norb's evil chinese twin
back to hustle good stuff in guheyo
fuck those koreans
ghosted after mentioned paypal
@worldly garden
I swapped the caps to GMK Mika and rebuilt with Alu plate, LFSS HG
I can't actually wait to get some keysnap for this thing
oringless
Stupid question but is it possible to make a mouse worse? I just got my first "real" gaming mouse and the sensor even tracks movements when I lift it like 5mm into the air
Is it possible to lower that
somehow
dont lift it then
or turn it off
Well im used to lifting it to move it a bit since my old mouse was cheap and i got nervous hands
Ill get used to it at some point
but idk
Sometimes that's a setting called tracking distance or similar, you'd have to look around the mouse software and see if you find it. Otherwise idk if you can
I got the mouse software and from Firekeys to makros it got everything, didnt find that though
I mean if its realy not possible imma just put a bit of tape at the bottom to make it higher
im not playing many competitive games anyways
Probably the worst way to fix it but it works better then expected
What about it
Idk this is the 2nd mouse i ever had
I got no comparision or experience with it
But the mouse itself works great, the price is resonable I think
Only paid 25€ for it
Whats a good mouse for under 30€ that I can get
I can still send this one back
mchose
atk
take a look at those brands
@bitter oar any récs
aight
Idk about where you live but they are like 60-80€ here
- shipping
where are u
Austria
Austria is still ded in aliexpress right
do you have someone outside your country that could buy a mouse for your and ship it to you
i think my recs may be outdated
haven't checked the mice market for some time
but generally i can suggest getting a wireless mouse with paw 3395 or paw 3950 without sensor rattle and the implementation has to be right, a nordic sku or a sku that is battery efficient, ptfe skates that glide, shell that doesn't creak, side buttons that feel light & tactile without too much pre-travel and post-travel, main buttons that don't grind and have suitable tactility, stiffness, actuation point, scroll wheel that feels good (my vxe r1 pro has good scroll wheel imo), has to be center heavy or back heavy if it's front heavy the mouse will feel much heavier than it is @peak sequoia
and also good finish of the mouse (coating) so the mouse doesn't feel like lego in your hands
optionally - good software, more than 1khz (1khz is good enough, your monitor is prob below 480hz), etc.
lwk rapoo will work fine
3398, nordic 54L15
months of battery life
I'll take a look around Amazon

I'm considering pulling the trigger on the Keychron K10 HE. I watched a variety of reviews, and they seem to be pretty positive.
Before I drop $150+, is there anything I should know about it? Anything I'm missing, or alternatives that I should consider?
if u trry other layouts
there is other alternatives
Only full sized for me
intro s100
get a realforce
only HE ?
Hello all is this normal for the brand new Logitech x2 pro super strike???
?
cable wiggle?
it’s probably within tolerances
Does the mouse still work regardless of the wiggle? If yes, it's normal. If the mouse disconnects from USB when wiggling the cable, then no, you should contact Logitech for a warranty replacement.
Damn 19 years after Microsoft Glorious Sidewinder mouse with a display
Turtle Beach finally improved the concept, with a touch screen this time?!?
They should remove all the buttons next, and make the left & right click touch-screen-based aswell

they should just make a smartphone that is shaped like a mouse
question is... is rest of the peripheral good?
Speaking of mice, I found something interesting in my Inphic F9 while trying to disassemble it
For those wondering, yes, I somehow like to disassemble the mice I use just to see their insides
Nothing wrong with that, done it myself before.
With everything
New switch day.
What is it exactly?
@worldly garden
Guess what arrived
it's end game babyyyyyyyyyyyy
This is probably the last keyboard that I'm going to buy
Cloudline TKL / MX Black LFSS / Durock v3 / PBTfans Dracula Latin
that's it, finished
done
bakeneko60
see you next week with a new board
Yearly reminder of what is the goateskiesk keyboard ever made
I got my Apollo keycaps!
told u is good
Yeah and they feel thicker and have more texture than my previous set
I just wish they included more size options for the Windows key
And I can still see the keys in the dark since I game with the lights off
nice
Keygeek Oat
Does it thock nice?
yes
What style of pins are they? 3 pin or something else?
Keygeek oat nice got them on a board right now
@void geyser whats the dkc vendor alternatives
DKC?
you mean delta key?
just find whoever in this list from alexotos, high chance they would reputable
aite bet ty
Ouh. That wouldn't fit in my 3-pin Redragon Kumara 🥲
Use a keyboard with 5 pin then
Not that rare
Can you gimme a few affordable candidates?
define ''affordable''
i mean, technically you can clip those off and sand them if you are into torture
how good/bad are these
55G is on the higher side for linears and you need to make sure your board supports 5-pin switches (not all do). For feel, I don't have one
I did say on the heavier side, probably only slightly above average
Oh I can't read
bought the bosslady at work an epomaker TH108 pro after she complained about how shitty her logitech whatever keyboard was and ngl I think I need to have one for myself now
epomaker th series is probably one of the best bang for buck series, especially if you want to go for a silent one
rare to have silent switches in decent boards just as a buy option.
keychron, aula f75, endorfy thock all dont come with that silent option. got the th99 for a friend of mine last year, bc it was 50€ cheaper than the next best option after searching for legit half a year
thoughts on pulsar paraspeed/paracontrol yall
topre is the best bang for your buck
What’s the best oled monitor for sub 500 bucks in the us?
I’m currently looking at this one
is your room dim or bright
during usage
scissor kbs are the best bang for your buck

i can think of so many ideas with this kinda lighting
this is sho right
who knows
larp?
both
issa cool board but there’s no way u have a kb500 right….
but anyways, anyone who has kb500 will never say they do
How much do you mind qd-oled purple/pink tint
since keychron doesnt want to make the Q12 anymore
I don’t mind it
yeah then buy that msi one or any cheapest qd-oled with good color calibration
most of them have acceptable or good color accuracy
150 for refurbished mini LED is probably the best deal i have seen in my life
im jealous
and thats coming from a person that literally found (at least in my region) the best ram and 2TB NVME deal that ever existed
link
can get the same from a chinese brand for 120

with solid guarantee too
1 dead pixel and you can return it
is samsung odyssey oled g5 g50SF good?
can I have a link to one
are you sure with miniled and true hdr
not miniled oops
just plain ol’ IPS

yeah miniLED is usually 2.5x expensive as non miniLED so its w/e
dont even have to go to chinese brands, i have 120€ (including taxes) ones with identical specs here by koorui, asrock, viewsonic and ktc
Looking for some input before I pull any triggers. Looking at the QN90F as a monitor. Either the 43" or the 50". My desk is 80cm (31.5in) deep. Is the 50" too big?
I plan on wall mounting it.
heads up: QLED is not OLED
not even close
its basically just as good as any IPS/VA monitor at that size.
if u got it for 250 or 300 bucks, that is a decent choice (since similar IPS/VAs are at ~200)
if you insist on QLED that is your choice
especially if you are wallmounting, 80cm is definitely enough
if you sit very tightly at your desk and have games etc in fullscreen, that will be very large, especially at 50''
if you sit quite far away, use it more in multi windowed mode for work or sth. or maybe have a couch at the other side of the room where you watch movies from quite regularly, then for most people both sizes will be fine, especially if its the multiwindow or couch thing
do you have experience with 35'' or larger displays @shell bridge
The only gaming experience I have on anything larger than my 32" monitor is my TV. I'm looking at mini led because I'm worried about burn in. I was originally looking at the LG B5 48", or whatever it's called. My usage is roughly 50/50 gaming/working, so a lot of static imagery
my bad, was looking at a spec sheet that didnt say miniLED and was about to recommend miniLED 😄
what country do you live in and what price did you find it for?
I'm in Denmark. Can find all of the at roughly 800EUR.
you have a good danish price recommendation site for me?
I use pricerunner.dk to get a general feel, but I often find better deals googling them.
here in germany standard 4k miniLEDs (IPS/VA) are around 350 (granted thats 27 inch, 475 for 32, 560 for 43)
with next to no other benefits than bigger screen size
Well, there were a couple things that drew me to the QN90F. It's 165Hz, pretty good brightness, okay local dimming somewhat low input lag
Do you have any recommendations from Germany?
what is the actual zone count on the 43 and 50?
i could only find 720 for the 65
I was mostly looking in DK because of return/RMA
was only looking germany for convenice, we have a price comparison site that is just 10/10 and finds everything
Can't find the zone number, only people describing that there's about 300 based on haloing
so its often easier to start there and find sth similar in other regions for me
at least if its EU
that is very low
even 720 would be
the cheapest standard miniLED has 1152
havent had the time to look at exact response times as thats more time consuming than the rest i have checked
how important is screen size to you and it being QLED over IPS/VA?
As a minimum I'm for something around 43 and up. The 32" feels too crowded at times
Thing is, I can't find anything else here really. Not without being significantly more expensive
just for science purposes
what is the cheapest you can find the Samsung Odyssey Neo G7 G70C at
LS43CG700NUXEN
this is the SKU, might help
i have it at 5167 kr
~480
no worries
i would tell you OLED burn in isnt much to be worried about anymore, but since oLED isnt viable at those screen sizes, we can pretty much ignore it
Yeah that's what I see in reviews, what worries me is having a long work day with the same menu's and windows open
its pretty much the neo Q7 if you want to save ~40% for slightly lower framrate and va instead of QLED
or the samsung
qn90f
your choice
Would you not recommend a 48"/50" at that distance, though?
i think that is for you to decide
at normal distances 32 inch is plenty for most, im in front of a 32 inch 4k OLED myself rn
so if that appears to be crouded to your personal taste, you are the the best person to know what you need
Alright, I appreciate you taking the time. I have some thinking/measureing to do, lol
no worries mate, thats what we are here for^^
Any idea how much a winwing superlibra+hotas warthog would cost?
Which channel should I post asking about getting an old keyboard repaired/modded?
Here I guess @snow swallow
Thanks, just wanted to make sure.
I have an old intergraph keyboard I got from a friend. It has built in speakers that no longer work, and one of the keys is missing. I was wondering what the best way to get the speakers replaced, and maybe get the keys upgraded as well.
Do you have any sort of electrical knowledge?
I don't know those switch, maybe hit up aliexpress to see if you can find some keycaps but I doubt it... Otherwise 3D printed but it will look goofy
Not really no
Do you know any reliable repair companies I could send it in to get fixed?
Switches look like nmb dome with slider
You won’t find replacement keycaps without taking it from another old keyboard nor will you be able to replace them with mx without a pcb swap
sell it to me
Sorry I am also collector of old computers and accessories it’s not for sale
What about getting the speakers replaced?
Interesting history behind it
Rubberdome ?
I think best bet is to savage another one
Yeah should be able to get one on eBay
And for interesting history I believe John Carmack used one when making Quake
Does it work when u plug it in
Assume u have a ps2 port
It worked the last time I tried it but that was a few years ago it been in storage mostly the speakers and microphone don’t work anymore
I think yeah go get another one and harvest the needed part
Or u can reverse research it back and likely somewhere will have the parts u needed
Tough luck with the keycaps
Yeah thankfully it’s only one
Comission an artisan with that switch type kekw
That will probably be easier said than done unfortunately
Indeed
It might be easier to just make switch everything out for new mechanical keys just keep the outer shell
What u will do is make a pcb specifically fit this case
And solder normal switches
Yeah thats a way
Will have to think on it
Got experience on handwiring ?
None unfortunately built a compute or two but nothing like this
Do the rest of the electronics work? Like the mic and leds
The pcb won't be compatible
They dont have other white version, does anyone have this keyboard with custom keys?
Looking specifically for white or other light colors to combine with the white MX4 master mouse.
I found some on aliexpress but the printing of they letters looks horrible quality and dubious material
Logitech MX Mechanical
He will get a new pcb
It seems not worth salvaging to me, if can find parts to swap from other "as is" versions of same thing can maybe get it back to working but honestly mic in keyboard seems like a terrible idea. Anyhow if looking to make custom pcb kicad pretty popular, somewhat steep learning curve but with enough patience can learn it, pcbway or jlcpcb popular manufacturers for low quantity PCB creation (would definitely go salvage route first though)
Get loudest switches possible then embed mic next to em 😉 the built in speakers seem less goofy and kinda fun but mic in keeb is just silly
solenoid
Am I meant to take the blue things off?
yes take them off
ok thanks
Cheap Xlr Deck ?
why u want xlr
My mic does both xlr or usb
for anyone here that was able to order the steam controller. have you got yours yet and if so do you like it?
honor x9c @void geyser
GETOU-
what did i do wrong here
is it a smart idea to have a capture card as the output of a hdmi switch?
u don’t use topre

How do i remove or create a swap file on linux
It would be crazy if someone wrote an article about that
Yeah
i bought an attack shark x11 for £12 and genuinely i can see why people buy lightweight/gaming mice
my m913 is not really made for gaming but does it alright but the x11 is so nice to use
My partner has a light weight mouse and I honestly don't see any advantages in any way
But I also don't see drawbacks and most simple good mouses are lightweight nowadays anyway so eh (I only like simple design mouses)
I hear light mice is good for reducing wrist strain when lifting it. It's subtle, but after trying out my cousin's Royal Kludge light mouse, the difference was almost night and day compared to my Inphic F9
The only drawback for me is that, as far as I've seen, there's no option for a light mouse that also has silent mouse buttons like my F9
The switch I use has my capture card as an input
And my pc as the other input
I have a 3 monitor setup and I use at least 2 of the 3 for my pc
The buttons are really close together, this isnt for big hands 😆
good controller ?
I just unpackaged it, will give it a go later and see how i adjust to it. It smells worse than new car smell, its so strong i got put it somewhere else.
For comparison
I have big hands and a tiny (for me, lol) GameSir Nova 2 Lite, and I find it nice when I want to make quick button presses when playing FPS games
.
everything in this guy set up is OEM
😭
u bought crappy stuff from china where only thing ur brand did is slam their name on it
Looking for a monitor in Europe under 300 EUR, did prelimenary reseach and that pointed me to LG 27" 27UP650K-W UHD 4K being best balance of quality/price for daily use of browsing the internet, video consumption and some gaming. Interested to see if anyone has any alternatives? This one is 215 EUR for me. 27" is basically the only size (there are no bigger once at this price range) and can be 1440p - i just didn't find any 1440p that weren't gaming focused leading to bad color accurancy
Better than RAZER (Really Ass Zero Economical Repairs)
razer is better than everything u have
I hope you like zero repairability. Because at least I can repair my Chinese shit one way or another
And I enjoy tearing things down to admire their delicious insides (I removed the panel on the keyboard, I just didn't take a pic of it)
oh
i can just throw it away
and buy another you know
benefits of having a job
Even if I did work a job, I'd still cheap out on things I can cheap out on
Or at least fix things I already have
The rumble under the track pads is cool, i bump the right stick sometimes with my thumb going to x, it could be a tad bigger, customizing it in the settings looks in depth but not very intuitive quite cumbersome,
imagine using a junkie for like 10 months and then spend like 10 hours on a day to fix it
It's called "value". If you value something, you try to keep it working for as long as you can. You're better off saving that money for a future upgrade than buying replacements of the same thing all the time
would rather use that time to work and get money for another thing
save all the hassle
so would u rather fix it for 10 hours or work 10 hours to buy a new one
🥱
@void geyser come take a look at mister honor x9c
also do u know pyro eva
I mean, if you're used to using a Steam Deck, then you probably already figured out how to work the layout lol
Me personally, I don't see much use in the trackpads other than making cursor movements/scrolling down a list much smoother
I'd like to try a Steam Controller someday. Heck, maybe a Steam Deck too
.
I spend my free time fixing my stuff. It's therapeutic to me
Would be a coincidence if I made that my job 🙃
Actually wait. I'm studying to become a plane fixer. That's something
cool cuz i will keep the other 160 bucks left after buying a new mouse and hit the olive garden
*technican
Yeh. Aircraft technician
So yeah. Fixing tech has been my habit since the pandemic years. And it pretty much evolved to fixing anything within my scope of experience
Boring desk jobs aren't for me, unless it involves fixing gadgets, then sure that's tolerable
so would u rather fix smth for 10 hours and zero bucks or a new mouse and money
Ayyyyy, a fellow brother in the art of tear downs!
what are quite good sounding keyboard switches?
I don't want something that isn't completely silent but just doesn't make much noise that can be heard from more than 4 meters
I would be shacking if i had my gpu looking like that I don't think I have the heart to do this lol might try with my old 1060 6gb for practice
lmao
It's not like it's a 5090.
I need a keyboard that is 100$ at most and has all the new features rapid trigger etc... but being quite but sounding good and not completely silent is this possible to find or am I asking for too much?
the "new features" such as rapid trigger mean magnetic switches which means you don't really have lots of choice with switches @Aiza
still right now everything is expensive you wouldn't wanna risk messing up
It's not really that hard.
Trust me.
13 screws and 2 cables.
tbf I can hear someone tapping his finger on a wooden solid desk at 4m so it's a bit hard to know what's your treshold ...
does that mean I have to look for something over 100$ or I won't find something that is quite but has rapid trigger
does rapid trigger even provide a competitive advantage or am I fooled to think so?
Quiet is way too subjective and vague to help out
But yeah rapid trigger (= magnetic) is usually a bit more than 100$, though you will find stuff with plastic cases and (maybe good?) more niche softwares
It theoretically does, in practice you won't be better with it no, but you may just like the feeling of it
yeah tho still my gpu is brand new like less than 6 months old so I wouldn't need to repaste it until 3 years minimum right?
ig i would say creamy? am not sure it's the first time am looking for a keyboard.
so anything would feel better than what i have
wtf does creamy mean it's a keyboard not a mac sunday
And tbh you shouldn't worry too much about silence
I got this 9070XT about that recently as well.
Modded it with better thermal pads.
it's what people call it i promise it ain't somrthing i made up 😂
It's more to describe a certain acoustic tone for mechanical keyboards
I got the same damn, which one did you get, I got saphire pulse
I know yeah and those guys are dumb though I'll be shit on for saying that
For me, it's a muffled thock
Gigabyte gaming oc.
if you got it this recently what are you doing with it?
OC
One that feels like the sound is flowing into your ears like cream
what does that have to do with dismantling it tho
what does that mean?
This
oh my bad didn't see the message that's fair how much difference in temp did that make?
yeah i don't really like putting cream in my ears
20+
sorry what 😂 ain't it supposed to be negative?
Lmao XD
20+C lower than before, mb.
is that creamy ?
so like 20 degrees less than before? fr? just from putting on better thermal pads?
Yes.
that's mad is the factory thermal pads that bad? and does it vary depending on the manufacturer?
Heh?
The video I sent, it's my keyboard
.
It's getting there
A lot of factors affect keyboard sounds like the keycap material, switches and even the PCB base
dm
U are not
tbh the advantage for me is portability mostly but for gaming i can see why someone would use it
my bag is heavy enough as it is lmao
Oh yeah, though 50g in a bag isn't that much I guess if you find 50g for each item ... it adds up
Since it doesn't really cost more (to a point) and isn't worse I guess there is no reason to not have a lightweight one but I still think it's quite overrated
That's an older picture. Sybau
I hope your lungs give out early from your Marlboro enthusiasm
Why put a watermark on a photo taken with a phone?
Anyone here that has used he and non he keyboards for a long time
Do you feel the difference between the 2, has it helped you or given you an advantage
Would you recommend paying extra for he
Hall effect ofc
Keyboards
You might be the target audience for some of the new HMX silents, they're not really silent just quiet
i.e. HMX Blue Star
HMX has a whole bunch, including linears too
I will check them out thanks
Never tried hall effect keys but there are so many switch options it seems a bit silly to use HE just for customization and in case of keyboard switches making a relatively simple contact or no contact into something more complex with sensor and signal conversion. For joysticks I'm a fan of hall effect and makes sense since gets rid of stick drift from potentiometers being the alternative typically but for keyboards I don't really get the appeal. Suppose racing or flying sims with keeb it might be better to have some analog input but in 99/100 of those cases I'm using joystick or hotas or something else for the analog inputs.
I've had my steelseries pro tkl for a while now and after getting my mum a keychron q5 max keyboard for her birthday, I really liked how it felt and wanted to get their keychron q1 he keyboard
Since I heard good things about hall effect
Such as precision and better control
And even if it may not put those to full use, it could give me an advantage maybe in a competitive game or just a nice feature to have
I mean it lends some flexibility to where the actuation point is on a press so I could see it being nice in terms of not needing to test out a bunch of switches to see which ones you like, and if like how they feel then no harm no foul, but can get little key switch testers and variety of switches to see what feels good to some degree or test out full keebs then just get what you like, could see case for HE when sharing keyboard so can have different actuation points maybe, but I bounce between lots of control inputs for various games.
yeah I just don't know how I'd try out so many different types of keyboards without first buying it
¯_(ツ)_/¯
yess but not as much as how the brand describe it
unless u hardcore no
but u can cheap sub 100 HE's
Says the dude who trashed on me for buying cheap peripherals
There's better quality peripherals for cheaper
More durable than what you have
this thing is older than u yet still works
Congratulations to you
shame
I meant more durable than your phone
forgot to mention i have a stack of working iphone 4 and 4s

something smarter before u even gaining your conciousness
Okay then. Go live your life, you worthless ass
worth more than you and your k552, probably
imagine i have to fly on a plane u worked on i would have pray for the whole trip
cuz u cheap out on things
the screws a bit loose, meh, it still works they will be fine
It's not my money I'm spending on the repairs anyway. I'm just the one who will do it
If that's how it is, I'll make sure it's your plane that fucking crashes then
bro is already making his disclaimer lol
One less asshole to deal with in this world
damn thats so nice of u skye
i apperciate that
i will work my way with trains then
such anger issue wont be suitable for a technical job anyway
my condolences
I guess you're right. Or maybe my humor is as dark as dark cholocate
Do not fuck with me, and I won't fuck with you
@worldly garden and @tame thistle theres no need to attack each other and needlessly call each other names/rage bait each other. Please try to be civil next time and respect each other
not at all mate, but he seems to disagreed some of my opinion toward his peripherals
you were essentially ragebaiting them so I don't think you should be surprised
I saw it from the start yesterday
how it calling someone item cheap ragebaiting when it is the facts

fair enough
Now that that's out of the way, I want to ask if a secondhand Logitech webcam is better than my laptop webcam
Cuz I can't stand how grainy my face looks on my livestreams 🙃
Depends entirely on the model of Logitech webcam and the webcam your laptop has.
Ah, I had a C270 for work at my last job. It's okay, but it's definitely an older model with worse low light performance. You can get the much better 1080p Logitech Brio 100 webcam for $35 CAD on sale.
Buy only when on sale from whatever retailer has it for a good price. We bought 40 of these to give out at the new job. They work damn good for their price.
https://www.logitech.com/en-ca/shop/p/brio-100-webcam.960-001580
I see some listings of the Brio 100, but it's unfortunately not in my area 🙃
But also, how can I use my phone camera as a webcam? I'm curious as to how people do it

I'll try it out when I get home from college . Cheers :D
Chat, how's this for a future upgrade?
It's certainly a keyboard
that's cheap
How does it sound?
watch reviews on youtube
I just realized it has magnetic switches. Not interested anymore 😆
badf
no offense
crap 10 buck he's
and wired better for gaming than wireless? and how much difference does it make?
I decided I will buy this one
Hallo. My Logitech G600 broke so im looking for another mouse to replace it close to the same price as it. Im currently considering the Redragon M913 MAX, is it a good mouse or are there any other alternatives? (I need something with a fast sensor cause i have a problem with maxing out sensors when flicking too fast in games).
Hi what are like the best mouse skates for glide and durability for a glass mousepad?
Not a lot if the keyboard is good
But wireless is pretty useless for a keyboard... It doesn't move a lot
btw it’s not really 0.005mm accurate but more like 0.01mm
consistently
doesn’t matter at all
other factors play a bigger role
look for paw3335 and -alike sensors or higher such as paw3370, 3389, 3395, 3950 combined with an efficient mcu sku such as nordic
16 pdip sensors are high-end and 8pdip sensors mid-range
ofc not all of them are made equally, some have different integrations, power efficiency, stability, resolution, etc.
also just so you know paw3395se is a 8 pdip sensor more resembling a paw3311 or 3335 refresh and not a 16 pdip sensor like 3370, 3395 or 3950, paw 3950 is an overkill in most cases but it’s still a small upgrade in a lot of aspects
ajazz used to sell really cheap mouses with paw3395s under €20 but not anymore, they got replaced by those V2s which feature paw3311 usually
yeah it don't matter it will be better than my random ass normal typing keyboard, it's an entry level HE budget keyboard and am not willing to spend a 140$ on an aluminum keyboard right now
140$ was the cheapest I was able to find that met my requirments, and I know I can mod a keyboard but I am not really willing to go through the hassle
Looks like pei to me
Just wondering ,cause I found one amongst a bunch of miscellaneous cables, usb-b cables are primarily useful for what? Trying to find out if I should recycle it or not.
USB-A/C to USB-B cables are useful for connecting compatible peripherals to your computer, such as printers, external hard drives, docking stations, and monitors with USB hubs in them.
mine is B to A
does what you said still apply?
USB-A to USB-B is included in what I originally said. Whether or not you want to keep the cables depends on what you have space for. Should you keep 100 cables? Probably not. Is it good to keep a few? Maybe.
Im sorry for my difficulty
Ill specify a little further its Input on the A side.
All good. USB cables are not normally directional... Rather, the devices you plug into determine how things connect. Normally your computer is the "host" device and the printer / HDD / USB Hub is the "client" device. A picture of both ends of the cable might help clarify.
Yep. That's just a normal USB-A to USB-B 2.0 cable.
They also make a USB-B 3.0 cable. Those are Blue and have some extra pins.
Thankyou, aside from physically connecting to the printer, will B still operate like any other USB?
Yes, it's just a different physical form factor. USB-B 2.0 is still 4 wires inside.
B is a strange direction then lmao
What do you mean direction? Again, the cables are just making contact with however many pins are in the plug on the device. In most cases, USB-A goes into the host device, aka your computer, and the other end of the cable goes into the client / peripheral device, like a printer or HDD.
In this case, the USB B port is on my printer I just found the B cable lying around in my collection of cables
the design for B is just a little strange to me honestly.
don't forget to include one sided usb c 2.0 💀

Keep it, having at least one is good
no the plate isn't cut properly
where bro
im blind
this is on the pangea
good fullsize
@void geyser I know you said you're not the guy to ask about keychron but you are the resident keyboard collector and enthusiast https://www.keychron.com/products/keychron-q1-he-qmk-wireless-custom-keyboard
Do you think this is worth or what's your recommendation for a keyboard that's similar to this
Keychron Q1 HE is a full metal QMK wireless keyboard with Magnetic Hall Effect switches. These switches offer precise actuation, rapid trigger, and adjustable actuation points. Connect the Q1 HE with up to 3 devices through Bluetooth for seamless multitasking across Mac, Windows, and Linux.
If you do recommend me a keyboard tho, 250 max budget for me personally
sounds better but is mx
most HE switches sounds like crap
there's also slice75 if you want HE
tbf you can't really go wrong with q1, its like the toyota corolla of keyboards
decent, works okay, has okay features, but nothing to write home about
Lmao I love that comparison
Thank you for your recommendation
there is bridge 75 he or smth
oh yeah that's true
that's also decent as well
sound good ? not really
i don't think they sell them anymore tho
but if its quality and worth the price tag ? i would say probably
what HE sounds good anyways
i believe i sent u one soundtest
and u assume is mx black on alu LMAO
Any difference between the lite and pro version?
pro is the trimode version
I like some of the colour schemes so I might go with that
Just wondered if there's a big difference
it's MX tho not HE
Lite is he?
iirc the pro also comes with HMX switches
Or they're all Mx?
they're all mx
I've never heard of hmx switches before
one sec let me see if I can find you a better price
I'm willing to pay more for a better keyboard that I'll keep for longer
Price of the keyboards you sent are very okay
here's my 75% recommendations
k2 HE wireless: https://amzn.to/4uHSATL

Oh some of these look really sexy
I'm debating between the keychron H2 and the yunzii al80
I like both a lot
AL 80 is MX and K2 is HE (ISO)
can't go wrong with either
personally i'd pick the al80 since i don't really like HE
I can also just swap the al80 switches if i want something new
In your personal opinion is there any benefit/advantage gained from HE? In daily use and gaming
in gaming imo not that much and is dependent what you play
if you play comp valo then snap tap and adjustable actuation could benefit you
but if you're playing regular ass shooters it's debatable
in my experience most mx switches are already close to my "sweetspot"
so I don't really get that much of a benefit on HE
imo your mouse is more important in gaming
HE daily use is kinda rough as well, since you're locked to linears and not even the interesting ones
Ah right I see
Yeah I don't play anything too crazy, the shooters I've been playing are either singleplayer story games such as fallout4 or stuff like battlefield, but again as you mention, mouse is more important and I don't think I'd see much benefit from it
I'll just go with mx switches
I'm going to get the al80 then although I'll look over the other Mx options
I'll sleep on it and see
I am not having fun with my K2 HE lol. Reverted to using my stock Wormier RD75 lol.
Oh yea also if anyone has a clue but any tmr keyboards you'd see working with this switch https://www.xvxchannel.com/products/xvx-whisper-switch
This is a topre switch clone
Just buy a realforce
these r cheaper than real topre he
better as well
fuck topre
keyboard equivalent of hipsters
Sucks to be so insecure 🥹
hmmm, can i use them with pretty much any he keyboard, like irok mg75?
Cope
only reason I keep an HHKB is to remind my self how shit and overhyped topres are
Should be
they should be similar to raeds HE
It’s your life 🤷
the only difference is this also works with EC PCBs like cipulots so no need to buy housings and sliders
just grab a plate or mod an existing plate to have holes for the stand offs to screw on
it’s less tactile membrane
in essence
it's so overglazed and overhyped hoooooly
its like people who glaze it are part of a cult paid by john topre himself
kinda sad rtings is now paywalled so you can’t search the graphs/charts yourself as easily
what are you after?
theramin goat might have some force curve reviews if he's done the switches / board before
travel force graphs
on what switch / thing?
any
i still might have them somewhere, i posted them here as well before
ah actual actuation compared to force applied
i'd say the opposite, the tactility is usually at the very top then you get the mushy bottom out from the rubber inside collapsing
well, topre is mushy compared to mx linears or mx tactile
but considering the chart it should be less tactile than a typical membrane until bottom out
maybe you had a hmmm less tactile or worn membrane to compare it to, i just found apex 3 membrane sort of the average membrane
hard to translate feel when viewed at the chart, but on that example, the tactile point is at 60g flat at 1mm displacement / travel
so it's very forward in terms of where the tactility is
the big thing you see at the end would be the bottom out of the switch no?
membrane usually rises faster and falls faster/more after tactile point than topre which most people should perceive as more tactility but then membrane has that blunt bottom out which is the mush
also before membrane bottoms out it tends to get wobbly which can add even more to the poor feel
at the end yes
rtings does specify bottom out on topre but doesn’t on membrane as you can see
this site is very useful to me thx
didn’t know it existed
did womier sk75 tmr increase in price?
Lol yea I got them to try out.
If they don't work I can grab a 60% tmr board to test them out fully
rabbit hole we go
cheaper than raeds ec / he too
really good stuff
How does this work? Now I'm curious
Goddamn only 18 in a set.
Lol sold out too.
how do you think it works?
2020 ahh terrible fucking mod
buy and try
Hmm
It dampens the switch? But I don't know how you install it
I see. Not buying then
Funny enough, it popped up as a recommend thing to get along with some silent mouse buttons I was ordering
and a chode keystroke
4mm keystroke to 1.5 🥀
I see
Is there any difference between 180hz vs 200hz?
might try them too
Iam in the rabbit hole of OLEDs
no idea what the fuck to get
i want 32'' 4k 144hz / 165/ 240 either of them is fine
i would want some good price-performance, but the prices are soo shit
WOLED QD-oled, tandem oled, 3 gen, 4 gen, rgb strips......
for work/gaming, work is coding
yes
0.5555 ms
it may not be noticeable
W
Start by knowing if you want glossy or matte it will heavily trims the choice
With this simple choice you will filter out most woled or most qd oled, the difference in panels matters less than the difference in coating
Rgb strips is neat yes
what i've gathered, glossy is best, matte is only in very bright conditions where seems mini-led territory than oled
Nah not very bright conditions, just conditions where you have light going on the screen
We bought a glossy oled for a friend for his birthday, he sent it back to buy a matte one, because it was basically unusable for him
And no it wasn't that bright and I do own a mini led also and mini led will never ever be as good as matte oled lol
I never had an OLED or mini LED iam basing on research, and reading a lot, soo you have more experience.
I work/play in a corner with a light in the middle of the room ( small room )
maybe the only way to know what is the best is to actually see a matte vs glossy or do you have a tip?
Currently i have a 27'' 2k ips 170hz
I've owned multiple oled, still own a mini led and two oleds, plenty of normal monitors over the years
I have 3 gaming computer and also close friends who also have oled
Be it tv or monitors
If the light doesn't shine on the monitor it won't really be a problem I don't think, but some people subjectively react differently to glare so hard to say honestly
As for gen 4 : it's for qd oled, it improves mainly text clarity, but it's still not perfect
If you want perfect text clarity you have to go for rgb stripe
The difference of colors between qd oled and woled exist but everything else will matter more such has text clarity, anti glare coating, calibration, random features such as idk kvm switch etc
You monitor is not 2k, 2k is 2048x1080 and you have 2560x1440
i meant 2k as 2560x1440 same as saying 4k, np.
yes i've seen the rgb stripe and the new gen, iam very afraid of burn-in and text clarity ( i use mostly black background with white text)
Do you use for text stuff / work related or gaming only?
iam more towards qd-oled KVM is good to have but not mandatory
but i agree with you, glossy vs matte...
But 4k mean 4000, which is somewhat close to 3840 pixels, the real horizontal number of pixels, though teal 4k is 4096x2160 it's close enough to be an acceptable error
2k means 2000, normal 1080p is infinitely closer to 2k than what you have
ive seen GIGABYTE MO32U at 550€ ish
AOC Agon Pro AG326UD 600€ ish
but they are older panels i think, the newer are 240hz (the hz dont matter much for me but the panel gen)
My wife works with an LG C2 42" and my friend with a woled 32"
Text clarity on normal qd oled isn't great yeah, gen 4 I haven't tried
Woled is fine, newer woled are better and rgb stripe are just perfect theoretically
LG C2 42'' is a big boy xD
Yeah lol
should be better than monitors tho
but europe prices.... for TVs... are bad
i will save more and see gen4 reviews
But a friend is one step ahead
He is on a freaking 48"
And yes he works on that
And no I don't recommend it lol
one hell of a setup lol
42" is okay, it's a tad too high but overall cool and tv prices are so much cheaper than monitors....
48" is big even for me

She paid 800€
822 on amazon yeh
Also the C2 is a few years old
And the B line is cheaper, I've seen the 48" B for 550€ once
I don't recommend doing this BTW, just saying what I've seen with my own eyes
it is not the first time i hear about TV as monitor
one friend of mine has a 40 something OLED tv as monitor and hes loving it
and my desk is 80cm depth soo i probably can have a 40s ish if the deal is better
Yeah it's just cheaper
Also oled monitors are super recent, we didn't have choice not too long ago
What's your budget?
i would love near 500sh but can stretch a bit
thinking a monitor is almost a life-time buy lol
iam rocking this one for years already with no issue
Oh well I may have not followed recent prices but you won't find a 4k oled for 500€ no?
Or if you do it will be a tv lol
i was eyeing 700 ones yeh xD
deals are around 700-800
i would say budget is less than 1k but more towards price-performance than luxury
I'm changing every year for my desktop
I still don't own one of those 4k oled monitors, though I own 2 4k oled tv and friends have them because I prefer testing stuff, like right now I'm testing mini led (garbage)
But i'll probably stop testing form factors, size, resolution soon and just buy a 39" 5k2k oled
Though I'd like to try real 5k...
will you ever use the 2k switch? xD
Yeah I don't know current products and prices, stopped following few months ago and they already dished out new stuff
But if at that price you don't have last year qd oled coating then you will kind of be happy with whatever you buy so eh maybe just look at what's cheapest and check if it's not thaaat bad
I don't think you can have rgb stripe at this price no?
rgb stripe is 1k or more i believe
normally the higher end models
iam really afraid of dropping 1k in a monitor to have burn in in 3-4 years
5k2k is 5120x2160
The switch is to go to 2560x1080 and... Yeah maybe? I only have a 3080ti in this computer so if I want to play some heavier games I'll probably need to do that
But heavier games usually are on the living room computer so eh
You won't have burn in
i would say you will never use QHD, probably dlss up
iºve seen those 4k to 2k double hz and i think its a bit useless, at 240hz it is diminishing
It's not 2k 😭
QHD then sorry 😄
I'll still try because i like trying stuff and yeah super high refresh rate is something I haven't tried yet
never went above 170hz but for me its a territory of luxury, that needs plenty of a rig to run
😭
It's not qhd
It's full HD but wider 😭
2560x1080 is full HD but in 21:9
Yeah or smaller games
and for me, if i want to ditch quality for hz, i would rather drop the game res, and dlss/fsr up
for a competitive game atleast

Or woled
theres newer woled i think too
CES?
is mini led that garbage? i thought it was an alternative
It's like saying buying a 3k€ used car is an alternative to a brand new one
Yeah it does the same thing, probably gets the job done but it's not a 1:1 "alternative", it's just strictly inferior
I don't think that any new stuff will be cheaper than what's already there tbh
I am fixing the scroll wheel in my g502x and it seems i need to remove the battery to reach it, if I remove it, what sort of glue that would be available can I use to re attach it?
nvm, I didnt need to reglue it
Double sided tape is enough
If it goes loose
I will be saving for a end game monitor buy once and forget
But qdoled seems like a better image than woled (reading) wyt?
Depends on the exact panel
If you compare latest gen vs latest gen, or what you mean by panel?
Update, they do not work with the keychron k2 he and I think any other boards from them lol. Guess I will have to look for a board that support it now.
aww
Someone reccomended the Skyloong GK68 Mix.
Trying to see that poliarity the board is praying the north is down
Any good recommendations for a 75% keyboard that sounds good and ideally hall effect? Ballpark of 60-70 USD
irok mg75 series
but be careful with their driver as it’s potential privacy issue
aside from that the keyboard itself is solid… quite literally it’s made from aluminum
i’d check more chinese brands though as there might be something cheaper now without the sketchy driver
also yeah forgot to mention the switches are sort of proprietary so take care of them, they bundle up extra switches w the kbs in case one or two break (didn’t have any of them break yet)
and it has no volume knob sadly
Aye win win the keyboard I mentioned above works with the xvx switches
i don wan a 68 kb
my f row beloved :(
And that only took me digging through a subreddit with someone who built on it.
tbf the one benefit I would have with that board is the tmr and mechanical hybrid aspect.
i need frow gibe give
even better when it has a prtsc
kinda wish 75% aluminum tmr/he were more mass produced than 60/65%
like 65% is such a niche, it’s when you literally don’t have vertical desk space or you need to move the kb around
and you won’t be moving a solid block of aluminum around anyways
65% or not
like i understand 60% more than 65%
it’s shorter horizontally as well
never buying a 60% though i 100% need a del key
buy realforce tkl
I don't, I find it not taking a lot more space than 60% and the added keys are nice to have
And well, you said it yourself, you need a del key, there is one on 65% 😉
Though if I were to buy a rectangle it would be a 75%
(I use splits 34% keyboards)
Can you swap out switches? Sounds like garbage as stock imo
65% is niche ?
The fuck u talking dude
only with their branded ones which are roughly the same quality
it was poorly said, i just don't understand why are 65% so mainstream
you get less space for mouse than 60% and you don't get the f row
@wooden glen the board wouldn't sound much different w diff switches anyways
so plastic keyboard would suit you better right?
there are not many 75% he/tmr that are metal
@void geyser know any?
75% he/tmr keyboard with what you deem as good sound
Looks better than a 75%
Capitalism
are wireless mouses good for gaming? or only good for looks? what should i get
the most common to niche would be
60 > 80 > 65 > 100 > 75 > 40
so i would hardly call 65 niche
And what niche is that
Interesting
non standard layout
i havent included ortho or alice in there for the same reason
Yeah a'so because ortho and Alice are the worst things to ever happen to a keyboard
lol
i like alice
I find them horrible to use
preference is preference
alot of people could say the same about this
i personally would not use tented
It's not really tented
split then
i personally heavily dislike split boards in general
freaky typing style
Count me in :D
That spacebar be leaning like Michael Jackson
Idk. Maybe?
asdfsAD L ASDFJHL ASDF;HASD'9enmvcoiemnejfusdlkdsf'jD
I don't have a camera, so this will have to do.
Shit, I should have put a rickroll at the end.
Very clickity clackity 🙃
@void geyser tofu like is ‘22
Best I can do is a picture and audio separately.
Tofu is also tasty asf.
Ooh! That explains it
I guess I could have held my phone and clicky clacked with one hand. 🤔
I should get a mount so I can use my phone as a webcam.
Looks like it costs more than $20 though.
I don't think I will use it often outside of Uni tbf.
That is a very convenient spot on your setup for it.
Looks nice.
Thank you
It's less than 20 for me, actually
Temu has a lot of good bargains if you know how to avoid obvious scams
i love this, what keyboard is that
Knob1
Small warning, very expensive.
how come you have it if it's in pre order ?
They sell in batches.
I have batch 1.
I see
It looks nice, but it's mx, I prefer choc switches for LP
still neat keyboard
Interesting, I have owned keyboards with either, what are your reasons?
I personally prefer mx.
It is more LP first lol, you also have more options for way lighter switches and the MAIN thing for me is the possibility of having choc-spacing
Choc spaced keyboard is the best thing ever imo, I have super small hands
With those caps it surely would.
Those are lp asf.
I love how Corne keebs look.
That's not a corne but a ferris sweep, but yeah it's quite close haha
Oh, mb.
I am haha, it's also super fun to do
And the main thing ... it's SOOOOO much cheaper than regular keyboards
So you can test way more stuff
Big appeal to mass market.
especially for you uk guys, there is a 1440p miniLED for 130 GBP rn
they have international shipping, to ship it to germany was 35 gbp for me, total of 186€ or 216USD, which still puts it about 40€ and 60 USD cheaper than the competition (depending on how much it is to ship to your country)
Nice, been looking for something like this for a long time
yeah this is probably in the top 3 deals i have seen in my life
would be a shame if their stock wouldnt be bought empty tbh
Absolutely, the same monitor is 500€ here
well that is always misleading, when there are 30 basically identical monitors only the cheapest one matters
just bc 1 monitor is not at a low price for 2 days, doesnt mean anything
Yeah
Still for this price it's super nice
I don't like minileds, way inferior to oleds, but it's already leagues better than conventional monitors
and at this price ...
yep, i have both (although the oled is 4k but doesnt matter)
and at this price you are not ashamed even if it becomes a 2nd monitor one day
Yeah
especially if you work from home and spend your free time in front of it, or like to fall asleep to movies on the monitor, its nice to not have these background burn in thoughts
I have no thoughts of that and i've been using oled for 5 years+
i cant turn them off
I don't even try to optimize anything tbh
but i use my pc 16 hours a day on 90% of my days
You should touch a tiny little bit of grass lol
and im a more anxious person in general, so im not the average user
Well usually they aren't entirely identical, like missing some io which is quite important for my setup
my roommate works at the grocery store, i basically only leave the house for dates and going on protests lol
i mean thats either a 5$ uplift or waiting a couple days until one with the correct io rotates to a good price
I've been looking for 6 months, monitors with both a decent refresh rate and usb c that supports dp alt mode are still far too rare
For work i'd say
I want to be able to use it with my work laptop without dealing with any dock or kvm, space is limited and they are usually not great
I use a work laptop, when I WFH I want to be able to easily plug/unplug it, and usb dp alt + charging is the best way to do it
Mine does have hdmi, but 2 cables is one too much
what do you need the 2nd one for then?
yeah I guess that's what @glad rivet wants to do too
havent used a laptop in 10+ years lol
I have 3 laptops for work lol
wild
And I don't have a monitor like I described so I usually don't even use the monitor lol
well tbf I just have my own personal computer running on the monitor and I don't work much anyway ....
tbf im also kinda thinking about a laptop for my setup, i dont think i will actually go with that but having the ability to e.g. write someone on discord or whatsappweb without tabbing out or using a kvm is quite nice
Or just use your phone...
Yeah, well gaming monitors rarely are super nice with work features
i rather rab out, unlocking phone and having to use a phone keyboard instead of a real one is rarely what i prefer
i even have my phone linked to my pc so i can sometimes control it via my pc
so i do the opposite xD
What kind of ancient phone do you use that takes more than half a second to unlock
there's a hdmi port but plugging and unplugging that clunky connector is not nice... it's mostly a refusal to compromise on my part
picking it up and using faceid / fignerprint < alt + tab
