1st, your keyboard is not supposed to be moving when press the keys.
2nd are you always hammering your keyboard that way ?
From what I can hear, sounds more like the stabilizers rattleling and probably you have very thin plastic keycaps.
Either replace the caps and lube or replace the stabilizers
lmao ok thanks
is there a good way to make a thick piece of pe foam thinner
is HyperX Alloy Elite II good?
yes software isn't good but I heard there's a new better one in beta...
or HyperX Alloy FPS
okay but would I consider red switches or silver? I know silver ones are fast but also short travel, not good for typing. Reds are good for typing but are not fast.
i would bet you that there is no difference in latency between red and silver
if anything, its the lightness of the spring that causes that placebo effect
so you're telling me that I should go for the reds?
yea
Idk I'm trying one of these kb's and reds are louder than silvers...which very matters to me. I don't like loud kb noise
except if I lube reds, that'd make a difference right?
a slight difference in loudness
since the switch still functionally hit the upper and bottom housing, there will still be noises
if you want complete silent, you have to go with silent switches, which has rubber dampening where the switch stem and the housing hit each other
something like this thing will be much more silent
Skip to 8:00 for a typing demonstration.
Get it here: https://mykeyboard.eu/catalogue/leopold-fc900r-black-red-font-pd-ansi-mx-silent-red_650/
Today we look at a silent keyboard! My first look at a Leopold, as well as the first video on Cherry MX Silent switches. Hope you enjoy! :)
My keyboard reviews: http://bit.ly/1TbOtft
My switch teardowns...
this should give you an idea of how loud this particular board with silent red will sound
aye will look into it, thanks
fake news
If you keep your packaging after unboxing things, chances are you have some thin PE foam lying around.
Sup everyone. I'm a huge n00b when it comes to certain hardware sutff and keyboards are definitely on that list. Would anyone be kind enough to help with a keyboard recommendation?
Currently I have a Razer Pro Type. I like the sound and typing on it mostly...I think the switches are okay but I would like something that's a little bit more quiet and not quite as much depth to the keys (if that makes sense)...the biggest pain though is battery life. I can barely get 1 day of use out of it with backlight enabled.
Would anyone have any recommendations on what I can look for as a replacement? I don't really mind the price as long as it's very good quality
topre
P.S. I don't game more than maybe 1-2 hours per week, if that, but I do write a lot of code and spend my life in the terminal
hhkb or a realforce
Thanks. I kind of like HHKB from what I've seen but it has replaceable batteries which I'm really trying not to use for environmental reasons
also as good
layout is your preference
hhkb layout is nice once you get used to it
quite easy to learn
Ok...so would you say that topre is better than something more conventional which people go for like keychron or something with cherry mx for sustained usage?
it is
Awesome...thanks for the advice
no problem
something to note
if you find 45g topre not tactile enough, you can swap the domes
I recommend these guys
they also sell silencing rings and a soon™️ full set of mx conversion sliders
Cool...as long as they are able to deliver to the Netherlands, I'll definitely check them out
shouldn't be a problem
you can probably ask dean(the owner) to underdeclare for vat
Iirc there’s an eu vendor but I can’t remember them right now, I’ll ask
Topre best
I was thinking of the silencing rings T_T
You can try mechmarket as well
Thank you
it's preference
can anyone reccomend me a good custom keyboard build?
I want something with linear switches, RGB and full black
I was thinking GMMK pro with pudding keycaps and akko radient red switches
If you want RGB, you should look for a at least some clear top switches, otherwise every shade of colors will be off.
should I get gateron optical or mechanical switches if theyre around the same price
whats a good white rgb keyboard for like under £90 tkl or 60%
I have the GMMK Pro and I will say
It needs a few mods for it to sound good, particularly the Jelly mod (or PE foam mod; "Jelly mod" is easier to type and say while still making sense).
Also the stock stabs need replacing lol
Out of the box, it'll definitely sound better than some cheapo mech or a Razer Huntsman, but not great IMHO.
Q1 is cheaper but will also need better stabs and a Jelly mod to alleviate its hollow sound.
what's the best way to clean a keyboard
No problemo
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pgnF42ZoRSw
no really though, prbly just some air spray/can thing, i use a brush thats meant for electronics and in my case i can take the thing apart which helps a great deal
Check out Storyblocks Video at https://www.videoblocks.com/LinusTechTips
So you've crumbed up your keyboard, but who has time to remove all the keys and clean it by hand? Can you just stick it in the dishwasher? Today: we find out.
Buy Corsair K70 RGB MK.II
On Amazon (PAID LINK): https://geni.us/Srifhtw

that is honestly a relatively underrated pro of mehcanical/customer keyboards is usually u can take them apart completely
all I can do on mine is take off the keycaps, spacebar springs, and stabilizers
Same
I alwats use a 🖌️
Always
I take the keycaps out and try to get all the dirt out
And then i wash my keycaps wth warm water and soap
@prisma basin
I'm just washing the keycaps
I'll put them back on tmr after I get my can of air and can clean the keyboard itself
shit is really disgusting
amazon
So I got an email from keychron about the Q2 ... some updates and such ... can't wait to get that board
You can also completely take apart a rubber dome tho?
Probably easier to do so too omegalul
oh i meant as opposed to off the shelf stuff you usually get which you can't take apart at all
I am talking about off the shelf rubber domes
Not topre
Have you ever tried to disassemble one?
It's laughably easy
after months of bad micro controllers and bex files
finally finished my sofle RGB dragon fruit pudding keyboard, now with extra USB-C!
nice!!! i remember my first ergo board, its super fun. some people disagree with them having a numrow - mine didnt have one - but it is much more convenient to have one
2.5 years ago lol
A corne right?
was tempted by that but saw the sofle had encoders and more keys
corne is probs one of the next i will try to make
yep a corne
i dont personally care much for the encoder
there are some niz (topre clone) ergo boards coming out of japan, i'm considering trying one of them
even though i do tend to use more conventional boards now its still super cool to see all of these more unique things
https://flic.kr/s/aHsmDMnhRj japan really is the place where all of these boards come from
dam quite striking
Ijust want to use the encoders for moving though text, or spinning a model about
that said might opt to make my own space mouse for that last one, greatscott! has a great video about using HDD motors as encoders, and i found a lot of old HDD's when i moved to my new place
that said, next keyboard project is actually remaking mt razer stealth
its so old that some of the keys are failing, synapses doesn't want to pick it up, and synapse3 can see it but can't do anthing with it
seriously tried everything to get the software to work, so figured i'd take it appart and make a new keyboard, like a 60% one
Thanks
anyone know if there is a k65 esk pcb available, (the older plus 18) as im working on building my own keyboard, however i can't work with keyboards smaller then the standard 104/108 layout, however ive gotten used to the plus 18 layout from the g510s i used to use, however i can't find any keyboarrd pcb with more then the standard 104 layout
So
What do you guys think of the keychron Q1/2 "gasket mounting"
They sell it as a good thing but I don't see how i'd like my kb to flex
Btw, here is a kb I built from scratch (designed the PCB etc)
https://imgur.com/a/PjUv4Bv
Accidentally created the most tactile switches on the market. U4t boba stems in moyu black housings
frick thats getting into some asmr terrirory

Is the womier k87 good
I have one, love the polycarbonate sound, good entry level hotswap keyboard.
wb va87m
It's for key feel so it doesn't feel stiff. It's a preference thing.
I haven't had any gasket mounted board for mow ... can't wait for the Q2 to come out
Don't know? Never tried a Varmillo KB.
65% Q1 lesgoooo
i think ill go to it as its similar price to k87+cap repalce
You can replace the switches, stabilizers and keycaps on the K87 too.
pov: no keycap puller
a wire keycap puller from amazon does wonder
also I think that my gateron yellow have leaf ping, specially on the spacebar ... or maybe it's the stabs ... maybe I should relube it
i use my fingers to just pull caps off
was gonna do
just put a 1u on there to isolate switch vs stab
if the sound goes its the stab
why the F I didn't thin of that
i wont be doing that
ok no it's definitely the switch, thanx for the idea
Clean and simple configuration
Nice
Thanks
Yours?
Yes my K87. That's the fun part about custom KB, you can change the look and feel if you want to.
good thing its all off and not broken,
bad thing: sus af to do
sorry about the keyboard grime i'll blow it off with air compressor
Me too. They're to light for me as type way more than I game. So tactiles for me ;)
yeah same ... I'm about to replace the gateron yellow that I decided to try again for the 3rd time ... and still have a hard time to be accustomed to them ...
I tried heavier springs and it's not enough. Still miss the bump.
Next project, I will do a full custom job on my K95. Paint, switches, stabs. Just for the experience of removing and soldering switches.
That's a fun project to do
looking for a mechanical keyboard within the budget of 100$ that feels nice but not very loud (browns maybe)?
only mechanical keyboard i used for long periods was a kdragon keyboard blue. it was too loud for me.
does anyone have a site to a MSI GK80 MX Red keyboard?
nowhere here in aus sells them and i have had no luck over the past 4 months trying to locate one globally
@gentle pollen https://www.newegg.com/p/N82E16823167018
er thanks but thats a GK40 that costs almost $1000 aud....
im after a GK80
I imagine that the vendors choice is limited in aud ?
decently limited yeah
Just like us in canada
they were sold everywhere here up until about 6 months ago
then they were swepped under the rug seemingly
people refuse to acknowledge they even exist here half the time
never had this problem before
i did have trouble finding the mouse i wanted
ironically a msi product too
but i found one ebay US
so i guess ebay/"insert country here"
Did you check Bangood ?
ya
Your chances are dim then !? For now
I just saw in canada restocking expected date Nov. 16 2021
i would guess its one of those automated timers
that just keeps going up until the site confirms stock
a lot of our sites do it here
Probably
Maybe send them an email to inquire if they ship internationally
i just tried to buy one and its canada only :(
If you ever see one in canada, I could ship to you ups or other freight
ill keep that in mind, thanks
I only found a GK 50 in stocks
yeah it seems that the highest number stocked is the 50
everywhere
the 70 and 80 seemingly vanished
its very strange for a keyboard thats < 3 years old
like
even used
not a trace
ebay only has the little plastic stands for them for sale
and the odd keyset
same with msi's GM 70 and 60 mice, and GH70 and 60 headphones
i was lucky with the headphones i wanted - i got the last set of gh70s available anywhere on any site i could find worldwide
the mice i want - a gm70, the only one I can find is listed on ebay US
im just like why??? these arent rare peripherals
but trust me to want those MSI products in particular
guess ill go f*ck myself with a logitech g910 while i wait
🤣
its just the keyboard i am after
i dont care about opinions on x keyboard is better and has good caps and all that garbage
the 80 is what i am in search of
i hope you understand
Based tbh
i mainly find it to be the nicest looking of MSIs lineup and the cherry mx reds are very entising also
but what msi has done
is theyve kind of released their peripherals in teirs I guess you could call it?
like for example the DS interceptor stuff
i dont really want to mix and match between these dumb teirs theyve made as i already have a gh70 headset
the gh70 design is matched more to the gk 80 keyboard and the gm70 mouse
its kind of hard to explain what i mean
but if you look at their products youll kind of get it i think?
for preface why msi as well
my new rig
is full msi
ive always liked msi
so i figured why not
right now quite literally the only thing in my pc that isnt MSI branded is my ram
heck I even have a disk drive thats msi branded
and i want to extend out to having all msi peripherals as well
im quite pleased in my efforts of locating all msi parts so far
thanks! im very proud of it so far
Anyone have suggestions for a black rgb 80% somewhat silent keyboard?
Alloy Origins Core with red switches (?)
Let me check that out brb
Is it quieter than blue switches?
by a lot actually
Blues are tactile with click jackets.
Reds are smooth linears.
you can get a hotswappable keeb with sum gateron silents tho
ye
Can you send me a link of that?
idrk what to search
I took the click jacket out of one once and it turned into a linear
ye, thats an option too
I don’t recommend it but it was for experimenting
gk61x on amazon 🕴️
oh wait
u want a 80% keeb
Yah
So a TKL
Is that a brand or model
Oh I see
Sooo what would work
That is hot swap and silent and stuff
It depends on how much you want to spend
around $100 could be lower
^^^
GMMK TKL with some silent reds/black
thats it
k
This is my daily driver, and what a pleasure to type on!
The feel of the SA profile keycaps is oh so smooth and feels like the perfect height.
Build:
- GMMK TKL - Thick case foam added
- Gateron Silent Black - 205g0, TX Thick film, spring swapped w/ 63.5g progressive springs, bag-lubed w/ Krytox 105 oil
- Cherry Plate mounted stabilizers - clip...
sweet thanks
build my own custom cable today. Not the best by any means, but it's great for what I paid (14€)
whats the keebs name
looks like a 65 mercutio
it's somewhat similar. Similar look
It's the discipline65
soundtest if you are interested ^^
recorded with phone, but gives a rough idea on how it sounds. It's great imo.
Using lubed gateron yellows
this is with an actual dedicated microphone
Ping me when u get an answer
@proper current its a membrane keyboard
@proper current if you want a glorified gaming rubber dome keyboard then yeah ... but I would go for something else ... also logitech software is really meh
Na software is decent
I didn't find it decent when used it
Ugly
Cringe take
75% GOAT
all sizes are good
I'd like a mechanical keyboard but those r way out of my budget of like 35 pounds
I need to wait another year for 15 pounds
PERHAPS, nah I have my second one at my mates place, although i did buy the bridge before the second graphics card so I guess kinda lol
Lol
Setup at work, for now, until I get sick of layers
Mad Catz ... lol
Hell yea. 😆 Surprisingly, it still works without issues. Usually they get the click failures and optical jump issues.
My boss bought us those mice quite a few years ago. Don't know why lol
MX 518 or go home
I have a few of those at home
Good
Or the original intellimouse
Yeah
who stole your numbers
the exposed pcb is cool but god help you if you need to type a phone number
Can i ask a question about mice here?
Try and fight a budget knock off one on Ali express
They are usually okay if you are on a budget
Hey man
I finally opened up my TVS me hanical keyboard to do some troubleshooting
I need some help please
The delete key on numpad side was not working
But the solder underneath looks okay..
Or am I wrong
it looks fine from the image
Yeah
I guess no soldering work is necessary
I'm just closing up everything
Don't really want to open up the switches themselves
best lubricant for linear switches
205g0 or 105
krytocs right?
yeah
Would u guys recommend this?
I don’t recommend that
romer g tactiles aren't really tactile they are okay i used to like them as they where light but a few years later they were so bad for typing that i started to hate them
cute Mercutio!
Rk-84 is like 65 quid
Ok
It's an 80 percent keyboard?
I need it to be 100
Ohhh
And I don't think this is a "shit" keyboard
It isn’t very tactile tho
Plus this one hasn't got the stupid keys like the predescecor
I tried it in pc world and it wasn’t that good
Go to curry’s pc world and try a few in the gaming section
Okay
that is unholy
why?
the labels for the keys are fucked
Hey guys
Cheapest full keyboard red cherry MX switches?
Cause they all like 120 pounds here
70 pounds approx
Preferably around the 60 range if possible
If there's no such thing just ping me lol
I can second this. One of the most feature-packed budget keyboards around.
It's a shame the software is trash but I believe you can use 3rd party software to remap the keys.
Apple’s gonna be held to this, no doubt about it

you mean the lack of numpa? :troll:
Does anyone know how to fix a hard mouse pad?
I just got my mouse pad for a week and changed my mouse skates of my mouse with Tiger ICE, after using for about a week, my mouse pad got rough on the center.
what's the website used for testing if each key on a keyboard is working?
I got my first ever barebones keyboard
tom680
i download ek switch hitter
but i guess searching up keyboard tester on google and then choose the first result should be good enough
is it free?
it is free
thanks
switch hitter so good
last night the was the first time I've ever put switches on a bb kit, is it normal to hear the sound of walking on gravel?
if the board you're using has VIA support, that has a built in key tester which i prefer for those as it allows testing fn keys and such easier
sorry i really have no clue what you mean there
what switches? some have worse crunch than others
and is it spring or leaf crunch? the former is more easily solved
gat yellows, black bottom, milky top
unless you mean sound of inserting them?
like taking a bite out of a tree branch
leaf crunch could also be solved pretty easily imo
yeah
yea
as long as they're against the pcb and clipped into the plate then its fine
phew
i've had some awfully crunchy leaves that werent solved with cleaning or lube
its much more obvious with tactiles than linears
I've had anxiety all day thinking I ruined them
nah, u gud
I ordered 10 t1 durock tactiles switches, I don't know what to do with them, any recommendations?
I only have 10 switches of it.... :| should I just preserve them?
throw it out
why would you even order 10
I thought it was gonna fit for a 2 key keyboard, and 10 was the minimum to order switches in my country
that was my first board i modded

cursed
thank u
Which case is that?
i have no clue now
was a few years ago
it was a cheap thing from amazon which i desoldered
lol
thinking of getting something like akko switches, something that isn't outemu, cherries, or gaterons, any suggestions, I like linears that aren't quiet, but isn't loud enough to be clicky
Anyone got any recommendations for 100% case that has not a floating switch design?
I love my G80
floating is where u can see the sides of the swtiches
the case doesnt go up high enough to cover them
Like those Razer Huntsmans or Corsair boards
u can buy from keyboardco
they're in the uk but their eu shipping is good
mx brown german layout
?
he only wants iso de remember
yea they have a few german layout
Heck, they got 42 boards
the black version is in stock yeah
no u
so true
They sounded really compelling when I watched Chcyrosrans video on them
chyros
chyros is not a authority
I never said he is
i'm going to get this one, but in american layout
or tkl, whichever u prefer lol
That was a joke, fuck MX brown
😔
dont u like the feel of the blacks
ah they're not available in other switches
i prefer tkl cus muscle memory and i have a separate numpad which is perfmanently on my desk
I actually use the nav block and numpad x)
Also I have been very happy with this G80
In yellow light, it doesn'T look too pleasant
But so does my mouse
It kinda is a wet cardboard
I thought about this one
ah ducky
varmilo is also not a thing for you?
leopold is better than ducky and varmilo
there are some fc750r available in mykeyboards.eu
unless you need the numpad
which iirc you need
But I have grown on that numpad
you mean mx silver?
Iz va92m good
yea its light af
No, I mean MX grey
Cherry has put a MX Grey under the spacebar of their G80-3000 boards
mx grey is the spacebar switch for most cherry mx black boards
That one switch is really bothering me
MX black
I had MX reds
And I never thought that MX black would be THAT much heavier
But I got used to it pretty quickly and o-rings also made it easier to type on
But god damn that space bar screws me over
Glarses wasn't kidding when he said that you have to commit if you got such a heavy switch
what detailed tutorial can you guys recommend on how to clip and lube stabs?
I think taeha types has one
aight, thanks
No idea how to spell his name, though

you want to go back to red weighting?
Actually, it's fine
with spring swapping u can have any weight you want
https://mykeyboard.eu/catalogue/leopold-fc980m-pd-black-ansi-mx-red_3615/
https://mykeyboard.eu/catalogue/fc980c-black-ansi-topre-45g_80/
yea i found some boards in stock
I don't type anyway, I mainly hammer my keyboard like an ogre
including a topre
they're ansi
well shite
@urban glade no way zeal is selling zealio v1s again?
fucking sweet
probably
my zeal v1s turned out to be jwk fakes lol
lol
back when everybody hated jwk for making fakes, look at them now 😌
really excited for the clickiez
how do I lube springs if I don't have the tear drop thingy?
what are you trying to lube them with
k205g0
lol
lol
get an oil
lol
you can lube springs with grease but it'll drive you insane trust me
there, i said it too
just get victorinox its cheap and good for springs
I searched it, all I got were swiss army knives
its apparently an oil for swiss army knife, so no wonder
I use roughly 1 drop per 10 springs but ymmv
Stefans Swiss Army knife that hopefully got a phillips head screwdriver attached?
\
Philippines
i guess stick to good old krytox?
ayooo g305 white gang
Isn’t that quite close to Malaysia iirc? You could try buying krytox oils from keys.my
China'ed
I got the notification for that reply lol
Hell yeah, yet another g305 white gang member
I’ve been meaning to get an mx master or ergo for ages
Or maybe a trackball too
Keep that around just for gaming
also dang thats a nice classic numpad
I'm so glad I didn't go for the black G305. How quickly that became plastic got worn down
It’s ps/2 and has a ps/2 port on the back of it for passthrough
You can see the main board is plugged into the back of it
The MX master is really clunky
How is it clunky?
Ah true, I do have quite small hands
yeah, having more than 2 buttons on the side is a deal breaker for me
so do I ; - ;
I like the idea of the gestures as a replacement for the touch gestures I lose by not using trackpad
If I were you, I would test the mouse at a retailer first.
It was too big, even for me.
Tbh I’d rather buy from Amazon and return if I don’t like than go through the effort of going somewhere to test it
I’m happy leaving the house once a week
That's kinda scummy tbh
Cause those mice won't ever be sold.
too thick for spring imo
So I prefer not to send something back.
for stabs, its perfectly fine
you can practice enough with it to know the exact amount needed to manually lube the spring with a brush
you will not be able to do bag lubing the spring as effective as oil consistency lubes
which variant do I choose?
4g should be good?
yea
God damn
Hi dumb, I'm Noah
how confident are y'all 3g of k205g0 is enough for like 70 switches?
well that would be very confident
i got 5g of lube and after 65 gateron ks9 yellow late my tub of lube looks virtually the same
?
phew, thanks that's a month worth of anxiety gone
also the shipping in this website is 1USD so yay
so is this good?
yea thats good
you can technically use 205g0 for both stab and spring lubing (for spring lubing you will have to use a brush to manually applied the lube)
you got the warning too?
is it bad my lube has just been sitting for a whole month inside packaging, and after I opened the packaging, I just let it sit in my table for like, a whole month again?
I haven't opened the lube itself at all
K2
Thoughts on this board? Wanting to get it as a gift for a friend. https://www.bestbuy.com/site/corsair-k70-rgb-tkl-champion-series-mechanical-gaming-keyboard-backlit-rgb-led-cherry-mx-speed-keyswitches-black/6453149.p?skuId=6453149

All corsair boards are shit
Whats the price on that one
(Only Keycaps) 60% PBT Keycaps Set OEM for MX Switches Mechanical Keyboard ANSI Layout GH60 RK61/ALT61/Annie/poker GK61 GK64 (Sakura 1) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B082KPV28K/ref=cm_sw_r_apan_glt_fabc_NB29H6N8FAKHTVE9TCVA?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1
Board is an epomaker gk64x
Tape mod, and some cotton balls in the case
they look really nice
Lubed gateron black inks
It depends on the lube you use -
Lots of the cheaper krytox oils are home mixes and will separate over time, but you can just mix them for a bit yourself and they’ll come back together fine
Sorry just saw. The price is $90, the switches are silver but idk what kind of caps it has. Just feels like regular keycaps? Idk much about this stuff
Pretty much what she is looking for is a tkl board with blue switches, programmable rgb, and one of those volume wheels
This might fit the bill https://steelseries.com/gaming-keyboards/apex-7-tkl?switch=blue
My keyboard
i also like mx blues
I used to like them back when cherry was all I knew. running tactile (pandas)for a few months now. its really hard to go bac to my old blue ducky one 2 . I like the light weight to the press and the board being plastic has some nice flex to it and deeper tonality than a generic board. but fuck me are the clicks ever grating. also the near non existent tactile bump is hard to deal with
I've heard palmrests are bad but man do I feel like one would be good for gaming with my K2v2
Any opinions on palm/wristrests?
I use the glorious one but Im pretty sure keychron has more options sizin wise
I like wooden but I dont mind how rigid and not soft it is because I used to runa marble wrist rest. like generally you dont wanna be using one. but wood I think is pretty good . never really had an issue with a wood one.
man I used to like cherry browns but even stock gateron browns/reds are so much less scratchy
or maybe im just lucky
basically lir running the plastic one razer packs in to alot of their keebs
gateron just generally feels smoother. I have a bag of getron yllows for a budget build and I dont even wanna lube the for how cheap they are they really are impressive. almost as smooth as my tangies
I bought my K2 with reds since I wanted to try out lighter switches for typing
so smooth
but switch QC is inconsistent
anyone know anything about the keychron phantom switches
They are supposed to be factory lubed and sound so good on video
maybe not that good in reality though
they are basically gateron with pre lubed from the factory
and yea, dont take soundtests as gospel on how a board will sound irl
I use a modified Olympia SM1 typewriter
what software did you make the pcb in? ive been looking at making my own as i can't find any in the layout that i want, but non of the programs i have used had cherrry 5 pin orr 3 pin stenciles nor a way to put those in
the most common one is KiCAD
@sudden flicker yeah kicad
And you can put third party prints or even make your own
cool, may i ask in regards to the keys on the left i asume that those are the numpad keys? i myself wanna make one using macro's in exes im not fully sure on if the pico can handle that or if i were to need a better microcontroler
chip, as in a barebones chip? or as in a microcontroler thats basicly just a chip

Microcontroller
It’s all there
And in the qmk docs
Yes they are but you can use them for whatever you want
I used a teensy 2.0+
ok, well i got one of those i was planning to use for a trackpad maybe i can just integrate the 2 then
also thanks for that that helps a ton
Np
Do you guys have any recommendations for 75% keebs, like products you like or smth ?
I had a keychron K2 but the cat puked on it
Hi, so I want a mousepad for a maximum of 3000-3500 lkr and that's the last resort so as cheap as possible also I should be able to control the RGB from an app and maybe later connect it to signal RGB.
sorry but for that price idk if rgb is even an option
FYI 3500lkr is abt $17
its a little more then that
but i got a desk pad that was 25 euro that is rgb but only control is a button on it
So is no mousepad ok I have a razer viper mini
i mean you can look up mousepads on aliexpress those are cheap enough to fit your budget just not rgb
mouse and keyboard don't really change anything in this regard
from my googling its about 23 euro
You can't get like any mousepad at all?
For 17$ just get like the absolute cheapest you can
you can get rgb mousepads for that price from china prty much
dunno what else is local to that part of the world
So if I dont go RGB would you recommend something that matches my theme or just a black one would do?
My theme is bright yellow

anyone recommend a switch that fits on the outemu style pcb's?
which type of switches do you want?
tactiles
okay, check you gazzew selections
man works directly with outemu to make switches
is there like a guide, so I won't like, make haste decision making and get dissapointed in the end?
ahh thanks
ocean blue or lavender purple, what'd you reckon I get?
is it bad to go for a switch just because you liked the colour? even if I know I won't see them anyway underneath the keycaps
ahhh
I mostly pick switches for color and I don't know what some of them are anymore lolol
ionno what this is supposed to be
give up and convert to topre
if you mean the keycaps, they're ugly
that keycaps colorway is too "slap in the face"
too vibrant that made it looks nauseating
I mean if that's my color theme then it should be fine right?
i have tobber
and another board with deskeys bke domes
reminds me of perrywork's mcdonalds keyboard lol
with the colorway
mcdonalds caps on mcdonalds borb
I like the majestouch 2 yellow keycaps
r5 man of culture
I Will be painting my room m a similar color as well
I prefer lavender purple
Higher tactility, no spring ping/no leaf ping, after the bump it's smooth until the bottom (it's not on the ocean blue, you can feel the progressive spring doing it's things)
R4 >>>>>>>
I think there's something wrong with X pcb
The switch I initially put inside it worked when I put it in the C one
But it didn't work when I tested the initial C switch on the z pcb
Did you bend the pins moving it from one to the next?
@chrome raft
And do you know how to test the socket with tweezers?
nope I didn't
You have tweezers?
I know, lemme grab em
Kk
ok what do I do?
Just tag me when u ready
Plug it in and short the contacts see if it inputs the letter
can i post a question about mouses in here or is it keyboards only
Yes you can
i'm having issues with with corsair scimitar pro not registering middle mouse. i've tried resetting the mouse (unplug, LMB&RMP, plug in until LEDs flash) but the LEDs don't flash when i plug it in, i've checked other solutions like "tilt it to the right and click the hell out of MMB
can't seem to figure it out. MMB doesn't feel squishy, or like the switch is out, but who knows
Hey anyone knows where i can buy keycaps for keychron C2 for spanish layout?
Is it new? could be dust or something got loose. i had a logitech mice die on me like that the switch just gave out lost the spring action.
is there a mechanical switch that sounds similar to the APEX 3
well no
cause there are a million factor that affect how a keyboard sounds on a soundtest
rip
I stopped myself buying a new keychron K2. Because I already have lots of keyboards, and I spent too much on tech this month already.
but ... next month is looking likely 🙂
Hey guys I am looking for a cheap mechanical 60% keyboard with cherry-Red-alike switches and key Illumination (no RGB). Any recommendations?
whats cheap to you?
and where are you from?
i believe that thing is a sad cardboard in terms of build quality
you can check out the redragon k552
K552 is tkl tho and not 60% ...
Check out the kekove snowfox, gk61 or rk 61 for 60%
Also if you want the k552 you can change the switches for some akko linear switches ...
Just got a 2 month old corsair K65 Mini for 70€ 😆
sorry to hear that
Why?
corsair boards are overpriced and low quality
can we attach a wrist rest to Ducky one 2 mini?
lmao
Got the Strafe mk1 since Release and its working great ever since
So does a 10€ keyboard
Awesome man 👍
Lmao
I got for mechanical keyboard and one of them is my gf's strafe, it really is the worst of the bunch
The keycaps do not even hold their own x)
Thats why i use my Hardware as intended and dont abuse it
MX Brown 🤮
Alright sell me on a keyboard. $400 budget. Was looking at a Razer Huntsman with the Red Linear optical switches because I love my current blackwidow that I’ve been using since 2012
It must have RGB (doesn’t have to be addressable)
Coming in white would be a huge bonus.
Or pink
I'm not the one daily driving it hopefully haha
Btw I'm probably going to buy a keychron Q1 bare one iso so I'll have to choose my switches
Maybe the gateron phantom, they are pre lubed
I believe ducky are making white +RGB keebs
If you want something more specific you'll need to delve into the world of custom kbs
I’m happy with the performance of my 9 year old beat up blackwidow. So if it’s better than that, I’ll be a happy camper
Kemove snowfox, gk61, rk61 those come in white
there's a lot of keyboard that can come on white
No need to go full custom
I’m an electrical engineer so soldering doesn’t scare me either lolz
Well it's more about differences than performance, subjectivity over objectivity, since most kbs "perform" the same in the end
where are you from?
https://protozoa.studio/collections/group-buys-keysets/products/usa-command-tkl
this doesnt come with per key lighting tho
BY YOUR COMMAND Beef up your battle station with the COMMAND TKL, based on Protozoa's 'FROST' TKL released earlier this year.An all CNC stacked plastic case with CNC milled polycarbonate bottom. Silicone sandwich mount, custom silicone pad foot. All built to house a beautiful silkscreened PROTOZOA x MVKB PCB, peeking t
Well maybe I should give some tactile feedback then.
I like the activation force and push depth of my blackwidow, but I don’t like the sound of the click. That’s why I was thinking the linear opticals would be nice
I don’t care about per key lighting, I don’t ever use that setting anyway
oh ok
Just spectrum cycle and solid colors
well this pcb has no lightning for the keys
the other 2 tkl boards in gb mode are all like 500+ boards without the switches and keycaps
Yeah for that I’ll just go CNC my own at the shop
oh wait, you mind ordering the pcb yourself?
As long as I can order all the parts, I don’t care if they’re from different places
like taking the file and then send it to a pcb fab to manufacture it
I’ll even 3D print or CNC if I have to
I suppose I could, all my connections are on the machining side though
otherwise, you could wait for the next drop of geonworks frog tkl
problem is that shipping from the only vendor in korea might take a while
Interesting.
If I’m going to build something I’ll probably just go ahead and buy the huntsman and build something later
Then I would be okay with a smaller board like a 60% and that opens up my options a lot
And I wouldn’t have to have the backlighting
So do you have any recommendations besides keychron for 75%/xd84?
do you need the feature of the huntsman?
like analog input and customizable actuation point?
The analog input is something I’m looking forward to, so I possibly don’t have to use a controller ALL the time for car games
Like GTA and stuff where the driving is secondary
yea but one note, you cant have mouse input for shooting while driving with analog input tho.
From what I saw analog input aren't that precise, the travel is way too short to be relevant apparently
https://www.amazon.com/Varmilo-VA87M-Mechanical-Keyboard-Cherry/dp/B07G3J3872
otherwise this is what i would recommend
thats not leopold, but its quite fine
ahh ise
Oh really? That’s interesting
yea, since on pc, analog inputs are only accepted by games while you set your controller scheme to gamepad
Aren't there Varmilo with Varmilo switches out?
And why not an Akko keeb instead
im looking at amazon listings at the time and i forgot about akko keyboards
Did not know. Interesting
Something with the newer Gateron Pink or Oranges
https://www.amazon.com/Akko-Programmable-Mechanical-Keyboard-Rollover/dp/B08NVTHSKJ/ref=sr_1_7
like this
or this
HyperX Origin?
usually rgb leds in keyboards comes with addressable per key customization
If I’m picking a switch, I want something with a heavy activation, and little to no click
What is best for that
oh that's a bit hard
Heavy switches are hard to come by
I'm very sure there are 0 keyboards that come with switches over 50g
Doesn’t matter. Probably not
this is interesting
there are multiple switch options
My current switches are 50 gram
Oh those Ducky + Varmilo keebs
only red available for that particular model tho
Tactile. Probably not tactile but I don’t care much as long as the click itself isn’t crazy loud
What form factor again @gilded topaz
Full size with a 10key
so like 100%
Or close to it
1800
I'd just go GMMK barebones @gilded topaz
and go get a pack of Kailh Box Blacks
or like Gateron Blacks
fc980c too if you wanna try something new
akko do have some 1800 options but they dont have even basic backlighting?
Yeah this 1800 layout would work for me
I kinda like having space between the keyboard and numpad but I can live without
ooh interesting
theres the tm980 too
on aliexpress
actually, i lied, there are a bunch of prebuilts with lightning
Cheap doesn’t matter
I don’t want less than 50 grams for sure
They even feel light to me
I would I don’t care
Speed silvers with 100 gram springs

I mean, kilogram springs would be fine, but I feel like I’d break something
I have scary strong fingers lmao
I think I’m just gonna go ahead and buy the huntsman, and then build me a nice little 60% from scratch
Could buy both
I don’t see that model number
this one @gilded topaz
Smarter Shopping, Better Living! Aliexpress.com
there this thing as well
or there are a abundant of prebuilts from akko with the 1800 layout
they just come with different keycaps
some are higher priced due to licensing to media stuff, such as a one piece themed keyboard
Interesting. No white so I’d have to get pink
https://en.akkogear.com/product/9009-retro-3098b-mechanical-keyboard/
theres a white prebuilt option that has hotswap capabilities
@ionic briar Hi so, can you attach a wrist rest to ducky one 2 mini?
Lots of good options thanks guys
I still don’t know what switches I want though lol
nope
i would say beforehand that the radiant red will be too light for you
you might need to look into kailh box chinese switches
they have some okay weighting bois
ok
https://mechanicalkeyboards.com/shop/index.php?l=product_detail&p=6332
heres the ancient gray, 90g actuation 100 bottom out
I do know I like the razer red opticals
huh
then you should give the stock radiant red a try
or try out the lavender purple tactile switches
the purple will be lighter than the red
@gilded topaz thats all for me
i would also mention another interesting keyboards with contactless switches
the wooting two he and the wooting he 60
uses hall effect switches
and are dangerously smooth
