The weight probably makes little difference, mostly for aesthetics or color matching
Copper allegedly is a tiny bit more muted and full

Plate (or lack of if you choose plateless) makes quite a large difference for feel and sound, since it's the main thing your switches are contacting

The use case is to stream Switch 2 games. I have a Capture Card capable of capturing high quality video, but the audio is unsuitible for me. Here are how either of the two would be used:
New Capture Card:

  • USB Capture Card Passthrough HDMI Out -> Monitor
  • USB Capture Card USB Out -> PC
• Specs needed: Able to capture 1440p at >= 60fps / 60hz, and pass through 1440p at 120fps or 144hz (fps/hz, whichever is relevant)
  New Splitter:
• Switch -> Splitter HDMI In
  • Splitter HDMI Out 1 -> Old Capture Card HDMI In (PCIe Capture Card that, while lacking in video power, captures audio flawlessly)

Reason I need a new Splitter is because Switch games can support up to 1440p at 120fps, but my current splitter is not rated for this, and routing the console or capture card to/from it would lower the video quality.
