The main reason I want silent keys if possible is that I'd be using this at work (office setting) , and I don't want to accidentally annoy my coworkers. Pretty much almost all my actual previous experience with keyboards has been membrane ones, but from my (very) limited experience with mechanical keyboards I have a slight preference for tactiles, but I don't know anything further really.

You can check my previous posts for more context, but basically this is the last main thing I need to figure out before buying everything (well, this and waiting for a numpad I like to become available, I need all the keys those usually have which limits me somewhat)

for 4/5 people a laptop would just be better still, because e.g. students (and most some jobs) just dont have a fixed workplace with a setup monitor and especially if you can work/study while sitting in the train (and get paid for that time)
