I'm not sure if anybody in this discord have used cable matter adapter to allow hdmi2.1 output (usb-c to hdmi2.1) on macOS
I have a mac mini M4 and i want to get two hdmi2.1 signal out of it
It worked great when i first got it
but recently it would only let me output 60hz on a 4k external monitor
I tried updating to the newest firmware
it works fine when i try it with my macbook
but not on my mac mini
i have already plugged in an hdmi 2.1 monitor to the mac mini's HDMI port
for some reason it's just refusing to work on my mac mini

i tried a usbc to dp cable and it would only output 120hz after i run nvram -c in recovery work

but once i plug the adapter in again it caps out at 60 again

No shame in that, i use those when I was in school and honestly found them pretty good, so can't really blame you for liking them.

As for the keyswitch thing, you're probably referring to MX switches, they're a contact based activation switch where a 'Stem' guided inside by a rail inside a plastic bottom housing, is pushing against this metal "leaf", with enough push, it shorts the two leaves / contact which makes it register a keypress.

how do they compare with a membrane like that HP one you have mentioned / used, due to the nature of MX switches, the required travel needed for a press to be registered is shorter compared to a membrane where you would need to bottom out so that it registers.

This leads to a "snappier" and "responsive" feeling due to that, additionally with MX switches since the switch stems are bottoming out on a hard plastic, it could lead to a more "pronounced" feeling, crisp if you will, this is due to the plastic on plastic bottom out / contact compared to the plastic and rubber you'd normally find on membranes / rubber domes
