Amazon.com: Womier K66 60% Mechanical Keyboard, Hot Swappable Tyce-C Wired RGB Backlit Gateron Switch 60% Mechanical Keyboard for PC PS4 Xbox (Blue Switch,White): Computers & Accessories
on the site
get the yellow version of this
also $73 is kinda budget
you can get the yellow womier board and lube the switches
though i'd go for the SK61 over the womier cause hot swap actually
yeah
Get SK61
ok, i may go for the 64 tho cause it has arrow keys and idc about smol shift + delete
i just have doubts about the build quality of the board
like, duribility?
deck flex and all
ah
like some cheapass bendy plastic plate, even with the best switches, is gonna feel like a mushy mess
Though personally, I prefer a really stiff typing experience
I use a corsair k70 m.2 right now though im switching to a custom board, the corsair board has a 3mm plate of aluminum as the plate
apparently the plastic is thick enough, i've read some reveiws
ok then go for it ig
idk, i think that i would need arrow keys as i use them for typing (deleting and selecting) a ton while writing
when i hear clickies, they sound like fingernails on a chalkboard
does anyone know of malibu keycaps with a non standard bottom row?
SKCM Blue?
Box Jade?
Likely not. Gotta go for OEM-spec caps.
Could also look them up but I doubt it.
Anyone know a wrist rest with similar material to the one used in the corsair k95 platinum?
The Motospeed one?
the royal kludge rk61, I dont know if its motospeed or anything
Oh I’m thinking of ck61
You need to get a switch puller and pull each switch out
Or if it’s not hot-swap, desolder them all
desolder huh
Do you know if your keyboard is hotswap?
I dont think its a hotswap
Well good luck then

Rip
It’s not hotswap so you do need to desolder but I’ve done it before on my rk61 and it’s not as hard as it seems. On another note, the rk61 is a cheap piece of crap whose controller is prone to dying for no reason so it’s probably not worth your time. Buy a diy kit and use the rk61 as a practice board.
rip not in stock
You could look at candykeys (germany) and mykeyboard (belgium) for example
thanks, didn't have luck with either 😦
Though with a ton of switches you can even use the likes of aliexpress
Which switch(es) are you looking for?
i was looking for gateron optical silent reds
Ah, then AliExpress
some specific stores there which are trustworthy?
Smarter Shopping, Better Living! Aliexpress.com
This is a good example
Skyloong is a decently known keyboard manufacturer
mhm, even they dont have the silent variant though 😄
the regular gateron optical red i can find easily, the silent red seems to be nigh impossible
I've never seen silent optical reds before
Gateron Optical Switches SWITCH COLORS Gateron Optical Blue Gateron blue switches have a tactile and auditory click when you press them. These are the loudest switches that we have available. Gateron Blue switches have a 55 gf actuation force. Gateron Optical Brown Gateron Brown switches have a tactile bump but don’
they have silent red listed
Huh, til
i'm wondering if they're just some switches they've modded themselves
but pricce would suggest not
Sadly x-bows and epathbuy seem to be the only ones from what I've seen selling it
yeah 😄
what kind of keyboard frame those would fit either way i'm clueless on this stuff
just looking for some ISO layout board that's in stock somewhere
But considering they ask 50 for a switch normally costing 15... They might as well have
seems that gateron opticals don't fit typical cherry one at least
Gateron optical in general isn't standard mx pcb compatible
You need mechanical switches for a mechanical board, optical for optical boards
so annoying not to be able to just order ready keyboard to my specs ;D
There are a bunch of optical boards out there, but all the one's I've seen use normal optical switches
Silent I've only seen on mechanical
might have to look at different switch then
Just expect to pay 50c/switch for good silent switches
hmm, let's say i'd get the GMMK board then, what silent switches i can get for that that fit
that are cherry mx red silent equilevant
i saw that glorious is selling cherries and gateron regulars for it
Glorious doesn't sell cherry with it, only kailh, gateron and their own... But any 3 pin switch fits
And you can make 5 pin fit with an easy modification to the switch
Durock dolphin/daybreak
Gateron silent red/yellow/black
Gazzew bobagum
JWK Silent Linear/Silent Alpaca
Kailh box silent pink
Zeal Sakurios/roselios
lots of switches to look at 😄
And I'd personally replace the stabilizers on the gmmk with either cherry or durock plate mount
Gmmk does not fit pcb or screw in, fyi
And some grease to lube it
Maybe add some thicker foam below the pcb too
The stock foam is rather thin
is there some stores where you can just order this stuff fully customized
i don't mind shelling out some 300€ for a kb
i saw varmilo had customizer like that at least
No-one is really offering custom GMMKs, but it depends a bit on who you order from and what size you're looking for
Since many either don't have an option for assembly or just don't sell many of the mentioned switches
Then again, gmmk can be bought barebones, so it's easily done to do this yourself
not necessarily GMMK, any customs
with some of these popular quiet switches
GMMK is the option if i do it myself
(as it sadly seems to be one of the few things in stock)
If it's any Hotswap custom you still might as well do it yourself
Well, varmilo only does it with cherry and their own ec switches (their ec switches are awesome, but don't have rubber on the stem)
And yeah, hotswap won't make things all that hard
was wondering about those ec2 sakuras earlier too 😄
They're really nice switches for linears
For a silent board it would really annoy me if the springs were loud
https://furiku.dev/chrome_enK9MNCU8q.png been basically juggling between these 3 for a while now
So personally having a hotswap board so you can at least lube the springs is best imo
I would leave out va109m personally
that was the prebuilt option indeed
which is why i've been leaning towards the other ones
But that's mainly because I'm really not a fan of Cherry switches in general
i'm using cherry mx silent reds right now which is why i'm using them as baseline option
but always open for other suggestions
and options
For gmmk, I'd do the following
- one of the above silent switches or even normal linears
- durock plate mount stabilizers (~10 euros for a full set)
- krytox 205g0 or equal for the switches
- grease for the stabilizers
- thicker foam below the pcb
And then a keycap kit of your liking
You don't really even need to do silent switches per say here, because the other parts are already making the board a lot more quiet in general
as long as they're not lclicky i'm already quite happy
I've heard someone type on a corsair board with silent reds before and asked him if he was typing on blues
so any good linear will be fine
With linears it's mainly weight preference at that point
Slightly heavier switches can help people too often
i think the difference between linear silent red on corsair and random blue cherry board is noticeable
at least to me as user i can hear the difference instantly
but i'm also used not to smash the keyboard
so i don't bottom out loudly
spacebar is probably the most noticeable loud key due to stabs there
Issue is mainly that the housing doesn't have any dampening and it rattles, that's where a lot of noise comes from in many keyboards
there it sounds bad for sure
But yeah
And for your idea, I have a gmmk here
Just the ansi version of that board
so even gateron reds could in theory be just fine hmm
If you want something sub-50g for 20c/switch, sure
You'd definitely need to mod the stabilisers in a silent board to be more quiet too
i don't mine 50c/switch
mind*
just needs to be something that's in stock and not in some 10 month waitinglist group buy
😄
good chunk of this custom keyboard stuff seems to fall into out of stock/waitinglist/group buy categories from what i've seen so far
That's just how small scale hobbies work
hmmm
akko cs?
being manufactured by ktt it has fine smoothness stock
and its like 10 for 45
Aren't they ttc?
Yes but they're not the quietest linears
its ktt
Evidence for this being?
can some one help me my g15 keyboard is not working
but the hot keys are working
what are everyone’s favorite switches
None because I haven't tried them all yet.
Out of the ones I've tried, it's a tie between the Durock T1 and the Drop Halo Clear.
@orchid summit Durock L1 lubed
okay lemme do research on it
last steps to gooo, keycaps!
GMMK + Gateron Red/Black + o-rings + some keycaps yet to be decided in ISO layout
Nice!
Let us know what it’s like when done
50-100 for full set of keycaps max for me
Try the Hk gaming caps on Amazon
let's see if i can find it on amazon germany
i need ISO layout keycaps specifically (everything i find is disgusting ansi ) 😄
Those come with everything
Our enter is beautiful how dare you >:(
almost tempted to just go with boring af pudding set
but i kinda would want something bit more flashy if i'm going for custom
is the Ducky Mecha Mini the same thing as the Ducky One 2 Mini but with metal?
imma bne getting akko wt soon
looks like it costs 400$ for a sound
Mm thock
looks like every other white keyboard with rgb
The keycaps aren’t white
yeah it's cause i haven't done anything with the rgb
MAN that's some THICC THOCCs
That do be looking real nice tho
ugh i wanna upgrade from 60% to TKL but lordy that $$, i can't get anything i like for less than $400
mine was less than $400
does it do split bs?
split bs means the possibility of programming 1 extra key in number row. So: Esc, 1-9, 0, -, = then TWO more 1u keys instead of just one more 2u
no, I have a 2u backspace
which keyboard?
im actually looking for one <$400 but the split BS board requirement is making it hard
VERY few boards are TKL and support that
yeah then that's your problem
you use split bs
this board just doesn't support it
straight from the 90s
i mean, weird plasticy 90s look aside. It's a Sun Keyboard with UNIX layout
i feel like there's a fun story behind that vertical monitor on the side?!
i have same monitor
Yeah we used to have those at school
thocc
https://furiku.dev/chrome_3RLfzZckzZ.png it is done
Thoughts on Corsair K55?
nothing good to say about corsair 😦
I've got their k70 and i'm switching away from it because of poor build quality of it
Even for $34?
i'd say "you get what you pay for"
Any alternatives you'd suggest up to $50?
all rubber domes are pretty much the same
buy whichever manufacturers software you prefer at that point
Tbh it works wonders, most used and most important keys are mechanical, and the rest feels pretty decent
QWERASDF
interesting
at that point honestly I would say that you won't be upgrading for $50
I'm not a fan of the aesthetics
I would recommend saving up a bit and getting proper entry level mechanical
Well
I've been looking around and it's either a cheap mechanical upgrade or a Corsair K95
I need extra G keys on the left
How much is a K95?
About $150
hmm
Damn
That's low-end custom mech money.
didn't lienus make video on ghetto-mechanicals
Honestly the only reason why I'm looking for a replacement from my B418 is because I need left side G keys
https://youtu.be/vupP1rS4MLw he had indeed

On Amazon (PAID LINK): https://gen...
I need 3 things at this point
- Illumination
- G Keys
- Mechanical
so you need macro keys then
I mean
You can get a keyboard with a fully-remappable board.
how about that asus optical thing
No, my current one can remap
Swap out keys you don't need on another layer.
hold on
I need extra function keys
You use every single key on your keyboard? Huh
thought about getting better mouse instead?
I have a 10-button mouse
I was thinking a Logitech G502
Unsure, I never had any problems with any mouse shapes
I try to avoid the low profile slim ones
i tried it myself for 2 months and gave up and bought new naga
Just find a used razer blackwiddow or something like that
it's a solid mouse for the price, highly recommending it for those who can use it 🙂
But I used many mice of different shape and size and they all seemed fine for me
for me naga is just unbeatable
It's either Logitech G502 or Corsair Ironclaw at this point
Hmm
That kind of key layout wouldn't work for me
I need them to be easy distinguishable
basically all those 12 buttons are used with thumb
they are actually very easily distinguishable
Right hand is already pretty occupied with mouse and numpad
I know, because of the shape
Still
In my scenario of use, they'd get mashed together
as for keyboard, get one with macro keys if that's your use case
Yeah as I said, I've been looking for a cheap "functional" replacement
definitely useful there
I mean
There's also a used Swiftpoint Z.
If you guys have any good suggestions that fit, I'm all ears
Otherwise it's either a Logitech G910 or a Corsair K95
14 button actions.
Gyro, deep clicks, and movement macros. Infinite button layering.
I think the logitech you're looking is a solid budget option since you definitely want those macro keys
it's not amazing keyboard, rubber domes never are
but it'll do.
Says G910 is mechanical?
Here's my current mouse
There's a button you can't distinguish
If you want something more accessible the G502 is also an option. 10 buttons with 9 more behind G-Shift.
The bottom flat part is also a key and it's incredibly useful
But I would say Swiftpoint Z for its immense customizability.
Honestly this mouse is just a cheap and random find, but I couldn't be happier with the ergonomics
Nah, my right hand is satisfied
All I need are some left hand keys and I'M good
I used to use this keyboard
Many many years ago
Could get a Streamdeck. Or maybe a Razer Cyanosa for its ability to be a separate macro board.
those are way outside his budget
I remember Taran speaking about it in his Hasu converter video.
The Cyanosa? I don't think so.
The Streamdeck sure.
streamdeck yeah, caynosa would be decent :p
or any other ghetto tier macro keyboard withi software
Isn't G910 mechanical tho
yes
what's 1800?
oh i have the older version of that mouse with just the 3x3 grid on the side not interchangable it's aewsome for MMOs
I really don't wanna spend that much on a keyboard
But it seems like its either that or the K95
@sour peak i'm on my third naga ;D https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachments/218080807804207104/728325313787985960/IMG_20200702_220430.jpg
tried buying g502 when my second broke.. didn't like g502 in the end and bought yet another naga
@sour peak
Hol up
If I'm not mistaken that is a ZMF headphone. Not sure which one it is though.
oh nice, i'm thinking of getting a wireless one at some point
i'm shamed to admit that i'm too dependant on naga to play mmos
to give up on it
that's literally the only time i genuinely need those buttons
along with dota
i have nothing good to say about razer build quality at this point
My g502 rn is breaking, I just bought another one LUL
psst
Swiftpoint z
1st naga: optical sensor broke, 2nd naga: one of the switches broke
join the gang
yop! they can kinda look alike this is a Atticus in Zebrawood (ltd edition). Funny enough i got it YEARS after it's production when i was trying to buy zmf from deskhero.ca (or whatever it was called back when they were selling mostly audio stuff in canada) and he had ONE left and it was a zebrawood he had kept for display purposes. https://i.redd.it/8qj57j42fue31.jpg
Awwwww shiiiiit
I've just bought a mx master 3, I don't wanna spend another 200 XD
Fair enough lol
I'm telling you though
Aside from the weight (which is actually 5g less than the G502 Wired lol) and the somewhat heavy clicks it's really nice.
i love it! its built like a TANK sounds great! i use it with tubes. i just need to get some good cables with it and figure out why only my rigth ear always feels like it doesn't fit
ooh dang never seen htat before
@pallid trout why did they put an oled display on the mouse? Just cause they could?
It's useful so you can see information like tilt angles, deep-click percentage, and current DPI levels.
Fair, at least that's useful to some
I mean hey you can totally put something silly there too if you really wanted, but yeah.
I like their approach to adding more programable keys without going the razer naga route
RGB!
ii spent 500
Can ICUE interface with non corsair devices? im wondering if i should just get a cheap corsair keyboard, put some new switches and keycaps on
Can't imagine that working at all.
aight
ooooh
nice
it's ok if you mod it
it can work with ASUS devices
@west jackal honestly, probably not worth the time or effort
I wouldn't lube or film switches unless you plan on using them for a long time or you really like them for some reason
no-name brand reds, or even gateron reds, aren't good enough switches that I'd consider it worth it. If you like linear, pick up some Durock L1s in the future, or C3 tangerines, or something of that sort. Those switches are worth lubing and filming.
personally i'd go for the id80 but it's personal preference
@blazing star I'm lubing some gateron milk yellows mostly for funzies and acoustics.. (it's noticable particularly the spring ping)
milk yellows are surprisingly good value for the cost imo
I'm making keyb's for family and doing milky yellow G8's
Hmm V1 or V2 for id80? I prefer the id80 look too
I was surprised about akko cs too, though
Ordered both of the linear versions... And for 10 bucks/45 I can't complain
I ordered the green ones and I’m expecting them soon
They do come in pretty nice packaging too
I am going to use them for a long time. And it's just one all nighter (keyboard comes when i have school holdiays)
Any lube reccomendations that I can get to new Zealand?
umm anykey in au should be shipping there?
@west jackal switchkeys.com.au should ship there reasonably
there's also always bangood
or did I get it on aliexpress.. never can keep those two straight.
67lite for softer bottom out feeling
And id80 for stiff bottom out feeling
Do note that id80 will have a pingy sound profile due to the mounting styles
Ooh thanks. Id80 is cheaper here and I prefer the look of id80 so I may pick it
What do you think of the id80 V1 against V2?
No comment of sound profile
Mounting style is the same iirc (integrated plate, do re check it yourself)
V2 supposedly fix the problem of clip in stab fitment in the space bar stab iirc
What switch?
So gk64xs ... is there any down side? Cause I found a used one for a great price
Also I don't care if it north facing switches
i have the gk64xs. they are nice
👍
Anything to look out for
Also break over be back in 2h30
do you need any type of bandaid to bandaid stabs
also how to take out kemove shadow stabs
if yall know so much about keyboards then tell me how many keys are on one
outside of the software being reportedly mediocre and the pcb using non-standard screw layout... decent
Not sure, so far my 64xs has no problems
I got an email about the Q1. These two pictures were included. It will have full MacOS and windows support, however, there appears to be no Bluetooth
Pretty sure it's also 5-pin.
So the only switches you can't slot in are optical switches lol
¯\_(ツ)_/¯
The PCB will be restocked in mid-July, please join the waiting list. For orders placed after 5/29, 2021,the flashing method has been changed. Click here: New Flash Manual Get the .bin file directly from here: New dztech_dz65rgb_v3_via.bin Specs Hot-swap RGB Led for Per-key Type-c USB It is compatible with tofu65 Alu
might get the 60 version
Thanx for all your input about the gk64xs ... I think that for 40$ cad it's worth getting
the kemove shadow has nkro @unkempt dome
Any mx style switches
Probably ...
so nice
Not using the snowfox for now
I use blues. I imagine it’s those but more
not really
they are slightly louder but sound much better than mx blues
They also feel the best out of clicky switches in my opinion
gateron optical reds (sk64)
ah, then ideally Krytox 205g0 or equal, if not available the bit more thin Krytox 204g0/Tribosys 3204 would work fine too
the 205g is out of stock. would tribosys 3203 work?
well, 205g0, 204g0
sorry, 206g0 was the grease
but yeah, those two would be it for Krytox
As thick as peanut butter! Daily Clack's Krytox GPL 206 is thick and perfect for tactile switches. We've lubed BOX switches, as well as MX tactiles and really enjoyed both the feeling and sound that this Krytox creates. But that's not to say these Krytox 206 won't work on linears either. If you want buttery smooth swit
is this good?
it says tactiles wfuesbfeuabefuoeahbfoq
bruh i need lube
dont take that out of context
@west jackal
For tactile it's best if you use thin lube if you plan on lubing the legs.
Don't know about 206g2 though.
Oh so whatever lube would do fine, like 205g0.
oof dang
right?
for linears
oh, why?
oh, if i bought thin and thick lube
and mixed them
would that work?
Thick lube results in smoother operation at the risk of gunking up the actuation. Can get mushy.
its hard to apply
Also this.
wdym
?
ty
if i can find it where it ships to nz
sure
new zealand
ty
ill just pay amazon shipping if it's cheap enough
Dow Corning Molykote EM-30L Synthetic Grease Lubricant, 1oz Container.: Industrial Lubricants: Amazon.com: Industrial & Scientific
does this work?
shoot $15 shipping
ill check that
oh is this good for like linears?
sold out :/
thats fine if its a bit thin
ill make it work
tysm
i have a question? my corsair got recently drunk?
dishwasher?
it flashes the white light in the caps and num lock?
Thoughts on AOC AGK700 AGON Cherry MX Red?
I finally found it, everything I need
It's mechanical, has macro keys on the left hand side, and is rgb so that I can do solid white
it's a GAMER keyboard, for GAMING
@bold kelp ok but hear me out: for $180, you can get a GMMK and put your own switches and keycaps on it
or gmmk pro if you're gonna spend a bit more
Macros can be done with a macro pad
then eh
The custom keycaps, as well as macro pads are also out of the picture due to region
It's a choice between this, the Corsair K95 or the Logitech G910
A lot of those keyboards have rattly shit stabilizers, that's the problem
corsair has ok software at least
idk about AOC
Yes
it occurs to me that i've made a horrible mistake
i bought GMMK board - but it doesn't have wrist rest
now i've got to get nice wrist rest separately O.o
wristrests sare cheap tho @short bolt
got to find nice one though
i'm just wondering if i should perhaps consider making one myself
3d printing + some leather perhaps
would recommend woodworking for that
I have a mouse wristrest i made
that was 3d printed
I'
the downside is that i have quite bad experience witrh these separate wristrests which are not attached to kb
I'd recommend wood for keyboards
they move and are annoying over time
The glorious one stays put
hmm, wish i could test if i like the wood one or not in advance
k70 i've got for example has plastic/rubberised wristrest
If you go to microcenter or best buy they'll prolly have smth for you there
Wood is much nicer than the k70 one
unfortunatel yi'm not american
This is my setup
stores here would only have some of those genereic shitty ones in store
the glorious wristrest is fine, and stays put very well
thre's no way thing that size would move with rubber mat
I really like it
thinner one would perhaps
yeah perhaps
I can rest my forearms on it too
it's a great typing experience
pretty ergonomically friendly
most wrist rests will probably accomplish that
Not really — if they’re too short it doesn’t work
Hacking animation on the g810
@frozen latch
Where's your banner from?
Got it from Google buddy
Ahhh
I can try find it again if you want?
Sure.
are you actually the owner of logitechs serve?
*server
They haven't made an official one but I've made one and it's growing, we passed 200 members today lol
what are some good gat red replacements
bc mine wobble
and sound nice
or ill just get akko wt
for birthday
might jsut keep the wobble
Ngl I’m more interested in your other keycaps
Yeahhh
I wanna do a build soon
A 60% with just simple white theme
I have not planned what switches however
I don’t know if I wanna betray my love for clickers to go linear this once
koi in resin
i ordered a new Ducky keyboard from the official website but it didnt email me with any tracking info. how do i know when it will come 😐
What is the cheapest hot swappable prebuilt board with rgb? So far I found the Keychron C1 at $75 usd
oh this is a thing now
https://kbdfans.com/collections/new-arrival/products/kbd67-v3-aluminum-case
Specs Compatible with KBD67 Lite R1/ R2 keyboard The weight of aluminum case: 880g Black/ E-White/ Grey color Battery slot size (for KBD67 lite R2 battery customers): 260mm(length) x 40mm(width) x 3.7mm(height) $35 extra if you need a brass weight bar inside the case The weight of the brass weight bar: 310g Gasket Mou
note that it's just a metal enclosure requiring the internals of the 67 lite
though I'm fairly sure kbdfans would eventually sell them separately from a complete 67 lite
demand for a 67 lite is just too high right now
Pain.
they said they still have 2800 more units or so to ship from the R2 drop
lmao
so I'm fairly sure the total R2 numbers were somewhere between 5-10k units
many people want to buy affordable, well made and good looking keyboards in this hobby filled with flippers and 300 dollar aftermarket keycaps, who would have thought
regardless of flippers though, if somtehing isn't produced anymore, price is gonna go up for it

though with more people in the hobby, popular sets will get runs again
until eventually hobby is big enough to justify having it regularly stocked/in stock
but that relies on GMK upping their production capabilities even more than what they are doing now
no it doesnt rely on gmk
gmk should have been abandoned long ago
the only reason why people buy and run gmk is resale value
lmao no
GMK is still the best quality manufacturer with the most colour options
it's like saying abandon Nvidia cos they can't keep up with production demand and scalper prices are high
lmao
just my opinion
ive seen enough to know we should've gone to other manus long ago but the community speaks with their money so whatever
Guys I need a budget Gaming mouse, any suggestions? $40 US
I'll be honest though
GMK is taking om more work than they should right now
Delays, errors in QC and such show
yaay, my gmmk is in local post office now
no keycaps or o-rings yet tho, fook
amazon employees instantly being lazy since bezos quit as CEO 3 days ago
Indeed they are
they got a lot more machines to produce keycaps though but I last I heard about them a few months ago was that they're slowly phasing them into production and training people to use them and they think around September will be when they'll have them all up and running.
Not sure how on track with that they are atm though
Rn, my choices are Razer Viper Mini, Cooler Master M710, M711 and now yours Corsair Harpoon
why not?
its so cheap you might as well take a shot at it
weighting around red iirc
might be fun
also would get rid of the wobble
and would look good
should i lube and film?
i really like my viper mini
Do you have small hands or big hands?
biggish
Same
i like it
Do you get full control with Viper Mini?
yea
Mhmm.... 🤔
better than my deathadder elete
I see
the only problem is the lift off range
but u can change it
Ohh...how?
just get razer synapse
I have to install that with an account?
and pick the mousepad that looks like the one u have
nope
I already have a mousepad
Okay
i love it
and the underglow is really cool
Interesting
id be all for a wireless one
Haha...
Someone can steal your mouse and runaway 😂
with the really good razer sensor
Clicking from a distance
yup
the optical switches are really nice
of the Razer Viper Mini?
no chance of double click
yea
O_o
i love the switches
better then the ones in the deathadder elete
How is it even bent like that lol
insert to the socket wrong way
But surely it would of bent at the bottom then and not turned into a hook at the end lol
that idk
That can happen with a hotswap socket
i accidentally did this to my gat yellows :((
yeah truly no clue how it did most likely happen how he said
eeesh i was lucky to hnave a couple extras laying around
im guessing i missed the first time and bent it like that and then never realized i only did bc i noticed one key was taller then the other lol
literally, just swapped to Akko Rose Reds and theyre great
What do you think about cs pink
ive had them for about a month and i like them theyre surprisingly cheap too
extremely light too
might want to try them

Sure
I have a Corsair K70 MK2 Low profile. It's pretty nice but the stabilized keys feel a little scratchy... Would lube fix it? What kind/brand should I use?
lube might help
i'm switching out of my k70 because of shit build quality altogether myself
What has a better price to performance ratio, the rk61 or the red dragon k552 ?
Rk61
Ok
Because gateron
Oh k
Should I use grease? What brand?
What switches
this is for stabs
Not just plain dielectric grease
not for switches
Cherry LP MX speed switches
Ok
I didnt need to onow that after all
Get a smol tube of dielectric greae
Amazon.com: Super Lube Grease Dielectric, Synthetic 3 Oz. Usda Authorized Tube: Automotive
This is a good one
I'll try it when I get a chance, thank you!
Np
Wait rk61 is optical
Isnt it
Get gk61
My brother’s old keyboard had them and I hate them. I’m swapping the switches
Also @elder folio do you want hotswap?
Well then akko world tour and kemove shadow are nice
Ok
Royal kludge is supposed to be good too
Np
Have fun
Id reccomend getting hotswap
Because then u can try a lot of switches
Me too, you might want different switches later on
And some times later ends up being 5 minutes after you put the keeb together >.<
Lot of the time yes
I think imma get a Keychron Q1 with reds, put the switches in my old keyboard, and get some new ones for my Q1
The Gateron blues I currently use are okay
I have a mizar Luna mz60 with gateron reds and I LOVE it I also lubed the stabs
And band aid modded it and I LOVE IT
so good
What does the band aid mod do? I know how to do it but like what benefit is there
Reduces stabilizer rattle
o
However my stabs don’t rattle anyways so there wasn’t much point for me
Did you lube them?
whats a good switch 3-pin for gaming/typing
up to choice, also 5-pin switches can be modded to fit in a 3-pin socket
well do you have any 5 pin suggestions
well, what do you want in a switch?
Tactile, linear, clicky?
What kind of sound do you want it to have? What kind of board are you building?
@deep quarry can you answer those questions for me?
tactile
im gonna building in a drop ctrl and im not lubing the switches
What is your budget for switches and how many do you need?
90 and no budget
@potent void Drop ctrl is TKL
Silent switches ?
I have the board
No budget huh?
What sound profile do you want @deep quarry
Oh alright.
thock or click?
also the drop CTRL NEEDS lubed stabilizers
you will not enjoy the board without switching out the stabilizers for something else
I'm saying this because I own the board
same im asking for a friend
Thock would be kind of like red switches with a deep sound and click is basically blue
sure
doesn't matter really
anything you say is good
@deep quarry ok, well my recommendation is the Azure Dragon switches, with Durock Plate-Mount stabilizers, use Kryotox GPL205G0 or dielectric grease on the stabilizers
Alternatively, Durock T1 switches are good as well
Boba u4t ?

ok
ill check that out
Been hearing a lot about Durock switches lately
This is my Drop CTRL build
are zilents good
This is mine
my friend doesnt care
Thats cute
thanks
Oh wow
then they're ok but would rather go for normal zealios
he says he doesnt like loud keyboards that much
ok
Maybe a boba silent switch then
ok
then zilents with foam dampener inside the board
ok
reds are the thock?
like gat reds?
reds don't thock
they don't thock
thock comes from plate material more than anything else
if you want thock then get a PC plate for your keyboard
I was trying to go with common switches so they can understand better
ooh ok
gmk laser cyberdeck with blocknet
mine can thock
I mounted my gmmk with my kailh silent box brown... will try that again this weekend
It’s not a custom keyboard but I like it
I did a koi pond at sunset theme
yeah my board is full custom -- lubed durock stabs, lubed durock L1 55g switches, and drop ctrl kit
please tell me you lubed that spacebar stabilizer
oh here's a sound test of my board btw
just keep adding more lube until it doesn't rattle
or holee mod and bandaid mod
then lube
Alright. Is it fine to do both? Lube and bandaid?
yes
bandaid doesn't affect lubing
also plumber's is easier than holee
I will change the gmmk stabs for some durock I bought some time ago
what does bandaid do?
it's for plate-mount, reduces the rattle between the plate and the stabilizer, and the pcb and the stabilizer
also @unkempt dome how to take out the stabs in the kemove snowfox
there's 2 kinds of bandaid mod: put tape or smth where the stab clips to the plate, and put bandaid on the pcb under the stabilizer
both approaches reduce stabilizer noise by preventing rattle or preventing the stem from hitting the pcb
I think so yes
@chrome raft you should figure out if they're plate-mount or screw-in then follow instructions for those stabilizers
it's a google question
I'll have to check
pls
I clipped my stabilizers also, is the bandaid mod still a good idea?
But then again my snowfox is not 5 pin compatible
I’m a noob to stab mods
tru
i'd do the bandaid mod, if you don't like it, you can undo it
Sounds good. And how bout the holee mod
i'd recommend plumber's tape over holee because plumber's is easier to do
just google a tutorial
The stabs on the keyboard were rattley af before btw
I didn't mod my stabs beyond lube bc my stabs are Durock, and therefore are very very good
I see alright. Well I don’t have access to that so I may just do the the holee mod
Durock stabs are also not that expensive ... not worth to skip on those
yeah just google a tutorial and follow it
$20 for durock stabs is worth it
they're the best stabilizers money can buy
Oh really?
Ooh I wanna get durocks too
Are they clip in?
plate mount? yes
Sorry plate mount
silent tactile or just not loud tactile switches that are good for gaming and typing
Wouldn’t linears be better for gaming
but most are bad for typing
It doesn't matter
lol linears are great for typing
which
I'm typing on linears right now, I love them so much
I'm using Durock L1 55g
Lubed, of course
Mx reds are my favorite switch I’ve used
we all know
I can't use linear at all
Durock switches outclass MX reds by a mile
Can't stand them
tactiles slow me down when I type
I’m sure they do I just haven’t had access to better
Everything does
and I type really fast, like 120WPM or faster
Dang
topre is really weird feeling though
Lmao
Ok
Are topre the circle ones
topre is a weird membrane switch
yes, my laptop keeb doess that
i like it tho
same, thats why im gonna get the cs pink
Durock L1 55g
Oh
Mhm
Is there a switch that’s like a silent version of kailh box whites
wdym by that?
like the tactility of box white but without the clickbar?
i mean kailh box white but less obnoxious
so more subtle click or no click?
subtle click
then i guess click jacket clickies?
outemu phoneix?
ok
Hey guys my dad is looking for a keyboard for his iPad what would you guys recommend for like under 60$ I know it’s not a lot but yeah
I would like it to be mechanical if possible
Check if keychron have something in that price range, they can support mac I think
^^ Keychron does support mac
You might have to check their older series however for cheaper prices. Their newer TKL are fresh so they cost more
Also dont get their in house switches optical switches
Quick update, I bought the AOC AGK700 after some thought and honestly I couldn't be happier with a keyboard
The only downside so far is the leather smell from the palmrest and the lack of manual but damn. This thing is quality
and it's heavy
Never thought a keyboard would weigh 1.6kg tbh
yeah my tkl is 1.6kg
I havent managed to figure out why this thing is pressable tho
It's the volume wheel and you can definetly press it
It has no function
macro probably
So any good cheap tactile switches I could recommend ... I thought about some akko but I don't know the naming ... the person is used to cherry mx brown so maybe something around that weight
I don't think he will intend to lube so akko ocean blue most likely ... are they easy to find in UK ?
Mice ... might get some for me
Any with heavier spring ? Like 65g and +
Nice to know ... will be great on the k552
Durock T1
No they're pretty cheap. At least in the US, I think.
I'll check that out
wow durock t1 are 1,20/switch
What?
Where? Because they're not supposed to be that expensive lol.
Closer to Cherry prices.
mechanical keyboard.com is the only place I found them and amazon.ca
