@potent void nah I'm good
What's a good Hotswappable TKL Keyboard with individual RGB. Under $100, if possible wireless feature is a plus
Do you have a link for me
but then its my first mech board so idk that much
you can either get the default, barebones or customize it
its like 109$
Does this include switches and everthing or is it just the keybaord
the 109$ includes gateron browns by default
but you can change it out when you click customize
you can change the keycaps to
theres also ansi and iso layout
np
right so the legends
the actual physical layout is the same
you can just replace the keycaps and reprogram the board?
yes, it's the same.
I personally couldn't find any caps with Nordic letters öäå for any reasonable price or which are not terrible.
So i just run ISO caps
do u guys prefer t1's, u4t thoccys, or kiwis?
u4t my favourite of those
Although i hate them all
since mx tactiles just feel so bad
favourite tactile is u4 boba silent
Get a topre and enjoy it, ditch the plebians who worry about when their 7v or whatever board that's currently hot will arrive so they can flip it
The best you can do is an inexpensive Chinese hotswap board and some Cherry Silent Reds or Kailh Silent Box Pinks. Both lubed (if possible) and with o-rings installed.
Or you can go the chiclet membrane route.
Or if you somehow find a good hotswap board for really cheap, go with MX Zilents.
But I doubt it, since the MX Zilent is a frankenswitch between a Cherry Silent stem and a Tealios housing.
Hexgears gk707/705 is pretty cheap iirc
If they can get it for under $50 then maybe.
Ah a keyboard channel
More of a general peripheral channel but yeah.
Just in case anyone happened to be curious.
Would recommend MechanicalKeyboards.com's selection as well as r/MechMarket for cheaper keyboards
What they do now
What is the best keyboard
PREFRENCE
Oh is that available for full sets only?
You know how it is
It's all about

But hey, if you want what many will consider the best of the best of the best, consider a Keycult Commission.
Minimums start at $2000 USD and can skyrocket from there. Tfue's No. 2 /65 cost him $3500.
In other words
Pony up.
Or find what's best for you.
Durock T1's
Huuuuge tactile bump, yet surprisingly round for its size.
I used to have a k95 platinum rgb with cherry browns but lately I've been using a sk65 (Chinese clone of the gk65 I believe) and its been pretty cool, uses gateron optical blues
Not quite a normal pick, but I just bought a System76 Launch keyboard. Unfortunately its set to deliver in July, but I'm excited for it.
Kalih Jade switches
Individually controlled LED's, and open source firmware
can i get my hands on that kb?
I think the OA's sound better but ink's will always have 2nd place for me haha
did anyone get a gmmk pro?
my buddy got his reservation cancelled even tho he placed an order within an hour of reservations opening :(
tbh it was just the keycaps not even switches
the new akko cs ocean blues
tbf they are very deep into reservations. Mine from January is only now coming in.
But still, that sucks man. :(
i figured that would be the case, both of us plan on getting them eventually it just sucked that glorious pulled the plug on his order, cancellation email and all
"in stock item"
!help
i accidentally lock my ctrl, windows and alt (left side only) keys
(reddragon Kumara rgb2), any ideas how to unlock it?
try function key + windows......... Just a random guess, as it worked in by older redgear keyboard
Nope it doesn't
have u written to product support?
no sir
i just twitted them.
Theres a shortcut on the keyboard to do it
Sounds like you have win lock on so try looking up shortcut keys for your keyboard
hyperx pudding keycaps good
very
its fine
typical pudding
I don’t like them too much
Yeh
I prefer regular old keycaps, like the ones the come on my keychron. They look better and don’t feel too weird
puddings are ugly
its the same as having 5 rgb led strips in your pc in a rainbow and all the fan slots filled up with argb fans
I don’t have any rgb, my pc is a black abyss
yes i have try all those
now my final conclusion is either the switches are broken or i could't find one the shortcut key
is there online manual for keyboards?
There should be
the softer doesn't run
its just says abnormal program termination
dont be talking bad about rainbow puke lmao
i like it in small doses
RGB gives me options.
One day I want some blue.
Another, some white.
Or a mix or purple and red.
I don't have rgb in my pc except on the motherboard and it's hard switch to off
Mouse and keyboard too
Rainbow puke is okay, excessive rainbow puke is not
The only thing in my pic that’s rainbow puke is my ram, keeb, and mouse
-pc
Same for me, I just don't like the ones with led strips everywhere set to max brightness
I might get a strip for the top of the case just for white
So you can see my components
What’s that nice one with the really good diffuser that Linus used in his rgb pc build
Should I do Durock Yellows for my build?
why not?
like if the switch feels too light, spring swap it
Massdrop CTRL barebones, with Durock Clear Yellows, and the phelicia keycaps
Oooo
But expensive
I’ll stick with what I’m thinking of
I do really like light linear switches which is why yellow
I use Cherry MX Reds now and they’re about 50g so
reviews are positive so far
Alr
I think I’ll be fine with the Durock, just gotta make sure I trim them properly so they become 3 pin
👍

@ionic briar do you know where to buy pheilcia keycaps?
their website isn't working rn

@junior lodge ever purchased anything from primeabgb ?
My friend has and it's quite reliable, what you planning to buy?
keyboards really cheap there

lot of options there in prime abgb
I don't know when they are going to have it in stock
look ik prime abgb is reliable but idk why i am not feeling good about it
especially when its a Indian thing

Nah it's a reliable site
My friend had ordered 3060Ti from there
Got on the same day
India ofcourse
such good options there

sorry , i tried to ask "city" but my fucked up English patronised it
Pune ?
Lol
ah , then makes sense
cant expect anything in Kolkata
i will never buy anything from MD and most of the things are out of stock in Vedant
But they do deliver there
You can call and ask
About your product
MD is a scam
Biggest scalpers too
Hey
i said i will not buy from there cause i used to work there

Well , lemme contact primeabgb support and ask them
Really?
Ah! Just call and ask them
Sometimes they do screw up in orders
I have seen posts on reddit
anyone know of any good temporary keyboards
Currently looking for a nice mechanical keyboard, I think I quite like the Ducky One 2 RGB (full size) but I gotta wait a month for my switch tester to arrive (living in Europe).
cheapest one on amazon
dont say that
i bought a reddragon k512 rgb looking for a good cheap temporary keyboard
and i lost everything
i meant like one of those cheap logitech boards, membrane ones
untill you get a good mech
you save money
and its durable
look in cheap ones , only available globally ones are corsair k55 rgb and a logitech g213
none of them are any good
Logitech g213
i have a k55 its good
its alright
I mean, if they work for someone. Let them be happy with it. @austere jacinth
hey hey , i didnt mean any offence
dont take seriously
Aight :)
Logitech K120. The budget office keyboard.
It works. It just works. Had mine for around four or so years.
What’s the difference between the akko rose reds and the matcha greens and which one is better?
rose red has lighter spring and shorter total travel distance, and higher actuation point
the better switch is up to your preference
So prob the rose reds cuz they go faster
by like 0.4mm
which is not noticeable
and then other things up the chain will add up latency
like your keyboard's controller, the usb controller in your computer and your network
@foggy cliff
?
As u can tell I don’t know anything about keyboards
So the matcha greens will last longer
nope
both last the same according to the spec sheet
what i wanna said is that dont choose your switch based on which one is faster
Ok
and yea
real life life span depends on your usage and care to it
Unless you have a very light touch, that is. Or you want the least latency possible.
What if I take the bottem houseing of a brown and put it onto a rose red what would that do to it
affect the smoothness of the switch
and thats it
Make it less smooth?
depends
either less smooth or more smooth
You can try but you're buying two sets of switches, which will be expensive.
But it's up to you.
akko switches are pretty cheap tbh
10 usd for 45 switch
very cheap.
dang
Mua switch cherry và dùng keycap Akko

I need to build a board eventually
But i cant give up my 24 f keys and my 10 macro keys
Buy a couple of QMK/VIA keypads or Streamdecks and remap them.
Mehh i like my terminal ibm board tho
battleship
sheeesh
im looking for a keyboard for gaming thats like 100 to 130$
What do you need in a keyboard?
just for gaming really
Which is a very, very, very broad statement.
I could recommend a $15 K120 or a $70 RK84 for all I know and they would work fine.
There is no "minimum requirement" for gaming keyboards except the fact that they have to work.
Even actuation distance is preferential among FPS players.
yea i guess your right i just want fast and easy clicks
whats your previous keyboard?
this is my first so im going in blind
whta about the apex pro tkl?
build quality is not as good as the leopold stuff
varmillo va87 is another fine option
or leopold fc750r
@past lantern
im looking at it rn
Buy Leopold FC750R PD Charcoal 87Keys High-End Mechanical Keyobard (Blue): Keyboards - Amazon.com ✓ FREE DELIVERY possible on eligible purchases
this?
yea
they are all cherry mx if youre wondering
Get a gmmk
Artifact Bloom Keycaps, yeah or nah?
Do you like them?
hello, is this the right channel to discuss about mice ?
ye
Then you should consider buying them. Keycaps are mostly about preference, as with most keyboard-related stuff.

However there are still issues sometimes with keycaps and keyboards
hence why I'm asking
if it's a shit set (like cause of blurry printing or smth) I wanna know
Then you should look up what printing methods they use, like UV etching or dye-sub.
are gaming mice worth it? Currently have the legion m500, and I like the RGB tbh, but Im having double click issues
Because of how saturated the gaming mice market is, there is no way to answer that.
You just have to research each mice individually.
for headsets, I've been told that a $20 headset could sound better than a $100 gaming headset
so I was just wondering if it is the same for mice
Also, that doesn't mean there's no use for a $100+ headset.
Maybe there's features or quality attributes people will like on that headset.
Im currently looking at Corsairs Dark Pro RGB wireless
have anyone tried it, or researched about it ?
the problem is that you're looking at gaming headsets
$100 audiophile headsets will absolutely sound better than anything at the $20 price class
Again, gotta do your research.
audio is all subjective tho
My HD 6xx do sound better than anything I've heard before though, although gotta say I've only used budget sony headphones and dirty buds before.
Massdrop x sennheiser pc37x?
And that's fine. Go ahead and enjoy it. Really.
That and the PC38X. Really nice for gaming headsets.
@glad blade Don't buy the Corsair Dark Pro RGB Wireless
Get the PC37X instead, and a Schiit Fulla maybe
JDS Labs has some great options too
but people tend to prefer the build quality of Schiit
customer support of JDS Labs was really quick and nice, which I liked. And they have software updates for the Atom DAC.
Schiit products feel so solid
I have an Asgard, feels like a brick
10 pounds of aluminum
I have the atom stack myself, works great. The volume knob on the amp is quite cheap though, especially when compared to the knobs of their more expensive DACs.
The front, top, and bottom of the Asgard is covered in a 0.5cm thick sheet of aluminum
the other sides are also made of aluminum but not as thick
volume knob is solid aluminum too
It's not always smooth (probably needs some lube) but holy fuck the quality in this thing
i could probably shoot it with a gun and it would barely dent
haha
Some people modify their atom dac & amp
with custom cases
But if you live in the US, go with the Schiit option unless you want one of the features of the atom dac.
why not? got any wireless mouse recommendations ?
Oh that’s a mouse? Sorry I thought it was a headset
My bad
no xD
Yeah i was gonna say that gaming headsets are generally bad-sounding
wireless mouse ... glorious model o, gpro wireless, g305, razer orochi v2 ... most likely others will have some more suggestions, those are just the ones I'm thinking about on the top of my head.
then theres the lcd-gx
which on the surface looks like lcd-x with a in line mic
boom, gaming headset
Keyboards turned into audio hmmm?
being a mechanical keyboard enthusiast is expensive
nice.
no
cause vaseline is petroleum based, it will reacts with thermoplastic and start dissolving the plastic
and id say no
cause its not gonna be inconsistent
and it takes a long time for the solvent to dry properly to not cause any issues
you also have to buy the right kind of lube
or else the vaseline problem happens
is silicone based lube ok
which one?
how does it matter arent they all the same
also this is just a question, in not going to do it but in theory could you use vaginal lubricant
technically iirc they are fine
but thickness is a problem
it's water based and it dries quite fast ... it will form a thick gunk that will most likely prevent the movement of the switch
no i ment silicone based lobe
lmao kk
do blue switches benifit from lubing?
i have cherry blues theyr a little scratchy
but according to glarses theyr supposed to be?
no if you lube blue most likely they won't click anymore ...
also ... cherry ... yes they are scratchy
but I think their blue is way better than their browns
way less scratchy
Heyah, I'm kind of new to mech switches, as I have been using kailh blues for like 5 years. I got recommended BOX Thick Jade switches but I also found Box Thick Navy switches and I have no clue what the difference is. I have also only found 1 site where they sell a 100% keyboard with jade switches, any recommendations for NL or EU?
one is lighter than the other respectively
Alright I'll look that up and stick to the one closest too the old blue switches
Shipping is just stupid expensive on mechanicalkeyboards.com to the netherlands
I'll go for jades than, they seem to be almost the same weight for pressing as the old blues I have
yes I noticed
And I can't solder
I think I'll like the bump being heavier, I can barely feel the bumps on my old blue switches no more and I miss it
I guess so
Why are these all so expensive
My old kailh blue 100% keyboard was 70 bucks
And the only box jades keyboard that I can find costs 200 bucks incl shipping
alright I'll look into that
why is it not the greatest?
lol that doesn't sound like a good idea at all?
So what would be optimal? What if I wait another month and have like 300 bucks to spend.
No can't do, I mainly use it for coding and I need my delete, home, end, pg up, pg down on the regular spots
I get that people like small keyboards, but thats not for me
I was looking at Ducky One 2 Double Shot Kailh Box Thick Jades
Its pre-build
Thats the 200 dollar one incl shipping
That is good to know
It also has the keyboard layout I'm used to
anything i should look out for like double shot pbt or somethihng
they're all advertised as doubleshot pbt because they all come from the same OEM afaik
okay, thanks
i love my keyboard guys
what keyboard is that?
ouch, id contact razer support for that
its a razer keyboard, its using razer greens
ya i see that, was just wondering which model
cant see the other half of the keyboard, but probably a blackwidow 3
razer sucks, build your own keebs peeps
razer overpriced, but the keyboards are decent. i say hit a sale if you go razer and you'll get your moneys worth
Not even
Right now with the popularity of custom keebs, you can build a decent keyboard for the same price as a razer keeb with better everything lol
this is why i said hit a sale
no more warranty
blackwidow v2
Yeah may as well get a nice pre-built hotswap at that point. :(
seriously, at least you get user flexibility and potential repairs in the future
People often think like, i need x thing now! but i only have y money so ill skimp
that only gets you chinese crap
ofc you can do the soldering path
but its like
polishing a turd
there are good prebuilts tho
the likes of leopold, varmillo and whatnot
i wouldnt buy a razer keeb if my life depended on it
I seen frowless 1800 be referred to as compact 1800 too
have you ever seen a brass mech
Like all brass?
like only the body
Mojo60 brass
I used to know a guy who bought a full brass keyboard
nicely polished
can't remember what it was called but it was the fucking dumbest thing i'd ever seen for sure
what whyy
clout
fingerprint magnet?
basically
i'm sure he hasn't used it for more than 10 hours ever since i first saw it in his room like 4 years ago
was it xpensiv
must have cost atleast 500 freedom eagels
it was close to 1k iirc
what the fuck oh my god bruh 1k for a kb on way
yes way and stop pinging me iydm
Yeesh the K92
Just wait until you hear about Keycult commissions.
people who commission keycult have way too much money on their hands
2.7k LUL
for just a brass weighted tkl
bro wtf im pretty shuer you can get a used car for that much
ok like a fkin house
That's nothing when you're buying a good audio setup ;p
But I do not have that much money to spend, so I'm happy with my HD 6xx :)
you can get a $50 setup to sound just as good as a $12000 one
I don't think so.
normal room with some nc foam works, provided theres no one else in the house
ik
you can easily have endgame in keyboards for 1k
yess
wtf is this non sense
''you can get a 970 just as good as a 3090''
r/audiophile won't agree with a 50$ setup sounding just as good as a 12k$ setup.
we talking about huge price diff in technology not some breads
ahh alright, I have seen the graphs.
no i meant mics not headphones
ok no fkin way 50 dollar spkers gonna sound as good as 12000 dollar ones wtf
ye
I was talking about this graph
But that was not the case this time, just a misunderstanding.
They are, but they are typically an Australian proxy for US vendors like NovelKeys or Omnitype.
I’d try NovelKeys first
Maybe to the layman, sure.
i was talking abt mics
Same thing there.
To people who are passionate about audio recording (or any hobby for that matter), every last percentage point of improvement, to them and their trained ears, matters.
Really, to go any further with pricing means gold-plating your recording equipment and encrusting them with diamonds.
yea i agree and shure to a passionate audiophile the difference is going to be noticable
but for daily use theres not much diff.
Again
To the layman, it won't make any difference, regardless of how often they use their stuff.
To the people who actually care, it will. And again, regardless of how often they use it.
hmm touche
guys when can I expect the gmmk pro to ship if i "reserve" one rn
ive heard like half a year i think
@main narwhal silent alpacas
wanna put em in the gmmk pro or something similar if you guys have suggestions
A long time lol
Wait until launch.
They're doing their flex batch at the moment and mine took 5 months to even start shipping.
they say one their website that flex batch would ship until june
so If order I should get one in June right?
You don't know if you'll be part of that flex batch or the launch batch.
They're probably ramping up production now to accommodate launch orders.
corsair strafe with cherry mx silent
Aight.
anyone have any reccomendations on lowish profile linear keyboards (preferably hotswap)
wired/ wireless too
like low profile body not low profile switches
@tight moon u have any reccomendations
do you have a budget in mind
wired and wireless or wired/wireless
both wired and bluetooth
like i can connect my phone to it but then go back to using it on my pc
layout?
tkl
is rgb important for you
kinda
is 75% ok
yes
switch?
ok
84 freedom coins, red optical switches, hot swappable, with rgb backlight, ultra slim
BUT it comes with low profile switches(hotswappable tho)
very
can i have a keeb with not low profile
yea thats what
like any regular keeb
oh did i mention its wireless
not low profile switches
hmmm im sorry buy i dont know ant that have only a slim body and regular hotswappable switches
dosent have to be hoswap
im still dry sorry
but just in case
check it out it cant hurt
Keychron K3 Wireless Mechanical Keyboard. Compact 75% Layout. Ultra-slim. Wireless Bluetooth 5.1 or Wired type-C mode. Users can hot swap every switch in seconds with the Optical switch hot-swappable version. Works with Mac, Windows, iOS, Android, Linux. Low profile Optical or Gateron Switches. Connect up to 3 devices.
its a great deal
theyr for industrial use
orange are like browns
it has a very heavy keypress for using in industrial areas
white?
wit gloves on
nvm
white switches go in the spacebar of black switch keybaords
and can you put regular optical switches in this keeb
which one
just regular profile
its not low profile
yea oh well
hmm i think reds or browns are better but if you like the feel of yellows then its fine
then there are moar better options
wireless 2.4 ghz if its bt stay away
wait ur getting 2?
100 for it and some extra keycaps and it
Keychron K8 Wireless Mechanical Keyboard. Tenkeyless Layout. Wireless or Wired. and users can hot swap every switch in seconds with the hot-swappable version. Compatible with Mac, Windows, iOS, Android, Linux. Keychron Optical or Gateron Switches. Connect up to 3 devices. 15+ RGB Backlight
same price
dont like those caps
but why do you not like snowfox
its not that i dont, its just that ive used keychron for like 4 years now and its very reliable and works like a charm
ive never heard of snowfox b4 so i dont feel comfortable recommending it
again, ive never used it, so i have no idea im shure its good
well thanks for your help
yea bt 5.1
the k8?
yea
before you do that, go to keychron.com and see all the options, 99 is theyr most expensive they start from 50 maybe youll like another one?
nah i dont want another cheap keeb
do it
Amazon.com: Keychron K8 Tenkeyless Wireless Mechanical Keyboard for Mac, Bluetooth RGB Backlight Multitasking Type-C Wired Gaming Keyboard for Windows with Gateron Red Switch, Aluminum Frame: Computers & Accessories
I have it and it's a really nice board
how tall is it
it's taller than my gmmk and taller than my durgod fusion ...
I would have to take picture of it
is it annoyingly all?
Not at all
The thing I don't like about it is that I need the stock keycaps to be able to use the function row
why
Cause I have a terrible memory
if you buy it from the keychron website you can choose
If you memorize where all the layered key steps you don't need the stock keycaps ...
ok ok if you do, tell me how it is maybe ill try it too
ok
The rgb is let's say quite pastel ...
And I haven't found out how to put a single color other than red in hardware mode
can you just make it have rainbow wave
it's a matter of preference... I like solid single color more
I'll have to check about rainbow wave
does it just color shift
I'm not really into rgb ... I can tell you that the snowfox rgb outclass the Anne pro 2 rgb and by far
I think Cherry makes some low-profile switches.
Not sure where to get slim keycaps though.
You can get some dsa profile keycaps ... they are quite slim and non sculpted
Also for me gateron yellow > cherry red
when you say gat you mean gateron rt?
Anne pro 2 is really subpar compared to the snowfox imo
Also I took some measurement
Front
Front keycaps height
Back feet down
Back feet up
@chrome raft
ok i might get it
Also if you want it in black the look for the kemove shadow
its confusing
What is confusing?
Yes it does
could get durock silent linears instead
which are in stock at Divinkey, who ship out the west coast
have you had a good experience buying from divinikey @main narwhal ?
Im looking to buy switches and some lube from them and like that they offer free shipping to me on orders of $100 or more
You live in the US?
yeah
east/west?
east
1up has switches and lube and they ship out of New York
stabs too?
i usually get stabs on amazon lol
there's a vendor on there that sells durock v2s
but yeah, they carry stabs
they carry a lot of everything
really big east coast vendor
Parts, Tools and Lube for working on, improving, or building, your own mechanical keyboard from 1upkeyboards.
thanks for the tip but looks their prices arent as good, and I dont mind waiting for shipping
flashquark is also NY based but I don't think they have lube
Wondering if the G915 Logitech TKL is worth buying at 170? If not, what would you recommend?
oh yeah, Prevail Key Company is east coast too, they are in Florida
have you tried choc low profile switches before?
Nope
the G915 uses them, and they feel pretty different from standard keyboard switches
low profile, low travel switches, feels kind of like a laptop keyboard
Oh! I’ m actually comfortable with laptop switches tho’
Might be best if you could find something like a best buy or a similar store where you can put your hands on some of those switches first
but yeah, if you like laptop switches you might like chocs
Is it really that different? Or would I get used to it in a couple of days?
pretty much just feels like a laptop keyboard to me 😛
Don't hate me lol I just bought a steelseries apex 3 for my first pc keyboard lol.
\o/
It's better
Common argument by ANSI cucks
It's much better
best lube for gat reds?
thanks
itsnt that rubber dome?
anny reccomendations for a 60% keyboard
the keymove shadow
shit i mean wristrest
sry
i actually like the gmmk foam ones
they are pretty stiff but still pliable
so it isn't that bad for your wrists
i usually get used ones from amazon warehouse lol
Amazon.com: Glorious Gaming Wrist Pad/Rest - Compact - Black - Mechanical Keyboards, Stitched Edges, Ergonomic | 12x4 inches | 25mm/1in Thick (GWR-75) Compact (Black): Computers & Accessories
ok thx
kemove shadow ordered
What keycaps do you guys recommend for tkl keybaords?
whats your budget?
For the keycaps only, it'll be below $40
drop artifact bloom?
It's not available at my region
Do you have other recommendations
where are you from?
Malaysia, SEA
I use lazada.com.my to search for my keycaps cuz that's our local online shop
well thats gonna be hard
like pudding keycaps?
yea those thing
Oh, which brand sells good quality of pudding keycaps?
uhhh
hyperx?
they're all the same
You know how it is
It's all about

Coworker tried to build a keyboard and now wants me to fix it.
anyone have a great recommends to shop keyboard parts. I've been looking into giving it a shot
I like the feel of cherry browns
currently have a logitech pro tkls
WTF is all over that PCB, flux?
should i lube my gat reds, id have a hard time getting to be able to buy the lube
im 14 and parents go brrrrrrr
Try it if you want, I don’t believe lube is that expensive anyways
but the problem is my parents just sppent 180 on me soooo
do chores for more money?
is it really that much of an improvement for gaming
i have the money but they want me to save it
i'm looking to do my first build
same but i just got a kemove shadow
is that a make and model?
yes
Amazon.com: KEMOVE Shadow Wireless 60% Mechanical Gaming Keyboard, Bluetooth 5.1 Hot Swappable Keyboard RGB Backlit PBT Keycaps Full Keys Programmable (Gateron Red Switch): Computers & Accessories
needed the bt
that looks kinda sick ngl
so i can talk from my phone
my friends say its nice
but idk if i need to lube or not
maybe to make things more smooth
imma ask my friend with gat reds if he lubed his brb
yea
From the looks of it you can get super lube for $10 or less
do you have good recommend on a website I can purchase keyboard parts
Or krytox 205 for $22
I’m checking Amazon but some other people might know
Uhh lemme ask someone
@hasty saffron hey
You shouldn’t tell people their stuff is bad after they own it
Before they buy it, sure, after, don’t
But I suppose those mods will help make it better if you want
Its way better than k552 with blues
Oh really?
Great compared to a reddragon
And better than anne pro 2
85
For the shadow
My friends anne pro 2 is 100
Thats for the yellow
im not gonna lube the switches
that will spoil me
this will spoil me
ill be on my keeb on my phone lmao
Yes totally
Imo yes totally
My Anne pro 2 was 40 CAD used
The snowfox 80 cad used with some kailh box burnt orange in it
My k552 40 cad brand new with the outemu blue in it
Durgod fusion 90 cad with cherry brown in it ... I wish it was hot swappable so I could put some decent switches in there
Wire balancing?
I'm looking for a heavy and smooth tactile switch to pair with the YMDK 64, does anyone have any recommendations? I was thinking of the Durock T1 tactile switches with the smokey housing but I'm curious if anyone else has any thoughts
I have a T1 and even when lubed the tactile bump is massive.
Especially beside a Cherry Brown.
ok so maybe not those 😅 I have cherry browns now and i'm looking for smth less scratchy
So you're looking for a linear?
I'm considering going with linears, like a black switch but I really like the tactiles I have now
man im getting good at tpying
maybe, I don't like the feel of fully linear switches, I can't stand speeds or reds
I mean the T1 has a round tactile bump if that's what you're concerned about. It's just huge.
fair
I am also prioritizing maybe a keyboard that's less loud then the one I have now
so if such things exist as silent blacks I would consider those, my priorities are primarily that they're smooth and heavy
Cherry Blacks are also linear. Just heavier.
I figured, I've never really tried them but I sort of assumed the weight would offset what I dislike about reds
the only switches I've had on keyboards I've owned are cherry browns and alps whites
There's also the Drop Halo Clear's. The bump is more gradual but you'll still feel it. Haven't tried it lubed though.
interesting
I wish I could get topre switches those are exactly what I'm looking for, the purple ones
Understandable.
I wish there was just a survery I could take where I'd be able to rank the qualities I want in a switch and then it would reccomend based on my priorities
i wish there was a switch all people love
they're called mx browns ever heard of them /j
well with patience and modification you can take any switch apart and give it the properties you want
yea
I prefer the higher actuation but I'd prefer a less heavy bottom out
smth like my alps switches where there was hardly any space between actuation and bottom out
that did make the typing experience semi obnoxious though
Actuation and bottom out can be adjusted with spring swaps, at least.
But yeah.
I don't have any other recommendations.
I'm a little bit of a, complete novice this is my first custom board so I'm not even planning on lubing switches
I'll keep looking but I'll keep in mind the Halo Clears and the blacks
ty for all of your help
Kailh silent box brown
It would be nice if Corsair did a K95 redux that comes with their new OPX switches and a standard-size bottom row. I don't much care for the K100
I'll give those a quick google
I like the silent tactile approach but I wish they were
heavier
They feel heavy enough for me ... more than the kailh box white but less that the kailh box navy
I had alps whites which were 66g and I'm looking for smth around that weight
Epic gamer keyboards?
Maybe.
Long ass loading times for a Minecraft Bedrock Realm?
Happening right now.
LTTStore.com?
Gotta buy that underwear 5-pack.
Hotel? Trivago.
Down stroke and up stroke I would guess
There is a large switch tester.
For like, I think $70 USD?
although I have no clue how they feel vs cherry browns
Which brown are you comparing to ?
cherry
a little bit more than I'd like to spend
so then are kalih silent browns smooth tactiles?
Fair enough. If you're really unsure of what switch you want to get though it's your best option.
They are smoother than cherry brown
ok
I mean you're considering Alps switches so that already makes you a little outside of that IMHO
130 Switches Tester Spec Total 130 switches(pls check switches type as the following pics) With Acrylic Base With Blank Keycaps(Romer-G Switch have no keycap) The switches are detachable and interchangeable from the acrylic base. Some switches may be disassembly parts, such as cherry old brown and old blue..... Pls, pa
There's smaller versions in that site as well.
Well you know the kailh silent box brown exist ... they are the most tactile and sharpest I have so far ... as for smoothness they are better than the cherry I had and also the outemu I had ...
flashquark sells switch singles
so you can buy a sampler of switches they have in stock and jam them into a tester
tho a switch tester will not be a repensatitive of your typing experience
ye
Sound-wise, anyway.
And maybe in regards to feel because you won't feel the same kind or quantity of deck flex but that's less important.
something I had bulit for my birthday back on April 3rd. Pcb is a DZ60.
kailh box pinks btw. I was recommended them in multiple keyboard discords after asking about a happy medium between box jades and box whites
also inb4 "what the hell is that layout" to which the answer is "dvorak"
tbh colemak is actually better than dvorak but I got into dvorak first and I'm comfortable with it
I would love to get into alternate keyboard layouts but the prospect of retraining my fingers to get used to it only to end up having to use a QWERTY board in a pinch — since everyone uses it — kinda puts me off.
yo guys DROP Ctrl Barebones or gmmk pro?
gmmk pro hands down
If i "reserve" a gmmk pro rn how long until I can have it in my hands
Just wait until it launches, honestly.
oh yeah cherry reds with sand in them
so looking to get a new mouse and keyboard any good suggestions for them? below 200$
thinking of getting the 506 hero wired mouse
for keyboard id like mechanical. RGB. and meadia keys. (volume. pause. play)
how much for the keyboard
what is your favorite layout, what type of switch do you prefer?
below 200$ and it better be a damn fine one to be anywhere NEAR that. my current one cost me 40$ with mouse XD
Us?
idk to be honest i just like the sound they make and the RGB
Does anyone have recommendations for 65% keyboards under 150 usd?
chicony kb-9810
$200 with both the keyboard and mouse or separate?
just for the keyboard
Could go for the GMMK or even a nice polycarbonate barebones from Novelkeys or KBDFans.
I think the NK65 Entry Edition fits.
Along with keycaps and switches.
I was not expecting that but I was expecting the unexpected
G512 Linear GX-RED (Logitech switches)
womier k66
leopold fc660m should be under the cap too
Several of those solders look probably-ok.
ThinkPad keyboard is the best keyboard for typing. 😎
lubing won't do anything for gaming tbh
it's to improve the feel
Dude I swear this is only for crumbs
I dont eat over my keys
and there is still stuff
you might even notice that they'll feel a little bit more sluggish, if that makes sense
depends on the lube used
id described the feel of lubed switches compare to stock is it feels like there is less resistance when you push the stem down
lol
oil lubes will feel slippery smooth while grease will feel creamy smooth
Yes those indeed
I like that layout kind of iso but with the big left shift ... really nice board
so do I
I want to get a diff keyboard tho
Because i kinda dislike mine
since i started to hear the spring
idk how to describe it
spring ping?
Full review: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w7GTdk8CFyk
People need to know how bad these speed switches sound in reality, since I believe all paid reviews remove this in post-production. It can't be a bad assemble for ALL buttons on the keyboard.
This keyboard makes a ringing springy sound each time you press a key. Cherry MX Speed switches. ...
like this
just louder
a bit
yea spring ping
