What is a good fps gaming keyboard
anything that feels good to your hands
is k28 better then k550
bigger number, better product
yes, because 2080 TI gets beaten by 3050 TI mobile
Hi was wondering if anyone knows any place in the UK where i can buy a custom printed key cap with an image on it. If not are there any places where you can select the exact colour and get some plain/ labelled key-caps with numbers and letters. The colour I wanted is somewhat like this
im not
how’s the drop alt aluminum case
is there a switch thats as good as them but not frankin
Jwick yellows get most of the way there
Nearly as smooth as tangies, nice and clacky.
Essentially they're alpacas, they come from the same factory, they're just using a different color way
ight
can someone dm me a wireless keyboard that whould look good with the white model o under $100 cad
prebuilt
Hey
can anyone help?
I want a cherry mx brown keyboard which has nkro
No flying fucks given about backlit/RGB etc
If its backlit, im happy
if its not, not a problem
I'd go with a filco over durgod if you don't care about anything but build quality
Can you link me ples
cherry mx brown(most important), full 104 keys(2nd most important) and nkro(third most important)
Yes good build quality is what i want too
Hehe, filco has been doing that combo of stuff for more than a decade
let me check out
Really the only thing I don't like about filcos is they don't come with PBT caps
okay ill probably buy a doubleshot pbt keycap set anyways
so keycaps are not an issue
lets say i want backlighting
Still using my majestouch from 2009, just had to replace the caps after a few years
even just plain white lighting is enough
Not my daily driver anymore but if nothing else they are built to last
what are my options
I have a TVS Gold bharat mechanical keyboard from the age when they used to use actual cherry mx switches
got it for like 20USD brand new
now some keys are not registering
Probably looking at a leopold or ducky if you want backlighting, filco doesn't really make that kind of board
im well versed with soldering and all that.. should i open it up and try to clean and see for any problems or should I just buy a new one
Super easy to troubleshoot a keyboard if you know how to solder
May just need to resolder a cracked solder joint or two
I also have a cooler master masterkeys pro L which i got on a sale, which my dad is using right now and he likes it very much.. because its cherry mx brown and he likes that they are full 104 keys and they are quiet and tactile at the same time
This TVS gold doesnt have nkro because its USB 2
that has been a big problem for me when it comes to games i play
nkro can be done over usb these days
how
There are two modes, most early usb keyboards only implemented the boot mode which was limited to 6 keys + mods
newer boards implement both
technically the other mode is limited to 248 keys, usually not an issue for normal boards
yeah yeah.. my actual question is, can i make my 20usd mechanical keyboard which doesnt use any such tricks to run in nkro mode with any software trickery?
if i can, how
Unlikely unless your really good at jtag rigging and can write new firmware for its microcontroller
okay basically i play war thunder where i fly ww2 era planes
sounds like your in the market for a new board
and i will need to hold down C for free look, and then pitch up using S and roll left or right using A or D, sometimes yawing with Q or E
my TVS keyboard cant take it
I think ill open this up, give it a cleanup and buy a new keyboard too
So yeah i will look forward for the filco majestouch
Thanks for help
Im okay with custom keyboard assembly also
Definitely about as non-gamer as you can get in a keyboard, but its still a bit of a classic
Problem is getting components shipped to india
not many fullsize customs out there with amazing build quality
you can always get a numpad
40-75% boards are the bread and butter of the customs market, really the only customs I'll even touch are the 75s
searched so much just to find out pussied out 60% keyboards
Anything less than 104 keys IMO is dumb
I get why a lot of people don't like 60%s, but 75% is quite acceptable IMO
and the ones like corsair k75 etc cost a fortune
Not with me
60% is trash for coding
and tend to have worse build quality than stuff like leopold and other old school OEM brands by a large margin
agreed, too many layers required to actually get to everything, and really just can't get everything you need in any one layer
The numpad is bread and butter for manual engine controls for me in war thunder
i have a ducky one 2 mini and i hate my life
also cherry mx blue is the worst decision in my life
probably up there anyways
they are just loud
My most recent purchase was the GMMK Pro with Gat Clears. The gat clears and terrible stabs from the pro are rotting in my spare parts box now.
i did the foam mod lubed stabs everything still loud
you bought clicky switches, you got clicky switches. Nothing is going to make those quiet other than replacement
go with a silent red or silent brown if you actually want something quiet
Wouldn't say no reason, but they are definetly more expensive
there is a reason but i dont see the point spending that much on one
the GMMK Pro is nice if you want something a bit more "off the shelf" than a group buy custom
what do you think of vortex ?
They make decent PBT caps.... and other stuff
uk layout?
yah unless its via or qmk
could always grab a gmmk tkl barebones and use your switch of choice, pretty sure they ship to UK and offer ISO
import tax or somesuch?
everything at once
looks like the barebones gmmk tkl is only 70 on overclockers.co.uk
IIRC the pro is the only one that uses type C
yeah
i want something like this but this doesnt have RGB or white LEDs
no uk layout
im just looking for something that will work
i wanted a custom keeb but it wont arrive in time so i need a new keeb asap
The micro USB is not a concern tho
Unless you plug and unplug it about 10 times every day ... then get something wireless
i do it often
daily at least 3 times
Unless you are quite brutal
i mean my usb c is basically destroyed
Yeah ... not really delicate
You could always get a magnetic cable and leave the connector side thing in there
Well I'm not sure it would work
the UK has 0 of them
my volta cable is on the way
If it works you could just get one with micro usb ... and tell us if it works fine
it probably will but idk i just want something modern
The gmmk is modern
i mean sure i can do keycaps and stuff how i like it but idk
They used that connector mostly for cost saving
Also i wonder if I could get one cable and use a micro usb for the gmmk and usb c for the snow snowfox and the fusion without swapping the main cable
I guess type C and micro usb are not wired the same and it wouldn't work anyway
they arent
im thinking something of the shelf because switches will give me a headache
i wont be able to build a keeb since im moving houses and the eta for all of this like 2 months
and i need a keeb bad
would this be a good option >
?
Sad thing with durgod is that they only have cherry as far as I know
im fine with that
Lucky you can be fine with that
I have the durgod fusion and it's a wonderful board except for the switches ...
whats wrong with cherry bruh
people used to be hating in cherry clones now they hate on cherry
legit
I guess people want more variety
put hot glue in a 25$ keyboard watch it to have your mind literally blown, this is not irony, this is not a meme, this is genuinely incredible https://youtu.be/9p_uxy2sLsc
i am singlehandedly shutting down expensive mechanical keyboard manufacturers with a 25$ keyboard and hot glue
MORE DETAILED VIDEO HERE LOOK LOOK ITS HERE
Sounds ok but hot glue tf
Not hating on cherry, I just don't like them ... they don't have any appealing switches for me and I can find way better for a lower price elsewhere ...
And that suck that companies that offers good prebuilt only offers those
Hey so looking for a keyboard between £10 to £45 pounds and suggests
Cherry switches sounds nice if you have a good case
yeah newer cherry switches lubed is pretty good
is this a good option at this price range ?
look at epomaker
what would you guys suggest getting if i want a budget 65% mechanical keyboard with nice thock sounds
at least under 130 usd
epomaker or duragod keebs
varmilo or leopold
alright ty
ok ty
Can anyone recommend a good keyboard wrist rest?
The heights are (front) 30mm and (rear) 40mm
look at glorious
Could i repaint a pbt keycap set to make it more custom or will it end up bad?
most likely end bad it will rub off
and it will just make it ugly
how hard would it be to make a resin spacebar
Honestly
Just get whatever's available and what you think is most comfortable.
As long as both have similar keycap layouts and shapes, it should be fine.
So which HyperX keys are you talking about?
What TKL Keyboaed would you guys recommend? I'm looking probably for linear switches, preferably hot swappable so I can change out or customize later if/as needed
I've looked at a bunch, 2 in particular atm are the ducky one, and Durgod
these arent hotswappable
ducky quality is ok idk about duragod trying to buy one too
if you live in the US i heard Leopold is good
Durgod quality is quite good ... bit better than ducky ... but still not hot swappable and only comes with cherry
If you want hot swappable check the gmmk or keychron
Ah good to know
How are the gmmk boards? I've heard mixed reviews on some of their other products
Also I did find someone near me selling a Razer Blackwidow v3 tkl green switch for $30 just because of the double input issue that was fixed with firmware update. Not sure if it just be worth getting that possibly
I would like to try out linear though, plus from what I've seen of synapse not the biggest fan
Green switches are just worse blues
Pretty inconsistently made
I have had great experience with gmmk mice
Never used a gmmk keyboard
Good to know
@gloomy maple looking for a plain dark keyboard or with RGB ?
I'm looking at white frames if possible actually. Either that or dark frame but getting light colored keycaps
RGB is nice, I just mainly set it to a white light blue color. If it doesn't have rgb at least back lighting is nice to have
How is the Logitech G Pro X keyboard
@gloomy maple if you go with Logitech, be sure to buy the MX switch version. There are no mods possibility for aftermarket caps and switches.
does anyone know a good cheap mechanical keyboard for typing since i want to be able to type quickly
Good to know
I have the gmmk and it's a solig board ... I recommend to replace the stock stabs for durock and that's about it
any membrane board will do ... almost any mechanical board will also do ... it's a matter of preference
there's no switches that are better at something and less for something else ... you can type on anything, you can game on anything ... it's always preference
membrane keyboard
like model M
it's a membrane keyboard ...
besides the model M we had when I was really young ... the best typing keyboard I had was a rubber dome compac keyboard ...
like that one ...
not good by any means but wow did I typed fast on that one
Topre isn't even Membrane
there's no membrane in Topre, just rubber domes, coils, and pcb
I wish I could try some topre some day ... pretty sure I won't like them much but you never know ...
Stock topre is underwhelming unless you get 55g
yeah I like heavy-ish switches ...
and tactiles ... so I guess heavy topre would be something I might like at some point ...
preference lol, i liked stock and loved 30g. 55g too tactile for me
i've heard the normal GMMK is pretty meh, but i have a GMMK Pro and it's a pretty great value for what it is
and personally as someone very new to keyboards, it being cheaper and hotswappable really does lower the barrier of entry to people like me
normal gmmk is quite nice ... I don't have the pro to compare to it tho so I can't say ...
I would say that it's so far the best keyboard I had ...
next one to get will most likely be the keychron Q1
I would want the Drop Ctrl, but for $200....., kinda a lot right now
I guess it'd be $180 with a discount code
I heard that the drop keyboard are way overpriced for the quality they have
I can second the GMMK Pro. While the Q1 is set to replace it, it's still a great entrypoint. With the PE foam mod and Durock V2 stabs it sounds incredible.
But I'd wait to see what the Q1 turns into.
It's been years and they still elect to use north-facing LEDs ugh
I don't care about north facing led
Fair enough
Does anybody know what keyboard linus uses in his videos
depends on what video
there's aftermarket domes that offer a lot of different weights, including heavier ones
arent those romer g
should be g413
he uses browns at home tho I think he mentioned it in one of his vid
pretool browns
That Linus face tho lol
Guys, quick question
A.- HyperX Alloy Origins Core
B.- Logitech G Pro
C.- Razer Huntsman (Mini/TE)
a
Razer Huntsman tournament edition
I would never buy a non full size keyboard but
for $200 the CTRL is mediocre
if I could pick my first custom again and I was doing it now I'd probably take the GMMK Pro over it
that being said, its aesthetics are okay and sounds pretty decent
U would probably like cherry mx nature whites then
Hey guys does anyone know if anyone makes pudding caps will silver tops?
wdym silver top?
so these have a white top but I was wondering if any had a silver top
like this kind of silver
most likely not
yeah didn't think so
I'm planning to take the insides out of the new wooting 60% and put it in a nice red case with silver caps but I was wondering if I could get pudding silver caps
probably will just use regular silver caps like the 2nd photo there
should be nice but if I can get my hands on one I won't get it till next april lol
pretty sure I won't since it's a linear with just 55g spring ... for that I already have gateron yellow and I find them too light for me ... but they are smooth tho
@unkempt dome just order a kit of 62 or 67g springs and replace the 55g in your yellows.
still won't make me like linear more tho
maybe with a heavier spring ... I guess
will try it in the future
any brand recommendation for the spring ?
Just did it for my Gateron reds
also any place I could get them in canada without paying 3x the price of the srping in shipping ?
I ordered mine from Amazon.ca
$19.93 for 110 springs
so stock yellow are about 50g and bottom out at 62g ... honestly it never felt like they were that heavy ... I'll probably go for the 67g spring since they bottom out at 78g ...
thanx a lot for the link
@unkempt dome they also have 80g or 150g for the same price
yes ... but I'm pretty sure 150 will be way too heavy for me ...
I was not sure about the 80g ...
@unkempt dome probably
will start with the 67g and see if it's heavy enough
@unkempt dome I did a blind test with my son. I had him try one red with oem 45g and one with 60g and he noticed and pointed out the 60g without hesitation.
i did a test and compared akko ocean blue and akko lavender purple ... both are about the same but the ocean blue have progressive spring ... which makes them feel a bit weird to me ...
and also a bit scratchy
spring does definitely make a difference
@unkempt dome without a lube job, most switches are a bit scratchy
stock yellow are fine for me
same for stock almost anything in fact ...
I have some halo true that have been lubed by the previous owner ... it's a nice feeling but I think that the lube was too thick on them
@unkempt dome that's why everyone says switches feeling is personal and subjective.
yes totally
can anyone suggest mechanical keyboard with dedicated buttons like play/pause sound up/down and macros?
whats quieter brown or red keyboard switch?
it's about the same
those are not clicky switches so they don't have click mechanism to make noise ...
but they are not silent
they will still make noise when typing
hey, I'm asking on behalf of my buddy (Neither of us are very knowledgeable about boards). Essentially she believes that the stabilizers have broken on he MX blue Strafes. Asked a friend of mine and they said more than likely that would need soldering. Is that the case? She said shes 90% sure its the stabilizers since she said the keys were rattling (in her words). So if anyone could let me know what I should advise her, please let me know. thanks!
yes to fix it on that keyboad as far as I know you need to desolder the switch, remove it, remove the stab to change it or repair it and then solder the switch back on
Okay, thanks for the confirmation!
60% no arrow or 100%
White
Clicky switches
No rgb ( its disgusting)
Budget:£80
Any keyboard reccomendations
So guys, is HyperX Alloy Origins Core better than Razer Huntsman right?
Imo yea .
Better build quality, switches will most likely be fine to many hands.
Like it's not the hyper short actuation point super light switch that if you dont used to it already will make typing a nightmare.
custom keyboards ftw
I'm from Argentina, a custom keycaps set is $200 no cap
Oh that’s normal lmao
Gmk not pog
But you can get less expensive keycaps
Pudding are $80
Hi guys, I'll ask for your knowledge !
Which brands would you recommend for great laptop's keyboard ? Whatever price, just a handful super easy typing keyboard !
what price
Whatever price for the laptop
oop didnt read the whole thing sry im dumb
ahah, np !
so you need an external keyboard for ur laptop right?
Noo, am wondering which laptop brand should I buy
I don't care much performance or price, since I will only use it for coding
Ok
If u need one for coding id guess like aN LG gram 17 or an HP spectre x360
Wait no nevermind about the lg gram
Can find better wait
dude tf i find so good ones but with shit cpu that is essential for coding
Will touch screen be sucking battery off ? Defintly not needed
dont think so
ahahah, happy seing am not the only one thinking it
This one sounds ok but keyboard looks like a shitty piece of plastic https://support.hp.com/fr-fr/document/c07066420
Have no idea what it's value
Vous recherchez des informations concernant la mise à niveau ou la mise à jour ? Vous essayez de trouver les noms de composants matériels ou de programmes logiciels ? Ce document contient les informations techniques spécifiques à cet ordinateur portable.
ofc !
this one looks decent
this one isnt bad as well
tell me what u think @dusky hamlet
i think this is better then the 1st one
1tb of NVMe its like really super good
Sounds decent, but never heard of samsung's laptops before
What's it worth ?
same
if i was u
i'd choose the second one
Could be found for 80$ if you wait for sale
i think its good though
better than the toshiba 10 year old harddisk i own
lol
also the second one has better cpu as well
Ryzen 5 5500U not the best ever in the world but it will work for coding
6 cores 2.1 ghz
idk im just trying to find whats the best for u xD
Do agree
Still have no idea about the keyboard
I'll gess I'll have to find out myself on site
Thanks mate for help, do appreciate !!
keyboard on the second one looks pretty solid
Ideapad sounds solid choice
Not the first time heard of
Yes, should be
In Argentina, if you order a foreign product and it exceeds $ 50, you must pay 50% of the price of the product in taxes, if I buy something for $ 1000, I pay $ 1500

WELP
anyone here a coder that uses a HHKB ?
Why
i want to know what the experience is like and is it worth getting for the design
The layout is good
I don't code alot myself
But the lack of fkeys and arrowkeys made me sell it
And buy a 87u instead
oh well then i got a durgod k320 im guessing that will be better for my use case
You can always buy a cheap one off yahoo auctions and flip it on mm if you don't like it
i live in the UK so that wont happen
the cheapest one i have found was like 130 gbp idk like 200 usd or something
Does anyone have a rgb profile for the HyperX alloy origins core
Hey y'all, I'm planning to get a Logitech G Pro X keyboard and it's coming with GX Blue Clicky switches. I wanted to know if they're nice or should I replace the switches for something better.
Are you from the us?
Nope
Where are you from then?
@chrome raft any ideas on fuhlen mouse?
lubing my keyboard is so good
Here u buy smth for 5$ u have to pay 500$ for shipping
Is the corsair k65 mini any good?
@quartz dew corsair keyboards are horrible for gaming but if ur multitasking then sure
any of you guys into custom keyboards?
Fr?
i owned a k55 its just ass
i reccomend logitech keyboards
im buying G pro keyboard
my favourite prebuilt keyboard brand is leopold
but there's no rgb
they still use cherry switches though
Yes
A lot of customs have rgb
Kbdfans has some good board
Dangkeebs stocks them too
Although I use 40% boards
do i care
let me make this clear for you
ill buy
what i like
but i apreciate ur help and honestly
honesty
I s this a decent kb? It's the one I have and I got a deal for 30$ so I bought it lol
Yeah I'm noticing a but of key chattering
No
Just as and kl
Why
Those keycaps LOL
Ah
It was used
So
Maybe it was from a league of legends player or some shit
Yeah
I already did that when I got it
Soldered I think
Wait no idk
It has a plate
So
I can't atm I'm on a drive
I don't think it's hot swap
Would be surprised if it was hoswtappable ...
Surprise me ... for the sake of the new owner !!!
need help what is the best budget 60%
There's no best
or good
reds or yellow i have blue rn and i am starting to hate them hotswap yes wireless no color dosnt really matter
or blacks will do also
Kemove snowfox of shadow are nice boards
Gmmk in 60%
Gk61
Rk61 I've heard is good
Be careful not to get the version with optical switches tho ... you can't swap in mechanical switches in there I've heard
ya i know thank you tho and thank you for help
No problem... maybe others will have more suggestions
ok
i mean
its not thaaat good
but its aight
its a full plastic keyboard 😦
It is not a problem with plastic, but for the price of the G Pro they could put an aluminum case on it
it's the only thing that makes me not want to buy the G Pro
Oh, and the blue switches
Heh
Anyways, do u recommend it? heh
because i cant find huntsman mini or alloy origins core on my city
K55 isn't even a mech lol
no shit it's bad. It's membrane.
Problem is with most boards, people just wanna tell you "get X Y or Z" even if A or B are what actually meets your requirements because "X Y or Z are "better""
Personally I've got a couple Corsair boards. I'm not familiar with that particular one but I can tell you that I don't like the switch options on the Corsair boards so I ended up replacing the switches. Part of the reason I did this though is a Corsair board fit what I wanted far more than just about anything else. Also at the time it was the only board with MX RGB keys. Now there are tons more options, cherry or otherwise that support SMD RGB. It's also all in iCue which I liked vs the alternatives. Along with dedicated macro keys and being able to remap keys whenever.
IMO, anything past a $10 membrane or ~$40 mechanical board you're looking for specific features or requirements which make the choice very personal. Switches are all super subjective and highly depend on what you like.
Thought that was just for Topre so their users don't pop a vein being called membrane kb users lol
Topre is electrostatic capacitive and not membrane.
As the spring is not contacting membrane matrix sheets.
Maybe but calling it that doesn't remove the rubber dome in the switch
this is your periodic reminder that technically IBM Model Ms are not mechanical because the switches all connect to a membrane
Yea, but it doesn't come with the quirks of rubber domes, being mushy when bottom out.
But it's a different wormhole, whether or not we should categorize topre as mechanical or semi mechanical.
Membrane keyboard denotes that the actuation is achieved by shorting the membrane matrix.
Topre is not using membrane to register an actuation, so to categorize em as membrane is technically wrong.
hello, i'm a blue switch user :D
hmm. anybody know any 100% keeb cases?
cheers for that man
get lucky and have a group buy happen or get lucky and buy one from a flipper on mm
pepehands
Same. Heavy AF Linears for me. I'm using Ancient Greys. 95g actuation force
durock T1s here
Linear Larrys
Buy 100% keyboard and sacrifice it
its a mouse so yes
i use the model o
its one of the best mice i touched
Closest thing to that rn is a 95% kbdfans Odin, GB running rn
L+F Alpaca V2's here
With something I call "almost a creampaca" on the stabilized keys
So a creampaca with a cream top
Because they changed cream stems
And now they don't fit anywhere
And Alpaca V2 tops are tighter as well
Finally gotten my Varmilo VA87M Sea Melody I can actually say I freaking love it
new build
grid650 w durock v2 stabs and holy bobas lubed with 205g0 on stem only
random bow set i found in my drawer
total build around 600 without keycaps
💯
Should I go with Logitech MX keys? or with a mechanical keyboard?
Main issue with me is cleaning.
Go with RGB
i can't really comment on that 'cause i've never heard about it; wait for someone who does know about it
Cooler Master SK650?
I just got one too lol
I love it
Nvm, looks like you got the TKL version. The SK630 if I’m not mistaken? Either way, it’s basically the same board. I hope you enjoy it!
yess the sk630, i still make a lot of typos since im not used to linear switches but it's nice, especially the rgb
thank u and enjoy urs too!
Kailh pro reds and burgundy prolly would work in that case
Jwick yellows are basically alpacas as well
thanksss
Yeah, but I already had the Alpacas
Dips
What TKL gaming keyboards do you guys recommend?
i just got my coolermaster sk630 today and its pretty good, can definitely recommend that (scroll up for more), but i saw some people say its a bit unergonomic and the keys arent that easy to differentiate when typing (since theyre flat) . but i like it and regret i didnt buy it sooner
keep in mind that it has low profile switches, but that might even be an advantage in gaming. i just prefer low profile since im used to magic keyboards
if im not a huge fan of gmmk boards, what else should i look at
gonna be used for a mix of work, school, and gaming
preferably has controlled rgb on it too
Keychron
What are some good replacement switches for a Logitech G Pro X? Gonna use it partially for playing games and writing code. Also, wanted to know if there are pre-lubed switches that I can get
1st question: depending on your preference
2nd: yes, for example, holy pandas, gateron cap series and to an extent hyperglide cherry mx and durock switches
I would like some amount of clickity clackity
But not too much
Currently I've GX Clicky Blues
so not like this? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3G5EG6XvWFs
Keyboard: TADA68
Switches: Kailh Box Jade (lubed clickbar) (alphabetics), Box Red (modifiers), Box Black(spacebar)
Stabilizers: Plate-mount Cherry stabilizers
Keycap: Dye-sub PBT Cherry Profile
That's a bit loud

so does this?
Who likes clicky switches?

Nah, this is a bit too loud again compared to the other one I feel
The click should be pronounced compared to the thud in the end
thats prob due to the stabs on the board tbh

or you could rewind the chryosran22 vid up the point where he disassemble the switch and demonstrate how the click mechanism work
Okay yeah
That sounded perfect
That's the exact sound I'm looking for
the g pro x itself might alter the way the switches sound btw.
wait, g pro x is hotswappable?
yea, just saw its hotswap socket
I'm not confident in my own abilities to mod an existing switches
So if I wanted to make mine sound like this box whites
And have good feedback
or buy box white and replace em in
yea box white
box clicky is the best modern clicky imo
Also I saw these stabilizers, lubes and what not
outemu phoneix is for you if you want something more resemble mx blue in construction
Should I pay attention to those things also.?
eh, you can lube the current stab yourself, wire balancing and what not
prelubed stab tends to be done quite hastly with a big glob of lube in one place where it doesnt help anything.
nope
you just need a flathead to release the tab for platemount stab, and a philips screwdriver for pcb mounted one
with your board being the pro x, i would bet that it has plate mount stabs
also, where are you from?
I'm from India
The only place I know where I can find stuff is from
https://www.meckeys.com/
https://rectangles.store/collections/switches
this is also a india store, but they dont stock kailh box
and china shopping site is not a thing in india iirc.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q0KNMPo9F_A @hushed sinew
what about this kind of sound?
I heard great things about the Boba U4Ts so I had to try them out myself.
These are really great, moderately priced switches that perform better than many more expensive options! The build quality is great and the tolerances are tight, meaning they sound and feel great out of the box. For a more refined experience, lightly lubing the rails and ...
again, im not guaranteed that you will achieve the exact same sound profile with your board.
that will require you to open the switch and lubing as well tho.
Can't I just get it like that?
pre lubed?
that will require buying it from boutique vendors who offers lubing service
cost will increase due to labor
What's the cost usually?
those switches doesnt come pre lubed
prob 0.2 usd more per switch
Free Shipping to Singapore. Worldwide shipping available, or visit us in-store today! Kailh Box switches have their signature box around a cross-shaped MX style stem which protects the switch from dust and moisture - giving it an IP56 resistance rating. Each Box switch has the same travel and actuation distances: 1.8mm for actuation and 3.6mm in...
So these are the ones right?
yep
thats from singapore, so you might have to pay for shipping and import tax.
Yeah, I figured
just gotta pay extra shipping and customs
The one thing I'm disappointed is about the non standard bottom row
Also, what's the best switch I can get for the spacebar? I just want the spacebar not to rattle hard
thats to do with the stabs more than the switch
the metal bar banging around is the culprit for the rattle
wire balancing and lubing will resolve it
dielectric grease
commonly found in your local automotive shop or amazon
other options including krytox 205g0 and krytox xht-bdz
yea that works too i reckon.
Got it, thanks for the help!
could use some lube
their blood is good for that
Can someone make me a decent cheap 60% keyboard 😩
We can find you parts but you can make it yourself unless you don’t mind paying extra for labor
Depends on what you want. It's OK build, switches are cherry but it does have a nonstandard row. That said I'm using one right now but I've modded the stabilizers to be quieter and replaced all the switches with Box Burnt Orange. I personally like iCue but I'm probably not running the latest version. I think I'm still on some Version 3 update
The keycaps are ABS too and can break or crack fairly easily
who the hell told you that
they aren’t even the same material
????
tbh, i dont really wanna mod it but, its non standard, and the keycaps are abs, thats a red flag right?
There are fairly cheap keysets ($20 or $25 on Aliexpress) but it can be an issue. Corsair has switched to PBT on some boards at least.
I can't choose between
• CORSAIR K70 LUX RGB ($ 50)
• HYPERX ALLOY ORIGINS CORE ($ 80)
• RAZER HUNTSMAN MINI ($ 100)
In my situation, which one would you choose? I seriously thought about the HyperX but NGenuity is still rubbish
@potent void how mich would a decent 60% keyboard be
Or maybe an 80% keyboard
If i build it myseld
Those are all very different boards lol. The K70 has dedicated media keys which is nice if you use them. Personally I like iCue. As for the Razer, I don't know much about optical switches let alone their version.
What type of switches are you looking at?
tactile, heh
ikr, ICUE is really really good, I could save for the K65 MINI too, but everyone says it's terrible
i would go with the hyperx one if i have to choose
and icue to me is like another rgb program
hit or miss
Hmm.... I don't see much wrong with the K65 MINI besides the fact it's a bit expensive compared to others, the limited switch options (feels like corsair seems stuck with MX speed or red vs anything else) and maybe the fact you probably have to use the newest version of iCue which supposedly has issues.
Quick question
can i make animations on synapse?
i mean
its possible in icue heh
Post keyboards
Wheres a good place to test different switches in Canada?
Or should I buy something like this
i did buy that exact one to start; it does give you a decent idea of what different switch types and actuation forces feel like
but it only contains cherry MX switches, which is just a tiny slice of all the kinds of keyboard switches on the market
notably though, you can often go onto aliexpress and buy switches for like a buck each to test
has anyone tried the glorious lynxes yet?
Just know that those switches are only good for gauging feel. Not sound.
There are no good places to test switches, though.
Just get a tester, as you mentioned.
except for meetups but those are pretty rare
Hi, do you know if Drop, Grovemade and Deltahub ship to France ? If yes, are there taxes ?
so I was thinking about getting the g915 tkl
but I don't know which switches to get
and I have no way of testing
I am currently using razer green
is there anything similar?
or quieter...
If you want to get quieter switches then i would choose a linear one
Linear are not quiet unless it's specified that they are silent switches
Same for tactile
They are more quiet then clicky
Clicky are made to make noise
Obviously linear will make less noise
They are not silent cause of that
Just less noisy
Can anyone find me a descend keycap set for the german layout in 75%
I've looked everywere and can't find anything
Would you recommend gateron red, blacks or browns? I’ve just been wondering but i’m not sure which one to choose
I went with tactile@unkempt dome @rose drift
I had razer green (the blue cherrys I think) but they were too loud
also I got a 15% discount
where do i ask about mouse?
this is pretty much exactly what Im looking for, maybe even with brown switches. I was looking at the keychron k8 but literally every video review I look up mentions tearing it down to add sound dampening foam
but that was also with the aluminum version, maybe the plastic version doesn't have as bad of a sound issue
So, today is the day guys, i'm trying to decide between the HyperX Alloy Origins Core and the Razer Huntsman Mini
yeah Im too scared Ill run into a bad program that needs the insert key or smth and doesn't have a way to easily rebind it
yeah
i would choose the hyperx out of the 2
due to how ridiculously light the huntsman optical switches are.
it is smooth, but its too light and the actuation point is too shallow for most ppl unless you have already had previous experience with light switches
wouldn't purple switches solve that problem?
same actuation point as the linear option
and same weighting
the tactile event might prevent that, but unless you have tried switches with the same tactile event and weighting, its prob gonna be too light for you fingers.
and assuming I don't have that problem, is it a good option?
ehhhhh.
i would say meh since there are stuff like the kemove snowfox that has hotswap socket, compatible with almost all cherry mx style switches,. which is a bonus feature over the razer
https://www.amazon.co.uk/Mechanical-Keyboard-Swappable-Partitioned-Backlit/dp/B08JTFN419
rgb in your face, take it or leave
is the RGB on the hyperx alloy origins pretty configurable? I don't like the keyboards that only have 3 or 4 non-configurable patterns to choose from
i mean
- ICUE
- Synapse
- G Hub
- Ngenuity
In terms of RGB
i would vouch for openrgb
in synapse you can make animations, one of the reasons why I can't decide heh
okay well let me clarify, Im not an RGB fiend, I just don't like the keyboards that are "RGB" and then either only have the rainbow, a pre-defined color, or off
none of the rest of my setup is RBG so I dont want this rainbow blasting at the brightness of the sun from my desk 24/7 lol
it's stupid to choose a keyboard based on its rgb or software, but a lot of people do it, including me
oh
well
actually
check this out
why didn’t i think of this
and the k87 is hot swap
wait thats the lowest brightness for the hyperx?
yeah lmao
that’s not even bright

I'M SORRY
no worries lmao
Hi, does anyone have any recommendations for a cheap TKL hotswappable keyboard?
define cheap
and where are you from?
Redragon Kumara
50€ -60€, Slovenia
https://www.banggood.com/GamaKay-K66-Mechanical-Keyboard-66-Keys-Gateron-Switch-Hot-Swappable-Tyce-C-Wired-RGB-Backlit-Gaming-Keyboard-with-Crystalline-Base-for-PC-Laptop-p-1799872.html?cur_warehouse=CZ&ID=515631&rmmds=search
this one ships from the czech republic, so it should be delivered pretty fast
I've already considered the Glorious TKL (hard to get PCB only in Europe) and the Smart Duck xs87 on aliexpress cuz it was cheap
wait, you only need the pcb?
https://www.aliexpress.com/item/33028638867.html?spm=a2g0o.store_pc_groupList.8148356.8.6b7857benGXyYc
i prefer this kit cause you can use pcb mount stab instead, which in general has better quality than plate mount ones.
Smarter Shopping, Better Living! Aliexpress.com
Thanks, will take a look at it
Im looking at it and the logitech g pro x is $99 on amazon and the keychron q1 is $170
the 99 one its the pro non x
check this keyborad
its good
yea, its fine for its price
ye
at least you can try out gazzew's outemu switches, which are pretty good
i use razer black widow ultimate 2013
super good
looking at the keychron k8 and I really can't decide if I should go with the aluminum frame + RGB for the extra $20
dont really care a bunch about the RGB which is why I can't decide
you just cant get the aluminum frame without RGB
alu frame is 4 alu accents piece slide into the rails present on the plastic case btw
it doesnt contribute much to case rigidity, but it completes the look of the board.
oh interesting
trying to find a side-by-side view of the two so I can see what you're talking about but it's hard to find
Keychron K6 : https://amzn.to/382xzdJ
Today we unbox, review, and mod a solid budget mechanical keyboard - the Keychron K6. Not bad at all, with hotswap switches, RGB backlighting, and bluetooth wireless capabilities.
Info on lubing / switch films :
heres a disassemble of the k6
basically almost all alu frame from keychron works like that
and yea, it does make the board looks complete
the stock plastic sides looks really weird due to how thin it is.
- Im sure my wife would like to paint the aluminum to match everything else
yeah sweet I think Im going with the k8 w/ aluminum frame and the gateron brown switches
well actually I need to look more into the keychron optical vs gateron but definitely brown
https://www.keychron.com/pages/disassemble-process-for-k8
yep. tho the k8 frame is secure by screws instead of sliding rails but the principle is the same.
- Remove the screws from the frame (skip this if you have a plastic frame version keyboard). 2. Pull off the keycaps and remove the screws on the PCB as shown in following image. 3. Take out the side frames. 4. Then you will be able to take out the PCB. (Note: Please be careful of the toggles on the side when you dis
can anyone give me a quick tldr of keychron optical vs gateron? also from the keychron website, assuming the hot-swappable gateron switches are optical as well?
Is it out already ?
is the durability of optical vs mechanical switches super important? obviously overall durability of the keyboard is important but I've never used a keyboard long enough that one of the keys stopped working due to over-use
although the longest stretch I've had a mechanical keyboard with heavy usage is ~2.5 years
nope.
unless your switch has some of the worst quality control
50 million switch rated lifespan with about 50 thousands presses a month for example, will last you 83 years 4 month.
okay thank you for all the help
damn they are out of the gateron brown switches, will have to wait for them to restock
ive only had personal experience with blue but didn't like how loud they were
with brown you can still feel when it actuates even though theres no audible click right?
there's no click but they still make some noise
But there's no click mechanism like in the blue
the noise comes from when you bottom out right? or you mean it makes a noise when it actuates?
Bottom out, coming back up, spring ping, leaf ping etc
well wont that be with any switch tho? or really any keyboard in general
Not any switches
and I'm okay with some noise, just not the obnoxiously loud levels of the clicky cherry mx blues
Cherry blue are not that loud ... they probably are the quieter clicky I've tried
But I know how they still can be annoying
Nice sounding tactile that I tried are the akko lavender purple
best wireless for less than £200? everything pointing towards the logitec-G915. but thought I would check here too.
lavender purple? geez there are WAY too many switches
^ I complete agree
nice I cant wait for it to get here
Nice
And yet each is different and unique in one way or another
REALLY? dang, how do you even decide ? i just played it safe and got what i know but now i feel like ther'es a better option out there
does anyone know a NON DIY option for TKL (or really anything >60%) with Split Backspace?
That's a bit of an overstatement, if it's the same manufacturer the tactility would be the same since the molds are the same, JWK for example is the one switch manufacturer that has the most recoloured switches, but Tactile wise it's either a big bump, or a recent release of a lighter bump.
Any recolours are just that, recolours. With perhaps different spring weights and housing materials used
Well if the weight is different then the switch is different
That's why I said they are different in a way or the other
Also kailh box burnt orange really don't feel the same as kailh speed copper and they don't feel the same as kailh silent box brown ... tactility is different, weight is different, total travel is different, actuation point is different ... not because the manufacturer is the same makes their switches the same
You either ask around for advices and/or buy a hot swappable keyboard and try different type of switches
you just listed switches with different molds lmao, of course they're different
What about akko ocean blue and akko lavender purple ... still feel different from one another
And I know the kailh I mentioned have different mold ... but you said same manufacturer so ...
Does somebody know a good DIN 5 pole/AT keyboard? I'd need one, or atleast an AT to USB or PS/2 adapter.
Feel free to ping me when answering, it would be really nice 😄
i mean, budget....? layout??
vintage g80-1000s and their variants are great but they're often over $200 now. also lots of vintage g80-3000s
otherwise, AT to PS/2 adapters are cheap, both ways.
i use a PS/2 female to AT male to plug my PS/2 main keyboard into the AT passthrough port on my numpad
and an AT female to PS/2 male adapter to plug said numpad into the PS/2 port on my computer
If I buy a board and switches from the gmmk pro configurator at the same time will they come on the board?
@elfin pawn Sound demos
Before I swapped stabs and plate.
NW-700 with an EQ and noise suppression to get rid of the noise floor, positioned around four inches above the keyboard.
i mentioned same molds in the same sentence as manufacturer so the implication was that as long as its the same mold it would be the same.
Do you want every single statement to have dot points of caveats, and sub dot points of things that might be an exception? I didn't want to write an essay up there.
I haven't looked at the Akkos at all, if mold of stem and housing, and the leaf is identical between switches, it should be identical tactility.
All else is placebo
spec sheet wise, lavender purple is 5gf more heavier at bottom out than ocean blues
dunno if that effect the tactility event.
my bad, it has a 5gf more in the tactile event than the ocean blues smh.
could be the spring though, force graphs don't differentiate from tactillity weight and spring weight
anyone knows where i can buy cherry red rgb switches?,, i need to fix a keyboard, and amazon only has the 65 key set
oh shit the "folding case" on their kickstarter keyboard is BRILLIANT, why isn't that a thing for customer keybs yet dang
It's the PCB that holds the LEDs, not the switches.
what really?, so whats the difference between the 3 prong rgb switch and the regular one
never hecking mind,
aight im buyin the 10 pieces
Thanks
guess i need to buy new LEDs too, some idiot drenched the keyboard, ii claeaned it apparently it still works, but some keys are wonky and typing garbage, so idk if its the switch or the keyboard itself
Yeeesh that’s like a dollar a switch
or should i buy that and then "build" another keyboard and sell it for profit
How many do you need?
11
fuck
1
its a k70rgb i need to fix, but 2 switches dont work,1 flatout doesnt, and the other 1 spits garbage
Keychron sells them for $25 per 35
Still kind of a rip off I guess but it’s $20 at least
You don’t need many anyways
Well buckle my shoe
the led doesnt tho
lemme take a pic
so, some leds have fuzzy wrong color, and the W led doesnt work
the W was also faiiling, but seems to work now?,
i was told some spilled water over the keyboard... but it seems to be working just finie
fine.., my other keybaord is the one nnot fucking workinng
double pressing keys for no reasong argh
mf
Your got two broken keyboards now
yea, and the one im using is supposed to be new lmfao
a g613, was fine, but thiis last 2 weeks, it started repeating keystrokes, and driving me nuts
Can you return it?
it was a gift from a friend, so i have to ask himim
was amazong bought, so i believe so
The limits is like 30 days right?
oof, idk, if thats the case im fucked lol
Well two weeks is 14 days right? So you can still return it
Unless it was bought way before then
Yeah you’re f🦆ed
aight, the corsair keyboard gets fucked when i open icue
pressing W types this wwtiopquy[erteiopquw[yrertiopuy[qwiuyepqrtw[o
Are you serious
yes
Is there a macro set up to do that
That’s weird…
i dont think is the switch since it "works"
but, its very weird for it to be workinng until i open icue
i got the keyboard for free, friend told me i could keep it
Strafe RGB MK2
well took it apart, pressed a random button i found at the back of the pcb, and it seems to work now
ima reflow the solder points
That’s the keyboard I have and yes it is. The switches are super nice and I think you’ll be happy with it
The red switches I mean
Only available on red switches? :(
It has brown and blue switch versions but the red ones are my favorite
I have another cooler master keyboard with blues and I don’t like them as much
And how customizable is it? I just saw a video of the red gaterons, and they don't look bad (the only keyboard with red switches I tested, had outemus, and they felt padded)
BRO WHAT
you can make animations with the coolermaster software
🧐
hell naw, now i'm between huntsman tournament edition, blackwidow v3 tkl, hyperx alloy origins core, and coolermaster ck530 v2
now i need to find blue W A S D keys
Nothing placebo there they sound and feel different
Should I get Anne Pro II or Kemove Snowfox/Shadow? I've seen many different opinions on both. Not sure with ones to choose.
Snowfox
woke up this morning to find my caps lock has been turned on...(note: the laptop is fully docked and in this position the laptops original keyboard is physically inaccessible and disabled).
Ghost was trying to get some essays done it’s fine
it's a macbook...is there some bizzare shortcut for caps lock that i don't know about?
yo can anyone recommend a mouse/keyboard for linux with user macro buttons on them that is user friendly
any board that's qmk compatible will do that for you
On the mouse side, there's the G502.
Or the Swiftpoint Z, if you really need as many macros as possible on a mouse.
lat time i had a look Logitech did not have Linux software
What about Swiftpoint?
one of their cases on the kb from the k8ckstarter that shows up on that site, it has a flip cover like tablets
lol kickstarter links are banned?
That probs fall under self advert.
Ppl advert for their Kickstarter product, yk.
oooh ok
i think in this case the flip cover is attaced seperate from the actual case itself but i'd LOVE to see a caase with a built in flip cover esp with some low profile switches, the flip ccover can be used for angle as well as covering
sus
hmm wonder if ther's a good mouse that can run QMK that'd be awesome
ugh, it is SAD how rare split-bs is 😦
i can get a ncie custom 60% QMK keyb for like $100 ish, but split bs...$300+
Can you send a picture of it?

I need help, I need to find a keyboard that is 75% and has software where I can make the RGB audio sync
audio sync on a keyboard
Mechanical under $40 aud thats hotswappable
perferably TKL or smaller
these jixian blues and fake stablizeers are killing me
Any 75 percent keyboard recommendations preferably clicky switches I have a membrane razor keyboard atm so needed
budget?
Around 200 pounds
what about the keychron q1
It's pretty nice have u tried it yourself ?
its basically brand new so no but there are YouTube videos on it and friends of mine have tried the gmmk pro which is similar
I appreciate it just ordered ones with the blue keys watched a vid on it they sound really nice
oh wow that was fast. alright nice, hopefully you enjoy!
Well it's 100% gonna be better then a razor keyboard with membrane switches lmao
We’ll see. It sounds nice so far
q1 has quite the flex tho
but again, i dont understand the gasket from a typing experience point of view
Yea, I don't quite understand that.
But ig that's personal taste.
I like a solid feeling board.
are akko red roses better then normal gateron yellows
neither are better than others
they offer different things
akko is alot heavier than gateron yellow, but they kinda need lubes
Yea
Gat yellow is like your mx red without the pain for cherry picked while also has a higher sound pitch profile and wobbly quite a lot more.
Also, the force spec for rose red indicates that it's heavier than yellow?
For me it's walking the edge of just heavy enough that I don't set it off accidentally
Coming off rubber dome and scissor switch experience which requires you to bottom out the switch for actuation.
gat yellow is a pretty decent budget linear, can't really go wrong with that imo
The hall effect stuff from gat for wooting and steelseries tho.
Those fucker are smooth.
If only the chassis isn't so thin and hollow.
Chyrosran questioned why you would want a keyboard to bounce and that got me wondering the same
Now people realize
anything out there like this but tkl?
yeah but with a pcb like that
with the chip on it
oh my fucking god an ant crawled into my board again
whats so special about it ?
also are there different cases for it ?
yea kinda?
glitch is neon green and frost is ice white iirc
all clear cases
gb ended by this moment tho.
kinda annoying it looks super cooooooool
how do i convince my friend not to buy this
tell him he there is a better experience out there
he might like the full keeb layout
k552 is probably a lot better for gaming
