Yall are keyboard savvy right?
probably
Is there a key command on windows that makes u only use shortcut
It happened awhile back
try ctrl alt p?
you could also have sticky keys on or something
I was just wondering because I would spam my keyboard and it would do tbat
Then I restart my PC and it fixed it
yea they are
alr ty
does anyone know of a good 60% keyboard under 50 cad hotswappable usb c
idk if rk61 is usbc
but if it is just get the rk61
and yo probably shouldn't even care about usb c
any port is fine
If you could spend the extra I heard this was alr, but I don't have any personal experience with this board so im not sure. do your own reserch
https://www.keychron.com/products/keychron-k12-wireless-mechanical-keyboard
Keychron K12 Wireless Mechanical Keyboard. 60% Layout. Wireless or Wired. and users can hot swap every switch in seconds with the hot-swappable version. Compatible with Mac, Windows, iOS, Android, Linux. Keychron Optical, Gateron Mechanical or Keychron Mechanical Switches. Connect up to 3 devices. 15+ RGB Backlight
can anyone help me with my keybiard? If so just dm me.
so when I click my F1 and F2 key they do not work, but when I click them together its a 50/50 if they will work or not. I have a iqunix L80 with Shogoki tactile switches on the F keys and TTC Gold pink of the rest.
That's a hot-swappable board, so pop out those two keys real quick
if you have any extra switches, test em in there?
or just pop one that's working out of a different socket
got it
also you may want to blow on the contacts to get any dust out, or clean them if they are grimy/corroded with rubbing alcohol
(if that doesn't work
ok, so the switch works on other keys, i replaced the switch and it still does not work. i have a can of compressed air im gonna do that now
nope, nothing. and no they are not grimey or anytthing like that
ok hold on, so it was working when i put it to wireless but its not when I make it wireless mode
so its not the switches its something to do with maybe the cable?
nope not the cable but it works in wireless mode, its just that wireless mode is awful due to it being so delayed
oh, no i meant the switch socket contacts
ik i did the switch contacts and the switch socket contacts they didnt work
Try shorting the contacts manually in wired mode and see if it registers
I mean i expect it not to work
But no harm in trying
Like use something conductive to make a circuit between the contacts
Like a pair of metal tweezers
nothing yet even on wireless mode idk if im doin it right
I am currently waiting for my One 3 TKL to get here... first "better than Corsair" mech keyboard. I don't see myself going crazy with mods, but do folks suggest at least lubing the stabs? if so, what lube? I can't see myself spending a ton of time/money on this, but I'm willing to do a bit.
Condensed question: easy stab lubing, what hould I know/buy?
Dielectric grease if youre on a budget
I actually already have some of that... was thinking that might be a good call
putting it in there
Yeah easy to get hold of, plus cheaper than alternatives, although the performances reflects this
Yeye into the sockets
I'm guessing that, being my first time doing this, any improvement will be appreciatecd. Might encourage me to do more down-the-road
nope not working on wired
Thats very strange, lemme have a quick google and see if i can find something
Yeah id suggest band aid modding the stabs
Probs replace them with some nicer stabs of youre feeling fancy
<===googleing "bandaid modding"
ok so i tried it on another key that ik orks (i have the first letter of that ord off rn so just ignore that) and i stuck the teasers inside the sockets of the upside don m key and it still didnt ork
@hybrid sinew im really not too sure why something like that would be happening but i would suggest contacting the manufacturer/retailer you got it from if its within warranty
Get rid of that damn rattle lol
ah yes... I know this sound from Corsair-land 😉

Fully lol
hehe
Also clipping the extra bits on the bottom of the stabs will help
Theres like some extra prongs that arnt necessary that should be clipped
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cD5Zj-ZgMLA this seems to cover that as well, at least I'll get the gist of it from it
THERE IS A NEW UPDATED GUIDE https://youtu.be/usNx1_d0HbQ
Dielectric Grease: https://amzn.to/2l99WeP OR can be replaced with Krytox 205g0 from https://switchmod.net/taehatypes
Teflon Grease: https://amzn.to/2lh2uhU OR can be replaced with traditional lube https://switchmod.net/taehatypes
Flush Cutters: https://amzn.to/2lh3kLA
Bandaids: https:/...
I probably won't lube them right off...
just because it seems like a big time invenstment
It is but if you dont do it straight away it wont ever get done trust ahahaha
well thanks for the help anyway
(I'm going with Speed Silvers for now... I've had them before, and liked them)
I sense the truth in what you say
Yeah sorry i couldn't figure it out, hard to tell without having the thing in hand unfortunately
Yeah it gets put off forever lol, but its fully worth the time investment, and if you are short on time you can always pay someone to do it
Honestly... its more of a "I should do it while watching a show one night" thing... time can be found
Yeah think theyre meant to be pretty nice, idk what the weighting on those are but probs too scratchy for my elitist self
They are super light weight, I can't comment on the scratchiness though, I don't have apoint of comparrison
Yeah its hard to tell, but if you lube 1 you'll get that reference ahaha, it eliminates a good portion of it
Honestly lubing switches makes you never be able to go back to unlubed lmao
I've thought that I might like to try another brand of "super-light linear" down the road, and I might just buy those pre-lubed (I'm glad this is a hot-swap board, so I'm really only into it for the price of switches to try something else)
I mean you can always spring swap any linear switch for it to be light weight, and honestly factory lube sucks, its super inconsistent, better off doing it yourself or using a service
hmm, well I will keep that in mind
...and I'm 100 not surprised factory lube would suck
Yeah, but il be honestly if you like speed silvers id say stick with them!
I had them on a K95 that died of an intense drinking problem... by far my fav switches (in the MX family I've used brows, reds, silver... also razor greens)
Yeah reds are okay too but too scratchy for me, i like vintages blacks or retooled blacks, but i would spring swap them for a lighter weight either way
Theyre farrrr too heavy default
I have reds right now, and they're fine. but noticable heavier than the silver, and I like the shorter "throw" of the silvers. Just feels nicer to type on for me.
You would probably like spring swapped pom durocks
They have a shorter travel and theyre suoer smooth
Put in a lighter spring and that would be a nice switch
I'm looking at them now. Is there a clear housing for RGB shine through?
(I don't need a ton of light, but a bit of backlight is a for sure thing
There will likely be a recoloured version with clear housing somewhere out there, after googling speed silvers are 45g so some 45g spring is what you would need
(though, to be honest, best to start by lubing the ones it arrives with in order to baseline my preferences
yea, 45 is correct
@hollow plover idk if this can help at all with the keyboard still but I just found out that when I hold the arrow keys down (any of them) I can click F1 and F2 fine
I think you can get them with a smokey housing
The plot thickens lmao
AND IT WORKS WHENEVER I CLICK ANOTHER BUTTON WITH IT
JWK Durock Linear Switches feature smokey clear housings with stem colors indicating their spring weight. Utilizing a polycarbonate top housing, nylon bottom housing, and POM stem, these switches are great options for a readily-available linear. Also known as the Durock L7 and L2 switches. Durock Linear Switches Featur
Okay thats bizarre
idk if its some settings that I have on or key shortcut i put on by accident but i looked through the whole manual 6 times
Doesnt sound like a setting because it doesnt occur in wireless mode
true...
@hollow plover thanks for answering questions for me, have a good one!
i think it might have something to do with it regestering on my pc as an apple keyboard
No problem! You too!
Lmao, yeah that very well might mess things up
i looks pretty much the same, but did tape mod, lubed and filmed alpacas, and swapped the stabs for durock v2s
it sounds soooo good
damn that looks nice, what board? keychron q2?
looks like it
what happen to the enter key tho'?
q2. the key set had and error and didn't ship with a correctly sized enter key. that's the standin until they can ship out the correction ^^
dsa magic girl from thekeycompany?
mmhmm!
i mean, thats thekeycompany for you unfortunately
yeah, they look sooooo cute though
ah I see
Maybe not the most keyboard like question, but it is for my keyboard. Anyway does anyone know of any good micro usb right angle adapters? I need it to make my keyboard wire run horizontally across the top instead of across the desk. It looks so bad atm :(
ye I saw a few on amazon, but they all had a bunch of reviews saying they didn't work :c
ima get a keyboarrd i have 140 cad what should i get i wanna build one but just switchs and key caps
and amazon only
and one with a volume nob if possible
no blue switchs i need somthing more QUEIT
and 65% or 75
ps i need somthing easy ive never built one before
sounds like the keychron q2 would be the perfect fit
idk if thats on amazon yet but thats your best bet
@shut flame idk if its on amazon but https://epomaker.com/products/ajazz-k620t-v2?variant=39302536069193&&sca_ref=1026134.CZuEwlMpiS
60% Layout Compact Hot-Swappable Keyboard With the success of Ajazz K620T Bluetooth keyboard, we have listened to our customer to finally make this hot-swappable version for 62 keys layout mechanical keyboard. Being hot-swappable means you can replace the switch without soldering issue. To some degree, it also extends
thats a 60% tho
oh my bad, I mean it'll still have a function for arrow keys
i got an rk74, modded it with gateron yellow pros
For the new Linus keyboard video, I was hoping the E-dra EK387 Huano switch to appear on the video because it only cost you 30 $ atmost
turns out, It isn't on Amazon
I guess ergonomic keyboards aren't very popular in here >.<
Here's my daily driver
can't be popular if your keyboard doesnt weigh 4kg, has gmk on it, is limited production, shrouded in controversy, is lubedtapedmoddedpolyfilledpefoammoddedstabtuned, on 5 different deskmats, on a desk made completely out of acoustic foam and sounds "ThoCky"
Keychron Q2 is around 290 cad when it arrives here
I got the limited production down at least. I had to get a PCB-printing company to custom print the PCB because this keyboard is not sold commercially anywhere
This is cool. And painstaking
You soldered the board yourself?
Yeah, I did
It was hard at first, but now I've got it down pretty nicely
It is painstaking I guess, but it was required for me to be happy with my keyboard setup
akko ACR boards
What do you guys think abt the g915 tkl in white?
idk I like low profile a little more
Really nice
Id be happy too if i solder a board like this myself
This aint easy
hmm a desk made out of acoustic foam.... i'm in
looks sick af, i wanna make something like this someday just without choc/low profile switches lol
the stability...
just have like 30 metal poles for stability and nowhere to put your feet. hey if it thocks, it thocks.
lmao
we are desperate
if a keyboard sounds nice then im like "cool"
if it doesnt then i dont mind as long as it feels nice
that being said...thock is thock
lol
you get it
I could not care about aesthetics or sound lol
Or feel
Just let me type as efficiently as possible
foam84
entire keeb made out of foam would be better
shoobs made a video creating a keyboard with a100% foam case
yes
plateless gasket mount in fully foam case
pe foam holee modded stabs
pe foam switch top housing
fully polished full nylon bottom housing
lubed
filmed with pe foam
foam keycaps
ultimate thock
cnc foam block
kaycaps rattle is very bad, keycaps are abs plastic so they get shiny, new keycaps are hard to find, and it is very over priced for what you get
I'd recommend looking at a different lowprofile board if it was me
I dont know anything about this board so do your own research but this looks alr, and much cheaper
https://www.keychron.com/products/keychron-k1-se-wireless-mechanical-keyboard?variant=39652026351705
Keychron K1 SE is an ultra-slim wireless mechanical keyboard. With low profile Gateron or Keychron Optical red, blue, brown, banana, mint switches. Wireless and type-c wired mode. Mac layout, compatible with Mac, Windows. Aluminum frame. 18 types of RGB backlight included white LED.
sounds like garbage and rattles a lot
very scratchy
and i dont get why you would want a lp keeb
I get the apeal of low profiles
you dont need a wrist wrest, thin so they fit in bags nice, and idk preference
why would you buy a keyboard because you dont want to use a wrist wrest
I dont like wrist wrestes I think they look clunky and dont find them that comfortable
its preference man, why do some people like 65% and less, ill never understand the appeal of less keys to work with
mouse room
price
why would you want a portable keyboard just use the one on ur laptop
move the board over or give your mouse more deskpad, price I've seen plennty of full size keybaords for cheaper than 60%
poeple are weird man, Ive seen peaople use keybaords ontop of there laptops intigrated
100% is not 100% always more expensive then 60% but it usually is
fair enough
unironically evga and asus' wristrests are some of the cleanest imo
ok well some laptop keyboards are actually very good
evga makes keybaords?
artisan wristrests
yea, they have like 4
very buget optical keebs
all show no go
they have like, 2 mechanical, 1 optical and 1 membrane
i think it looks good
i hate the stock keycaps
huh woulda never guessed they made priferals
they also made a mouse
you shouldn't but evga and asus keebs
buy
idc mouse isnt important
I do floating wrist
nah jsut wrest em on the desk, no need to raise them
soooo like every other oem
tell me an alternative at 45usd then
yeah so dont buy oem keyboards
ok well its hotswap at least
I don't know why people would sacrifice functionality for looks
and you can replace the switches
same as the z15
for lubed high-end linears
same as the z15.
Prolly hexgears gk707/705?
its for price
45usd for 104 keys?
Or k707/k705
not really
Yea, the k705 is a full size iirc
I agree
Comes with box switches and hotswap socmet
75%, tkl, 104
frick exploded 75
its the perfect size
no
75 is the smallest I'd gi
you get f row, function keys, arrow keys, and its all together so its cleaner
if even an apple magic keyboard has function row
yes its a good way to waste money
if you have too much money you can always but a magic keeboard if you need to spend money
^^^waste
looks nicer in my opinion
point
but its preference
most people prefer compact 75 or tkl
yea
its the perfct imbetween
we're talking about evga full size and out of nowhere a 60% comes up
compact full sizes look nice, full size has alot of wasted space in my opinion
so you want a 96%
ot a 1800
you can't get the numpad anywhere else aside from 1800
or
i was trying to say dont buy evga keyboards
you've had it?
no
cool.
i wouldn't want to spend my money on that
s&c seems to be fine with it
what is s&c
I mean a kailh speed silver with hotswap socket for 45 usd ain't that bad
It's like the gk707/705, but not having to buy from AliExpress.
You are buying those for the feature, not really for the quality of the assembly tbh
what ever this is, if I ever got a full size it'd be like this
if your buying a 45 dollar keyboard your gonna mod it
That's 96%
i hate that 0 placement
alr then yea
but if you buy a cheap keycap set most likely it wont fit ur board
no?
????
you dont want your keycaps to fit?
just check the set utself
no
cheap caps sets can have the right sized keys
oh wait I read that wrong
im saying 96% isnt a very popular layout
40$?
sure
bc bottom row is weird and right shift
yea
which one?
rk61 is easier to mod tho
I'll grab link
disagree
i think its pretty expensive
then why tf does everyone mod the rk61 and not other keebs
its simply easier to mod
every repeatable companies, consumer board is expensive
????
eh not my style
yes i watche that switch and click stream

Asus decided to put every feature inside one singular keyboard, the ASUS Strix Flare II Animate.
Check it out here: https://rog.asus.com/us/keyboards/keyboards/aura-rgb/rog-strix-flare-ii-animate-model/

Buy NX Red: https://shop.asus.com/us/90mp02e6-bkua01-rog-...
like logitech, corsair, asus,act
I love Asus but why does it look like the strafe mk. 2 from corsair?
how is that repetable?
let's be honest they all look the same
asus new keyboard is a waste of money
lol
why tf would you need that much rgb
eh still dont really like there athetics
everything that isn't rk61 is a waste
for flex
custom boards aren't a waste
are even more of abwaste
no the real flex is having a keyboard with a ultra shiny weight
anyways you're very arrogant and i will ignore you since "waste of money" seems like your motto
those are pretty popular brand amongst non enthusiast keybaords
yes
i thought u said enthusiast for a second
weight does not care if you don't use it portable
???
oh, no I meant consumer lmao
says someone who says "everything that isn't rk61 is a waste"
no im saying that there are weights in the back of high-quality cases
oh you mean that weight
its on the bottom tho you dont really notice it
but its still a big flex
fair
yeah
exactly
my guy I was the one who didn't like the rk61
read context pls
no @fiery bane is right
exCUSE ME????
read context.
and asus
yes
and corsaur
yes
or every other oem other than rk
no
that's the joke.
lol
ducky keyboards are kinda overpriced (my opinion)
not opinion
sound dampening tho
cheaper 😉 waste of money
that adds price
yeah but prob are you still under the stock price of the keyboard
it's ducky soo
not really
???
u sure? (╯°□°)╯︵ ┻━┻
nobody saw that ... XD
it never works for me, so i separated em
yeahhhhhhhh kinda messed it up
r/woooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooosh
lmao
does anyone happen to know where you can get gmk monochrome? or even just smthn similar
thx
np
check if out of stock
alr ty
np
im looking for a keyboard with brown switches and no rgb
is k845 good for 60?
a quiet tactile
you can just turn rgb off
yeah but it's for my friend not me
have you told them you can turn off rgb?
by logitech right?
whats there budget, and preferred key layout?
150 for both a board and mouse?
hmm
dsoesnt need best stuff thoughb
Keychron C1 Mechanical Keyboard. Tenkeyless Layout. Connects via wired type-c cable and users can hot swap every switch in seconds with the hot-swappable version. Compatible with Mac, Windows, iOS, Android, Linux. Gateron Switches. 15+ RGB Backlight
oh and would prefer black and red
has a no rbg version if they really want
like keycaps?
yeah
your best bet is third party for that
which you would prolly be able to fit in with that board, its fairly cheap
he wants colors like this lol
mm, Ill take a quick look but im not to sure if ik any like that
ok thx i think you might need some red light for that lol
ok he changed his mind he is fine with rgb but as long as he can make it a solid color
so bassically any rgb
keyboard
tahts the best I got for keycaps
I'd do this board then
he can do just white and save a buck or full rgb
np
: )
i swear you have a mental ilness because ur recomending a gmk set for a 150 dollar keeb
@spark hatchhttps://www.amazon.com/Keychron-Bluetooth-Wireless-Mechanical-Keyboard/dp/B08V1193T8/ref=sr_1_13?crid=20XBS3QSDEEY2&keywords=keychron%2Bgaming%2Bkeyboard%2Bbrown%2Bswitches&qid=1644538295&s=videogames&sprefix=keychron%2Bgaming%2Bkeyboard%2Bbrown%2Bswitches%2Cvideogames%2C51&sr=1-13&th=1
board is 60 not 150, its a 60$ keycap set not that bad, and they asked for a red and black keycap set so I gave them one
yes?
I dont know to much about that board so do your own research, it looks alr tho
I'm here to share an interesting abomination
ok
wtf is that
@hoary traili just saw that 10 min ago and it like 300 dollars
A keyboard with a display (touchscreen)
how is that usful lmao
It can be used for Consoles, Taskbars, message applications, etc
oh yea actaully that would be decent
oph this one is 450
And I bought it ....
what are the hearts about
No idea.
hey guys...thinking about getting a kechron q1 and pairing them with some ergo clears(a cherry mx brown spring in a cherry mx clear body)
what do y'all think
you actually bought it
I bought it just to gut it.
I'm going to fit a RK3399 Mini SBC Dev Board in it. I'm going to go ahead and fit a battery inside it
The other one is actually thinner and harder to work with if I'm trying to fit stuff in it
This one turns out to have a lot of open space inside it
https://www.clockworkpi.com/product-page/devterm-kit-a06-series
I'm going to build a more modern looking version of this
What’s in the Box: ClockworkPi v3.14 mainboard A-06 Core module (ARM64-bit Dual-core Cortex-A72 + Quad-core Cortex-A53, Mali-T864, 4GB LPDDR4) Ext. module 6.86-inch IPS screen module Clockwork 65% keyboard Battery module* Dual speaker 58mm 200dpi thermal printer component Shells and bracket system 32GB high-speed TF-card with clockworkOS Shippin...
If the display was actually angled upwards a little bit it actually wouldn't be such a bad device
Because then you can actually use it in a similar manner you would use a stream deck
wow
oh thats pretty cool
https://www.amazon.com/Keyboard-Touchscreen-Ultra-Slim-Aluminum-1920×515P/dp/B09MJ5FLFC/ this is the cheaper more compact one
I prefer things like this for that.
I'd use it for PowerShell/Bash Console and custom Taskbars
Or for messaging applications
ive seen those
Anyone know anything about the adata xpg summoner keyboard?:https://www.ebay.ca/itm/293283274429
I have this keyboard and I broke 3 of the keys (not just the keycaps but the actual switches) and I'm wondering if I can take them out and put other switches in
spilled coffee and now they are stuck
Alright, thanks
That's what you get for putting shit in your coffee
yes, soldering is a thing
if he wanted/knew to solder he wouldn't have asked
scratch tho
tactile bumps are generally sorta scratchy
ok first of all why is there a notch on the macbook air
it honestly looks like a fusion betwwne a 12 inch macbook, macbook air, and 14 inch pacbook pro
No idea kek
Marketing pics be funny
q1 only good modded otherwise looks great
probably should lube the switches as well
and also film them
That's up to them
But I would assume if they're swapping springs they were already planning on doing that
you never know
you should buy some ergo clears from a second hand website like mechmarket
cheaper
was planning on it
ergo clears aren't worth it
try and get akko blues
ergo clears are not worth it. too much work for a switch that tends to be scratchy and inconsistent
also way cheaper
they're a little less tactile than ergo clears but are like half their price and pretty great stock
My keyboard
Amazing picture I knoe
Its mechanical with lubed cherry mx reds or something
How do you know that
I got it from my brother lol
He has some metal keyboard or something
Its expensive
The keycaps is distinctly leopold to my eyes
Ohhhh lol
What are the best mods for my Royal Kludge RK61?
is your rk61 hotswappable?
i just realised my board sounded so muted and when i removed the 1 piece of pe foam it sounded more open which is better in my opinion and my coin mod was probably enough for it lol
nice kbd67r3
Yes
I don’t have the the machinery to solder, at least not at the moment however.
you should put a hole in your plate
I have it equipped with blue switches atm, which I like. I would like to add some foam and possibly silicone O-rings.
first of all get new switches
new switches would make the biggest difference
Thx
sounds like capp
It isnt ill show it when I get home
My borther modified it
They are i think
if someone lubes the switches Id assume they'd also lube the stabs
first step is to balance the wire...
I mean it does reduce rattle if you dont want new stabs
and its only mushy for alittle bit
they're only like that for acouple days in my experience
maybe
It was my brother's main keyboard he modded it alot
oh ok
i believe some people actually used electrical tape instead of bandaids for holee mod
and i tried it, no squish
yea, I use it on cheap boards that aren't worth new stabs
oh
well i dont get why you would get cheap boards fi you not planning to use them
if
what are the general thoughts on the akko 9009 Retro 3098B
9009 keycaps look good
Currently own a Varmilo VA87
display, give them to friends and family, for 20-30$ every couople months gives me smthn to do
akko is a good cheap keycap manufacturer
idk if you want higher quality keycaps get the epbt9009
I like the profile of the akko keycap on the 3068b
I thought it was an entire keyboard
thats not from epbt tho
akko sell both the keycap in that colorway and a keyboard with that keycap on it
epbt just sell a keycap set with that colorway
whoopose
this is the epbt 9009
Anyone knows how I can replace a falsely switch on a Corsair Stafe mk. 2 (Don't blame me, it was a birthday present AND I'm not in custom keyboards so I don't know anything abt soldering or smth like that)
didnt ltt just do a vid on how to replace switches?
They did????
Yep that one
you need to break it in
mushy means not broken in
also even good stabs soemtimes needs balancing
you have to know how to solder + desolder
Imagine epbt
The board is completely modded, fine tuned the switches as well, stabs where lubed a slight bit due to leopold having amazing stabs stock
And the current switches are gat yellows, lubed and worn in
This is my current board, and yes i do have an f13 key
I'm looking for a mid-range tenkeyless keyboard (without the numpad). Any suggestions?
Wired and RGB is preferable as well
MK sponsoring the WAN show is so cool to me lol, I've only seen them as a local keyboard shop but they got BIG as of late
keychron c1
very solid board for the price
i'll check it out
i've also been looking at leopold keyboards
it's not RGB but i've read it's really high quality and for a decent price
Drop CTRL seems to be popular- but DON’T get it. It’s not like it’s a horrible board, but it’s definitely not up to snuff for its price.
I second either a Keychron or Leopold
Lmao autocorrected to “Leopoldo”
that looks alr
what cherry switch do you recommend? i don't know much about them
i'd assume it's mostly preference
make sure you do some reserch on the board before you buy tho
yeah i have been
deciding to get this with silent red switches
i looked at switch comparisons and found that one to suit me best
dont know anything about that board but aslong as you did your own research looks good
silent reds and scratchy and very mushy
I don't recommend cherry switches ... I recommend getting something else
kailh silent box switches pink and brown, bobagum, gateron silent lineup maybe ...
a good prebuilt imo
leopold's cherry batches seems to be better than most of the gamer board sporting the same switch, and their build quality receive high praises
doesn't leopold cherry pick them ? I think I remember seeing that somewhere ...
thats a speculation
all i can say is that the quality of cherries from leopold is generally speaking better than most cherry prebuilts
well I have a durgod fusion with cherry brown and I think that the ones in the old razer blackwiddow stealth 2013 I had were better ... at least smoother than the one in the durgod ...
so durgod probably have average cherry switches
Definitely not cherry
I recommend Kaihua’s Kailh switches, especially the Box line- BOX Royal for a heavy tactile, BOX Silent Brown for a lighter one, BOX Burnt Orange is like the “Goldilocks” tactile in that line.
Clickies- I recommend the BOX White for a light clicky or a BOX Jade or Navy for a heavier, more tactile one
I’m not a linear guy but there are good linears in there too
How is the tactile bump of the box royal ?
More like the burnt orange or more like the silent box brown ?
I just had the greatest idea. instead of switches, use a weighted dynamo for each key
Glass keyboards have been made before
Damn my million dollar idea😢
cherry hg is shockingly good tho, at least the top for modding haha
that nylon housing 💯
too stiff, not gonna be fun to type on
glass caps with a good oleophobic coating could look cool but completely flat slippery caps is ehhhhh
cherry changed its manufacturing thing in 2017
i think
so like pre 2017 cherry switches are slightly different then current ones
so they might be smoother
have you tried hyperglides? it's crazy
what time period did hyperglides come from
oh ok

so its different then regular cherry mx
anyone here used akko switches before?
the switches themselves are "not bad" but the housings are so good
yes
might put akko rose reds into a gk61
ok
sure
go for it
i dont have a lot of expirience with akko
but i heard many people recomending it
and its pretty cheap
so yeah
unless you want the actuation force of rose reds I'd recommend radiant reds over em
yeah i was looking at the rose reds specifically because theyre light
oh wow 35g
????
yeah vintage whites look great
i bottom out every switch i use regardless of type or weight so having them be 35g standard sounds nice
he wants light so i said the lightest akko switch that I remember
oh ok
I have some akko
you won't find better switches for that price ... I'm pretty sure of it
well not in canada at least
yeah i think im gonna go for some akko vintage whites in a gk61
never tried those ... linear ?
I think so
yeah I will never get those ...
i daily them
very good switch
nice clacky bottom out and the spring makes the weighting feel less sudden and more drawn out. perfect light switch tbh
i started using KTT kang whites which are pom/nylon iirc and have a similar nice clacky long pole bottom out. only thing i don't like is the springs since theyre just regular 14mm but thats preference. are also a pretty fantastic switch for the price and are decently light if you wanna check them out
i think theyre about 40g but I could be wrong
thx for the rec but i think id rather go with the vintage whites
Gateron yellow
Nope they are more expensive than what I paid my akko switches
At least when I bought them
really
Gateron yellow, 38cad for 70, 48cad for 110
Akko CS, 24cad for 45
50cad for 90
so for the 70 pack gat yellow it's 1 cent more per switch than akko
but 110 pack gat yellow is 10 cents less per switch compared to akko
so it's about the same, but Gateron is actually slightly cheaper
Milky top black bottom gats are goated
we were talking CAD here ... not usd
what keyboard should i get thats 140 cad include shipping in that price
Some akko board maybe
Some keychron board maybe ...
what layout do you want
gateron x ( aka milky top yellows on steroids) are actually pretty good
any layout
have you checked out the keychron c1, its a pretty solid board for the price
Keychron C1 Mechanical Keyboard. Tenkeyless Layout. Connects via wired type-c cable and users can hot swap every switch in seconds with the hot-swappable version. Compatible with Mac, Windows, iOS, Android, Linux. Gateron Switches. 15+ RGB Backlight
its sold out
with the brown and hot swap it is
yea...
it will cost me 118 cad
what switchs should i get i got a extra 45 cad
Akko lavender purple
are they queit?
Not ... they are tactile ... so not clicky but not quiet either
what's the difference between that and the k8?
For good tactile quiet you want kailh silent box brown, aliaz silent or boba u4 ... but those will be more expensive
And there's some other that I don't know much about
is there any slight cheaper options?
'
Description: - Portable and Compact: Easy to carry, lightweight, suitable for the mechanical keyboard beginner, enthusiast. - Function: Mechanical keyboard shaft opener replace the internal spring or debug and lubricate the shaft. - Mechanical touch: linear, soft tactile, click tactile. - Tactile...
what about those
do your own research I Dont have much experience with different switches. I use kenetic labs penguins
No idea ... first time I see those
unpopular opinion: poppy clack sounds better than thock
^hated
...but then, I like linear switches 🤷♂️
(yes, bought with MX Speed Silver, and I'm not even sorry!)
perhaps outemu silent forest?
it's basically a slightly older gazzew u4
it's a gazzew design tho
https://keebsforall.com/collections/mx-keyboard-switches/products/gateron-aliaz-silent-switch
@shut flame use code ALEXOTOS for 5% off
you can get silent Aliaz here at 56 cents a piece
so like 42$ for 70 pcs
so like 40$ with discount
Oh for CA
Tbh I'd aim for diced fruit but those aren't silent
i might get those 2 things
Yeah, Ajazz are good switches though not silent
i searched up a sound test of them and they sound good
im proably gonna get some new key caps bc i dont really like the ones on that board to much
or do i get this

what about this build
im not to sure on the board yet tho
Jeez these links 😂
yea
Outemu silent greys for tactile and white for linear
Mercifully silent for the price. Silent grays have a nice light tactility to them (a little less tactile than an akko blue) but are mushy on the bottom out; shouldn't matter considering the bump though
ima go with diced fruit peaches they sound nice
hey everyone can anyone help me with picking out what frankenswitch sounds better? its just simple 2 simple frankenswitches. any feedback will be very appreciated.
for reference
Outemu housing + milky yellow sounds deeper but as a whole outemu reds > gat milky yellows tbh
Both in terms of feel and sound
doesnt milky housing + gat red stem sound deeper?
Both sound deep to me
try listening to both at 4 seconds
Barely a difference
If any
Both are similarly deep. I don't think theres a noticable difference
It depends on your keyboard, desk, air, temperature.
Don't expect your own Frankenstein to sound the same like the sample btw
Unless the samples are recorded by you
oh it is recorded by me
Quite light innit
My mans has keyboard
irl the milky housing and red stem sounds deeper than outemu housing and yellow stem but the difference is minimal and the milky housing+red stem is significantly scratchier than outemu housing+yellow strm
I would go for the less scratchy
Unless it's unnoticeable while typing ... which would be surprising
You using it as a weapon?
Never got the whole "heavy keyboard" crap. Do you pick it up and go "Oh yea, that's flippin solid" then set it back down regularly?
"man i'm getting my money's worth"
it's for self defense ... you can also plant a voice command activated c4 bomb in there ... add to the weight and make it sound godly ... keycaps and switches act as shrapnel
Uranium keycaps for extra damage
yes totally ... those not dying will just get cancer in the long run ... that's what you get for trying to steel my keyboard
🙏
I think some say its for that "premium feel". But i dont get why you would need a very heavy keyboard, my keyboard is just like 0.25kg lmao
thats with a steel plate and plastic case with some coins
the weight is enough for me lol
as an American, I insist my keyboard be at least 5/8 Kilgramme
"Item Weight 2.69 pounds"
its just a flex because heavier=higher quality and more expensive materials
Sounds like audiophile stuff
its wrose then audiophile stuff
worse
its probably better then audiophile stuff
you can buy a coiled cable for about like 70 bucks
thats better then audiophile stuff
thats the upper limits
Audiophiles buy 1k cables iirc

yeah
so its better then audiophile stuff
but people buy otd 356cl for 8k+
so its not better then audiophile stuff
I mean that's the one who buy into that scam.
Just like in keyboards, you got gbs where the owner run away with all the money
I have known that person for 2 years now
Proud of you my friend
shut
@hearty cedar help this human bro
He isn't home
He at work he will get back to you in 5 hours ish
Probally less
Well yoy get a reply tomorrow then
Trust me he know alot
What layout
Alr
Lemma take a look, does it have to be 120 total or can it be 120 before shipping?
Alr
Alr
Leopold fc750r
Nothing custome keyboard is ever instocl
Just wait for it be came back in stock
That's OEM so it's probably not very good, but if you just want a mechanical Keyboard and don't really care about acoustics and feel it's probably fine
Do your own research
You do care for feel and acoustics?
Alr probably not that then, oem keyboards don't care for acoustics and feels to much
Lmao
Asus keyboard
I don't really pay attention to manufactures like that, look on Reddit or smthn to see what people think of it
Wait for it to be in stock
That's what I said
Razor?
Idk much about this board but I think I remember hearing good thing https://drop.com/buy/drop-entr-mechanical-keyboard
No💀 I ain't a keyboard nerd and razers price to performance is trash
Not razor they're not good for the money
Idk anything about this either but you said you wanted 60%
Ah
Get a Leopold wait for it to be in stock
Ok well for tkl, I have the keychron c1 and it's pretty decent for the price
Get if from china
Keychron C1 Mechanical Keyboard. Tenkeyless Layout. Connects via wired type-c cable and users can hot swap every switch in seconds with the hot-swappable version. Compatible with Mac, Windows, iOS, Android, Linux. Gateron Switches. 15+ RGB Backlight
Idk
I think they have a 30$ flat shipping fees
But that would still be in your budget I think
Which one is that?
I'll jsut look nvm l.ao
Lmao
You want wireless?
I have a nearly wireless Leopold
I don't have that baord so I'm not too sure, look at what other people have said
Tbh I'd wait for Leopold or get the c1, that's my take
Yea
My keyboard be looking wireless
Oh wow it does, is there a hole under the desk?
Nope
What config?
It goes into my monitor stand
Ohh
That's smart
And what switch?
Wouldn't you want reds then
Also the browns for the c1 are not good
They're very scratchy and the bump is hardly noticeable
Do you know the difference between the different switches?
Red are linear, they have the lowest actuation force and the keystroke is a smooth motion
Browns are a tactile, they have a bump that tells you when the switch actuates
Blues are clickys and are the same as tactile but they are much louder and make a click sound
The Leopold has reds
I explained it, linear is a smooth motion, tactile has a bump
Alr
If that fits your budget yea
Oh yea
Asking as you get the hotswap model you can easily swap switches
Sure that works
They're palm wrests are actually quite nice
Np
If you want keycaps I'd look else where from keychron, there keycaps sometimes have quility control issues
Does anyone know of the model of the legion 5 with the 4 zone rub keyboard? Sorry if this is the wrong place
Drop has keycaps
there's not such thing a switches for gaming ... it's only a matter of preference
you like tactile ... not brown ... brown are a kind of tactile within a whole universe of tactile switches
brown switches are a type of light tactiles
ever so slightly tactile
