oh huh can i not send pics
caps get expensive
No like, for all of the keyboard
oh
~~when a dude is getting reds and $200 caps tho,
~~
didn't squashy boy do something like that
Something like this
I DID IT. finnally i finished modding my first mechanical keeb
Gmk blurple one of my favorite cap sets
you can probably just get a basic purple cap set online
i don't really reccomend getting ABS sets though. abs isn't necessarily bad but the cheap sets are especially prone to getting greasy and worn down after a bit
We dont want none abs
<_> I kinda want it here quick tho
i found rubber keycaps. ew
amazon
Unfortunately not really possible
If I get desperate.. I can try to 3d print some caps >.>
are they the weird epomaker ones lol
Lol my amazon caps still shipped from china
idk i found it on mechanicalkeyboards.com
imagine not living next to china
Eeeeeeeee
the best material for keybcaps is metal
Perfect
hk gaming sucks but yeah you can get those
Wait wha @worldly shale
not me just now looking at their site...
this is a preorder but i like this set
just terrible business practices. they've threatened a lot of keycap manufacturers and steal a lot of their designs
:o... that looks cool
Gmk sucks too when you look at them and consider their aftermarket prices
Oh ._.
Me waiting for gmk but pbt:
Colourways are not copyrighted
do good keycaps exist?
Uh.. o rings?
no no
Good is subjective
designs absolutely are considering they stole EPBT designs
But good to me is a $25 set of chinese keycaps that get the job done
but whatever doesn't matter mostly considering the massive clone market anyway
just don't like them
Did epbt copyright their colourways? LOL
Also preferably with no rgb shine through because that means thinner
dude i don't wanna argue this i just said they stole designs and not colorways
Designs how
uh.. this is al going way beyond me
You do realise epbt uses gat blanks right
so uh. i guess just get the hk gaming ones
kk
actually
thank yall
these ones are at least nicer quality
:o?
Keyboards are 95% nonsense and 5% ha ha thock
What's that? @potent void
epbt dreamscape novelties. copyright was an automatic right under HK law. just look it up man i don't wanna argue this
hk gaming caps. they're made better then pbt stuff
oh
yeah cheap pbt caps are better than any budget abs set
idk if you like the yellow but they have a purple one
They're not see thorough tho 😦
No.. that reminds me too much of my university
Not that I don't like it.. just don't like the gold
LA lakers lookin ass
@balmy moon have you decided what profile of keycaps you want?
Profile? O.o?..
Where?
cherry is fine, go with that
cherry is what every other keyboard uses. you're used to that probably so id suggest going with cherry
No
cherry might have interference
Every other keyboard uses oem
really? i thought most used cherry
Cherry is only well known today because of this hobby
every keyboard ive seen appears to be cherry. or maybe i confused that with oem
Not at all, one look at r1 will tell you what it is
i cant really tell but i think mine is oem
@balmy moon if you're only planning to replace a few keys and are using the base caps, go for oem
What are base caps?...
the keycaps that come with the board
you guys are gonna have to be a bit more specific
this is an alright set then
comes with grey modifiers and purple caps + are shinethrough
the caps or the board?
The caps
the hk purple ones seem nice looks wise but im not a fan of the font
mm yes lets make the font as ugly as possibly and then everyone will buy it
they do
@balmy moon you could get some on the site themselves
wdym?
Like, idk the profiles and such on the glorious caps
they're probably gonna be oem
if you're changing the keycaps it wont really matter
unless you're using the old caps too
😮
These purple ones
They look fancy
Eh, just looks like typical shine through caps
I mean, I just need some purple caps
Hey guys, just wanted to ask whether I could install LEDs in my Kailh switces or not. Thanks for your help!
You need to swap the PCB since that's where the LEDs are usually installed.
Apparently there are people who believe the switches provide the backlight. Understandable, but not true. That's the PCB.
I see. I'm new to all this stuff, so I was confused. Thanks for helping!
Happy to help.
first time modding a keyboard (mic was too close to keeb so it sounds loud)
is the spacebar rattly?
nice!
thanks
stabs sounds fine :)
yea
cool!
(most of the rattle is due to the spacebar hitting the plate, so i put bandaidbetween them on the other stabs but couldnt because i would need to re-take apart the keeb and i dont want to do that again)
yea, ill still add more lube though
yea probably the best route to go
ive gotten lazy for modding my keebs so i just take off the keycaps where i know the screws are and take it off from there
yea when you learn how to lube without taking shit apart or just own a syringe it gets way easier lol
I can't cause there is foam blocking it
the screws or the stabs?
there is foam blocking the wire
ahh i see
gj. spacebar and enter still sounds bit rattly tho
Any keycaps suggestions for the gmmk compact?
switches area really just all preference
is there any switch type that you prefer? linear, tactile or clicky
Linear
are you looking for cheap switches or are you fine with paying more
Hm, cheap
ktt is the way to go then
ktt seasalts and recolors are quite smooth and have very good tolerances
Thanks, I'll check it
akko ktts seems to be the most available right now
but im not sure if they are the same molds as wine reds or sea salts
what are some good between 60/75 prebuild keyboards for max 200£
Gmmk compact
get a Leopold 660M
No, you still have to.
oh ok
Fc660m if you want to stay in the cherry camp for some reason.
Womier K66, Gamakay K61 for MUH RGB!!!1!!1
Kemove Snowfox/Shadowfox for a GK61XS with adjustable feet
And ofc, GK61X/XS
spray lube
also gk61 aint that great of an option now, so many gasket boards now
bakeneko with some cheap switches and caps can be under 200
granted if you can get it
How would I know if my keyboard is hit swappable
if it has a purple connector at the end
Ok thx also can anybody recommend any good key caps for a 82 key/ 75%
take out our PCB if you see sockets like this if it doesn’t it’s hotswap
kbd75v3
hex 4b is also in ic, instock sale planned to be somewhere around early April
even if you missed it you can still join gb
Ok thx
can i install those on a non-hotswapable keyboard?
in like a corsair k70
opinions on k7 keycron
I'm so upset about spacebar stabs. I built a friend's Voice65 with Durock V2s and did the Epsi Deskeys mod, added some foam under the spacebar wire to prevent travel in the vertical axis as well as lubing the housings and wire with 205g0
still fucking rattly
no, the PCB needs to be designed to use them
you can, however, desolder the switches and then solder in Millmax 7305, 0305, or 3305 sockets
but honestly for a Corsair K70 i don't think it's worth the effort to do that
Hey guys
Im going for this keyboard and im not exactly sure whether I want to go for the red or brown switch
I found purple Keycaps! 😄
Red
I got red @potent void
nice
im just hoping i dontt accidentally like click a key cause i heard that happens on reds
I dont have the fattest fingers my fingers are quite slim but idk
it doesnt take much to trigger these. im using cherry reds rn
FR
Should have got yellows
Yellow are still really light ... can't type on those without making a lot of mistakes
Ah wait never mind, optical switches and normal switches have diff weights
my reds are heavy for me lmao
gonna go with akko cs pinks next
If reds are heavy get Gateron whites
Are there any side-print SA keycaps? Especially one for a 75%?
Not holding out for the colourway I want so I'm only hoping for those three requirements.
no, also they gat clears
I got a new keyboard I am typing this just to hear it click
"clickity clackity, im typing on my new keyboard happily"
oops sorry
you like want good lightweight switches I recommend ttc gold pink
Any recommendations for a black full sized keyboard with cherry brown switches and rgb?
Keychron C2 should do just fine
its fine
like any other brand
there is a percentage of doa products smh passed QC
dead on arrival
I really hope that isn’t me because if it is, sending it back from Australia will be a pain
Do you recommend any other brands that offer the same type of product?
if you need a board that just work
theres leopold and varmilo, both are plentiful in australia iirc
I want one where I can choose the key caps and switches but not have to build it myself
yea
leopold and varmillo are prebuilts with a lot of stock caps option
and being equipped with cherry hyperglide, they will not have the cherry scratch ™️ , and you can swap in any caps you like
Are the they same as GMMK quality wise and what is the difffernce between Gateron and kailh
gateron and kailh are just different brands
difference in what?
they both manufacture switches but they have their own different kinds of switches
So kailh brown switches are the exact same feel as gateron brown switches
a way of making legends on keycaps and a way of making plastic stuff in general
https://deskthority.net/wiki/Double-shot_moulding
^^
essentially it just means that two layers of plastic are molded into each other so that the legends are extra durable and won't chip off
Do they feel any different?
they are more durable but no
abs feels "smoother" to the touch and PBT is more chalky
but those are plastic types and have nothing to do with the molding themselves
And what do o rings do
make your board mushier Kappa
they're there to ""silence'"" your switches
but usually just end up making them feel mushy not unlike a membrane
suppose to reduce the noise of the switch
also comes with the side effect of heavily mushed when bottoms out
and does not silence the upstroke contact between the stem and the top housing of the switch
for actual silent mechanical switches, there are dampeners where the stem contacts with the bottom and top housing, completely reduce the sound level
o-rings can be used for other modding purposes like jailhousing blues but usually they just mushify the keypress
See full build & review vid : https://youtu.be/z8H233BUGgY
Just wanted to quickly share some typing sounds from the Skog Reboot I built , with Seriko silent linear switches (THANKS KOD)
Skog Reboot (sorry GB closed) : https://percent.studio/products/skog-reboot
The switches : https://zambumon.com/portfolio/seriko/
Track: A Breath of Fresh Ai...
like this for example
There is soo much information about keyboards. You understand one thing then another pops up
I don’t think I want to have a completely silent keyboard
I think the brown switches will make it quite enough with the tactile feel
The brand of switch doesn’t really matter
brown switches have a very light tactile feel jsyk
not necessarily a bad switch but if you're looking for something more tactile akko blues are also an option, but afaik there aren't any prebuilts that have it yet
yea
they are
but like one while i helped my friend
akko 3098 asa black pink
a 1800 board
oh also 3068 v2 year of the ox 2021
What are they?
And I was looking at switches with a more tactile feel but they are a lot louder
wtf i haven't heard of this board
thats because of the speed after you surpassed the tactile event
i heard some ppl said that you are not suppose to bottom out with tactile switch
but it could also be the volume of the sound test you heard
I am not that skilful of a Tyler
cause soundtest can be affected by a bajilion of factor
you can definitely hear them
nope tbh
it all depend on how hard you hit it
and your definition of loud
Ok if you have someone else in the room will they get annoyed
it also depends
like my parents got annoyed by my linear gateron yellow
i find my tactiles to be loud enough to be annoying if i'm not the one typing but at the same time i am autistic and my sensory problems are different to other people
it really just depends
If I wanted to play at 12am without anyone knowing will they wake up
probably not
i play with akko blues and i don't get people knocking on my door to go to bed
i think they will
its nowhere near the sound level of rubber dome keyboards in terms of silentness
I think I will stick with brown and switch later on when I want a upgrade
but again, its so subjective
but it depends on your case and space and all
god knows how deep your mate's sleep are
Lol there are too many factors
. It sucks how there is no store where you can test all this stuff
linears are the best for staying quiet without necesarily going full on mushy
switch testers exist but aren't a very good way to gauge how loud you are
well silent switches are a thing if you want tactility and also silentness
also not representative of the whole typing experience
cause you can only hit 1 switch with 1 finger at a time
^^
it's okay
or rather the led will illuminate the legend and the skirt of the caps
gmmk is terminally Okay I Guess
not a good option if you're going for compact because there are way better options for hotswap 60%s
I don’t want 60% I want the number pad
yea
its one of few keyboards that is full size and also hotswappable
for numpad hotswap boards
Hotsawp means I can change keycaps right
the rakk illis is also a nice board if you can find it but it's a PH only exclusive sadge
no you can do that on all boards
hotswap means you can take out the switches whenever
no
you can change the switch without desoldering
Oh ok
keycaps change is possible on all keycaps, with the requirement that you find caps thats compatible with your switch mounting style
and that you can remove the caps ofc
The other reason why I liked the GMMK was the keycaps that came with it, I wanted the blue colour ones
implying anyone out there even sells non cross stem caps anymore
i've seen like one alps compatible set and that's it
you order those seperately
but if you use the configurator on gmmk website, they will come pre assembled
I think for my first proper keyboard I want it to come all done and for my next keyboard I do more
I don’t want to get in over my head and buy the wrong keycaps or something
you can't really go wrong with keycaps tbf
aside from being the things you type on they're mostly cosmetic
Yea I want it to look sexy at least
LOL
yea
unless you yeet it out a lot like me
then you might run into stem cracking with cheap sets
i need to get new caps ive been using the same miku oem themed ones i got a year back
Is that one any good!
?
https://www.mwave.com.au/searchresult?w=glorious&cnt=40&srt=0&isort=score&view=grid&af=brand%3Agloriouspcgamingrace
https://www.pccasegear.com/brand/393/glorious
this is the 2 authorized glorious seller in australia
them pink caps
yes
built almost like a tank iirc
leopold boards look nice as hell
understated but built nicely
like thats all you need, doesnt need to flex about aircraft grade alu
just pour your budget into making products, boom.
Buy Glorious GMMK Pro 75 RGB Barebone Keyboard - White Ice - GLO-GMMK-P75-RGB-W online with fast shipping and top-rated customer service. Mwave.com.au
sheesshh
Why does this cost more than the keyboard with everything in it
I want a pastel coloured keycaps
it's a higher end board
cause it has a lot of features
rotary encoder, soft mounting style for softer bottom out experience, aluminum chassis, multiple plate material options, hotswap socket, qmk supported, all that jazz
its like glorious first dip into the custom mech world
and although some area are not polished
its still a banger 75% board
Yea I wouldn’t even be able to appreciate it
considering smt like cannonkeys satisfaction75 are much much more expensive with the same ish feature set iirc
ofc the cannnonkeys comes with a thicc block of alu compare to what glorious offered, and the products is more polished and finished imo
yeah i feel like the gmmk pro is more of a board you get after you've tried your first or second mech board and want something more
yep
and can afford it
the cannonkeys is like your typical board on this hobby
expensive, with the hope that it lives up to its price tag in terms of quality
cause its a group buy
have to pay it before it got even made
All they keyboard we have been looking at are good but are there any that look the same with rgb?
i guess varmilo?
theres the double rainbow lineup that has rgb
tho i would happily trade rgb for build quality like the leopolds
^^
I think I might have to
some varmilo pcbs comes with holes for through hole leds if you want to add it down the line
Are there any aus retailers for varmilo boards
mware?
Buy Varmilo VA108M Sakura White Backlit Mechanical Gaming Keyboard - Cherry MX Blue - VA108M-SKRA-WH-BLUE online with fast shipping and top-rated customer service. Mwave.com.au
this is cherry blue
Mans really comparing those two boards
which is noticeably louder
oos sadge
if only they sold a 1800 layout gamakay board
i mean its not really fair to compare those 2
i guess my intention is for illustrating the price gap between 2 similar feature boards
kinda also illustrate how deep this hobby can be
like any other hobbies

linear with lighter spring than mx red
oof
id rather take the gmmk
at that price deficit its not worth spending more for a better build quality
The GMMK would probably be more
Everything costs heaps in auditoria
Australia
Any decent board is $200+ not on sale
i see it selling for 169 on mware?
or is it out of stock?
wow all of em are out of stock
Everything always is
keychron offerings are available
tho its a step down from the gmmk in terms of legend quality
laser etched caps, which might not last as long
in terms of feature set yes
in terms of build quality, i would rate leopold above gmmk
and also yes, they are all using the mx mount style for caps
Hmmmm
That’s good news
And last question before I have all my information, what about the GMMK isn’t as good as the leopold
mainly the caps, cause the keycaps on the gmmk prebuilt with gateron brown are your typical doubleshot shine through pbt with thin side wall and a risk of stem crack if you are not careful
also, the low profile plate might be not as rigid as leopold's high wall approach
Buy Leopold FC900R PD Graphite WF Mechanical Keyboard - Cherry MX Silver - FC900RV/EDPD online with fast shipping and top-rated customer service. Mwave.com.au
their new gpbt caps are decent for the price
How likely am I to break the keycaps?
tbh, its low, unless you yeet your caps out 10 times a week like i used to do
And are there any good website for keycap sets?
pc case gear apparently selling some caps?
so does mware
https://dailyclack.com/collections/keycaps
https://www.switchkeys.com.au/collections/in-stock-keycaps
Australia, it's time to get some colour on your keyboard, and we're going to do that with some nice, quality keycaps. Gone are the days of those thin, crappy keycaps, with a font on them that looks like it was designed by an 8 year old's vision of the future. We're talking quality double-shot plastic, with timeless leg
and these boutique stores
And if I get the GMMK or the leopold what keycaps would I want
i dunno, choose one you like
mostly
like i havent seen any major store selling caps for say alps switches
Jelly POM Keycaps are back with a wider range of colors and configurations! Customize your mechanical keyboard with these minimalistic POM keycaps! POM offers a unique typing experience due to their very dense material. And with their durability and chemical resistance they are an excellent choice of keycaps.
or topre
since youre not going with smt like razer hunstman, the stabilizer should be the same cross mount like this
how much is it?
pccg ip banned my country, i cant access it
prolly shipping
and varmilo being not as well known as say your typical corsair
Glorious GMMK RGB Mechanical Keyboard White Ice
I am either going to buy that and some keycaps to swap it with
Or this one
Buy Leopold FC900R PD Light Pink Mechanical Keyboard - Cherry MX Brown - FC900RN/ELPPD online with fast shipping and top-rated customer service. Mwave.com.au
If you want and planning on swapping out switches and you dont have a soldering iron and solder sucker, go with the gmmk
Otherwise leopold for better stock caps and nicer build quality
I am gonna change stock caps anyways I think
I will sleep on it but thanks for your help
You saved me days of work
No problem!
is it possible to get a DIY mechanical keyboard under 50$?
So I bought the Logitech G series G613 keyboard
Is it possible I could just change the keycaps
Cause they are very high
I would want want abit smaller
you can but its hard
those thing uses romer g from omron, and doesnt have a lot of aftermarket parts
you also just need some time to get used to the board tbh
yea a question
whats wrong if it is romer g
isn't it just that the keycap needs to fit the switch port thingi
Romer G switches have different stems, so no.
Romer G
MX
You won't find a lot of aftermarket keycaps compatible with Romer G stems.
Yeah.
Maybe a wrist rest will help.
oh
it seems like you encourage using the present keycaps
well maybe i just need to adjust tothem
I went from using a Mac OS keyboard to this mechanical one @pallid trout
So you could probably understand the difference im experiencing
ye
like from completely flat to popping out lmao
maybe after time i wil master it
thanks for the advice!
Hope you have a great rest of day/night!
Laters
Feels like I never leave this server 😅
How does a ducky brand keyboard compare to brands such as glorious and leopold
Duckys are prettier
Thats about it
i just got a akko world tour tokyo keyboard band i wanna rebind some keys how can i do that
OOoo
I saw someone with the Glorious GMMK keyboard with purple RGB lights and black+white keycaps
It looked sick
I usually don't use the light on my keyboard
It looks strange with the keycaps sets I have
Wait... does the GMMK regular support QMK/VIA? firmware?
i have the full size one and it uses the gmmk_keyboard app
Does it work on Linux tho???
Someone here actually said it does
Apparently the Pro one does, but not the standard one it looks like
i see
the thing is the keyboard has all the possible combos on it with shortcuts
and ive honestly not used the software
its pretty bad
I know, but I wanted to be able to add layers to it
but the keyboard is good xD
I only brought it because I thought I could control it in Linux >_>
return it ?
It hasn't come up.. still on USPS
i see
Welp.... got to go and find another keyboard
Well the keyboard will work but as for controlling it ... you will have to try it to know most likely
From what I found on their website, you have to get the Pro in order to get QMK support
And you have to have their software to change the keys :/
@ashen oriole Apparently the normal GMMK doesn't even have programmable keys!!!
Even WITH the stock software e_e
damn
i know i can program keys in the pro but the software is hot garbage
no idea how it works
Greeeeaaaaaat
Now it's gonna coast me extra to ship it back
And im not even sure if Im gonna get a refund for the origianl shipping e_e
Wait wth I swear I saw someone using it with VIA
Never mind that was just their normal software….I guess I saw GMMK Pro and didn’t see the pro part
Ah man I’m really sorry
I should have too
However you can setup macros at least. Unfortunately the rgb is limited
From what the guys at the gmmk discord say
You can't even do that <_>
Oh wait, you can.. but you have to turn off RGB
sigh
Well the other option is to return it and get Pro or wait until the Keychron Q1 comes out
75% is similar to tkl so you can reuse your stuff
_> I don't want GMMK at all
Was talking to the guys on there.. even the GMMK Pro is a pain to customize
I'll just get a YMDK and just build one from scratch
.-. I should have done that from the beginning
Uh never mind I found exactly that
There’s even a place to install a wireless module
XD87 Custom Keyboard Kit Kit1=XD87 HS PCB+Black Plastic Case+Stainless steel plate Kit2=XD87 HS PCB+White Plastic Case+Stainless steel plate Kit3=XD87 HS PCB+Black Plastic Case+PCB Stabilizer +Stainless steel plate Kit4=XD87 HS PCB+White Plastic Case+PCB Stabilizer +Stainless steel plate Kit5=XD87 HS PCB +Plastic Cas
you can install rgb leds too i tihnk
Oh cool
80% is another way of saying its tkl
Ah
Ah... that one doesn't use QMK <_>
Guys whats the best possible prebuilt 65% keyboard that money can buy
I've heard that the ducky 65% ones are great but they are 100% wired too if that's a concern
They are more mainstream though
probably not the absolute best, but also your preference of switches may change some prebuilts into non-contenders
@potent void Yeah... im totally against GMMK now
I asked on their discord, someone who had both keyboards pretty much said, the software for both sucks ass
It's fine.. they say I can send it back and get the full refund
And hopefully shipping back cost isn't too high
maybe someone else can suggest a different keyboard/pcb that has everything you need
can confirm software is absolute trash xD
all i can think of is the keychron q1 for now
the keyboard is really good tho
Yeah, the guy said the keyboard itself is good
maybe they can get their shit together soon :)
But the software and customization is god tier garbage for the price
yeup
i wish it was better smh
but i dont wanna do anythin to fancy so im good
give the board a try, you might like it
_> If only USPS can hurry the hell up and come to me
well uh how do you like the keyboard despite the software?
oh i thought you did
No, it just shipped yesterday morning
i was tired this morning and thought this was yours
Oh, no
not sure how you would have gotten that in 1 night though now that i think about it
xD
@potent void Coolio
My classmate from school has a Voyager60 pcb
He says I can have it for free 😄
ay nice
is sk108 a good barebones?
Any advice on how to fix this issue? I am using a budget E element z88 full sized keyboard and my w key just won't work sometimes
What keyboard is that
That's hella lit to see even if you have an issue with it currently
wait I just didn't read your full message ignore the question lmao
those usually have hotswappable keys
I had a 60% keyboard from them and it was fully swap-able
if you have a switch remover, take a switch from another key and put it in the place of the W key. test it again
The issue is that i lost the key switch remover it came with. I have extra switches though. I'll update once I find it lol
you looking for something specific?
Yeah, I was
which was?
Under $200, RGB underlight, 75%/80%, QMK support
what keyboards do you guys recommend? I need a new one and I'm not sure what to get, I've had mine for some years now
Does that mean build quality is the same between all 3 boards?
you can have a nice looking board but terrible quality, or a bad looking board but good quality. a good example is basically any old keyboard
What difference does 1k polling rate make?
I think I will
Yea that’s the only thing holding me back
If you lose too much money check if you can sell it instead of returning it
Apparently even the Pro's a mess to program
Idk if I can even sell it because I didn't order keycaps with it
Where would I sell it at?
Directly from them, and it alreayd shipped :/
That's what I found out today... after it shipped
They say I can.. but they wont cover return costs
I haven't a clue what it is, that's the thing
I needed a keyboard soon
@hasty saffron They say use USPS
Yes
I mean, they recommended me USPS
They gave me a USPS shipping
I mean.. I spent $120 (with fast shipping) for something that don't even program <_>
USD
I just brought the board and the keyswitches
normal
I ordered directly from the manufactuer :/
I wasn't gonna get their caps as I wanted to get my own colors
Board and keyswitches
And shipping
It says 109
anyone? ping me
Don't grab any of the GMMK keyboards
I'm quite out of the loop on keyboards, don't know what that is
Ebay or local ads
@hasty saffron It comes up 109 base for me
not sure what you mean by layouts, do you mean numpad and so on?
well I don't really ever use the numpad but I have one right now, I do need a swedish keyboard layout though
Idk who would even buy it though
yeah, I would like them to
Especially since you can't customize the damn thing
Dude there's a lot of keyboard amateurs out there ...
Not everybody wants to customize the keyboard
I really don't care about macro and all that things
I would not even know what to do with macro support
probably
I never installed keyboard software even tho I have and had a fair amount of boards
most likely since not every nordic country share the same letters
But then I'd have to sell it less than what I paid for tho
Not necessarily if it's brand new ... sell for the brand new price without taxes
alright will do, seems like every varmilo keyboard is sold by a company in my region too so that's nice
they don't seem to be sold here
becoming a fan of varmilo va88m sea melody fan rn
the keycaps are so nice
might get the mousepad with it too
seems like I can pick from blue, brown, red and silent switches
@hasty saffron
You know of any side-print SA keycaps?
:(
why do they not exist
Wha
Oh. US Amazon, that's why lmao
Wait a minute
Those aren't SA profile

Wait I'm being dumb
Now I don't know
Indeed they look like OEM profile
The back.of the top row is really curved yes
I got my first xda profile set ... can't wait to try it out with some of the akko switches I got
Niiice
Indeed
does anyone know if the sea melody keyboard is good?
I like the looks of it
varmilo
I just really like the way it looks
its pretty
what are good stabilizers?
durock stabs are good
:(
No like
I can't even get one
My mom just saw what keyboard
She got mad that I even brought it
So I got to send it back anyway
Late update, but I bought a key switch remover on Amazon cause I lost mine and the board came with extra switches, so I won't need to take any of them from the existing keyboard. Thanks for the help really appreciate it
Yeah :/
I was suggesting that so you can see if the switch was at fault. It’s good to know you have spares though
Ohhh okay I see
I ended up getting a varmilo 110% keyboard
It was heafty in price but I think it will be worth it
I just got my new keyboard
Show us thanks
@hasty saffron would you personally go for vortex or varmilo?
anyone here online
Is the sound switching from G to H normal? Im using the gateron optical reds with the same keycaps
Yeah theres usually a small sound difference between keys
Yes normal since it’s tray mounted
u can do the oring mod for the sound to be more even
Probably TKL or full size
hexgears gk707?
you will have to buy it off ailexpress
doesn't look like ali express delivers here
i got a hyperx cherry red keyboard for 45 do u think that was a good deal
which one?
i mean you dont have much option for a 45 usd mechanical keeb
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B074F5L8GQ/ref=ox_sc_act_title_5?smid=ATVPDKIKX0DER&psc=1 wait i got it messed up it was 54
fine ish deal imo
you can get the hexgears gk707 for a hotswap board with half decent stock linear and tactile and one of the best modern clicky switch option
I had a blackwidow v1 should I buy another one like huntsman mini for my laptop ? Btw the huntsman mini have a float switch make rgb look better right ?
whats the switch you have on the og blackwidow?
and i dont recommend the hunstman mini, its overpriced imo
floating switch has nothing to do with rgb looking better
Green switch
Huntsman mini is fine for the price especially since you’re paying for optical switches
I bought BW v1 because its sale off about 80 bucks and they only have it left ,other are huntsman elite ,cynosa and bw pro ( I dont need the pad so I didnt buy it) ,bw tournament and white mercury
Or I can buy BW v3 ?
And one more thing what is it look like when the green switch had stroked for 80 million times ?
eh the leaf got deformed to a point where the switch will always in the open position
for its smoothness or for its many marketing attributes?
Should I worry about my keyboard gonna out of date ?
meh
For rattle?
you see old cherry board still going
you mean switch wobble?
Sounds like a rattling instrument to me
i still dont understand what you mean by rattle?
like the switch sound rattle?
Just when shaking the keyboard
ah
i dont think its a thing with the hunstman mini at least?
All of them sound like there are a bunch of loose bits
huh
kemove snowfox time
is razer cynosa v2 good? or hyperx alloy fps is better?
alloy is better cause the switch feels more solid, not a hyper tactile rubber dome with a click leaf like the cynosa
Þ
Who makes that, legitimately interested
Ohh i see
Yo I just got a corsair K95 platinum with brown switches for 64 bucks, good deal?
for the price i guess so
Ok thanks!
Oh yeah
it's fine
still seem pretty good to me too
They use dye subbed keycaps since some of their boards don't have backlighting but honestly I don't need the lighting
And I've heard dye subbed caps last almost as long as doubleshot ones
I'd really want to build my own keyboard but the 75% layout doesn't really exist and also it's way too expensive IMHO
Hmm
Are keychron boards solid?
Well smoothness and the actuation point
If you value those things then go for it
imagine thinking you can get one
[GB] Paw - Bluetooth Arrow Cluster Macropad - GB Closed!
it was a GB that ran last November, $150 each
although on Mechmarket they're not selling for a big premium over that original price
Is there any tkl prebuilt with kailh box white ?
Hexgeats gk707 and hexgeats gemini
Gk707 is on aliexpress
For the Gemini, yea it's 100 usd from Kono store

Thanx a lot
Steelseiries apex 5
most hybrid are ass
He got that
cause the mush at the bottom out
if your friends got a topre it would have been a great deal
As a blue switch owner I agree
Tried my dads red switch keyboard. My good did it feel good
anyone here have an sk61?
I am trying to find the right way to put the spacebar in. It has no legend on it and it also looks the same on either side because its a dsa keycap
whatever looks right tbh
got my first switch keyboard the other day, gonna lube the stabs eventually cus they’re really rattly but other than that i really like this thing
Idk if this is the place, but I found dis and I would like to share it
Fits a niche area but may be useful
so i got 130€ to get a kb from this store https://www.plaisio.gr/pc-perifereiaka/perifereiaka-pc/pliktrologia/type_kind-pliktrologio/sortby-price/view-48
guys, I have a Apple Magic keyboard for my PC. It's not a gaming keyboard, it lacks RGB, and I want volume control on it. But every time I try a new keyboard like the G915 TKL or huntsman mini, I end up getting wrist cramps and go back to the apple keyboard. Anyone have any to suggest?
I love the slimness of the apple keyboard, i barely have to lift my hand from the table to touch the keys
give wristrests a shot
I have tried them but I just can't get used to them
hmm
Someone reccomended a ZSA Moonlander but the learning curve is something else
idt there is anything much for u to try
even the super low front height keebs are like 17mm
logitech makes some slim office ones but they are lacking a lot of features, so I'm not really gaining anything
yeah just wish there was something like it, not like it's been out for like a decade or anything lmao
any recommendations?
I dont have a moonlander but a very similar keyboard and it took like 3 days for me to get used to it and have about same typing speed as I usually have.
But do you like it?
hey do y’all have any recommendations for a 60% hot swappable keyboard?
gmmk
glorious?
bakeneko60
Kemove snowfox
looks like an amazing keyboard
Any recommendations for a mechanical flat square keycap board? Ideally a full sized one with red switches, but I’d be fine with pretty much anything.
I’ve got my eye on this, but I’m not sure if there is anything better at the same price or comparable but cheaper
https://www.amazon.com/Cooler-Master-Sk-650-Gklr1-US-Mechanical-Keyboard/dp/B07N4DFPNM
hmm
do you think the g20 profile caps is what youre looking for?
I don’t know anything about keyboards, how would I go about looking for one with those keycaps? Also, thanks for the response
https://pimpmykeyboard.com/g20-pbt-blank-keysets/
these guys
which currently only available blank with no legend
Thanks!
check with the place you bought it from
I got it from gmmk directly
email em
I did, they just told me make a label and send it off
yee
They suggested to go to usps.. but idk how much it'll cost
usps should be pretty cheap
Idk what size to get...
Wait, what if I sent it back in the original shipping paper it was in?
(And yes, for some reason it was shipped in paper)
What is good tkl keyboard
Budget, features and switch type?
70-120 cad
And the other two?
Idk bout switches just want a good keyboard for features same thing
thanks for the help
idk
do u think the kemove is good?
are there any other hot swappable keyboards for 200$?
yeah
i’m also thinking of buying the elgato wave 3 but it’s 230$ where i live
Yeah no
At that point USB mics are not worth it.
If you need the Elgato software suite there's the Wave:1 or the Wave XLR.
If you want that but cheaper there's the Rode NT-USB Mini.
Do you have a budget?
i can also go xlr
Motu M2 and an xlr mic
Bro that Motu is most of that $230 lol
Don't got for it if you can't afford it.
It's good, but expensive
But yeah
Do you have a budget?
yh
Nex said there was a $30 mic that was good
200 - 250$
But it's overkill for a $30 mic if you're using it for just an interface.
That’s true
If you're also using it as a DAC then maybe.
is FC750R good
did they remove the macro feature from corsair icue?
should i get the audio technica at2035?
Can you move to #audio-tech
yh
So i just got a new keyboard its the sk61 and overall im happy with all the switchs and keys sound good but my spacebar sounds different when i press it on the right side and the left side
is that normal?
one sounds more thoccy while the other sounds a liitle rattly
wire?
the metal thing in the stabs
basically differences in the keycap weight
and shape
one side could be a little lower then the other or the other could be a little heavier
theres always gonna be some sound difference between keys
fr
how do you want the keyboard
The main differences between Brown and Black are that Brown are going to be a bit lighter (less stiff to push), and they will have a tactile "bump" that you feel as you press a key down, letting you know when the keystroke has registered. Black switches are linear, which means they have no bump
See
there's no such things as best switches for games ... it's only marketing
There's a problem in the keyboard world.
And it's called

And yeah, there are no "gaming" switches.
Though, if you wanted the fastest engagement time, then you go for switches with a very high actuation point.
So I guess those can count, but still
It's mostly preference.
"Gaming" switches are usually those that are light, short total travel and high actuation point ...
What do you get with those is involuntary keypress if you're not careful
Those won't give you any edge in games ... you should focus on mouse or monitor for that
It might, actually, but I agree with the sentiment that you'll find better improvements elsewhere.
I like lego car
What would a good mechanical RGB keyboard for 60-70$/€ be?
TKL or full
Ok so any normal mechanical keyboard would be fine?
from womier?
ok thx
seems like I can't have that here, any other recommendations?
Does not ship to here
Hello?
hexgears gk707?
also check aliexpress for both the k87 and this
Ok thx I will take a look
purple
how does the blue feel?
the tactile bump is snappy, the sound is a bit high pitch for my taste, the weight is maybe a little light but the tactile bump make up for that
the blue feels about the same with a bit deeper sound and a bit of higher resistance when bottoming cause of the progressive spring ...
at least that's what I was able to determiner from trying them in only 4 spots before deciding which one to put in all the keyboard ... later next month maybe I'll change the purple for the blue
the keycaps are nice, it's my first xda profile set ... it feels a bit weird compared to the other profile I tried
How do I do it, so that when I hold my spacebar, it spams space on via
and when I release the spacebar it sdtops
