Well actually Logitech makes decent keyboards
Keychron does too
Uhh
Those are really some of the best ones I know
Some other people know more then me
oh alright, what about ducky?
I think they’re okay?
Their older boards were built like tanks
Dunno if it's the still the same after the tfue thing
Do you have any recommendations for boards under $150
No sorry
Anyone else can recommend me a keybaord below $150
RK84?
Would you recommend to get handrest for my keybaord?
A wrist rest? Pretty much always.
Unless you get a really thin keyboard but not a lot of people would really recommend one.
Really the only reason to not get a wrist rest is because you don't have space.
which ones do you use
I don't have one yet and that's because I use towels for the time being lol. And that I'm using a keyboard that's somewhat slim.
But I will get one once I get my GMMK Pro.
Because that thing is much thicker than a K120.
Any recommendations on wrist rest?
Also I don't see the Rk84 available in my country sadly
u should build your own
im in the process of one
How do I do that? And is it much cheaper?
uhhhh no LOL but to me its much better imo @violet gale
like alot better
u get alot more out of your money if you build yours
theres a whole community behind building mechanical keyboards
and no theres not just "red, blue, brown switches only"
theres like thousands of different ones
like for me i ordered a gmmk pro
i have my switches and my stabilizers ready so i can put them in
its really cool
where do find the parts and all
then maybe aI can look it up
Any recommendations on the parts as well
you should always do your research, and i dont since its all your taste
that is what i cant control
what u can control is what u want
theres alot
jsut google custom keyboard from maybe taehatypes @violet gale
on youtube
he has some good keyboards he built
they sound so good
the quality is

if my budget below $150 would that still aply
I would say 80% keyboard
So like those tournament edition keyboards
I'm also looking for one that has custom RGB lights
do you want loud switches or do you want quiet switches @violet gale
i would highly highly recommend
I want quiet switches
Which are like the orange switches on razer keyboards
Which ones are like popular
You could give me some choices to pick
i wouldnt personally go for whats "popular" LOL
I just want it to be cheap and not spend too much
uhhh i would say black inks, novel key creams, tealios, or gateron milky yellows
i think ur best bet rn
since ur in a money tight situations
probably gateron milky yellows
let me find you a board rq
Alright thank you
GMMK 60% opinions anyone?
about to buy, but i just wanna check real quick that nobody has had any major problems with theirs
Is this silent and tactile
i would highly recommend you lubing and filming your switches
it took me 3 days to finish them
I saw it being linear
ur best bet woudl probably be zilients if you want them
One order = 10x switches. All Zilent V2s have reduced wobble that's less than Holy Pandas, while managing to be even more tactile with a bigger, smoother bump as well. Bump starts at the very top of the keypress. Voted Best modern keyboard or company - Deskthority Awards 2016 "I can assure you that Zealios are the way
Are the boards the most expensive part of the keybaord
no
LOL
well it really depends
honestly
what keycaps u want
mine were about 100
tho u can find some
fro alot cheaper
i mean alot
morelike 30 or 40
Boards doesn't rly matter right
Since I'll only be typing with the keycaps and switches AHHA
just make sure that its hotswappable
and ur fine
and its the color and features u want
well for me i care since i love keyboards
What do you mean by features
well like how it looks
yeah and prices vary alot on what u want
Oh I see
How many parts are there in a keyboard that I hgave to buy
Like the board, switches, keycaps
board switches and keycaps
yep thats all
unless if you wanna lube them and film them
i would recommend them very much but
if youre tight on budget i wouldnt push it
and also when you buy the switches
remember 1 order is 10 switches, you need about 90 switches
so u need to place more than one order
and prices vary
thats why i keep repeating do research before you buy anything
cuz maybe youll like this or that more
and you dont want buyers remorse
yup that's true
Thanks for letting me know
yep
This is quite costly right
yeah it is
Is there a cheap version of it
well there are many variants of different silent tactile switches
i mean alot
there are some cheaper options
LIke I would liek the silent and tactile feeling of it
but u would have to experiment with them
could you let me know which switches are they
Then I'll take a look
yep
To celebrate being an Official Vendor, Gazzew has allowed RingerKeys to sell a batch of his switches to the community. RingerKeys is grateful for the opportunity to get these great switches to our community. I couldn't find one poor review of these great switches. Check out what theremingoat had to say. Read more de
I was thinking of like something lesser than $0.24 per switch
honestly if this is a little still too much
i think
this is perfect
for you
i really like ducky
you cant get a good tactile mx switch for less than 50c each even
i use 55g topre
i feel like mx linears are at a wall now
nothing left to do but milk them
Oh I see
How's the switches and keycaps on this?
well u get some options u can look at them
And is this hotswap keyboard?
Oh I see
Oh I see
Which switches are the ones I'm looking for
well which one do u want
theres alot
just pick one
i think ur best one that would fit you"silent but tactile"
i think the box pink siletns
silents shold do
should
what category do mx browns come in
theyre scratchy linears with extra resistance in the middle
also box tactiles develop a clicking after some time due to the lube wearing off
Is there no silent but tactile switches
For like the ducky
box jades i had before
were poggers
i dont think so
Oh I see
If it's tactile would it be very loud
anything that doesnt have silencing will be loud
any suggestions for something with a bump and just a little sound
Damn I'm trying to find a tactile but silent one. Razer has those orange switches that I like
Any recommendations
you're not going to find any silent tactiles for 25 cents each
Does keycaps or switches cost more genrally
if you want good switches yes
keycaps can be ok
they only get expensive if you want to buy stuff like mt3, sa and gmk.
i got some gat milky yellows for like 10c each and ive never thought of needing to upgrade from them
granted i did cherry pick and lube them
epbt?
wow 1up is still a thing
yeah lmfao
Let's say I have a $100 budget
i thought for how much they marked up things they wouldnt have lasted very long
how would you want me to split it with my switches, keycaps and baord
you're not going to be able to build a custom for a 100 bucks
^
i say just buy a second hand leopold or something
What about $125
no
Oh I see
for 150 you can buy a kbd67 lite with some fairly nice switches
but the lite is going to be flipped to shit because thats just how the hobby is
a second hand prebuilt if you want a good one
What are some good second hand prebuilt
Ducky is quite popular here I saw
i would honestly still save up
old duckys
I honestly don't mind second hand keybaords
Are duckies more expensive than leopold and filco
the newer ones are yea because of tfue
ive only owned one ducky
and i got that one second hand for 8 bucks
very well built
old model though
any suggestions for websites that sell switches
Could you recommend me some duckies and leaopords and filcos
im not familiar enough with them sorry
i do know that the leopold "pd" boards have doubleshot pbt keycaps
so look out for those if you can
Whar does doubleshot mean
2 layers i think
You too?
Dang
one for the outer part and one for the inner
Been waiting since my brother reserved it for my birthday in January. Ah well.
Orders started in I think November.
Hopefully the flex batch I'm in supports QMK out of the box.
Thanks chip shortage.
i was able to get a 3070 fe for 800
i have my pc fully finished
now just my keyboard
all i need
PLEASE
how did you manage that
doubleshot keycaps use 2 different colors of plastic to create the keycap
the legends cannot be worn off
What is that good
i went on facebook and looked around
if used enough you will shine the keycaps due to wear and tear
the guy was asking for 1000
talked to him
got him to lower to 800
drove 2 hours
but the legend will not be damaged
my 3080 pre order was cancelled cus asus stoped making the cheaper tuff non oc model
wut the
Guys is ASUS TUF K3 worth it?
i think
if you dont have lot of covid in your area
go to local store
and check keyboards there
uh if i spilled water on my keyboard and just let it dry like 2 mins and plugged it back in the pc and now it doesnt work, i just want to know if waiting for it to dry can still fix it or is it completely dead? keyboard is g512 logitech
Gotta wait more than 2 minutes.
But you've used it before it dried so you're running the risk of having it short-circuited.
And there, you have a dead board.
Wait for like 30-60 minutes and try again.
Hey yall, any recommendations for a solid TKL keyboard under $130 with brown switches and clean keycaps
Im really confused because I look around online and I cant really find many options that have what im looking for, then I go into discords and they tell me to stay away from any known brands lmao
Is Logitech G402 Hyper Fury Mouse still a best by for $34?
I have experience with the RK84 so see if you can get that or another Royal Kludge keyboard. Just be aware that the software is ass.
Those look nice but I mean, I would like to see if anyone has some suggestions a bit higher in price if it means getting something better
thank you for the recommendation though
Corsair Keyboards are nice too
hi
its been i think 3 hours already since i last plugged it, i plugged it in rn and it still doesnt work or recognized by my pc. i think its dead or should i wait again?
Probably dead. You can open it up to see what's wrong but otherwise, yeah.
there's a broken switch on my mech keyboard, is there a way to fix it or should i save up to buy a new one?
it's a g910
and it's Y, so it's pretty important
especially considering that I'm in konsole half the time
Can you describe the damage?
just doesn't work
i broke it myself 😬
because the switch was dirty
kept delaying the key
then would repeat the key until another one was pressed
idk how to get it out safely
Oh.
You can try to open it up and desolder the switch. Or maybe see if it's dirty by removing the keycap.
Otherwise, I don't know what's wrong with it.
i think i broke the spring, or bent it in some way
etc etc
looks crooked compared to surrounding switches
Any pictures?
Yeesh it looks like that middle one is in the process of being yanked off.
:/ won't go down
I don't think it has a hotswap PCB so if you want to fix it yourself you have to take it apart, desolder it, and reseat and resolder.
damn
What are some good wrist rest to pair with my keyboards
Pretty much any.
There isn't much that goes on in a wrist wrest.
Unless you care about looks.
If you care a lot about comfort then it's best to learn about the different materials used.
Does all wrist rest suit for all boards? Like connecting them together
Most don't physically connect together but some pair with their own wrist rests.
Like a Corsair keyboard connecting to a Corsair wrist rest.
I have had nothing but issues with all corsair peripherals ive ever had
Which ones do you recommend?
I mean
I can't really recommend any because I don't use any.
But honestly, on a basic level, you only really need to consider whether you want a hard or soft wrist rest.
@violet gale
You only need to start prying into the finer details when you want to get into aesthetics.
Looking for soft wrist rest
Oh alright
But that I don't really pay attention to them.
I currently have a Razer wrist rest
Would it be suited if I put it for other keyboards
I just worry it won't connect well
Just place it where you normally place a wrist rest. @violet gale
Unless the wrist rest is much, much thicker than the keyboard you should be fine.
I got one of those HyperX ones. Its super comfortable
keychron k6 + xtrfly m42 retro howd that look
i dont have a fitting mousepad though
thinking of just going with the omnitype meka
also those are some nice keycaps
Looks like a nice combo
just that i cannot find a good mousepad that fits well
maybe just the meka in white i dunno
äöü
But why not adapt to English qwerty
and then just use german as second layer
with alt shift
looks really neat
You going for ISO layout?
it has 4 colors: razer green, blue , cyan and off
costs 60€ new holy fuck why did i pay 10 bucks
oh fun fact
all the keycaps are shaky as fuck
as expected
well i paid 10 bucks so i think ive got my moneys worth

that fits well
in color
Oof
rainbow puke with : retro red gray
Do you guys know where i can get some brown switches
Or anything thats is tactile but not to loud
too small i play on like 500 dpi
LOL
Banggood
Banned in my country along with AliExpress and most of china ☠️
Vpn?
But no luck getting parts
They block all shippments in customs
Oof
In what country do you live lol
Oh boi
I can't seem to find Topre board with the ISO-DE layout. :C
Topre themselves use a link for Amazon on their German website but they all just use ANSI.
Made this back during the pandemic in mid-2020 at work. We all felt like building the most obnoxious looking mechanical keyboards. I chose a YC96 with Pepsi keycaps.. lol
Now I want Pepsi keycaps
They are on Aliexpress.. There's a Coca-Cola and Pepsi model. I really wanted Mountain Dew haha. Maybe I'll design a set and get them ordered from WASD Keyboards
You’ve intrigued me, Bender.
Pepsi keycaps lol
Hi everyone
I need some help with my kb
I bought the Kumara K552 rainbow with Outemu Red Switches, everything works fine but you cant change the color on this model, so you're basically stuck with rainbow colors. I was thinking about returning it and switch to the RGB model with Outemu Blue switches. My question is, will i notice any difference from the red to the blue switches apart from blue one being more noisy than reds?
the feel will be different its going to be a tactile feel instead of just down
you will definitely know when you press a key lol
Would u recommend I stay with red switches?
depends on your preference i like blues more then red but you might not
I mean its my first ever mechanical kb, so I dont really know what I want haha
i mean reds are good for like gaming cause they are more responsive then most of the others
Well in that case im gonna stay with reds and turn off the leds haha, thanks for ur help
welcome 🙂
Anyone know a keyboard case with a built in gb
there are several
but the rgb leds are on the pcb
and the case has cutouts and an acryllic panel
Damn, are the options confusing
yea
theres a lot
if you go to websites such as drop and kbdfans they have good selection
So many different implementations of optical
I am specifically looking for a keyboard that is optical-tactile, is MX compatible, and has USB passthrough
A simple request, but every time I try to read up on the latest keyboards, my head hurts
What the hell is optical tactile
Oh
K100, Apex Pro… how am I supposed to figure out which is better suited for me?
i would go k100, it has macros and more buttons
Roccat Vulcan?
¯_(ツ)_/¯
Which switches do you think is more premium? Normal switches like Razer's or something like a gateron yellow
Its preference
Whichever you like more is more premium
theres a bunch to pick from
its all preference
there are like thousands
personally like black inks, alpacas, and banana splitz
maybe thats just me
To me I like Khalil box white a lot but romer g tactiles are also decent for gaming they are nice blue clones are the worst to me atm
click jackets are just bad.
only decent click jacket is the phoenix, or whatever heroinbob ended up calling them
If a keyboard has LEDs, it means the switches cannot be opened without desoldering, correct?
You would only need to desolder the LED if it is a through-hole LED that goes down through the top of the switch. That's easy to tell if you take the keycap off and see the top of the LED stuck down through the switch.
Sadly, most switches I've seen are like that
Is the annie pro 2 with browns worth the price?
hello! i have a problem.
my laptop's spacebar is slanted and doesnt make the usual sound when i press it, what should i do?
The stabilizer probably came off. You'll have to pop off the spacebar and reattach it. If it popped off because the plastic clips on the spacebar broke, you'll likely need a new spacebar
alright, thank you!
Hehe it’s arrived
keyboard-ception
Oh yea ahaha
Ey nice
@jagged adder nice sunglasses emoji pen
Nani? Lmaooo
Im thinking about a pre made gmmk full size
Its 137$
Usd
Any suggestions/reviews on it
quick question. My extent of knowledge on wireless keyboards goes about as far as 20 dollar budget bluetooth logitech boards picked up at best buy.
i'm in the market for a wireless board to use with my living room PC, i need the most robust range/resistance to occlusion setup i can find. Any recommendations on specific boards or what types of connections will be most reliable?
What ever keyboard you do get the ltt northern lights mousepad will complement it nicely

What I’ve got to plug it
hello, does anyone know where I can buy the annie pro 2 in europe?
Mine arrives in mid may ;)
shiny lights
thats quite a bit for a mouse like that no?
it's definetly worth the wait
same lol
awesome, international shipping do be killing me tho
I'll get one of they start making white ones , I'm doing a black and white theme and my keyboard is black but the mousepad is too. Big to be black
I got mine like exactly 7 days later so the 2-7 day shipping holds true if you chose that
I don't know if they will because normally northern lights are seen at night but hey they could always just change it I guess
I want another LTT mousepad which is white it's alright if it's not northern lights
New channel 😳
Yay

ikr
we need one
i would ping mods
but
dont wanna get banned
should i ping a mod maybe?
How do I calculate the impact of o rings?
Is pre-travel reduced? Total travel? Both?
Any recommendations for TKL keybaords below $70, Just need the board, with RGB lights and if possible a wireless dongle for wireless function
uhhh im new to keyboards, i just bought one from my friend for $150. Im not familiar with the brand but he said it is a membrane keyboard and get got it for $200 off of amazon. It even has rgb...
the brand is "chnchw" is anyone familiar?
I think whoever made that brand name, was typing with a broken keyboard and never noticed
$200 membrane? My sides hurt after reading that
lmaooooooooo
200$ membrane wtf , and what is that name bro
Pls refund or say you joking
not familiar but i used to have one very similar, they weren't great. id suggest asking for your money back and getting something else
got my keyboard soak in water
how can fix it
now sometime keys just got jam
and spam the button
and my esc key stop working for some reason which is really anooying
gamakay k87?
Anymore recommendations
So I ordered a 40 dollar BM60 poker PCB and it didn’t work so now I’m paying over 40 dollars to send it back
oh no
Question is why he didn't check for himself... Like google is thing. Just put in the name
yupp, he should've.
maybe hes not in the us
but still
150 is a scam
he got it from a 'friend' so i doubt a refund is gonna occue
Nah I was joking lol
I just googled mechanical feel keyboards and found that. I have a Anne Pro 2 and a Reddragon K552W
Idk to see how y’all would react
I have a super basic question.
I've been looking to buy a japanese layout keyboard (I'm learning japanese and could be useful) and I don't really know if Windows will recognise the layout or how that works.
I currently use the IME layer, but guess it's not the same thing.
I have the european layout right now and never had a different layout aside of changing the number of keys.
Just change the language to Japanese and the keyboard layout to JP
its a mech
the blackwidow v2
Ah ok. I didn't realise that the language and the layout should be different cnfigurations
Perfect!
Any recommendations for TKL/ 75% keybaords below $70, Just need the board, with RGB lights and if possible a wireless dongle for wireless function
just the pcb?
With the plate and all that so that I can just buy caps and switches
I've no clue how well everyone here thinks they do, but Keychron makes some decent boards, complete, for near/at that price w. bluetooth
I personally own the K3 slim 75% and K6 65%
Okay so my g915 tkl iss double clicking and the rgb seems kinda glitchy.
Point proven by that double s above in the isss.
And that iss as well, as well ass thissss one.
Freaking hell. Anyways,s is there a way to RMA it even though I got it from eBay and I have no receipt?
i agree, i own a gen 1 k2
ignore
I have a keychron k2 amongst other keyboards, i really like the layout but it's far from being the best I have, however for the price it's really good
Indeed, if you want Great keyboard feel, you should honestly be ready to drop $150+ and some personal work lubing, etc.
Keychron is a perfect middle ground for me since I'm not picky, and actually like apple's magic keyboards

Well i made my own yeah so that's why I said that
And it did cost me between 150 and 200€
Lots of work to do that
Yup
all the pwoer to you
Especially knowing I designed the pcb lmao
yeyeye I can't do that
You just need to learn to do it haha
i would like to change out the switches eventually on mine, gonna go with something tactile
laughs in RK84
software is ass tho we don't talk about that
Do you have a steel/thick alu plate?
It I think has an aluminum plate.
Haven't checked. But it is heavier than it looks.
But a thin one I guess
¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Genuinely asking
I'll have to open it up.
Cuz the keyboard i made is a fricking brick and is so sturdy that I almost broke my hand hitting it one day lmao
I'm saying that because I feel it when typing
And it's by far the biggest difference with other keyboards i have
(currently in the house I have 3 other mechanical kb)
Hey People!
would someone here be willing to sell me his/her 2.75u GMK Samurai Shift/"cloud" keycap?
I accidentally bought the 1800 kit without knowing that the shift would be smaller than in the tkl/65% versions and it looks scuffed af
Alternatively does someone know of a 2.75u keycap I could buy that fits in with the set?
does anyone have any good mechanical keyboard building sites I could use in here?
Does anyone know what keycaps these are
Should I build a keyboard with the tofu60 case and brown switches or get the glorious GMMK pro with brown switches
This is my first build btw
can i not send bit ly links here?
anyone know any nice wooden boards?
kbdfans
https://kbdfans.com/collections/switches/products/novelkeys-x-kailh-box-cream-swicthes doe anyone know if these are the nice tactile ones
NovelKeys Box Cream switches are a new linear switch created in the likeness of cream switches, but features the unique BOX housing. The switches are sold in packs of 10. Quantity 1 = 10 switches Specs: Type Linear Travel Distance 2mm Actuation | 4mm Bottom Force 45g Operating | 55g Bottom Manufacturer Kailh Mount PCB
yee
just ordered K4 v2
noice
@chrome raft those are going to be linear switches
Yes, they will make noise. There are several silent switches though. If you don't know exactly what you want, I'd get a switch tester from kbdfans.
ok ty
Everything is going to be preference, but for tactiles I prefer Holy Pandas (or Glorious Pandas), but those are pretty loud
I prefer Zeal Zilents V2 for silent tactiles
can i have a link to those switches in kbdfans or anywhere
Those switches were in group buy, so they're mostly sold out now. A few vendors in other countries still have them though:
https://candykeys.com/product/original-aspiration-oa-switch
https://monokei.co/products/original-aspiration-switches
i like the color
Its all choice
and preference
I would try them with a key tester, as well, as a few other speed linear switches and see what you like!
Sound tests are not reliable: your desk set up will sound different based on the type of desk you have, if you have a deskmat, the keyboard it's in, etc.
Plus the sound of a switch in a switch tester will sound completely different to a real keyboard due to the plate, the case housing, etc.
I got this application on my PC which enables me to have the sound of a mechanical keyboard
Those are two very different feeling switches.
@silent otter is that the glarses app? 🤣
You can click which one you wanna hear and click which one you want. Im using the EG oreo it sounds good
Idk who that is. i saw this on tiktok
cherry blacks sounds mushy tbh
Cherry blacks are going to be pretty scratchy feeling stock. I'd recommend Hyperglide Blacks if you want a cherry black.
facts
Is this keyboard a solid option?
https://www.keychron.com/collections/keyboard/products/keychron-k6-wireless-mechanical-keyboard?variant=31441079730265
Keychron K6 Compact Wireless Mechanical Keyboard. 65% Layout. Wireless or Wired. Users can hot swap every switch in seconds with the hot-swappable version. Compatible with Mac, Windows, iOS, Android, Linux. Optical or Gateron Switches. Connect up to 3 devices. 15+ RGB Backlight
i own the keychron k2 and from my experience they are pretty decent keebs
if those are the features you want, and you like the size, yes i say get it
Alright thx
mhm
Anyone know where i can find nordic keycaps?
Fr4?
Does anyone know where I can buy everglide aqua kings?
i am thinking of buying a gk61 but dunno what switches are the best for gaming (yellows, blacks, blues, browns, reds)
which of them would be the best option?
Hey, anyone got like a wooden board to recommend, like the gk61x
What are some nice budget keycaps to get?
@violet gale PBT keycaps from KBDFans or The Key Company
alright thanks
Do you know any good budget friendly keybaord kits?
For like TKL or like 75%
Before submitting an order, make sure the accessories (switches, keycaps, stabs) which you need have been added to the shopping cart, since the shipping cost will be very expensive if purchased separately. Click here to assemble: ASSEMBLY SERVICE LINK Includes Anodized aluminum case KBD75 Rev 2.0 Soldered PCB Brass
I would just peruse KBDFans website honestly. They're one of the best places for entry level custom keyboard products.
Is that with RGb lights as well?
That PCB has rgb, but I don't know how well you'll see it in a solid aluminum case.
@radiant coral it's just preference. I would get a switch tester to figure out what you like.
Linus favourite switches?
@chrome raft, KBDFans
do you have any other recommendations, for like better rgb effects
You could try to get a polycarbonate case so the RGB shines through that way.
is it something like the razer blackwidow chroma kyeboard?
So the razer keyboards show their RGB through the switches themselves: they have RGB leds in each of them. What you'd get in the KBDFans board is underglow, so the RGB would be underneath.
Guys, quick question, should i buy the Cherry MX Board 3.0 S for 100€?
Im searching something tactile, like an "unused"/slightly used Membrane
With single key rgb and with numblock/tenkey(?)
Now im not sure if there is a better one (for me) since im completely new and dont have a lot of budget for it
Im not able to buy from amazon tho. So mindfactory, reichelt, coolblue, voelkner are my sources
I would take a look at mechanicalkeyboards.com (I believe they deliver worldwide)
https://mechanicalkeyboards.com/shop/index.php?l=product_list&c=26
MechanicalKeyboards.com - Learn, Compare, Buy. Choose from over 1,000 mechanical keyboards and accessories with the world's largest dedicated mechanical keyboard catalog and knowledge base.
I should also mention that i would code quite a bit but also game. It should be decently quiet too, my problem with my membrane is just that it registers some presses too often or in the wrong order, or sometimes not at all.
Hm lemme take a look
Doesnt seem like they do
And its just 5$ cheaper.
Well..
A ducky one is 5$ cheaper then the cherry one
But it has the wrong layout too
What layout are you looking for? Iso?
Oh, uh, i meant qwertz, my bad i think
But something simmilar to this eould be nice
One sec
I have no idea what that is, i assume its iso from some other keyboards labled as iso
TIL what qwertz is. What I would do is get a cheap (30 or so) keyboard for now and save a bit more so you have 200euro to spend. At 200, you'll have a lot more options available, especially since you want that specific layout.
"Til"? What does that mean?
Today I Learned 🙂
Do you have recommendations for RGB instead of underglow keyboards
Eh screw it, im buying it.. i cant get an 30€ ish one here .
Lowest they start is 70.
If i dont like it, my dad can get it.
Like i can adapt to any keyboard, so it really needs to be horrible

uhh, you guys know of any nordic keycaps? Or were i can buy
thx
Would Khail Pro Purple: https://bit .ly/3e9Cn5h Fit in this: https://bit .ly/2PI9jIN
i cant send full links idk why
its khail pro purples and wooden gk61x
Yes those will work together. The PCB in the GK61x supports 5 pin switches and the Kailh switches are 3 pin.
so if its 5 pin will both 5 pin and 3 pin work?
i mean if the board thingy is 5 pin
Ah Thanks 😄
np
You can also get some custom ones from Maxkeyboards. Those are UV print and ABS though so do be wary of that, but they do offer PBT options.
Don't know why they can't do custom PBT sets.
But they're the only one doing not only a custom colourway for every keycap but also a front print.
I broke my keyboard do I get a new one here for free?
Everest Max coming end of May whoop
yo gateron red blue or brown for decently quiet operation
Definitely not blue @tidal jungle: those are clicky
so red it is i think
Get brown ones
brown i heard was mushy and i dont want that coming from a fake mech keyboard
Brown will probably be quietest but they few different from reds (tactile va linear)
Bc of the Color no one notices if you shit on brown ones
god youre funny
I am not funny I am Tim
whats the best keyboard company for mechanical keyboards
You can have the one I found in my closet
None, because good companies can screw up and bad companies can do good.
I highly suggest researching the thing you're going to buy instead of the company who sells them to you.
Research into customer service helps too.
waiting for that g815 tkl
u can have my razer membane
Nice
mhmh cant decide between the keychron k6 and k2
coin flip
probably not since the only one available is the k6
I’d go k2 if you want function keys
Otherwise if you don’t care about those (for some reason) then k6
I have the k2 and I do recommend it
external numpad
k6 looks so slim and k2 looks so chonky
i dont need a numpad i cant even properly use it
voicemod
i think ill go with the k2
bleuha fuckin braindead rn
same
k2 it ia voi
mhmh id like a matte white mouse too but dont wanna spend 200 bucks on a g pro superlight
ill probably add foam if i figure out how
model o white?
can someone help me
my laptops f1 f2 f3 keys had been taken off by someone
and i dont know how to put them back
please help
Do you have the keys? @placid silo
all you should need to do is align them in the correct orientation and then press down till you hear a click if just the keycap has been taken off
thank you
np
buy or no buy
Yeah I think that’s fine
will mostly use it for osu! so what i am really worried about i life idk how many presses it can take
2 keys shall be forced to an abusive life
time to read
That way you can get new switches easier
there is one that is hot swappable but i gets scary close to g915 price with shipping
might just go with that one and hope that the estimated 50 million life span is true
If the switches die then you can either diy or get keychron’s help
you will never reach 50 million presses in your life
osu or not
on a single keyboard anyway
Well I can tell you right now that my k2 has lasted me about 2+ years with constant use
welp guess i can just diy if the 2 keys i press the most die
It’s not hard to do and Gateron reds are pretty common
Just need to be careful
Don’t need to worry about that right now
both ways i got 2 spares
an office keyboard i got for free and the current one i have which will be replaced
Alright
cherry mx father
ight thx for the help gonna focus on class now
No problem
can anyone find a mechanical blue switch 60% keyboard in india under 4000 inr or 60 USD
Not a 60% but Redragon's other boards are around the same price range
they do have 60% boards
okay thank you!
No worries 👌
This one uses outemu blues which are clicky
oh here you go
I looked up the wrong thing
This one has clicky blue switches and it's 60%
I have it at home and I can verify that it is very clicky
cool thnx again
👍
btw ur staff wow
Now for the thing I came in to poke for
Anyone have katakana keycap set recommendations?
Stuff similar to DSA Otaku but with a more neutral or pastel palette.
https://pimpmykeyboard.com/dsa-otaku-keyset-sublimated/
Sorry I should specify that I'm looking for a keycap set that has no latin characters or alts
oof fair
That's still a nice set tho
I'm just a fan of really minimal boards. My previous build had a fully blank keycap set haha
Oh damn
Maybe I'll give WASDKeyboards a shot
I've just heard that their keycaps are pretty thin
laughs in 5$ keyboard and mouse set
No shame in cheap keyboard sets! but dude once i ascended i ascended, no going back on cheap sets ahaha
often not the money you put into peripherals pays itself
in build quality and feel and longevity
yea when you buy a expemsive set the cheap ones are unuseable
buy cheap are not that bad
ahahaha
Keyboards are an addiction
dude i was looking at aviator cables
I also bought one of the Marsback M1s
and i was like... this is so nice... but 20 dollars for each connector.. then the cable itself is like 40 dollars
and i was like, hell noo
OH FUCK I STILL NEED TO ORDER MY CABLE
The grid is supposed to come in this month
these are the ones i am talking about
but is it better than the 1000$ hdmi connector?
the cable is only for aesthetics and also easy connecting

it isnt like the 1k hdmi connector in that they advertise better anything
it isnt
its a scam lol
i could buy a pc with that
remember when linus paid 50$ for a keycap for the brass(idk) keyboard
some people spend hundreds just on keycaps but thats quite rare of a case
That's cherry brown ones, right? lol xD
Only if you cover shipping
yes
oki, noice! Wasn't quite sure 😅 Ty!
quick question does anyone know where i can get red switches for a dierya dk61e
You mean Gateron Optical Reds?
Search for those.
Ohh look a keyboard flex chat
I believe the GMMK is all aluminum but I'll check.
Oh it's plastic.
Damn. Kinda figured. Pretty hard to get an aluminum case for cheap.
GMMK Pro might be your best bet. @stone socket
If you're willing to give up the aluminum there are plenty of options under $100.
the ikbc mf87 is going for 166 us on their website
thats probably the closest you'll get to a 100 dollar full metal tkl
the quality is good too, i've seen one in person
Do the Akko switches have tinted RGB or do the holes let RGB shine through like normal
lets the light shine through like normal
cause thats a big opening for the light to go through
Thank you I will now be ordering them

yeah i would assume but why would you use it with an xbox
game pass ultimate also gets you the games on pc
https://www.xbox.com/en-US/xbox-game-pass#join
the A key on my mechanical keyboard started to stop working and only detects the key being pressed every once in a while. does anyone know a good fix? i heard contact cleaners might be the way to go but i'm not exactly sure
the key works if i press it hard enough as well, if that helps
That’s a cool keyboard
(maybe its even the switch which might have a bad soldering connection (just dont listen to me on that, i have no idea)
But ive finally got the Cherry MX Board 3.0S with browns! I like it as far as i was able to test. But wow... The tactility is like.. not there at all (or the slightest bit..) i mean.. i knew "everyone" was complaining on that, but that its that small.. wow.
yes i advise you return it if you can
with game pass ultimate you get it in pc too
yo i am gonna get akko cs rose pinks soon and i want to order a switch opener but i heard that you need a kailh switch opener is there a switch opener that works with it and cherry mx style
Meh, i rather have some tactility and pressure needed to press it rather then none like the silent reds..
Also, that its a bit rough press is pretty nice actually, it makes the jump from membrane to mechanical easyer. Like the membrane was pretty rough too.
Whatever floats your boat man
exactly. everyone shall/should take that what they like.
Anyone by chance lube cherry white switches and had success? I've heard not to lube them but LTT community knows best
You'll want to lube the sliders, the spring, and top housing but probably not the legs.
See this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=44Wv4OGdmu4

Just don't lube the legs. Cherry tactiles are infamous for having a tiny tactile bump so lubing the legs will practically turn them into linear reds.
Because PC faster and more options available to you for graphics settings.
i have a couple questions about this:
does this set come with lube?
if not, is there and lube alternative i can use to lube them?
does it support hot swap optical red switches? if that make sense
am i going to need anything else other than this and lube (or a lube alternative if it doesnt come with one) to start my lubing proccess?
am i going to need to lube my stabs too? and do i need a whole other setup to lube my stabs or not?
i want to get the full experience out of my keyboard, and i keep getting recommended to put dampening foam under my pcb, do i need it? and if yes where do i manage to get dampening foam?
oh also is there any tutorial or video that demonstrates this exact proccess?
(idk why the link is arabic tho sorry bout that)
does this set come with lube? if not, is there's a club alternative?
No, and the most common lube used is Krytox 205g0 (thicker lube for linears only) and Tribosys 3204 (thinner lube for linears and tactiles) or 3203 (even thinner lube for preserving as much tactile feel as possible).
Anyone got keyboard recommendations for around the £50 mark?
does it support hotswap optical red switches?
It depends on the switch manufacturer. Take this dual-switch opener below, for example. The one on the right opens Cherry and Gateron switches because of its thinner, four-prong layout, while the one on the left is used for Kailh switches, since they use a longer, two-prong layout.
am I going to lube my stabs too? and do I need a whole others setup to lube them?
You definitely should lube them. And taking them apart may require a screwdriver, but that's about it. There are tutorials like this one that will help you out:
https://youtu.be/usNx1_d0HbQ
There are also further mods you can do, like clipping and band-aiding them:
https://youtu.be/cD5Zj-ZgMLA
Or even doing what's called a "holee mod":
https://youtu.be/-vhpHjlkRgQ
If you want any recommendations, I suggest Durock V2's, as you don't have to clip them and the wires do not pop out, unlike the V1's.

oh ok thanks you, by the way is there something i can use other than industrial lube? weird question ik lol
I don't know. I just know people use those lubricants and you can get them in smaller containers or even vials.
it says gateron on my switches does that mean it works?
ok then i have to factor in lubing my stabs, abd if a screw driver is all it requires then it good i can do it myself, also thanks for the other video recommendations
oh ok thx
Am I going to need anything else to start my lubing process?
A thin brush, a keycap puller, and a switch puller, if your purchase of lube does not include any one of these.
Four bowls to set aside every part of your switches: top housing, bottom housing, spring, and stem. An alternative to this would be using what's called a "lube station" for you to neatly organize your switch parts, and it can look something like this:
It should.
i do have a thin brush for painting, and my hot swap keyboard did come with a keycaps and switch puller (and im obviously going to organize it lol)
ok thx
One more ping I promise.
do I need dampening foam and where do I get it?
That's up to you. Dampening will change the sound characteristics and typing feel of your keyboard. You can get them wherever you can find keyboard parts. However, you will need to ensure the foam matches the exact keyboard layout you will be using. Most barebones and fully assembled hotswap mechanical keyboards will include it anyway.
@pallid trout its fine trust me i like getting pinged lol, i was worried about pinging you lol
Nah don't worry. Just don't spam, as usual.
the problem is i dont have places specified for keyboards in my area, i might need to find them using another way
ok sure
Are you looking to take apart an assembled keyboard or are you looking to build your own?
i got my keyb a while ago but i wasnt very satisfied with the sound, its too loud and noisy, my family can hear it too so im currently looking to mod it
So unfortunately, I can't really help you find the foam used in your keyboard, but you can take it apart whenever you can and see if it already includes it.
I'm sure it will, though.
yeah for sure, its fine you've already helped more than enough
for sure ill take it apart soon and see
its a gk61
thank god i have a full screw driver set or else i wouldnt be doing this lol
What you can do is purchase some sound dampening sheets (or use the foam packaging that came with the keyboard if it has any) and cut it to the keyboard's layout.
oh yes i think one of my boxes came with that one sec
Unfortunately thats what my keyboard came with lol, do you think i am able to cut it into shape? Lol
Oh. Looks a little stiff, no?
