dont want to work on my keyboard ever
except for maybe cleaning
I just want a good quite keyboard
you dont even swap switches?
then I dont think you're gonna get silent switches
I dont know of any board worth getting that has them stock
I'm not looking for a specific board
just the right switch
Leopold have super good build quality and I'm sure they have silent red switches
I realise, theres not many options with silent switches
if its on amazon I'll get it
just get hotswap and the silent switches separate, it takes like 10 mins to swap a baords switches
I don't want to swap it
neither can I swap
I can't
why not
many many reasons
ok?
a piece of garbage
What’s ur budget
Cause for around $120 u can get a leopold keeb with silent cherry reds
idk but like not lot
Will be mushy but still silent
they don't sell here
don't get silent reds
they're just reds but mushier
sound dampening on them is ass
get the cheapest outemu hotswap board you can find get with red switches and swap them out for outemu silent whites if you really need a silent boad
Yo if u want a good budget keyboard that is great for the price I’d look at keychrons options or if you want to build get a kit off of Ali express and get switches off divinkey or Amazon
they wont swap switches.
it has to come with silents stock so thats basically they're only choice
if they won't swap them just get regular reds
or browns
i do not reccomend silent reds at all
tbh why not just o-ring
like if it has to be silent
and no switch swapping
like just o-ring it then
I do not think there are any keyboards that have silent switches on a budget
I doubt they'll take keycaps off, they want a 0 effort baord
But o rings would work
why it takes no longer than a few minutes lmao
It takes less to swap keycaps yet they won't do that either
damn no offence but thats some lazy shiz right there
Sounds like trolling to me ...
Sounds like punching to me
not a joke if u use the big ones for mounting
Yeah, gummy o rings are great
thats what I said lmao
I bought an helidox v2 kit
Wanted to get a lily58 but there was a sale on the helidox kit soooo
nice
I need to count how many switches I got left, maybe I won't need to buy any
Can anyone suggest a warless keyboard on a budget? I'm in the EU.
what size do you want?
im assuming you want iso layout?
Im not quite sure what does that mean can you explain it to me? Sorry
yea ok give me a sec, those are alittle bit less common
okay thanks for you're help.
wrong layout but if you were willing to switch layouts this is a pretty solid board
https://www.keychron.com/products/keychron-c2-wired-mechanical-keyboard?variant=32312450580569
Keychron C2 Mechanical Keyboard. Full-size 104-keys Layout. Connects via wired type-c cable and users can hot swap every switch in seconds with the hot-swappable version. Compatible with Mac, Windows, iOS, Android, Linux. Gateron Switches. 15+ RGB Backlight
depends on the config, but at its lowest config its 44$ usd
they're shipping is expensive tho, 30$~ usually
yikes ok, one sec ill do some more looking around
I don't mind giving up latency because I mostly code and 3d model Im looking for a not that heavy easy to carry warless keyboard
what is your budget specifically?
I've seen some Logitech keyboards but...
ehh I wouldnt get logic, they're very low quility
im assuming the num pad is a must have?
But their headphones are great so i thought the keyboards are good as well
Yes for Blender plus Excel
alr
for most people they'll be fine but from a enthusiast stand point they're very bad
Rly I had an HyperX as well they say it's the best but the sound quality was nearly as tin can. lol
yea~ like alot of oem boards gaming comunities will say theyre great but as an enthusiast they're basically garbage to me
yes I get there is like 3d Dolby atmos or whatever they're saying but it's trash
anyways
Keychron K10 Wireless mechanical keyboard has included keycaps for both Windows and macOS, and users can hotswap every switch in seconds; with the hot-swappable version. Please drop your email on "Notify Me When Available" if the product model is out of stock.
thats kinda all I can find for a wireless 100%, maybe someone else knows of one? but I dont
What about a Razer BlackWidow V3 Pro?
wireless and full size isnt smthn you see very often
I see Is Keychron that good?
again, for most people they'll be fine but from a enthusiast stand point they're very bad
lol
I mean I quite like them so I could be alittle bias but they just have quite afew options, and they all are pretty decent boards with fairly competitive pricing
other than theyre shipping, tahts a complete scam lmao
I found one of them in this layout:
96%
maybe not that one, although you dont see a ton of 96% layouts
and it's not in my language I thin I either have to give up the numpad or go for wired.
what language does it have to be?
Hungarian
cause you could just get different keycaps
My parents say it has to be for school. But I use it for 2% of Hungarian language and 98% for English
Yes but how do you tell the pc that its for example an á key not an a
ah, yea if you want it in hungarian you'll probably have to get third party keycaps, I cant think of any board thats sold with that stock
I've seen one in wired I belive
change you're keyboard layout
I see
possibly, I also only browse on canadian sites so its very possible ive just never come across any
Yes we're in different continents the shipping plus the inflation not even talking about one dollar is 334 HUF you can buy maybe a lollipop whit that so yea our currency never been this week. I believe the war caused this since we share boarders
my suggestion would to go wired its not that inconvenient if you get a board with a detachable cable (which most are) and it will really open up your options.
or you could get an external num pad and a wireless board if that sounds more appealing
ah, yea thats unfortunate
Okay I guess wired is not a big problem Any suggestions that's not keychrone since the cheapest one is 130 USD at us?
Suchergebnis auf Amazon.de für: keychron
Suchergebnis auf Amazon.de für: leopold keyboard
We don't even have that
you dont have amazon?
No they don't deliver to us
hmm ok
plus amazons shipping price is usually half of the products price
yea im not too sure sorry, if you just wait maybe someone else has a better idea of where to get stuff in the eu
Okay We don't have that either If you still have some time I have a list of cheap keyboards if you can tell me which is the best of them I would apricate it
yea sure
Logitech G413 (920-008310)
Logitech Prodigy G213 HU (920-010739)
For now tmr I will got to my local compute show and see if they can get any of the keyboards for cheep that you said.
Logitech G413 US (920-008476) And this also I know they're all Logitech's but this is the only reputable brand out here
they wont have any of the boards I sent
Why?
They said they can bring in form out of bounds.
form other countries I meant
keychron doesnt ship its baords to stores, they keep everyting in there warehouses, you can only get them online, same with leopold (I think)
ohh
they'll ship it to you but they dont have any on shelf units
I guess maybe the best option is to just stick whit the OM Dell shity keyboard that was given to the office for free lol
Logitech Prodigy G213 HU is a no go, it was my first non apple keyboard and I had issues with keys not registering after just a month or so of use
that could have just been a one off tho, but I still wouldnt get cause its membrain and membranes are very ehh
good ego nomics tho, I did like its intigraded wrist rest
Its fine for me all tough I've never experienced a mechanical keyboard so I dont know what Im missing out on lol
fair enough
All my keyboards have been a 10U SD office keyboards that I stole form my parents office
I mean tbh take your pick for witch ever one you like more I think they're using the same membrane system so it doesnt really matter
n i c e
I mean I used a apple magic keyboard from 2006 for a good 5-6~ years so
and are they're any good? As well as are they even compatible whit linux and Windows ?
and now I own 5 mechanical keyboards that are scattered throughout my desk just making it more cluttered lmao
it should work with linux and windows it 100% works
isn't the USB keyboard and mouse protocol supported by everything
it should be
oh the apple magic keyboard
I never used it on linux but it worked fine on windows
I wouldnt buy a apple keyboard tho they're pricy for what you get, if you were gonna pay that much I'd go for the keychron
I tought I would look for a used one if they are good
I mean they're not terrible
Alright maybe I can get a keychrome Anyways I much apricate you're help and have a nice day!
😃
You have a lot of keyboards what do you do whit them?!
theres a quick sound test if that matters to you at all, ignore how its on top of my keyboard, it takes me a good couple minutes to position my board where I like it and I didnt feel like moving it lmao
use them
idk I dont really use the one in the back of tht picture they're more just projects ig
the one the apple magic is sitting on is my daily driver, then I have a full size for productivity when I need a numb pad, and then I have a 65% for traveling and such
wow good for you!
np gald to help, ty you have a nice day your self!
You too!
Do you have durgod, varmilo and ducky there ?
oh yea I kinda forgot about ducky
I would bet on varmilo ... with their customization tool ... you can choose the layout you want
niceee
I hope my helidox won't be a bother to use for admin sys/programming stuff
Only 42 keys is scary
What did you do ?
jsut kept practicing AHSDFHASDFHASDF
Has anyone here used ergogen before?
Never heard about it
It's a keyboard layout tool that creates a kicad file so you can make your own pcb's
Interesting
When I made my keyboard I used a python script to "transform" my layout, made on keyboard-layout-editor.com, to kicad pcb disposition
Kicad support interfacing with python and has a small python module for that
import pcbnew
import csv
reader = csv.reader(open("positions.csv"), delimiter=";")
data = {}
n=0
for row in reader:
n+=1
key = row[0]
data[key] = row[1:]
pcb = pcbnew.LoadBoard("Clavier.kicad_pcb")
for i in range(1,n+1):
c = pcb.FindModuleByReference("K"+str(i))
c.SetPosition(pcbnew.wxPointMM(float(data["K"+str(i)][0]),-float(data["K"+str(i)][1])))
d = pcb.FindModuleByReference("D"+str(i))
d.SetPosition(pcbnew.wxPointMM(float(data["K"+str(i)][2]),-float(data["K"+str(i)][3])))
pcb.Save("Clavier.kicad_pcb")```
It was something like that apparently that I did
It was 3 years ago sooo
Is the QK65 good for its price?
is that the board shoobs just did a video on?
Yeah
I havent looked into it at all, so im not sure, maybe look at some other reviews.
how much is it?
im 90% sure its also 150$
The biggest I want to go is a tkl
whats your budget?
I mean keychron q1/2 are quite good
and if you want lower, theres lots of leopold options or keychorn c1
it looks pretty good, I would wait for other reviewers tho since the boards isnt officially released yet
yeah
nearlucid and shoobs both made a video on it
it has a pretty deep sound profile
like thock
but thock is subjective
i watched the shoobs review and it sounds very deep
clack is where its at yea decent board, But I would still maybe hold till afew more people get there hands on it, but thats just me
its very premium
like it feels nice
and it looks nice
unlike the bakeneko
which has a cast body
pk65 also is cast
but only the bottom part
qk
qk65
yeah you can also make it clacky
by changing the switches
to a hard bottoming out
switch
yea ik
ik
problem iwth qk65 is that the gasket mounting is so stiff
with
rlly rlly stiff
its not like extremely stiff
but its stiff for a gasket board
and escpecially for a owlabs board
the epoch and mrsuit are all incredible flexible boards
but the qk65 is very stiff
I mean that's kinda preference but if you did value flex i'd just get the keychorn q2
yea, especially if you remove the stock foam
ik
i dont really know any new gasket boards
by new i mean released this month
except the qk65
yea, I dont either
im not up to date with all the keyboards the subcompanies of companies are making
and also do gummy o ring mount boards flex more?
im not sure, I've never tried a gummie mount
oh
keychron k8 pro
Q3 knob is releasing soon too
oh nice
its a gasket?
i think it is
I had heard about the k8 but I had no idea it was a gasket
otherwise he wouldnt reply under my message about gasket keebs
but actually im not certain about it
yea it is, I just didnt realise
it is, so is the q3
@chrome raft lol I'm in lightmode
ha
I don’t think any of them do
Unless it’s a recent one
Then maybe
Yea I just read the specs
I's totally pick one up if I hadnt just bought a 3070ti
$70 for pcb mount stabs, gasket mount, hot swap
yea
Damn nice
Which one?
an asus tuf one, I think I have me specs linked in my bio?
Nr400 dope dope
yea, ty
I dont really love the look of the screws on the side and side io of k8 pro but still looks really nice
i mean for me i dont mind
its pretty convinient
since they stay on too
for me i would love to go mini itx
just cause the form factor and bored of looking at my nr400
what stays on?
the screws
I mean they could have put them on the bottom, it was have been alot cleaner
yea same, next build tho. still liking the nr400
I like myn, goes pretty nice with my setup
https://www.newegg.com/black-ssupd-meshlicious-mini-itx/p/2AM-030R-00004?Description=ssupd&cm_re=ssupd-_-9SIAS0BE9S3316-_-Product i would love looking at this all day
eh
not my style, but it would have good airflow
btw if you wanna talk pc should prolly go to #tech-chat-2
hi, im looking into buying a budget mechanical keyboard UNDER 40$ and i found 3 RK keyboards and im confused over which one should i get, should i get the wireless one with blue switches or get the wired rgb one with bluetooth and red switches or the wired only one with software?
im new to mechanical keyboards although was recommended by all of my friends. i saw a few videos and still could not find the difference, so can some dude with omega mechanical keyboard knowledge tell me whats the best?
those are all just different rk61 variants I believe, I'd see if they all have hot swap, if not all of them habe hot swap I'd prolly go with the bottom one
this?
yea
thanks
hot swap means you can quickly swap the switchs
if you could bump up your budget just abit, keychron has some very nice options that are alittle bigger tahn 65%
how much? higher
Keychron C1 Mechanical Keyboard. Tenkeyless Layout. Connects via wired type-c cable and users can hot swap every switch in seconds with the hot-swappable version. Compatible with Mac, Windows, iOS, Android, Linux. Gateron Switches. 15+ RGB Backlight
if you could I would recomend getting the hot swap variant but it is 10$ more so
thanks! one small issue shipping to my country costs 34$
i see, but at this point with shipping if i managed to save that much couldn't i just add 15 bucks and buy a huntsman mini
in my country
huntsman mini is terrible
from an enthusiast stand point yes.
should've joined 2 days earlier when my brother ordered one.
im sure they'll be happy with it, from your average consumer/gamer stand point its great, but as an enthusiast ik its really not that amazing
if you're a gamer you'll think its great, if you're an enthusiast you'll recongnise theres better options
so sorda ig?
none the less If you can get the money I would get the keychron c1 but if that extra 30$ is too much I'd probably go with the last rk61 you linked
ok thanks!
np glad to help
What size keyboard is good for general productivity and gaming as a whole?
I don’t really use the numpad anymore except for some games that have flying
But I only rlly use the keyboard for flying games if I can’t find my Xbox controller
Tkl
It's all up to preference and whether or not you'd rather reach for keys or use combinations(forgot the actual term. the ctrl+shift type shit)
but if you aren't using it more much other than typing and occasionally gaming i always reccomend a 60%. portable, cheap most times, and pretty easy to get used to. tkl is also good if you need the extra buttons
idk how to respond to that
layouts are just a combination of different parts like number pad, f row, windows keys, arrow cluster etc.
just choose the parts you want
I prefer a 75% over 60%
just cuz it’s a good bit more compact than a tkl but still has those buttons if I want
75% are ugly as sin to me so i can never get into them but they are a nice alternative if you prefer a compact board yeah
well that will give you the occasion to compare it to the keyboard you'll get ... and see for yourself
also ...
got a new keycap set ... feels really nice to type on
Uh, a 75% would be nice, but I personally don’t find myself using function keys and extra keys that much, so an extended 65% with mapped keys could work out well
exploded 75% is ugly AF
but compact 75% is sooooo clean
Personally love exploded 75
Those are quite nice, how's the quility?
well I don't know ... I like them and they feel nice so I guess the quality is good
I mean they are thick double shot pbt ... texture is nice
I don't notice anything wrong with the legend
Alr
I might try some akko keycaps then, been thing about it for abit but I wasn't sure how they're quility was
W h y
probably depend to which other keycap you compare them to ...
I've been using keychron oem caps so probably doesn't take much to beat they're quility
I have a double shot oem profile set that is not as thick as those ...
and I have a double shot xda set that is as thick or thicker than those ... but they don't feel as sturdy probably cause of the lower profile
isn't keychron keycap double shot abd ?
Boredom, and I would like some beard hair keycaps
painted beard hairs shaped into a keycap
With the texture of the beard hairs
Fair enough~
You don’t want it?
Nope not at all
Why not tho
I don't wanna type on hair
I'll stick with abs/pbt keycaps
yeah the keychron Q series keycaps are pbt ... but I think the K serie are abs
While looking for hairy keyboard, i found this
Q1 come stock with abs and then they're other keycap options are pbt
That's so cursed
Yes it is
it looks fake
prolly is but its stull cursed
Anyone know where I can get GLORIOUS AURA KEYCAPS V2 keycaps in Canada? I prefer not to buy from gmmk in case of duty fees
sure that wasnt a heat gun damn
should've put it in the microwave
that woulda fixed it
Better than a heat gun or oven
Is there anyone who has been a mechanical keyboard user and gone back to low-profile keyboards like the Logitech MX keys, Apple Magic Keyboard, etc?
Just curious because I think I might be one - I mean it is all personal preference after all but yeah :D
I would use a nuphy air or a keychron low prof, idk about apple, I used one for 5 years and I cant see my self wanting to go bad to it
i’d vomit
mouse with an option to repair*
not really any reason for hot swap otherwise for a mouse
imho
idk it could be cool
honestly I just wanna see mroe mice with adjustable debounce time, I hate how niche it is
You can easily try out different switches
like Japanese Omrons which aren't available in consumer mice
TTC Gold 80M, Zippy, Cherry, etc

Free Ewaste Keyboard
Masking tape
is the razer cynosa lite any good
I'd say just get a school keyboard
will be the same quality
Do I need just one layer of it? Or should I make it double?
depends on the result
well thats... terrible to know
if its not loud enough for you ,add another

@simple canyon you can get this Outemu Red keyboard probably
like that
Just like save the excess money and save for like some Varmillo or Vortex or Leopold @simple canyon
lol why are the leopold keyboards like 150 pounds
i see the build quality is good
they look quite normal
no ultra fps boosting rgb that costs 12 livers
the only LED a keyboard needs is a Caps Lock indicator
maybe Num Lock if it has numpad
comes with thick quality 2shot pbt as well
and yea, general speaking the build quality is better even tho it doesnt have the steel plate bs
looks like a normal office keyboard so not bad but yeah currently way outta my budget
the drugod one looks quite nice
Scratch the Durgod they're dogshit from dogshit company
tbh I think the negative reviews are more of a review of the company that makes them
the varmillo keyboards look quite good especially with charcoal grey
what is this for?
adding custom keycaps?
no you add your own switches and keycaps
oh cool
swapping out switches and the ease to tune the stabilizers and/or making modification that affects how the board sounds
Hello! I am looking for a keyboard that isnt one of those super clicky and loud keyboards, they just annoy me to death. I only got those normal brands like SteelSeries and such to chose from and no Amazon or alike, what would be recommended to buy?
As of now I am using SteelSeries Apex 350 and really love this keyboard, but I can not find it anywhere, so would love similar style if possible.
Yes, im kind of picky. But I am planning on having it for an other 10ish years 🙂
Its kinda like Apex 7
Thats how it looks like haha
Yeah it's a low profile
Almost 50 dollars in shipping from their website, can not find it in local stores 😦
Got any other tips? 🙂
Live in a very boring country where we basiclly only have the mainstream brands such as SteelSeries, HyperX, Razer and so on
Worth to mention aswell, Im not in the US, im in Scandinavia. Haha
Whoever has low profile cherry switches then @gritty fern
Logitech G Pro as well I think uses some version of Kailh Chocs
So cherry and Kailh Chocs are silent?
Whats regular switches? haha
Found none of the ones you mentioned haha. But I found, k2, k4, k6, k8.
Those are normal profile
Aww D:
Hmm, found Apex pro and Apex 7 for a good price, know anything if they are annoyingly clicky? haha
low profile kailh choc with real choc spacing
This is real low profile
Look how the keycaps are low and small and close to each others
You can't have that with classic MX switches
btw i'm (almost) jk
Thats not what I really want. Normal sized keyboard. Thats not clicking so my neighbors wakes up when I type is what I want XD
(like what I said is true but not for everyone)
Ohh I got the joke 😛 But just saying. Haha 😛
Just get any of the Keychrons you found them or get a Varmilo or Leopold
Only really the Apex Pro is like an ok keyboard
Make sure to get MX Red switches or Gateron Reds to avoid the clickies
Or Vortex
I will go and look on them in store, since I am not familiar with the keyboards at all. Got the store kinda close 🙂
If you have to go major brand then Steelseries Apex Pro is like the only passable keyboard
But Keychron, Varmillo, Vortex would be better
So out of less knowledge, whys that?
It's the only one that isn't Uber cheaply made
Just relatively cheaply made
At least the switches on it are good
Makes sense.
Any other "big brand" youll think will be viable? Like K70, Alloy, or something like it?
Might aswell know my list before I go to the store 😛
HyperX and Corsair dogshit
If you have to buy a major brand's keyboard only the Apex Pro is remotely worth the money
Since you liked the Apex 350 also try for Logitech G Pro Wireless keyboard @gritty fern
The one that says low profile
That one is nice specially for that price
@gritty fern i would go for Leopold with cherry silent red (not the same as cherry red)
Cant buy here 🙈
Such a shit country for "off brand" stuff.
Will look on the ones Ive been tipsed along Corsair k100 and SteelSeries Apex pro. Seems like the best bets to me when I look at reviews.
And they all red switches. So pretty quite.
And I might look into some browns aswell to hear and feel the diffrence irl.
Any good black 65% cases?
With keyboardlist made.
What mice would you all recommend? Got rival 600 atm and I just LOVE it.
But sadly it is starting to double click and just dont work as good anymore after soon 4 years.
Been looking at 710, since almost the exact same mouse, but less of that rubberstuff that just collects dirt. (I tend to have sweaty hands)
Anyone know if 710 is any good? Or any other similar mices thats solid?
would avoid corsair ... shitty
brown won't sound much different than red ... feel is barely different too
Is Ducky readily available where you are? They're pretty big
Would be really interesting to try out different switches
If only i could afford it
Yeah I found some Ducky to be fair. But I find them pretty damn ugly, but I did put them on my list to atleast look at :)
You might have a store near you, you never know. Turns out there's one by me so I went in and tried a LOT of keyboards/switches, learned a ton
Go to a store and try diffrent switches there 👀
I really don't know where the nearest electronics store even is
Not like we'd have the time anyways
Rarely used that stuff haha
use rollermouse

why all these weird layouts
