im going to encase you in charcoal
then light it
awesome
he means charcoal pro 1
having a split spacebar board and not using the split spacebar is crazy
but u will bark " i wont afford that"
cry about it
my split board is coming
i have never tried split spacebar
11/10 people i knew who owns this board isnt on spilt spacebar, you lost
is it worth my time
yeah ok
u finaly bought that shitbox epomaker iirc
or agar ?
yes
this is so ugly man
i wish ur pcb malfunctioned after 2 weeks of usage
if i were to buy a split spacebar hhkb mx
it’d be a 7spro or whatever they’re called
so u can come here and complain "should have gotten a better board"
i might beg my wife to let me buy a keycult for £8k
livakivi got a 7spro
oh so ur wife
just get a realforce
no
glad im single
i’m just rage baiting you
this is so funny to observe
in sigmakbd studios they dont ask that question
and i use a £7.5k limited edition keycult every day
there is no keycult that expensive
i wonder if keycults actually will resell in like 20 years
0/10 ragebait
i might sell some of my boards for an agar
is not eclusivity like otd
they will slowly losing its value
yes please do
Thank god i bought a pro 1
tbh i think pro 1s will either rise in value
or very slowly fall
as people care less and less
wonder how much my wood board will sell for
dude
dead hobby
some of my friends is exiting
either go to topre or just down size inventory
i cant wait to be 70 and watch my grandson snap my hhkb pro 1
i would have to kill him
i can t wait to be 70 and my grand child said mx2a is vb
i can’t wait to be 100 and type on ktt matchas for the last time
bro will live his entire life in keyboard poverty
the humble electrocapacitive topre switch
i would rather use membrane for life time than cheaping out on my own hobby
is just patheic
it depends on the hobby
we are talking about keyboards
true
idk other hobbies tho
You don’t gotta ball out on a seneca or something doe
if i got into pens for whatever fucking reason im definitely cheaping out
if i ever get into pens lock me away
just get a generic 120$ parker
i do have an aliexpress apple pencil doe
my grandpa said i can inherit his cartier something something tho
that dude is literally clock and watch elitist
if anyone says they’re into watches they are rich
he is a doctor
even if they are lying they’re still rich
im infecting the ltt population slowly but surely
lowkey if im deep into thiss hobby
i wont even bother going to here
just to have some budget enthusiast yapping
you know who
i want to buy a php elephant artisan
if i get a better monitor will i get better at fortnite
im using 60 hertz and im still not sure if its worth upgrading but im starting to think i should ngl
Nothing more than 200$ switch preference I like my keyboard to go clicky clack. And shine with colors. And full size.
Why was it sent here first
what does clicky clacky mean
your going to have to be more specific
no
to get better at fortnite you have to get better at fortnite
i don’t think anyone sells those
How would i do that
it would probably help a tiny bit
if you’re really good anyway
if ur not 60hz is ok
Yo guys what a good budget gaming mouse and keyboard?
what is the budget and what preferences do you have
you need to be a lot more specific
Ah my bad sorry
Non competitive games and college works budget like 60 dollars usd for both
Balance 103 When the market is flooded with ostentatious decorations, redundant features, and noisy marketing, BALANCE103 insists on returning to the purest original intention - to use restrained design to solve real needs. We refuse to over-process simply to look “luxurious,” abandoning superficial gimmicks and only r
switch gonna be 20 for decent one
keycaps 20-30 works
dont ask that vauxhall dude, he will just rec u chinese slop
yeah what preferences do you have both things
like what switches layout keycaps
what mouse you want like a mouse with a numpad for productivity or a more gaming focused mouse
Na a mouse with 2 side buttons will do the work
The cheapest 👍
do you want the cheapest shit quality or the cheapest good quality
u should sthu already if u cant give him an actual product as advice
he hasnt said what he wants
no mention of layout no mention of switches no mention of anything like wireless or hot swap
implying he doesnt know anything man
I literally have no idea about mechanical keyboards
see
I want good quality stuff
Am a student i cant afford much tbh
oh
do you know what size you want atleast
id imagine 65% or 75%
nah its less common
Oh
i doubt youd need a top 10 gaming mouse so id go with a g203
its like $15-$20 gets the job done wired
id look aliexpress for this btw
Is low latency mouse gonna cost a lot?
I do play valorant
for the keyboard a gmk67 or cheaper with aifei v3s and a switch of your choice
thatd be like $40~
g203 will suffice
id save up for whatever mchose is coming out with recently
if you need help with switches just ask here
some basic gateron yellows would be good enough for a decently fast linear
I would have to buy it separately?
yeah
gmk67 like $24 last i checked the keycaps are about $10 and switches you can easily find under $10
id look at a used marketplace though
Alr can i dm u if i have any questions?
sure
Ty
A mechanical keyboard that doesn’t have quiet keys. Something more for gaming. I don’t know the different types of switches except green which most razors have.
clicky switches?
What does the 20-30 mean? With the keycaps
Yes
id recommend box jades ig
id recommend aifei v3s
or npbt basics if you can afford it
is t here any keyboards like MOUNTAIN Everest Max
Does anyone know if Redragon makes a keyboard identical to the K724 Pro but wired instead of wireless
I cannot find one
no
why don’t you want it wireless though
Because itll never leave my desk, and the charging port is on the left side of the board vs top
i’d advise against it then
Its just on sale for so cheap with the lcd screen, I wasn’t going to get it with the screen but rn its cheaper than the wired version without the lcd
think mechboards sells a kit for a 75% for like £70 all parts included except switches and keycaps
fair
the screen is pretty useless imo
i rarely use my ak820 screen
I agree but for $51 usd? Vs $70 for wired without the screen?
I mean theyre both cheap dont get me wrong
fair enough
But saving $20 and getting the lcd
you could probably find a different 75 without a screen for cheaper
Its just the charging port that makes it a difficult choice
fair enough
To be honest, idc if its 75% or 100%
I just liked the K687 they had at microcenter
if so a gmk87 and you choose your own keycaps/switches is probably better
And saw the 724 was cheaper right now
full size without numpad
Honestly zero care, id prefer a numpad but its no dealbreaker
Ive never dug this deep into keyboards lol
welcome to the sess pit
The redragon boards I was looking at had like, creamy? Switches?
I think? Whatever they weirdly call them?
you’d want tactile then
#asmr #wireless #keyboard #rogally #budget #pcgaming #gaming #gamingsetup #technology #tech #unboxing
Not the same caps I wanted
But hopefully tells you something
Enjoy the ultimate typing ASMR with Redragon K707 PRO Side Printed Gradient Mechanical Keyboard
This cringe too
those are linear
i’d recommend a gmk87 with morandi switches
or ajazz gift switches i love those
And what does it mean when it says “gasket keyboard”
Got my op1w 4k a couple of days back they are soo good.
Does that have any real meaning
it’s mounted on silicone gaskets
meaning it’s got some flex to it
better typing feel
doesn’t feel like pressing down on a brick
Yes. It means the plate is sitting on foam or silicone
Which gives it some level of vertical movement and dampening
Yeah they are great.
that isn’t that deep knowledge wise
Gasket mounting thanks to chinese companies is now quite mundane
I mean yeah its not a ton but still
What's the new hotness tho. I really haven't kept in pace after I got my sugar 65
I mean excluding hall effect
Also, I do want a wireless mouse as ive been using a deathadder v2 mini wired
I dont love it, i dont hate it
Any decent recommendations bang for $ for wireless
What's your grip type and how large are your hands
I could not confidently answer either of those questions lmao, i apologize
And what would be your price sweet spot
Ah ok just a moment
Under $100 preferably, but if its really worth it ill spend more
whatever mchose makes recently
And deathadder feels okay in the hand, probably a little small
This should give you a decent idea
great mice
Your hands don't contact the bottom part of the mouse at all?
Give me 2 seconds, i forgot i have a mouse at work I can use to give a better answer 😂
Tho if you are unsure a Logitech g pro clone or similar will do well
As long as you don't get the real Logitech g pro
My grip sits in between palm and tip, but not claw, as my palm sits entirely off the mouse except for right underneath my knuckles
As in its like my whole entire finger but no palm as the mouse is too small for that, which is like the same as I have at home in terms of size
If it was a bigger mouse id probably be using palm
Is there a specific clone youd recommend
I want something proper with a good sensor and low latency, I know latency isnt really a problem anymore but sensors can be
Even tho I still dont know what that means deep down other than it not being able to read a vibrant desk pad
Which I dont have but still
I know about the attack shark, what about this redragon M916?
Not like i care about redragon or anything im more just curious because it was the second result after I searched g pro clone
I would ignore red dragon
i use the m913 regularly
I honestly would check online. Tho choosing from brands like atk ( and it's sub brands) mchose and attack shark would be smart
I personally have had a terrible experience with them
Red dragon in general
Did you buy their super cheap stuff? I heard bad on that but im seeing them make nicer things now, dont know anything about it really but seems to be decent quality for the money on their “higher” end stuff
ehhh
i’ve been fine so far
Yeah it was their cheap stuff and was a while back too. Just stayed clear of them. Cuz of their poor qc and service.
Yeah I heard bad about their super cheap shit. Now im seeing them in micro center and all over with what seems to be decent quality products
And it seems all pretty recent too
But again, zero experience with them so I have no actual idea
Other than tapping all over the greasy keyboard at micro center
Also thank you @maiden turtle and @young spoke for the help
decided to build a hall effect keyboard and got myself a melgeek made84 and put the haimu dove silent switches in it. i absolutely love the feel but am out of my depth when trying to modify things in the interface. i ended up just having two presets- default and then rapid with a profile i downloaded from some esports player i cant remember. any tips on what to change or look out for from more expierienced HE users?
https://youtu.be/xOBggykgTAM?t=243 ROG KFC keycaps , can get Durian burgers too
Crocs is thriving in China with the country’s Gen Z consumers as other U.S. brands like Nike, Apple and Starbucks are losing ground. Despite a weaker economy and geopolitical tensions with the U.S., Crocs’ revenue in China has grown more than 30% during the most recent quarter as a result of adapting to cater to Chinese consumers.
WSJ’s ...
would you guys reccomend Akko Creamy Purples of Kailh Box Jades? planning on building my first keyboard and I've narrowed it down to those two switches
if I go with the Jades I'd get this keyboard kit and the switches seperately: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0CF2PB31B?ref_=cm_sw_r_cp_ud_dp_FJ1J2YA7CJHVZVH8B8KC_2
but if I go with the purples I'd get this prebuilt and just put the keycaps on it: https://a.co/d/fkNNI0U
these are the keycaps: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0D6YJFGHG?ref_=cm_sw_r_cp_ud_dp_P3CM1X6HBT6MJ89A2HJ6_1
the gold-ish dial on this one goes with the keycaps slightly better, but it's not a make or break for me
I personally like the jades a teeny bit better but I think because they're harder to press down it'd get annoying over time
and everybody I've asked irl has said to go with the creamy purples, I just wanna get your opinions first
it's a $5 price difference so that's negligible
not really how heavier switches work tbh
you just get used to it if it’s not like a 20-30g bump from what ur used to
I’d be coming from a Razer Chroma Ornata V1
im not the budget mx guy good luck with that
from my very loose memory of what that keyboard feels like from when it first came out, i think it's probably pretty medium weight, similar to box jades
the akko creamy purple pro are very light by comparison, still tactile but no click
box jades use a clickbar so it's probably a more crisp tactility than you're used to
Honestly if I were you, I would pick the Monsgeek M1 because I know it gets recommended. And you can get a lot more value out of a decent prebuilt, compared to a cheap barebones and buying really cheap keycaps and ending up at the same price
(moved from #tech-chat-1)
Anyone have any recommendations for PC game controllers? I have pretty big size hands, maybe luke sized, and the two controllers I've liked the most this far, but for consoles, is the Old Xbox Duke controller and Dreamcast's controllers.
secretlab chair worth?
have any recs?
region specific so no
go to a store and try chairs
or multiple stores with variety
it’s short of a thing you want to do irl
you may receive your expensive chair just to find out you don’t feel comfy on it
or that it’s mediocre
I'll have to find some places near me
yeah chairs are very subjective
you can't buy it on rtings.com like a monitor
Well actually I bet they have reviews but still
hey is there any body decent with monitors? thats not gonna slander me with some questions I have and for what I currently have
yeah, anyone with good knowledge about monitors will ask you about preferences too
look for scientific reviews that measure: color accuracy, contrast & black levels, max brightness, pixel response (how fast can pixel transition), flicker if that’s issue for your eyes, viewing angles, etc.
take a look at rtings.com
Answering a couple questions that takes less than 5 minutes can save ypu hundreds of dollars
interrogation officer
Hey I was just wondering if I could get a second opinion on monitors, currently eyeing up the LG 34GS95QE-B and I was curious if any of y'all had any alternative suggestions/own one and could let me know if it's worth it. From the reviews I've read online it seems pretty much perfect for me size and spec wise, but I'd be open to other options
i wish when people sent these messages they included specs and stuff so i don’t have to hunt down the specific monitor they’re talking about on google
I just got a new keyboard
it would probably make keyboard enthusiast sigh
but it's so nice for me
I love it lol
Hey i had a quick question about the deltahub wrist wrest
would it work with a vertical mouse?
why would u say that and give no info about the board lol
I got a monitor
Bye
Redragon Eisa Max (K686sp)
sorry for your loss 🙏
joke i am not this mean
im still sorry for ur loss though
Dont say that
it was fairly priced and was easy to get, so I'm satisfied
Just got two new monitors for a steal, went from a 1440p curved samsung to 2 AOC AG276QZD2 panels.
I plan to use the old samsung as a vertical and stack these two new ones.
Seems to be a random grey flicker while gaming after about an hour or so, is this a refresh? Also the pop up on pixel refresh every 4 hours is interesting while working.
I don’t have experience w/ OLED monitors, even got my first OLED TV a few months ago.
Anyone have advice? Best settings/things i can do differently?
dude literally sent the exact monitor model number
proves to me u read nothing lol
I wish they posted the specs so i don’t have to find the specs of that specific monitor on google
it is just a lazy gripe but at least Read what i said
When you say that it reads like it means you can't find the specific monitor based on what they said in their message
They mean it's more useful to detail the specs in your message instead of the model number
no it doesnt
Hello I need recommendations for a decent "gaming" keyboard....
Budget: €20
Preference: anything that's better than those membrane ones
- RGB or non-rgb doesn't matter
Current keyboard below 👇
save up your money and come back later
Let's bump it up to €40. Let's talk now
ask a budget mx person here
i am sorry i am more of a high end keyboard person
@young spoke
Nvm buddy. I have found one which suits my needs. Ty for help. Lemokey x3
that board costs a bit more than 40€ man
maybe bro found a good deal
No?
Goog for you my humble king
@surreal palm why did u thumbs down react me
Anyone know of any good keyboards that work with console?
Budget around ~£60, not looking for a full keyboard with numpad, but arrow keys are needed
Hey, I am looking for a mic arm that I can mount above my head. And which can be adjusted to go below its mounting point. They all seem like they can only go down to desk level when mounted on the desk. Any recommendations?
Something like this but turned 180deg would also work.
have to make sure whatever you want to use the keyboard for is supported first
Its hard to tell and I dont know any
any keyboard with a usb c port will work on console
You sure?
yes.
Yeah its for Xbox Series X
Some dont work though
Thats why some are specifically certified to work on xbox
i’m absolutely 100% sure every single keyboard with a usb c port will work
sort of
this is wrong
None of those will work
consoles dont have USB-C ports
no usb-c to plug into
the ability to use keyboard has to be set by the dev
usb c to usb a
any keyboard with a usb c port on it will work
meaning any keyboard made in the last 10 years
So i just need to find a good one?
yes
what games do you play?
console compatibility is a minimal issue
okay
do you have any reccomendations for a keyboard?
no i hate the 100% form factor
?
first figure out if the games you want to play even support keyboard
because not all of them do
They do
i hate 100% keyboards
second, if a little bit of latency isn't a problem
meaning i don’t have any recommendations
i'd just get a bluetooth keyboard so you can sit on the couch and notw orry about wires
Who said I needd 100%
you
or one with a 2.4ghz dongle
Numpad and stuff arent needed
looking for a full keyboard with numpad
no
what
No numpad lol
oh
my bad lol
Arrow keys will be needed though
arrow keys? or wasd?
arrow keys, the little keys with arrows
wasd is neccesary for a keyboard to work
thats movement and typing
so keyboard mouse combo? or just keyboard
this has no buttons on it
what game are you playing that only uses keyboard?
using both keyboard and controller?
I have a mouse
ahhh
do they sell in any other colours
or just green
by you buying it on amazon dang
buy it on aliexpress
it’s like £30
?
aliexpress
never used it
use it
no it sells the same things just not dropshipped
buy some switches and some aifei v3 keycaps off there too
buy gmk67
find out what switches you want
(i’d recommend using a switch tester)
and then buy some aifei v3 keycaps
Can anybody suggest me a budget headset around 1K INR?
I was considering to re-buy Sony MDR-ZX310AP.
I'll have to order within 2 hours.
What's the matter?
wdym?
there’s different types
Just a keyboard
ngl just buy a gateorn switch tester
??
yeah there’s different types of switches
for what
I told you I dont know about keyboards I dont know what you are talking about
I dont know about keyboards 🙏
and what do they do
@undone vault
yes
like mechanical
yeah
whats the ping for I am right here
Switches are the things that you actually press.
Yeah vauxcorsa just said that
Use layman terms.
i’d recommend buying a gateron switch tester
No I get it now
Dont I need switches to test first
Tactile - You won't feel a thing unless you go all the way in.
Seems like a waste to me.
Click - Noisy
Mostly non-tactile.
bruh 20 bucks just to test what buttons I want on my keyboard
You'd feel a bump before going all the way in.
Though you can also find non-tactile silent.
It seemed like a waste to me for a reason.
What is your budget anyway?
@young spoke
Was this the definition for tactile or non-tactile.
I remember being told someplace spending like $35 for a keyboard is like spending $350 for a car.
Not sure how accurate that was.
wrong
But people, is that a good budget?
tactile has a bump half way down
Thanks
linear is completely up and down in one motion
That's where I got wrong.
Whats a regular budget?
clicky is tactile but loud
£60 is fine
i’d recommend just getting a gmk67 and some aifei v3 keycaps atm
then buy a switch tester and feel what you like
Cant I just by a full keybaord
waste
I dont know how to create a keyboard
I don't know, I gave up taking online help after finding out increasing your budget by 10 times won't yield you anything.
it’s easy as piss
||I just started relying to my broke friends. 💀||
i build a mechanical keyboard on £8 before
and £6 of that was lube
Why though?
Man, find me the kit.
worse quality then a gmk67
Id rather just buy a keyboard
facebook marketplace special
not a bunch of parts that might not work together
Isn't "Full" the size?
i’d go for an ak820 i guess
What is the purpose?
I am currently suffering due to a lack of Num-pad.
he means a prebuilt
Understandable.
I thought all keyboards were prebuilt
Most are though.
Are you buying or building a keyboard?
Just want to buy a keyboard to use
Then why are you even considering building one?
off aliexpress like £50
😅
off amazon £60 maybe
Im not
vauxcorsa started all the buying switches and keys talk
By the way, the real reason people want hotswappable is for the when their switches die, right?
it’s to change them easily
You got any keyboards that arent the ugliest colour combos
brown and yellow keyboard 😭
HP GK400F.
what
You'd want to change them after they die, right?
You can always get keycaps.
I am just asking the instances you'd want to change the.
*them
I think mechanical is good
yeah
but just not a keyboard with a weird colour
All the keyboards you linked have been brown and yellow or puke green
like?
The ones you linked
i haven’t linked any keyboards
not on amazon
never buy a keyboard on amazon ngl
Get keycaps man? ;-)
The keyboard base is still cream yellow
aliexpress is the same thing just literally cheaper
Well ive got prime
so might aswell use the current sales and free shipping
gmk67 comes in like 100 different colours
it’ll be cheaper on aliexpress
with prime included
Never used aliexpress so dont really trust it
i have
like 3 times this week
idk why you wouldn’t trust it it’s literally the same seller as amazon
Never heard of it
what about these random company
ajazz?
pretty sure it’s older then amazon actually
ajazz is older then amazon
what
ajazz is a pretty common keyboard company
weird name but uhh okay
they make a lot of shit
I don't think so?
Never heard its name personally.
tf how
bananas are best switch ever made ngl
(i once bought 10 used ajazz bananas and 6 of them came dead on arrival)
Damn
you can always just swap the keycaps
so I shouldnt trust them
you should
Thats more than half that came broken lmao
He was saying that the base was also cream yellow.
my ak820 pro still works
idk if that was ajazz or the seller
anyway
ak820 pro great keyboard
I thought keyboards came from like logitech and razer mostly 🙏
only the shit ones yeah
Not Ajazz and homo 😭
crazy
Come to my country.
You'll see many brands that are available globally apart from those.
logitech and razer make the most bottom of the barrel keyboards possible
what about mice
Turns out they are all using Chinese rebrands like the global competitors. 💀
attack shark
I have a logitech mous...
almost all logitech and razer keyboards are just chinese OEM brands
with a razer sticker on it
they make it for £15 then sell for whatever extortionate prices they have now
Wait, Logitech as well?!
😭
yes
It was the only brand I had trusted for years.
Dell and HP are just office shit
The last two are the ones you get for free with laptops. 💀
I know
i’m convinced logitech boards are just magegee geeky and koorui boards that failed the quality control test
As a person whose cheap-ass Logitech Membrane keyboard bought in like 2011 or 2012 still works, I have got an urge to disagree.
hp and dells “gaming” keyboards are literally just the shitty razer and logitech boards
i mean the mechanical boards
a membrane will be perfectly fine
What 'bout Redragon?
they literally cost like £10
Though it is Chinese.
they’re older ones like the k552 yes
the new anime boards they make are alright
Red ragon?
Some authentic, good quality made in China.
yeah
Opinions on Redragon K582 Surara?
it’s fine
I guess that's how it is spelled?
Do they have good keyboards?
Logitech G102?
ass
Logitech Hero g502?
What else should I get for similar price?
No
"No" as in?
i’ve heard of like 5 people who have had them just break on them
I thought you confused my mouse.
Double click issue?
Its the one I have
Isn't that an easy fix?
idk if mchose makes a mouse at that price
if so that
no like literally the sensor stops working
Another mouse I was considering was EVGA X12.
The only issue with that...
Reviews say a desing in flaw in the scroll wheell.
*wheel
Which causes it to break real quick.
So is there any good keyboards on amazon
Would prefer to use it
if not an attack shark x3 works
Doesn't seem available in my country for a similar price.
ak820 pro is on there i think
aliexpress?
Not available here.
The scroll wheel...
Does the normal ak820 have anything the Pro doesnt?
the ak820 base version is essentially e waste
The other issue was that...
||EVGA lacks a service network here, so the warranty is screwed.||
okay
How? From where am I supposed to get a replacement wheel?
Are you talking about the internal?
then simple soldering job
never heard of it
I am talking about the external part that you touch.
Nvm its a different company dont know why amazon showing it to me
yeah lol
Any advice for skates for the viper v3 hyperspeed on a glass mousepad
they go by ajazz or mechlands on amazon
anything but a glass skate
Do PTFE work
The only difference between the normal and Pro looks like the Pro has a screen..?
yes
Ok thanks
worse switches worse keycaps worse foam worse mounting
etc
i could go on
what does the screen do
Oh nice
It says its "3 modes" that includes wired?
which switch should i select
yes
gift
both are 45g linears
the gift just sounds good
why would sound have an effect on if its good
both are identical
the gift just sounds better innit
the flying fish sound just really odd
Ill get the fish then
what
Its slightly cheaper
Sounds it useless, its a keyboard
yes
sound is what makes a keyboard good
what
otherwise just use a silent switch
I use a headset while gaming, I wont hear it either way
I dont think it matters much but ill trust you
gift switch it is
Currently thinking about possibly getting a base spec M4 Mac Mini for video editing, school work, and possibly some light gaming. What would be the best monitor, mouse, and keyboard to get for a total of around or under ~$300 USD?
any USB keyboard to be honest
it's all USB HID
alright watching this keyboard conversation is hurting my brain cells
die
feel is what makes a keyboard good
sound is pretty much irrelevant
49 Inch monitors are peak
I recently got an older non OLED Samsung g9
would reccomend to anyone
I think sound is less important, for sure. I'm wearing headphones most of the time (most people are). Now, the click bars in my Box Navy switches were making my bad ear ring when not wearing headphones, so I had to take them out, so, in that way, I can see certain sound profiles/volumes being deal breakers, at least. I also noticed that I couldn't hear them over music/game in my headphones, and when typing fast enough/gaming hard enough, I couldn't feel the tactile bump, either. Pretty sure I've convinced myself that linear is best (Granted, I haven't tried an EC/Topre board yet. I'm pretty sure I wouldn't be a fan of the rubber dome feel, though).
With all of that said, today I installed 150g springs into my keyboard. I figured, having acclimated to Box Navy switches, then 20g springs that I modded into my optical keyboard after that, that I could acclimate to much heavier springs just fine, and have stronger hands for it. So I'm trying that. Guess we'll see how that goes. Does feel slower, more difficult. Still typing above 130WPM, though. Box Navy's springs feel ultra light in comparison.
Guh. I'm just now realizing that these Corsair OPX switches have a ton of wobble. Maybe I should buy stupid-heavy springs for the Navies...
just imagine if you had open back headphones or ever upgraded to such a pair. or better yet, upgraded to some speakers
headphone user
topre doesn't feel mushy like rubber dome
but if you picked linears over clickies then that must be your prefetence
ktt matchas best switch ever made
they look like beers but with more linear post travel
I just ordered my endgame dream keyboard, got the monsgeek m1v5 via rapid disassembly with the durock ice kings and the gmk WoB red cyrillic keycaps
yes
linear travel is the best part of a tactile switch
dream bigger
Well its the perfect layout for me so why would i
does anyone know the name of this cable?
buy linears
nah
i like a lot of linear travel
because i know when im feeling linear travel that im not actually actuating the key
i like the build up to the bump that linear travel gives
Any banger monitors for cheap
27 inch
165hz+
2k
🙏🙏🙏
Id say oled but that's means it's not cheap anymore 🤬🤬
just add 1ms response time (MPRT) to the filters and send the 3 cheapest you can find
i'll help u chose which one is the best for you
I'll check rq
Thats in 2k, I'll check for 1080p
It came up with some different 2k ones this time ┐( ∵ )┌
what are you usually using your monitor for and are you viewing it from abstract angles regularly?
like viewing fro ma perspective where your head isnt even in front of the monitor anymore
gaming and general browsing and stuff
and ill onyl rlly be looking from a different angle if im watching a yt vid or sum and kying back
ig also i usde it for like cad and some video editing
and coursework and such
these panels are VA, which can be great, especially for its price as they are usually cheaper than IPS.
the 2 things you have to know is that VA panels almost always have more contrast and therefor look slightly better, whilst IPS panels can be viewed from basically any angle without issues.
VAs, especially when viewed from the side, get a bit shiny. you can test this effect on your current monitor, as even IPS have it but only when watched from really absurd angles noone would care about.
on VAs this usually happens more when watched from the side, at least 20-30° off
if your eyes are below or above the screen, especially when far back, thats not a big issue
alright perfect
which do you reccomend then?
give me a minute, the AOC one looks amazign especially for its price, unless getting 165 instead of 144 Hz is a dealbreaker for you.
the only thing is, 2 monitors that are advertised at 1ms response time can have DRASTICALLY different real world response times.
1ms is great t o filter out all the "landmines" but depending on a few things i would consider one of the 159 pound ones as well. so i will quickly look up those real world response times and be back for you afterwards
the second aoc one is 180hz
is a sync the same as freesync and shi?
oh true i thought those were 1080p based on what u wrote before that picture so i didnt even look at that xD
mb
yea lol i just didnt out sizes in the second time andf another 27 inch came up
functionally they are identical. you can use them with any GPU and they will give u the same performance
G sync uses a physical component, the G sync module, whilst freesync and all the others are just software
btu they basically just do the exact same thing
why the flip do they need a module then
back when it was introduced there was marketing BS
and it needed a few years to be available for all GPUs
first 2-3 years there were montiors that exclusively worked with AMD or Nvidia
so it was to lure people who already bought nvidia GPUs to buy another nvidia one bc they locked people out of it being compatible
so you lost G sync if u went AMD the next time
yes, sadly it doesnt have perfect review data, where the real world response times were measured and put into a chart to compare side by side, but i found multiple credible sources that didnt report any of the typical problems that you get when response times are too low.
so especially considering the price gap, that seems like the best deal.
i would never pay 160 or more pounds just for slightly better response times (if they even are better), when at around 220 GBP you could be getting a miniLED monitor, which makes content not look quite as good as OLED, but somwhere in the middle of standard monitors and OLED
i mean id love to have oled, itd be great, but just dont want to be spending that much on a monitor
i got other things to buy
lol
alr thank you so much for the help man
have a great rest of your day
u2 mate
also thats why i mentioned mini LED as that is often goes below the radar of most people and, while not ideal for many, the best way to improve imagine quality without braking the bank as muc has OLED
yeah a lot of the good VAs are curved to help with the viewing angles
ill see if there are any that are reasonably cheap
should be fine as long as i can still align my second monitor with it ok
all the miniLEDs monitors are great, there is just 1 landmine that is not seviceable, the Acer Nitro XV5 XV275UP3biiprx
not a chance lol
yeah as i said aroudn 220
Xiaomi G Pro 27i
try findign that one
AOC Q27G3XMN
and this one
if ur lucky one of them might be sub 200
but its still an argument if thats worth your money
nah its liek 250
also a question if i get a 3d printer or this but yhats not your problem lol
idk whats going on with my current monitor, ive had it for a few years now its slowly deteriorating
model number?
u can right click ur desktop and find it under display settings
then advanced display settings at the bottom
and then u should see the exact name
anything else but the refresh rate that deteriorated?
I seems more choppy kinda when scrolling on something but that's probably just the Hz lowering
So no
But when it deteriorated, it's like 2/3 of the screen is freaking out and bugging, but the other 1/3 is fine
So every few months it would happen and I'd have to go down a atep
Hi there, I have the acer kg272 s which supports 165hz refresh rate which was fine but over time i started to have problems with the monitor. Slowly the screen stared to tear on 165hz and glitch out until it was unusable until i switched to 144hz but the problem eventually happened on 144hz as well. Now i am using 120hz…
And now like the 165 and 144 don't work at all, they're 99% broken
seen this?
Nope
worth a shot
also always worth contacting the companys support, so acer in this case
they might have similar solutions fro mthe OSD, maybe a software update
or sometimes even built in features for pixel clearing and stuff
Wait so the monitor might be fine?
also have you had the monitor off for longer periods at some point, like a few days or preferably 1-2 weeks?
MIGHT
might be broken
might be fixable
Yea
I've just gone out, I'll have a proper look when I get home
perfect
If I can get away with not buying a new monitor that'd help a lot
i'd stil lwrite acer support an email as quickly as possible
u know when u bought the monitor?
i mean that would be perfect
u could just get your money back and probably get an even better monitor for the same money now
or just get a new identical one
It was the worst timing when it went to 75hz, id just upgraded my CPU and mobo and was up like 30-40fps in every game at least
120 was doable
they often even let you keep the old one bc its too expensive
I think we looked into it
I'll find the order later and see if I can get a refund
Haha
3rd monitor
ther e was a guy who ordered a 4k oled for 700€ a few weeks ago, the shipment got lost, so they sent a new one. but evenutally both came to him and he got to keep them both xD
Btw I'm so glad I've mentioned that, you defo know a lot more about this stuff than me
😂😂😂
and this happens regularly
1% of stories make it to the public, 1% of those are seen as worth reporting, 1% of those make it towards your local media and you only consume 1% of whats available to you
most people will just take the monitor or whatever they got, tell their freinds and be happy. not everyone will make a reddit post that blows up or go to a local newspaper or sth
with 8 billion people, the most random shit happens every second
Oh yeah why talk about it
They you might get in trouble lol
Hell yeah
that guy only made it public after amazon confirmed he can keep it
its wild how that is more profitable to companies nowadays
Lol
Yk what I'll check the Amazon order now and see if I can get the miney
It was like 225 or sum at the time
wow
just saying that would be like a free upgrade to miniLED
(or your 3d printer as u mentioned)
maybe u have enough left for both 🤔
but lets confirm u actualyl can get a refund in the first place 😄
I was a dummy
It was 150
When I bought a new one to test if it was just broken, then returned that one bcz it did the same 😂😂, it was 220 then
Can't find any return option 😔
yikes
Can someone recommend me a decent prebuilt keyboard or even recommend me a nice custom build for a £100 budget? I'm in the uk and this keyboard will be used for mainly productivity. I don't mind if it's 60% but i would prefer it to be a 75%. I want the switches to be creamy. Thanks for any help.
yo
YO
omds
i turned off low latency mode. also means i cant use freesync????? but it works at 165 hz
lets gooooo
isnt it a good thing to use freesync tho
what freesync does is it makes your monitor make a new frame exactly when ur GPU has one ready.
frames are actually displayed 1 horizontal line at a time. so not every pixel is changing colour at the exact time. if a new frame is generated during that time, the monitor will use the new frame, so the top half is the 2nd newest frame while the bottom half is the newest frame.
this is called screen tearing and freesync eliminates it
if you dont notice it a lot and prefer the higher refresh rate, thats perfect
another option is "v sync" which can be enabled in games.
this does the same as freesync,m but it adds latency, because it works the other way round, the GPU generates a frame and mthe monitor basically waits for it.
so freesync is a version of v sync that eliminates the introduces input lag
for the fastest response, techless made a video about different settings, but basically, if you have free sync on, put v sync on as well and limit your FPS about 3 under your monitrors max. i got a 165Hz monitor as well and limit my framerate to 161 through the nvidia app across all games, even those that only have 60 and 120 Hz as an option
yea thats what i was doing
but i cant use freesync and keep the low latency off
the low latency was the thing causing it apparently
if you cant use freesync, use v sync for higher input lag and no screen tearing or no v sync and uncapped Hz/FPS for lowest latency
low latency modes from the monitor dont do that much
v sync doesnt need anytihng setup on the monitor or no?
