Isn't it a rhombus anyways
Thats what she said
is she an interviewer?
Hahahah’
5qr1 You’re so funny
another chinese slop brand
they never learn..
it’s like wartime propaganda
better than japanslop
It has cocoa cream v2
i feel like a veteran watching the next generation get conscripted
What
the arrow keys on hhkb
i don’t use my hhkb for vim
Or are you on tkl
cause uhh i might have got too used to arrow keys
That makes it so much worse
i’m on a full-size
cause i have vendetta against harvesting for some reason
i really don’t know why
IT WORKS MAN
i mean it's probably okay, but i wouldn't get it
i am on TKL
i could've bought a 75% but i just didn't
on nightly build
i think we all know they should just buy a hhkb or realforce 87u
@jolly dagger wtf exactly would you recommend for 100 eur keyboard on austria because I'm all out of ideas
No
Moe
this is like denying free money
i am lowkey giving you free money
cause the hhkb will last your entire life
Yeahhh bbaovanc
Warshipped
it’s on my side now
It's a movie.quote :/
Its like 500000€ shipping and some Japanese guy probably shit on it or something
i couldn’t really read it
"I'm mad as hell and I'm not gonna take this anymore".upper()
brother the shipping is €35 absolute maximum
are you aware you clean clean things
Its in yen
No
also
yen is ass
can they not get akko/monsgeek kb or lemokey?
What does that mean
or keychron?
Cc @trail bobcat
those are brands
can't be worse than RK
once u can convert yen to ur currency in ur head its easy
or just use their converter
it’s the same slop man
@fervent breach is the type of guy to not like a neo60 core either
keychron is the only ok mx company but i think topre is still miles better
is it mx
yes it is probably
Yes, fortunately
i hate it
I gotta buy one
i’m gonna switch to acme just because you use vim
membrane keyboard:
membrane keyboard, japan:
What is acme
electrocapacitive
Erm ackrually it doesn't have a membrane
text editor file manager It is a lot of things for plan9 os
if you don’t know what plan9 is google it
it’s really neat
Plan9 equivalent of emacs?
it's not a 7-eleven it's a konbini
can I get X11 on plan9 and use acme as my wm
they also have a “sam” text editor
that's a requirement for me
but i don’t know a thing about it
no you cannot
completely different philosophies
it needs wayland
This is the only one available is it good
GOD i hate wayland
if it has server side decorations and doesn't have gnome or canonical then its off to a good start
@jolly dagger
https://buyee.jp/mercari/item/m93627105346?conversionType=Mercari_DirectSearch
this one’s kinda bad and expensive i can’t be bothered to look
i think plan9 kernel is like 2000 loc or something like that
do you think it has a gnome equivalent
cinema
bro plan9 is a completely different operating system from any unixlikes
that's why it's bad
Is this good
I only like posix
it is the spiritual successor of unix made at bell labs
no bro it’s an incredible feat of software engineering
and it is a driving force of inspiration behind lots of linux features
like /proc namespaces uhh
idk i forgot i don’t really care about linux
you know what else is an incredible feat is hyprland yet look how unstable it is :/
i hate you
🐇
Im just gonna ask chat gpt for recommendations
hyprland is not an incredible feat of software engineering 😭
The file abstraction is god
it’s a wayland compositor
everything is file
seems fine
yeah i like that
Okay
i think they’re stupid for not throwing out users though
i have lowkey been secretly designing my own os
lowkirkuinely?
come on man aren’t you like 30 and bald
i’m not even out of high school
lmao
Ok
I am 20 don't make me feel old
Unc
20 is not old
but you’re far older than me
I think the world can tell
How the hkhbhkhb keyboard lasted you couple years when you basically the same age as me
hhkb
happy hacking keyboard
they brought him into the cult when he was very young
also it didn’t last only me 20 years
it has been ran through by like 500 different owners probably
or maybe just 1 very loyal guy
I just let one rip
OKAY
OKAY
@trail bobcat can we make an agreement
if you watch this incredible youtube video i will shut the fuck up
that's why its value is so low
Its 100% a virus
You know topre is nice but alps is still better
bro thinks a YouTube video is a virus
This is how I lost interest towards mechanical keyboards through my keyboard adventures from 2013 to 2020.

...
people are either so paranoid of websites nowadays or they will click on anything
Anything can be a virus
no it cannot be
It can
also what do you mean “a virus”
I bought my realforce as a holdover until I built my skcm brown board but it’s been like 9 years and I’ve been too lazy to start
what’s gonna happen
you're gonna install your virus which purchases an hhkb pro 2 from buyee
the humble web standard:
oh NO
Seems like hell
people act like the internet id just a large collection of rces
Internet users when they realize their browser sandboxes every tab
it kinda is tbh
yep it’s completely possible to download and run a program without any user input from a website
web standards are in place to stop people from doing exactly what we’re talking about
everything's a collection of thousands of RFCs
not in this case
WHAT
you won't find any w3c standard that says tabs must be sandboxed
what case
its just a thing that's obvious to do in the modern world
what a stupid argument
you're just saying stuff 😭
you can’t get malware from clicking on a link unless you really really try
end of story
HOW
you’re just saying stuff son
elite level ragebait
the sandboxing is there to prevent vulnerabilities from escaping, not because they made a protocol for you to execute code on the host from a website
Yall think this 10€ mousepad will do fine
i am not gonna pretend like i am a master of networking and how the internet and web browsers work cause it is not my expertise
I am
It's my expertise
but i know u can’t just run around running arbitrary code on someone’s machine that can access system resources
you can when there's a vulnerability in the browser design or code, that's why the advice exists
well okay yeah you can make a website and itll use their memory and compute if you want to do that
yes bro but no one is that leet
and it’s probably browser specific
well he told me he’s on ios
so it’ll be safari
so if i was super awesome i could have like
safari vuln
and use a hyperlink or something
I'd waste a 0day on you just to shut you up
but i am not that awesome and cool
bro just saying key words
they are the correct key words
average computer scientist
I'm glad you recognized
what are you
bro is black hat
You're not rich enough for that
yeah it’s for satirical means
idk why i just use capitals when i am being satirical
or uhh
idont know man you know what i mean
I have a safari 0day and will be using it to install a rat on @trail bobcat ‘s phone
it will never happen
idk much about ios but a rat is probably impossible anyway
Yeah nothing will ever happen again thanks to MTE
thanks apple for ruining all the fun
Ive seen rats coming out if toilets
You never know
💯
rat
remote access trojan
not the uhh
animal
Like in the tom and jerry
yeah jerry is in fact a mouse
On da school computer
this is why we all need to regress
Was that from the aula75
the great computing reset
we all have to go back to i386
also kill the internet
I saw some guy on r/mk saying their aula75 installed a virus, but it turned out someone probably flashed malware and returned it, then amazon sold it new in box
holy crap
i gotta do that
i always had an idea of once my topre collection is completed
just selling it all
it would be REALLY funny if i flashed malware to every single board
Mode sixtyfive, Alu plate, Lubed Blue Cheese v2’s (52g spring), Lubed Knight v4 stabs, half latice block.
Basically I have been looking at OLED monitors for a while and seems like the mass discount periods just ended, now I’m wondering what monitor I should get. I got a 9070XT and I pretty much want the best monitor possible. My room can be dark and bright, but most o the time lights are off so it’s rather dark, I’m considering tandem OLED cause it’s so much better on paper but I’m hesitant due to it costing more and people say they have a lot of issues with tandem OLED. Idk if I should get tandem / QD-OLED or regular older gen models. Budget is like up to 8000 SEK (Swedish crowns) but it has to be good price - value. Anyway the one I have leaned most towards is the xg27aqwmg, which is not in stock anywhere in my country, but they’ll restock soon in like early February so it’ll be fine waiting. Anyway if u got other ideas please say so and tell me why you think it’s a better idea. I’d rather not go too much over my budget but a bit is fine if it’s real good value. Also do I get 1440p or 4k for my gpu? Should I wait for smth to release? Should I get a bigger screen like an ultrawide or 27”?
ur typing is very gentle, like sweeping through keys
Headphones:
old headphones razor kraken i am open to try something new like iem and other stuff
price:60-100
pref: Good audio Good bass (high quality audio) very comftable to wear with glases
country:germany
near by stores: none
so i am very willing to try out sometthing new like open back end and in ear headphones if they are the big headphones i realy liked that the shell was going over your ear
took u 2 years to buy a proper custom keyboard
maybe another year until ur first gmk set
sorry for your loss
what
i’m saying that i hate the agar because it isn’t topre
it has a topre version i know
but i also know you’re too poor to get it
you’ve never tried ec
i have
ur rubber dome is meh
let people use what they want
i like it
if u want a board soundas dead yeah
nah it sounds fine
i built it with keycaps i just have lying around (some shitty dye sub caps) and without any stabilisers
sounds like someone who grew up on broadband and not the good era of internet
the amount of enthusiasts complaining about wear (shine) on gmk is insane ngl
Is abs, it will happen gmk or not
vibrant pbt started to appear so it kinda feels meh to pay $80+ for such sets
They sound ass
Also if u dont know how to touch typing these days thats a skill issue
gmk good
Any trackball enthusiasts?
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TWxII5fjVkk
Grab yourself a Pint Glass at https://craftcomputing.store
I've used Trackballs since the 90s, and always preferred they to standard mice. But it wasn't until 2018 that I finally found a trackball that completely replaced mice for me... The Elecom HUGE is the perfect combination of comfort, ergonomics and customization, and I've never looked ba...
Hello, I'm going to buy a mouse tonight, I was just wondering about a few things. I Got some choices:
$15 Attack Shark X11 (Paw3311) 62 grams
$20 VXE R1 SE (Paw3395SE) ~51 grams
$25 AJ179P (Paw3395) ~55 grams
$26 Attack Shark X3 (Paw2295) ~49 grams
They all come with magnetic charging stations
To be honest I love the way the attack sharks look, especially the cheaper X11, so is it worth it going for the other options, and is there actually a difference?
I recommend buying wired mice instead, no charging ever, plug and play anywhere.
most importantly no latency
I'm coming from a wired mouse, I wanna try something new. Also they come with cables anyway so
I had a 120 gram walmart Onn gaming mouse before (:
budget attackshark isnt that reliable
they have a diasterous attack shark r1
terrible qc
i dont know if they did it better
regular old aj179 is like $16
pas3395
ok nvm it has been too long since it was discontinued, no longer in stock
Honestly I'm tempted to just get the X11 cause of the way it looks and the magnetic charging station. I was wrong the other ones don't have it
i wonder how good/bad the m348 with paw3395 mouses are, if they even have paw3395
they go for like $10
check reviews if it doesn’t have qc or bad build issues such as creaking, poor skates, meh coating, grindy button implementation, too much pre-travel or post-travel (either by shell or bad switches)
ok i found one for 7 💀
there no way- yeah i’ll buy one
hmmm 6400dpi and 20g yeah that’s surely paw3395 and that sensor placement, sus.
and not going to mention the lack of branding
welp, then there is the delux m900pro
AFAIK the latency difference between dongle and wired is almost none
i guess aj179 v1 was one of a kind
deal
@rugged grove do you need a charging station?
I got the X11 and that has it 😂
purely based on looks. I figured I've been just fine with a $20 walmart mouse for 6 years and I only sold it cause I wamted to get a wireless mouse so it should be morebthan fine
A reviewer actually said he'd take the X11 over the X1 and X3 any day if he used it for work, and it's fine for gaming.
yeah btw paw3395se is some paw3335 refresh
totally fine but far from 3395
it depends on the implementation
I just noticed today I was at 500hz instead of 1000 on the mouse I jist sold and I didn't even notice a difference switching to 1000 playing cs2
yeah, unsure about that one
it’s like high performance low feature sku
doesn’t officially support or list programmable LoD
but you say it’s enough then it’s enough, no need to overspend for a mice, even if the sensor is worse you will very likely not notice
a good implementation of 3311 will beat a poor implementation of 3395 (like when they put on some cheap soc)
hey, my logi options+ app just wont work like it gets stuck on the loading screen any one have any help?
please ping me if you do
reinstallation ?
Has anybody used the Fifine apligame D6 stream controller, and how is it to use
Has anyone had any issues with using a USB-C hub connected to a monitor and a couple of peripherals where when the computer wakes up from sleep, the monitor does not come back on? I have to unplug the dock, and plug it back in for the monitor to come back online.
The laptop I am using is a Lenovo Thinkpad T14s running on Windows 11 and the Snapdragon X Elite chip.
Any help is greatly appreciated!
I tried that already didn’t seem to do anything
im paying for the whole FN key im gonna use the whole FN key
mouse controls are for when i use this board at work and dont have an actual mouse
how does bro use the arrow keys?
thats the second later
arrows in first layer
you know just buy a neo98 and svae all the troubles
what does bros first layer look like?
like a normal keyboard
how do you enable your layers
I just bought a GMMK3 Open-Box on Amazon from Glorious and while putting switches in noticed what could be a potential issue. It looks like it might be damaged. Does this appear to be damaged to anyone else? Should I send it back for a replacement? Thanks in Advance.
if you have any spare switches id just test it before building it
oh i thought thatd be a rctrl
broken yeah
work like my fn key
u should return it
gmmk was never good lol
i mean id test it first just to see if it does work
without any chattering or other silly things that is
it literally seperated from the pcb
is the logi master worth a shot?
keyboards
how come for 27in 1080p monitors the price for low and high refresh rate ones (new) are so close to each other?
but why arent 60hz ones cheaper
tbh 1080p is not bad at all at 27in unless ur shoving ur face into it
(imo)
What the
just shook mine...its the scrollwheel.. seems to be spongy to the right but stiff to the left
just buy the mx master 4 no balls
some are some aren't, depends on the panel.
ok
i have a g502 it does that
or pass logitech altogether
there are ambidextrous mouses from different brands and offrer better specs for cheaper
mx master 4 is also 125hz which is really bad
for office ig ok
but competition offrers 1khz or more
i'm not sure why logi decided to throttle mx4 so much
i guess another product segregation
why does the logitech master have rubber skid pads instead of teflon x-x
arent even rounded just sharp edges
cheap ig
can’t find any other reason
does the OP looks like a gamer lol
they need an oficie mouse and mx master 4 í good for it
there are ambidextrous mouses with better sensor out there
cheaper as well
im not a logitech fan but yeah, those mx masters nailed it
alot of office workers use it
paying $100 for a mouse and getting some low end sensor that’s even throttled by logitech feels just meh, like yeah it saves battery but they don’t allow you to increase it
most buyers of that wont care, they cared about their solid design and those alu scrolls
is a cool mouse indeed
Also new monitor acquired
until you learn about m6 8khz
i dont need 8k hz to work with my excel thanks
8khz is a gimmick but the upgrades are there including an alu scroll wheel
you can always throttle it down to much more reasonable ranges that drain battery less
logitech limits you to 125hz regardless
and thats all most people who bought that mouse needs
they are heavy, not capable of being a gaming mouse but made the mouse feels more"premium"
for some people heavy mouses can be fatiguing
the 8khz keychron is 30% less than mx 4
in price
the 1khz is 50%
and the lowest end with paw3311 (still prob better sensor wise but i don’t rec it) is 60% off
Is this one a good keyboard (70€)
it's broken
no, they're crap, atleast before master 4, they break and the coating perishes
if you want a work mouse, ironically the g502x wireless would be a better buy
if money is an issue for you, maybe dont buy a new mouse. I will buy what I want
im buying it
Could someone send me a switch tester please? I need it just to pick what suits me the most so ik what to get and i finna return it
I cant find any in my country
hey yall whats a good alternative to the drop alt v2? Ive seen videos of some epomaker keyboards that look nice or maybe the Aula F75
Neo75
U mean
Yes!
Great ill just use my non existing card and wait for 2-3 weeks
Also 30€ for 20 switches
Is just years of dedicatipn buying and getting them from meets lol
For buying the switches later on you still need a card and 2-3 weeks lol
If you are picking blind just figure out the actuation force you like (you only need one reference for that, may be from your actual keyboard or from a friend. Then just research which switch it has, its actuation force, and think: would I like this to be lighter/heavier or is this perfect?) and for sound you can just listen online
What are you talking about dude
The battery that lasts longer than the average marrige id wager. Still. They could've at least made it like. A 1k hz obscure toggle somewhere where office Sue won't accidently click it and wonder why her mouse needs charging every 3 weeks
I know this is gonna sound stupid but it's for being quieter when bumping it into things
It's actually seriously over engineered. Not a cost cut. I disassembled a 3S to steal it's switches
Horizontal scrolling is hard to leave once you actually have workflow with it. That being said. Keychron m6....is not quite there yet.
The 8k revision is so close
After about 2 weeks the sorta "full palm" grip the ergo forces you into fixes it. If coming from a lifetime of slim mouse muscle memory though. Yeah it's gonna feel awful for a while
you know you can hold shift to horizontal scroll right...
you don't need a dedicated button for it
/ dedicated wheel
Google sheets and Excel have many more operations bound with shift.
There's all sorts of ways to shortcut and macro all kinds of things, but I think it's fair to say freeing a modifier key is a pretty big boon
logitech m100

???? you just need to press shift while you're scrolling huh
I know I may come off as a logishill but id recommend anyone interested in the MX the keychron m6 on software alone
Fkin logi options can't even run on a secure machine
if you really want to you can re bind one of the buttons to shift on your mouse
or if you've got a mouse with scroll tilt, you can bount left and right to shift + scroll up or shift + scroll down
To you it seems so simple right? But have you actually daily a mouse with a horizontal wheel
M6 1k is like $40
Give it a shot
To me horizontal scroll is quite annoying since its just a button, rather than an analog input like the vertical scroll
Yup. That's exactly what the horizontal wheel solves
It makes it intuitive
Its muscle memory instantly
What
If I just wanted a button I would use the arrow keys (in most scenarios where it does the same)
Otherwise I prefer shift+scroll because it's smooth
Are you possibly mistaking what I mean for a horizontal tilting vertical wheel?
This is what you described just without shift
I have one. I've had one for probably 10+ years now
It doesn't rotate sideways freely, its just a tilt you can hold down? In every horizontal scroll mouse I've ever seen
Is it able to roll horizontally? Or just tilt like a button almost
Nah this is a pretty high resistance smooth full 360 motion barrel
you can roll it horizontally?
Yes
Wanna see the mechanism?
That doesn't look like it would geometrically work
If it rolled it'd hit the mouse buttons
All mx masters have had a freely spinning side scrolling wheel that works the same as normal scroll wheels
Except the other direction obviously
I don't understand how that could be
The encoder lays flat instead of being on an axle like a vertical wheel
Now he gets it
Try it
I think you should've led with that because I'm guessing the other people above thought what I did
I don't blame you. I think there's only like 3 actually common mice that even have it (-revisions)
I might be in the market for a new mouse at some point, but it seems like all modern mice have super high debounce and I can't use the double click technique thing
i think i’d save for the 3395 version
i’m not sure of the 3311
sensors as a whole
Their website also lists a 3950
Is this where clicking towards the very top of the mouse let's you open a folder instantly?
No, if you hit the button at the right speed then your finger jumps up and falls back down in one motion
Eh. Price of admission kinda thing. $40 to try something unorthodox is a lot easier of a pill to swallow than $60
Two physical clicks but too quickly and usually get blocked on newer mice
it’s $10
difference
idk what’s the sensor performance of the 3311 ver.
Would it be 'better'
Assuming someone's willing to spend $20
it has some upgrades, the 8khz is a gimmick
which I am
Is that what this is called? Debounce? I've always ended up adding another layer between the housing and microswitch to get this
Well probably not
the software has a debounce delay (i.e. 4ms) where if it receives multiple clicks during that time, it only registers it as one
i mean that sounds like skill issue
So a firmware workaround for a faulty switch?
you have manuals for that
That's bs
I mean you have to have some debounce, but IMO its too high
Surely my g502 Proteus spectrum has some but not as high of an amount
Right because how would you distinguish momentary
Because anything mechanical will bounce at least a little for a tiny period
I guess this delay has generally been imperceptible to me
but somehow it works fine on my g502, I never get ghost clicks
It seems to use the same old leaf spring mechanical switch that any other does
It's this
The times where I double click, it turns it into one
the vertical scroll doesn't really do much when you already know how to it even before the vertical scroll wheel
Indeed. Esp if you come home to something with a proper polling rate
Its mouse abuse but i don't care
that or just use a macbook
not too much to ask
i think the worst thing for me is the coating
what is this Bluetooth or something
as with most things "rubber coated" it has an expiration date
also the mcu and they didn’t use the absolutely most efficient sensor ever
because imagine using 125 hz mouse on a 240 hz display
I'm gonna kill the stupid double tap react feature
you can feel it even on a 60hz display
because of the syncing
yeah fuck that
I think of it like....when you're binding a macro. Would you rather make another ctrl+shift among the hundreds more
Or....caps lock? Nah let's make that Fn2.
It's an intuitive accessible function.
Is your hand made of acid wtf
Worth every penny indeed
Is mx master feature
or hear me out, you're not executing macros as you're scrolling, just press the shift and scroll up and down to go left and right
They wears
is it that kinda grippy texture
Nah 3S decided to be made of a material magnetically attracted to human skin oils
That photo is not mine thankfully, but same thing happened to my original MX master
technically your skin does release a bit of le chemicals
Well I guess I'm glad that you haven't built a dependence on it
I can't say the same
I'd even argue it's even worse for your thumbs
and your wrist
counterpoint: MX ergo
There's a point where ergonomics becomes a fashion show and that's one of them
why is it like Norwegian in the search suggestions when I search for g305
Aw yea we love china peripherals
the last logi mouse i considered to be fine
Not even being sarcastic
they’re innovative and cheap what do i hav to say
I use the American branded $100 version of this
My original mx master still looks fine after 10 years, just shiny
That type of mouse shape is probably what I should try next
I keep coming back to the r6, I've got it set to 4k hz, it's using optical switches, the MCU and Sensor combo is great, the firmware is decent
I feel like 8khz is wasted if you're still going to use mechanical switches
1khz is plenty for me
i just want good coating, good skates, non creaky shell
switches that aren’t too stiff or grindy implementation
Le pebble?
No that looks huge and annoying
Cosearth
it used to have a web driver, but now I downloaded a local one
i’m happe with my vxe r1 pro
Why not all of em
oh a decent mouse too
the battery could be better tho, too smol
eloshapes doesn't even have my specific mouse
Ct210 tips baby
bro's mouse too underground
I hate that iron and similar irons like it
Yep, same very recently happened to my mx 3s. Wasn’t even 2 years old, but stupid rubber coating decided to start getting sticky.
Never again rubber on a mouse for me. Now Ive got a keychron m6 silent for work. No rubber surfaces anywhere on that but very similar shape. Only thing i miss is the mx’ scroll wheel
same, i'm assuming you mean the inifnite scroll thing that logi has right?
Luckily JBC designed some tips that make the shittiest cordless irons viable
Yep
you can't escape physics
now i understand why some people were complaining about PS5 PCBs
why does the keychron have that lump
tbh 3950 is overkill but lower optional lod and better efficiency is welcome for a lot of users
no, there's a thing called heat soaking
when you use it on a PCB, the iron needs to put more heat into the piece that you're working with, these small cordless irons / usbc irons can't keep up most of the time
ironically I use a higher LOD
as you go sub 1.0 it makes it more inconsistent
Keychron M6 is a shape clone of the logitech mx master series. If you want a flatter style look at the M7
(Using that ones 8k version for gaming)
2.4mm is fine for me
3.6mm too high
1.2mm also fine
haven’t tried 0.8mm
When the heating element is in the tip itself this is mitigated. But you don't have much surface area to work with. Even K tip is barely half inch
also this is coming from a person who has used tons of them, i currently run ts80p + power bank for my portable kit / precision kit then a plug in for home use
also what’s up with the paw 3395se
surface area can help, but it legit just can't put in much heat
why is it everywhere
what is it really, like closest thing i found is that it’s some 3335 refresh
think it's a slight upgrade to 3395
M6 (foreground) vs M7
no
I bet this a nightmare on any PCB thicker than a fingernail
it’s a downgrade and definitely not a 3395
looks like something older that has been refreshed
that's what i'm saying, I don't like cordless irons for this
most keyboard pcbs are 1.6mm thick
I can respect that take. Luckily haven't run into that yet
Gotten deep enough to look into a proper station tho
I couldn't find my big iron and this was a bitch and a half to do
since the heat keeps wicking away on my ts80p

Essentially problem boils down to
Compensate for thick board with more heat = higher and higher chance your melt thru your pad
Right?
no, your pad (assuming it's adhered correctly) shouldn't lift
Cold joint?
no, sometimes the copper layers are not adhered properly to the fr4 substrate
do you guys have irons with the element in the.tip instead of a heater core
it depends from manu to manu, but cheap pcbs suffer from this alot, ie early modern boards like magicforce /rk61 they suffer from weak ass pads
that would be an active tip, think my ts80p is one
Yeah after oxidizing the shit out of the all the tips with ceramic core iron we moved up to the sticks
the alternative would be a passive heater
i prefer a good passively heated iron if I'm doing alot of work
if it's a quick solder job, your usb iron should work depending on what you're working with
Soldered switches. Man. Hotswap itself is already a long enough endeavour
Bet it's worth it
Stable
hotswap is alright, i prefer it too, but sometimes you need solder to get weird layouts
Thinking of transplanting an air 75 board to a lowfree plate and case. That's not the hard part. Its the daughter boards I'm too timid pull the trigger on
Until I find an example of someone else doing it
Aluminum

Plus my air75 case is chipped after spudging it open like 50 times
Lowfree flow takes apart like youd expect
Oh yeah lowfree is also a proper gasket mount. Rare in low profile
it's freya friday
Nama is disgusting ICL
when my keyboard cost more than my GPU
financially responsible*
i thought u do hard drugs
Keyboards might as well be drugs
you know spend a bit more
and u will get an actual tourbillion watch
not a watch guy i see
very nice
I have a pr100
Thre's some chinese moders who already put movement inside the nama
chinesium tourbillion machines aint tourbillion machines
thats like those replica luxury watches
meh
cool either way but i still can't think of a good reason to get the nama
atleast with the freya it's visually unique and comes in nice colours + the nice porthole screen
the nama is just an overweight 75% with lumps
and a fake ass movement that doesn't do anything
is the mamooth 75 $100 yet
That doesn't even look visible
i want to buy a new mouse too i am not a competetive gamer i do editing a lot what would be and recommendation? (i am on a tight budget nothing more than 15)
G203 is the minimum mouse I would truly recommend but its like $20 (maybe you can find it at $15 idk)
At $15 I would be looking at any generic mouse. Ofc theres the thing that, if a $15 mouse lasts you 1.5 years, but a $20 mouse lasts you 4, you are saving quite a bit in the long term
The Sam Vimes theory of socioeconomic unfairness, often called simply the boots theory, is an economic theory that people in poverty have to buy cheap and subpar products that need to be replaced repeatedly, proving more expensive in the long run than more expensive items. The term was coined by English fantasy writer Sir Terry Pratchett in his ...
^ the article that explains why maybe you should expend a little bit more
Looking for a cheap but still good 27 inch or larger 1080 - 1440p monitor (have an rtx 4060 ti 8g)

Chat, I'm wondering if Titan Otemu red switches can be used on my RedDragon Kumara K552 keyboard
Depends on the pcb
Atk flagship carbon composite frame mouse
I saw that it's compatible with Otemu style switches, but I'm not entirely sure
How many holes they have
Ok so they are 3 pin hotswap
If ur switch only has 3 pins it will be compatible
Cool
wish i'd not be holed
Picked up this bad boy on sale the other day for CAD$499.99. not seeing much about it on YouTube, but I love the thing. I'm assuming its the same pannel tech as their other Odyssey monitors... Anyone else have this model?
It's a samsung panel for sure
MSI had a 27" 240hz OLED on sale for 530 CAD
Ah damn didnt see that hahaha
bought one for my wife, it was down from like 1200
Shit.
Oh well, I'm on oled now at least. My phone is no longer the best screen I own😆
based
s25 ultra?
ooo
Worst purchase of my life
yea folding isnt all its cracked up to be yet
Cover screen cracked, and it hasn't had the front screen protector for about 2.5 years
Hi all, wanted to share my latest hyperfixation: the PinOne mini machine by Cleveland software design
If you enjoy messing around with sim racing hardware you’ll love the virtual pinball scene. The amount of effort the community puts into tables is insane.
what’s a good keyboard i use the rk 61 royal kludge atm
good cheap or good expensive
what’s your budget
£50 💀
If you play FPS some newer models have features that will improve your ability to strafe, my steelseries calls it rapid tap where A and D will overide by the last input
Banned in CS but not in others
i play minecraft roblox a bit of fortnite a bit of cod uhh
so
It's a firmware feature you may be able to emulate with software
But it would give an advantage in fortnite and COD
hey, that’s enough to buy a keyboard with full aluminum casing
i’ve used the rk61 royal kludge for about 4 years
different kbs tho
some have broke
i like the features
like holding fn to do slash
etc
The FUN60 Pro is in your price range and has the features I was talking about
search like qmk keyboard on aliexpress or aluminum keyboard if you don’t like any, gotta watch a 2025/2026 review for them though, keyboards outade quickly nowadays
i recommend getting a web software keyboard if not qmk
MonsGeek FUN Series: FUN60 Magnetic Switch Keyboard! It’s time to be revolutionary and make something different. Highlights: Cross-compatible with Major Magnetic Switches Hot-swappable with 5-Pin Mechanical Switches (MagMech Compatible, TMR Version only) 0.01mm RT for Superior Gaming 32K Dynamic Scan Rate for Lightning
unless you’re fine with extra junk on your pc
these aren’t that good outside the tech
with the rk61 go to do ? i need to do shift fn and slash i like these features
is there any like tha
Only going off the optimum tech recommendation honestly, but haven't seen anything else under 50 pounds with snap tap and quick reset
@void geyser how good or bad is silakka 54?
yes the keyboard is good when it comes to technical stuff such as the switches
but probably not the rest such as sound, quality of materials
@strong ermine ricck rs8 could be cool maybe? cheapest tkl qmk kb i could find that’s probably easily accessible
can you link amazon gave me a £120 one lmfao
check on aliexpress
if i send you the link it will show you like £120 as well
there is also lemokey x series qmk stuff
and as of keyboards if you don’t need qmk, check the suggestions that have been made here
you should find some solid aluminum ones
i haven’t properly looked into keyboards for a longer time myself so you’re at your own sorry
anyways i think it stills works like this:
qmk ✅ quality materials ✅ hall effect ❌
qmk ✅ quality materials ❌ hall effect ✅
qmk ❌ quality materials ✅ hall effect ✅
on tight budgets
if you go tigther you won’t be able to do even two options
obviously that might have changed with some recent keyboard but i’m not aware
don’t know what qmk or hall effect means
some keyboards feature qmk chips that’s great for open source firmware/software
and hall effect works on magnet sensors that detect promimity, like you can set your keys when they trigger and when they reset
during their travel
i’m bout to just go with my rk61 again
keyboards evoked too much
evolved
i don’t recommend getting a new rk61
typing on a bomb
wdym
mine only broke because of me
my bottle fell on it and water damaged it
so
Just save more money
what would you recommend then
i need one soon i ain’t got keyboard
Whats ur budget
all sound out 😭
sold
are 60% shit now ?
i like designs like the rk
but the one you sent is out stock
so idk what to get
What do you mean design
like
if i wanna do ?
i do fn slash and shift
They all offer it
Rk is like tge worst possible
ik
that’s why i’m askin for a good keyboard 😭
this out of stock
so don’t know what to buy
Just browsr
The website
I aaw u as a basic user and doesnt care much abput modding
@bitter oar any recs
what pisses me off about the rk61 is it swaps between alt and windows some times
it’s so annoying
U acxidently press a keybind to make ot hapen
not realyl into split myself, but it's a good board from what I've seen
any one you would recommend for me?
sounds like its time to not buy another one and save your money.
i need a new one
i can’t play on my pc
without a kb
i had that one sine christmas two years ago
idk what to buy
my friend is offering that to me for free
since he doesn’t need
but is that any good
anyone more educated than me wanna take a look at this?
@worldly garden any recommendations then?
A free kb is a free kb
i mean for future
Save more
i want a good keyboard for future but the one you linked ain’t in stock
i have £75 budget
^
how much do i need
is it more than 125
i can get around £125 if that’s a good range
is this good for gaming and all that tho
oh
Thoughts on 34" ultrawide?
Budget I set was £600 (GBP) but was willing to wiggle a bit
Currently suggested
https://www.amazon.co.uk/MSI-MPG-341CQPX-QD-OLED-Monitor/dp/B0CYDHK2KN £629 - though on amazon says 1 month delivery
https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B0CX8Z9JLH £749
Thoughts on these? Was also suggested waiting for gen5 but wasnt sure when theyre coming out or how much theyll cost..
Gonna be used for gaming and music production
Combining the advantages of OLED and Quantum Dot technology, the MPG 341CQPX QD-OLED gaming monitor is designed for discerning gamers who enjoy fast-paced genres with ultra-realistic colour accuracy.
Thoughts on this as an upgrade? https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0FLM15Q5L/?coliid=I3KAQOCO3C9EQ5&colid=JGVMRHE4J3VW&th=1
IMO when you nail down size and panel type the next question is OSD/feature preference. Mine is MSI for their simple OSD and transparently labeled HDR modes.
Also happens to be the cheapest in this case, which is my next criteria
Ok I roughly get it, any examples you can give so I can just help you help me? 😄
split?
huh
Well that board I was talking about with kven is a split keyboard, do you want split board recommendations as well?
What layout, 75? 60? 65?
60 pref
If you want hall effect, probably win60
or fun60
either of them have decent drivers
that one right?
yep
but i'd probably go more for
Metal Case
TMR, web driver, good switches
the black one isnt metal :brokn
💔
and my whole setup is black so 💀
Get Gigabyte G27Q2 EK (160eur) or M27Q2 EK (220eur)? Is the 80eur worth it? or get other monitor? (i'd want 27", qhd with decent hz, mostly used for video editing and gaming)
the only upgrade would be the quantum dot. You decide if the added colour will be worth $80 for you.
If you can go to a store and check similar panels, one with QD and another without, then it can help you make a decision
But yeah Id prefer a simnpler OSD, more of a set and forget person. I dont want to constantly be tweeaking RGB / gamma (these type of settings) or jump between loads of different modes based on what Im doing, I usually leave things as is, maybe afew settings get changed but by using guides or just what people recommend but struggle to find this specific thing.
On my current OLED Ive basically left brightness at around 60%, just being cautious about burn in, but Ive seen people run them much brighter. So just want the monitor to manage the settings itself if possible rather than having to constatly change them myself. I want HDR to work when it's on (havent actually used it at all on my current screen I dont think..) and SDR to look good when HDR is off.
Hello, i'd like to ask if anyone knows. but does the Apple Pro Thunderbolt 5 USB-C to C work on Android/Windows that support TB5 ?
It should yeah
It's just a Thunderbolt 5 compliant cable so it should work on anything that supports Thunderbolt 5.
ah ok thanks guys, i was just wanting to make sure. i know apple requires "handshakes" witha lot of their peripherals, so i just wanted to make sure they didnt do that kind of stuff with their TB5 cables. thanks :)
what about it
Whats up
Are there any modern PC cases that have personality & design and aren't just. Rectangles with glass panes? I love my old thermaltake, but it's pretty small and I don't really have room to cable manage
Idk if a case counts as a peripheral lol
Hi, I have this monitor "Acer Nitro XV275K P5", and due to the circular shape of the VESA mount area, it only supports 75x75mm VESA brackets, however I am legit unable to find any 75x75mm VESA monitor arms that have ONLY 75x75mm... What are the alternatives (sorry i was not sure where to put this)
i got only two spacers/standoffs with my monitor, will they be enough?
anyone need some Portuguese RAM modules? insane!!!
PORTUGUESE OR BROKEN KNEES
portugal didn't want to go brazil but got pulled anyways
??? Portugal is a european country, Brazil is south America
I don't know if anyone can even help, but I am interested in a new keyboard. I don't think I can afford one with hotswappable keyswitches, and I'm consistently being told MX Blues are utter crap by people. My current keyboard is a Cooler Master Masterkeys L with MX Blues, and it's showing its age. Problems are
1: I need Nordic layout keycaps so it has to be ISO
2: I want clicky switches
3: I want a 100% keyboard
4: I don't have money spare (having to save up for this keyboard) so it can't be imported to Norway, it has to basically be on sale here or at least in the EEA.
All things that represent a minority of keyboards on offer, a quadruple whammy
Oh and I also don't want low profile
brazil used to be a portuguese colony
was trying to make a joke
and Thomas Cochrane a scottish admiral that used to work for the royal navy liberated it from the portugese 🙂 and chased them over the atlantic picking them of one by one :p
keychron v5?
then just buy some clicky switches
so
on my keyboard
one of my switches is cooked
like it wont work
or it will hold the button
i have the rk61
what switches would work
is it hotswap? if no do you own a soldering iron
yeah its hot swappable
Looking up Keychron V5 that doesn't look like a 100% layout?
it was "a" that was broke
any 3 pin switch will work (or 5 pin and you clip switches)
taske it out and plug it again
but i took the switch from my key next to l
check if the pins are bent
ive tried
its 96%
agar soundtest ?
right, I specified 100%
you lose 4 keys but save like $100
I spilt a drink on it didnt i I think i told you this this is why I was gonna order new keyboard
but it was working yesterday
you are probably fucked then
now not anymore
save more or buy another slop
i think its a 2 pin 💀
i got 110£ for a kb rn
do u want a custom keyboard
show socket?
on the pin theres 2 metal prongs
That's not very helpful. What do you mean I save $100?
my keyboards 2 years old so
Keychron V6 (UK-ISO, DE-ISO, ES-ISO, FR-ISO, Nordic-ISO, SW-ISO) is a full-sized custom mechanical keyboard with QMK/VIA support and many premium designs like backlight shine-through keycaps, screw-in stabs, etc. The V6 allows customizable capabilities for every key switch, keycap, knob, and stabilizer. id recommend trying to find this at a local retailer and putting clickies in it
hm, I'd have to find somewhere that has imported it
otherwise your mostly out of options
I'm not going to find anything mechanical but logitechs and razers at physical stores anywhere near me
