Uh they're membrane switches if so
oh
definitely takes getting used to if you normally use a high travel keyboard
Membrane but they built 80% of a MX switch on top for some reason
you gotta train your fingers to type lighter but eventually you get crazy fast
see its not that because I don't mind butterfly
wow
wild
I think the positioning is just so weird
im typing on a butteryfly keyboard right now
i honestly like it
i got used to it
tho
i hated it at first
very nice for short bursts
I don't mind butterfly because I can type perfectly fine on it, the apple magic keyboard for some reason I can't
i find that hard to believe
I think its something about the flatness of it
the old apple macbook keyboard (like my old 2017 macbook air) idk if yall have tried that but man thtas hoenstly #1 for computer keyboards
It's just not right
i feel like there’s something else at play other than the inherent design of the keyboard
it feels like its the wrong size
@wheat warren if you do end up buying a hhkb theres some things to keep in mind btw
- you cannot buy any old keycap set and put them on a hhkb, they use topre stems
- you can replace several parts of a topre switch, like the slider, housing, dome, and silencing ring
- the tactility in a topre switch comes from the dome, not the spring
- they are electrocapacitive switches, basically relying on capacitance to detect the keystroke
- you can buy replacement domes, keycaps, pcbs, etc from some enthusiast sellers or companies like deskeys
also hhkbs arent the only topre boards, leopold fc660c / 980c exist along with the entire very extensive realforce lineup
what about them do you wanna know
@boreal rivet
oh god
hhkb is 45g only
calling in the reinforcements
does dome weight change the bottom out force or is it just the tactile bump peak
and some boards have variable weight domes
how bad are vegan leather mousepads for gaming? considering i’ll be using a 56g mouse with ptfe skates
horrible
okay but like i am not a hardcore gamer and really don’t play many super competitive games, exactly how horrible is it
this is a bit rude but maybe if you don’t know absolutely anything about picking out a micr try searching for a review of that mouse and see what some guy who reviews mice says
i usually do look at reviews
idk why
it’s a much more personal decision than some other purchases
i think im j a little lazy tdy
btw thank you 5qr1 bbavonc
and. u too
for the keyboard stuff
it’s fine
if you’re willing they’re are some incredible deals on used and open box mice on ebay
i assume lots of store returns end up there, so it’s not hard to find something minimally used
wow
yep, and this isn’t even close to the best i’ve seen
ebay is pretty low sketch these days too
i hope they dont develope the double click issue
ive had one reletively new logi mouse do it
rip
i just wanted the guy to say "realfornce is better" and leave like every other time xD
didnt think there was someone who can actually respond in a human way behind the profile
fr
this gotta be the best deal
gpx nowadays is meh for the price
you have gazillion mouse options with similar shape
also few have imo better open source software
@fervent breach if ur still up im available now
NOOO, not the 2 AA battery mouse ...
heavy mouse
rechargeable AA batteries btw
but yeah hefty mouse
you can also replace the battery inside a mouse in case it's worn or dead
for £40 what do you guys think
i think that switch is a homoo sea salt
for reference
guys is the easymx x20 any good? Its selling for 40$ from where I am buying
anyone know where to get good desk pads? preferably with some designs on it and not just plain
You’re not gonna believe this but: lttstore.com
overpriced
goes from $40 CAD to $82 CAD after shipping
I already have one too it's just ruined from the dryer
superlight not even worth $55 anymore
xraypad
get a cookie monster one for £7 off aliexpress like me (ignore the ewaste peripherals i kept these for like 2 months then ditched them)
honestly best mouse pad i’ve used
matrova also allow for custom pads at a reasonable price
is it normal for this site to be insanely slow
works perfectly fine for me on 50mbps
hoenstly their website sucks. look on aliexpress
always check aliexpress
aliexpress my beloved
the prices make me think it's gonna be absolute ass
hey fortinte
I need some help
does anyone know if low profile switches accept any keycaps?
looking to get this bad boy, but I want to change it some cooler keycaps
ohhh nice
no
most low profile switches don’t accept standard sized cherry/oem/etc… keycaps
even something like tecsee medium will not accept 100% of keycaps, i believe cherry is a problem for them, and that’s not the most lp switch
clean that keyboard geez
low profile keycaps
from logitech unless it says "MX", they're custom keycaps entirely and not compatible with anything else
and looking for that should work for other brands too i believe
all the ones from aliexpress for me have had issues
in the same boat rn, check if drop.com has anything you like in your price range
I got the gamakay tk75he ~a year back, and a friend wants me to pick out a keyboard for him around like 80-110$, is the one i have the best bet or is there anything better?
for gaming
save ur momney and get a nano68
hall effect?
it’s a mouse pad there’s not a lot to fuck up there
there is, a lot
depends on the user tho
it’s just a bit of woven fabric innit
with mousepads its very easy to have a specific material/design/etc. that you get very used to and switching can be very bad for a long time
fair
i for example use a roccat alumic, which is colpetely solid
and i could never go back to soft mousepads
not sayign they are bad or anything
it just feels awful in my whole body usign a mouse anywhere else
there’s soft ones?
yeah like.. 98% of mousepads
i’ve never used a soft mousepad lol
whaaaaaaaat
I've only ever used like 1 hard mousepad in my life
those cheap dell plastic top mousepads
oh those are ass
and trust the world is large enough that there are hundreds of people out there who would never use sth else
than those plastic ones
now I have some random fabric mouse pad which is currently low friction enough for me
bought my mousepad back in 2013 when i was still in school (like 7th grade back then or sth) and i brought my mousepad to school with me whenever i had programming classes
or on wednesdays i went to my grandmas place after school and would play on her computer for a bit so i had it with me for wednesdays as well bc i couldnt handle other mousepads
Asus something, 165hz 27 inch and that's all I know. It's just it's sorta been dying over time. Like degrading, it's not any of my pc just the monitor, but it sort of just every now and then brakes more then I have to go down in one step with the refresh rate
do you know if its 1080p or 1440p and do you have some core specs of your PC for me, like CPU and GPU?
also would you still be happy to use it as a second monitor?
looking for a new keyboard under £100 either tlk or full no blue switches any recomendations
so i was thinking about fancy PC cases for my next daily driver PC, which will be after AM5, so somwhere 2027-2029 so i wanted to do a reality check before the thought becomes engraved into my brain and then later realising its just not feasible/too expensive or sth.
im not talking hytey70 touch but more like a tank or creeper PC, something you wouldnt immediately think its a PC or that is really out of the ordinary.
do you know some either not 2k$ ones or how difficult it would be to build something myself?
im neither skilled nor terrible at woodworking and other handmade stuff and i dont have a workshop for it but quite some tools and help fro mfriends and neighbors if i need to
ofc there is a LOT of time and things can and will change, just want some insights to get at least a tiny grasp on it
they managed
ohhh
bruh
guess im passing the logitech
thanks
gonna grab the aula f108 pro
new keycaps
that is a small keyboard
is it worth switching from ajazz ak872 to royal kludge rk68 plus
all i have to do is switching the switches
Any reqs for mic with or without boomarm
try just a few at first and see if you like it
made no difference at all
Ive used it before, i replaced the rk68 plus because switches go crazy
Has anyone gotten a Hansker vertical mouse? There haven't been many reviews about it other than Wired, it seems pretty cool
bruh
how are they clones they are literally just blue
no mode key is a pain
it’s not as if i’ve ever used it but not having it and having to use super is annoying
buy aifei man
clones
everyone said this and i literally couldn’t find them
even on aliexpress
whatever the only thing i really care about is material
at least they aren’t shitty abs
they arent shitty abs
esp the one i sent
i knew some seller ( which is my friend ) bought 5 set and mixed a RML out of it
should buy another foamboard for going out
bringing a thicky laptop and a alu keyboard means back pain
has anyone put a LP keyboard in a laptop yet
every laptop keyboard is lp ??
take alienware man
is lp mech inside
in their high end line ups
my 60% fits perfectly on top of my laptop keyboard without getting in the way of the screen so it’s worth it
mechanical
yes
might get one then
how can i convince my wife i need a £2000 laptop for work
u better get a thinkpad and save money
best laptop keyboard ever
x17 r1 is like sub 1k5
might try and convince her i need a keycult
ew bro
good keycult price is ass
and the nk one... i dont want to talk about it
600$ or a full alu board is outrageous
why hasn’t anyone made a tungsten keyboard
that will definitely give you back pain lmao
hyper 7 r4
ffull brass
u might want to check it out
@young spoke iff u want a good 65%
u should try krush 65 or dune 65
nah
i buy exclusively the absolute cheapest keyboards
if it’s more then £50 i ain’t buying it
u just said u want a keycult
met an elitist keycult user 3-4 days ago
he is a dumbass
and mad
it was a joke mf
😂
anyway might
literally all i need is a reasonably sized ssd
the most intensive thing i’m doing on it is fucking terraria
i got a x1 carbon gen 7
ffor like 500
i7 10th gen 16gb/1TB
and a FHD+ touch screen
if u want a t14
buy the gen 3s
bruh
does the left one have a hidden apple logo somewhere?
im sure i could find one on german used market for 4k €
"bought it for 4.5k so its worth at least 4"
ok i think this one is just trolling
LOL
ONLY 3 LEFT BUY BEFORE ITS GONE!!!1!!!11!ONE!!
@young spoke
is "solid state" so it is hard
gen 6 x1 is 270
i just searched
does it have to be a thinkpad?
those graphic cards wont do anything
or what are your essential specs?
they just generally seem the best
cpu/igpu anything good enough to run terraria at most and 256gb of storage
anything gen 10 and newer can run smoothly
preferably 512gb since most £300~ laptops have 512 anyway
terraria isnt triple A to be ffair
terraria quite literally can run on a usb drive microchip
it’s at most 2x as hard as doom is
anything with a cpu from the last 10 years will run it at 60fps
where you finding those lol
flagship from 10 years ago is worse then mid range 5 years ago lol
link it anyway i’ll add it to the list
Ultralight, and weighs less than 2.5 lbs. 14" screen with stunning display features Packed with powerful processors Huge storage and even faster memory Up to 15 hours of battery life RapidCharge technology Legendary durability merged an elegant design Seamless responsiveness for ultimate mobile p...
maybe?
is magnesium alloy carbon whatever classis
i might have this one for u
IT FEELS SO GOOD
worse then the other one but 1tb storage might be better
checking UK shipping rn
but attracts fingerprints
should be 280 GBP or lower including shipping
fucking amd bro
i bought my mom a dell
with r5 8640 HS
what a power house
dang
would you be interested in that one before i check Uk shipping?
think this the best bet
if you link it i’ll look directly to my address
that’s fine
@young spoke beside x1 u can check for their workstation serires
those are bulky and reliable
like P serires
or x1 extreme
probably just the first 2 are interesting
difference is only OS btw,
sort by best price
lol isnt that the default?
what about this one?
dirt cheap actually
and its from mazon Uk
actually not bad
got the same cpu as the other x1 carbon
when the german price comparison site is somehow the ebst at finding UK offers xD
lmao
on the german keyboard thing i’m pretty sure it’s the exact same layout as uk iso just with german accents on some of the keys
"oh its not on amazon or newegg? a well we cant find it"
there really needs to be pc part picker for laptops
its qwertz and u get the ä ö ü keys left fro menter at least
geizhals is basically like that
u have all the filters
that website is amazing for finding deals
and it finds fking everything, at least if it ships to germany
it has the same number of keys in the same place
just don’t look at your keyboard and you’ll be good
instead of entering every detail per component u just do it all at once
which is a little confusing tbh
pcpp is much easier to use, the price findign is just awful
and their compatibility check is also amazing
i love the compatibility check
same
for what it’s made for it’s absolutely perfect
probably the only reason i use pcpp sometimes still
but its kinda funny when people make a parts list for their budget
i found a 2tb nvme for £60 there once
and then u just @ them and upgraded all of their components bc there were other offers pcpp doesnt find
i once got someone the exact same PC for 700 instead of 1.6k xD
i think genuinely their prices are so misleading its better if they left prices out or just put MSRP or something there
the average you can save when doing a build on pcpp has to be at least 15%
i'd say i usually save 25-30% but in case i misremember a lot (and sample size is small) 15% average is the bare minimum
and thats US
if u build uouside the US its even more
where?
wonder what the battery life is on the latitude
i only realistically need 4-6 hours max but i can definitely work around a lower battery life if i need too
Power bank exist worst case
yeah
chatgpt sais ~12 hours of light usage and 5-7 hours if u play terraria
take that for what u will
also the battery is easy t upgrade
there is a 68Wh one you can buy instead of the stock 42Wh
seems to be ~80 GBP tho
if its anything close to 7 hours i’ll be fine
and maybe you can find a plug for just 10 minutes in some break
or if u dont play the entire time nad do other things in the meantime
just to have the headroom
would possibly be an idea to not play terraria while i’m teaching a class
i just thought about this some of the kids ill be teaching are younger then terraria itself
terraria just turned 14
damn
anyway, there is a certain roguelike tetris deckbuilder game that wasnt on anyones bingo list for 2025 that is calling my attention
What's the best monitor I could potentially get at $300 or less
1440p, ideally not oled because although they're pretty a cheap one would probably have some crazy burn in
probably the AOC Q27G3XMN
it is VA and only 180hz
if you want ips/higher hz then just say
I was looking at the AOC Q27G4XNE as per newegg reviews
thats a good display if you want ips
the AOC Q27G3XMN has actual HDR and still has pretty good motion clarity/response times
Cheapest I can seem to get it is $300, whereas I can get the one I was looking at for $160 or so
Would you say it's $140 better?
it all depends on what you want. monitor unboxed is a good channel to watch, they made a "best monitors of 2025 so far" video
I was looking at that video, and I definitely like my dark blacks
It looks like the Q27G3XMN (that's a long title to remember) is probably the better option since I like that
yeah HDR is amazing
Yeah, I think it's honestly probably worth it
I want the 5070TI and 7600X build I'm making to show off the graphics it can produce after all
Hey I'm new here and I was looking for where I can get help and suggestions to buy a good keyboard
Am I in the right place? 😀
Yes
I would like to get some suggestions, if anyone could help :]
What is your budget
Desired layout and soubd ?
they're fine
better options out there. what is ur budget
Thanks
Idk, the currency here is not dollars
But I would like to hear your suggestions anyways
What's the cutoff for shitty hall effects
As in, at what price point is it just better to get a normal mech instead of an HE keyboard
$100?
HE was never compared to mech
In terms of sounds and such
Is just a gimmick imo, and less likely average gamer eill benefit from those tech
Keychron prebuilts
Wdym by prebuilts
dang the £40 keyboard isn’t shit
it has homoo sea salt silents on it
it’s hot swap (i kinda wanted silent switches anyway) and it’s actually not horrible
Is Keyboard AJAZZ AK680 a good choice? I really like its design
long story short
it depends.
what do you want in your new keyboard:
- should it be quiet or can it be noisy as other keyboards?
- do you want to feel a bump when your key is pressed or have the keys go down smoothly until they bottom out?
- do you want RGB?
- do you need a full keyboard or would you like to cut down on e.g. the num block or the F keys to have more desk space (and often save a little bit of money)
- if you dont need your keyboard to be quiet, what sound do you prefer? it can be e.g. a deep sound, we call that "thocky", "creamy" describes itself perfectly and "clicky" or "clacky" are your typical keyboard sounds the first being a bit higher pitched and the latter in between clickly and thocky
- is it important to you that it can be used wireless?
if you know the answer to most of these or need help with what you really want, then we can narrow your options down 🙂
It's my first time buying a keyboard cuz I'm a laptop guy
- First time knowing that there's quiet keyboards, I thought everyone likes the sound of clicking 😅 but maybe not that noisy I would say
2.Idk wdym by this but I play calm and competitive games so Iam a lil aggressive with the keys 😃that why I broke my laptop keyboard
3.I don't really care about rgb but if it's not expensive why not - preferably with the F keys and right numbers keys
6.Idk tbh, it depends if it's mid range and wireless why not but I'm good with only wired keyboard
it’s a decent board
for £35 you can’t really do better new
you want a numpad and F row?
Yeah
the 2nd is about when you press a key on your current keyboard, you can feel a point where your key just gives in and basically presses itself, right?
I was watching a vd and they mentioned "Magnetic Hall Effect Switches" is this what you talking about?
Welp it's my first keyboard so Idk what would I prefer 😀 but I'll make more research about it to fully understand
as 2012 suggested the best possible thing would be to get a switch tester, that way you can test a lot of different ones before you buy a full keyboard/switches
if not linear switches are pretty inoffensive
ajazz linear switches are pretty good
just try what you think is good
HE (Hall effect) switches are very premium switches that offer advantages mostly tailored towards esports players with a few benefits that us normal humans can use, like prgramming a key to be walking when pressed less than half way and running when more than half
but most of the time you pay a premium that is rather unnecessary
idk about recommending linear switches blindly.
im certainly not an expert but switching from tactile to linear can be quite terrible and i personally dont want that experience ever again
the other way roudn is some getting used to, but when switching to linear, you will just have a lot of accidental key presses
(the amount of times i used my ult in league when i had linear switches was horendous)
ajazz linear switches have a really long travel before actuation
assuming they are coming from a tactile switch
ofc
Sorry but are these branches of linear switches or a keyboard name 😅
Also I found out that clicky switches don't fit me, they seem so fast with clicking them and pretty noisy
a brand that makes switches (ajazz)
Oh ok, so they prob mention them beside the keyboard name
Oh it's the one that I liked "Keyboard AJAZZ AK680"
Epomaker
epomaker is ass
Is this clack
No, it's click
Thocky piano
It's just a controler. and the keys are cheap. they arent weighted at all
buy a realforce
Lube those mx blues
In the process of looking for my blood pressure machine, I have found I own 6 mechanical keyboards...
Cool
Why u have to make a blood pressure machine
not cool...mental problems
When u can buy one
make?
are you using a translator?
I bought one a while back and got out of the habit of using it, but I kinda wanna use it again
Hmm ?
I would love to own 6 keyboard too if i have the space
IF i count the non-mechanical, I have about 2 or three more
and my midi controller...and my rockband keytar that has a midi port
I dont see any problem with having 9 keyboards
lol. thanks
What seems to be problem then
none of them are a blood pressure monitor
My grandparents each of them had one lol
on the plus side, i think I found a program that will let me load soundfonts and use my midi controller
so after some reserch I think the keyboard should have these requirements (hot-swap, NKRO, anti-ghosting, PBT keycaps, USB-C, and gasket mount or foam layers I think they're the same) so AJAZZ AK820 or EPOMAKER EK68 provide them but no magnetic switches or rapid trigger which I think it's fine cuz magnetic switches just gives more durability I believe, correct me if I'm wrong
the problem is Idk if I can find these keyboards here cuz I'm buying locally not from online stores
buying local in most places means you are restricted to rubberdome keyboards.
i have never in my life seen a mechanical keyboard in a store once
magnetic switches give you less latency, which is only subconsciously. keyboard latency is already so low you dont notice it and HE switches can imprve that, but unless you are getting paid to play esports titles it doesnt make a difference.
the uses of HE keys that could interest you are that they dont only notice if a key is pressed or not but also how far it is pressed, meaning you can program a key to act like an analog stick on your controller.
20% pressed key → 20% steering
or 0-49% pressed means walking and 50-100% means running.
thats pretty much the only thing HE offers to a normal human being and imo not worth the price uplift for most people unless you are sitting on way too much money (at which point i would consider donating money, even to freinds or strangers or to charity, that will likely give both them and you more enjoyment out of the money)
Pbt keycaps ??
Yeah there's ABS and PBT keycaps
Pbt is abs
Are you sure !?
Lol is this chat gpt
abs is horrible
they start feeling oily or greasy after a while
i’ve never felt that on a pbt cap
It is true that it makes mistakes sometimes, but it's better than opening bunch of sites to get one thing
exactly
sounds wised most people prefer abs
u have to be picky when choosing pbt keycaps else u will end up in terrible sets
disagree
buy the absolute cheapest set you can find
which will ended up terrible
👍
made that mistake when i was new
pbt's , u should look out on xmi/crp
and aifei semi transperants
is such BS when pbt is considered more "premium", based on producers
like this chart here tries to bring abs down compared to pbt
AIs just collect people's overviews
most common things that people complain about using ABS or what they like about pbt, this how AI works
AI collect what people want to see, not 100% exactly what is true
I don't want my finger to slip while playing or notice the print disappearing on the keys after a while (UV printing)
which is another reason that stopping me from buying Keyboard AJAZZ AK680
because it's based on their feedbacks
it's so complicated in my country cuz they don't use the actual price of 1dollar so prices here are doubled I would say under 50dollars
so what is ur budget in ur currency
hmmm below 10,000DA which is 74 dollars in reality but here it gets down to 45
they feel fine
definitely feel better then abs
Anyone know a good place to get a hall effect ps5 controller
Other than scuff cuz that shits like $250
See if 8bitdo makes some
I know they make Xbox controllers
Unfortunately they dont got any
gulikit?
but they are not exactly xbox controllers to begin with so ehhhh
might be more economical to buy their hall effect joystick and paid your local repair shop to switch them in
Ill have that as an option
so my tecware phantom 105 just arrived, which has outemu switches
i also got Outemu Cream Yellow Pro Silent switches from monacokeys as well as their silent lime V3
both switches wont fit into the keyboard, does anyone know why?
show the keyboards pin holes
and the switches pins
like this
the pin looks bent, that might be the cause?
well now its bent 😄
what if its rivet
just to make sure you're not trying to insert it upside down, right, the pins should be in the bottom
no thats not the problem
i undid 8 keys at first to have 4 of each to test
and slotting in the original switches was super easy
socket size too small
but the new ones were impossible, i tried 1 of each
the pins even slot into the holes but they are also too long and before bending it back it had like an S shape because the tip bent inside the hole
@young spoke https://keebhut.com/ they are having a close down sale, see if u can grab anything nice for cheap
sadge keeb hut
:<
but even with the pins down the switch wont go in
i also held the pins of the switches side by side
and besides the new ones being a few mm longer, they are otherwise almost identical in thickness
£11 keycaps might be good
one of my keycaps already broke and another has a crack in the stem :(((
switch are on good deal too
get those last melodics
nah i dont like those
last 5 pack last time i updated
not an instabuy kind of price
oh if there's no evene 110
their shipping is cheap though
if its insta buy do u think u will have the chance lul
idk but there's no point buying if they're not
only a savings of like $7 on a full set of 110 after shipping vs milktooth prices now
if I could
omg my switches are 5 pin the keyboard is 3 pin
clip the pins
already did that
just cut the 2 plastic pins off
thats how i got the other pin S shaped
and while the key works
its also a little bit higher and the switch doesnt feel like its fully isnerted
you see that?
idk if i want to cut 210 pins tbh
(which also voids switch warranty)
it doesnt void warranty
oh I see now, I don't think you clipped them flush enough
Idk why I thought that was just the natural molded in shape on the bottom because now its obvious
I wouldn't want to clip them either though
the ones that were clipped are at the bottom of the switch in the picture
if you meant those at the top, thats just some small stabilizer drops of plastic or sth
its the white point on the left that is missing on the right side
(just if this changes anything)
This image
honestly you probably need to sand them
that's why I wouldn't recommend
oh god that bottom pin is fucked
yep
its folded down
I had to clip pins twice ever, for a couple sockets on a keychron K10 that are only 3 pin for some reason, and I had to use a metal file to get them flush
never for a full keyboard
nah you can fix that
I know, will take a while
the problem is all of them would bend like this bc the side pin is too long for the hole and reaches the PCB way too soon
on the bottom its fien but the one on the right always bends like this
already got this far just with fingernails
I think you need a new keyboard or 3 pin switches
only got 10 of each switches for a total of 11€ i think so its those
and the keyboard comes with metal switch puller
so i would rather stick with the keyboard
1 euro for a switch is crazy
this goes against my morals but possibly the TTC silent bluish white will make you happy
Or are you interested in silent linears
i will give linears another shot now that i can just test them
Those are mushy as hell
and tbh this is already much less terrible than wootings absolute garbage
I don't have any silent linears to tell tbh
I wish lichicx wasn't dead because those wouldn't be mushy
Thocky keyboard
silent clicky Kappa
Outemu silents
Thats the place i shopped for mice yesterday
they have enough lmao
never heard of that shi
Chinese mouse
They wont go wrong
Except attackshark
Chose this one specifically because they are the only one provided ergo mouse
fuck attack shark
See ven you knows
I dont game so i dont give a fuck what kind of pawsensor inside it
Those are light for a big mouse 55g
for my desired formfactor there wasnt even a mouse with the newest paw sensor xD
if i buy a "no liguide" version of a switch, is it guaranteed 3 pin then?
the pictures are still with 5 pins
I highly doubt there's a 3 pin version of that switch
Where does it say that or what liguide means
chatgpt which is why confirming it beforehand xD
that sounds about right for chatgpt
do you guys know where i can get 3 pin silent switches?
i got confirmed that the issue are the 2 extra pins but all the v1 outemus arent available anywhere.
The only tactile ones I know are TTC silent bluish white
what the realforce guys name again?
can someone tag him with this picture?
everytime i see them i need to type "Renkforce is better" afterwards
xD
cut the extra pegs off
Renkforce is better
holy crap this thing is insane
Layer Resolution Low 100 micron (0.004 in.)
Layer Resolution High 50 micron (0.002 in.)
renkforce is an actual company that does computer hardware among other things
like i could buy that keyboard i sent for 5 bucks
its goona be utter garbage but it exists
if they have a 5€ silent keyboard i wil lgenuinely order it xD
its even an aluminum casing WTF
shipping is more than the keyboard itself I CANT
i wanna buy an hhkb sometime but its such a large investment
whats special about hhkb? topre?
yes
but realforce has better topre?
i believe the switches are internally the same, maybe a different housings, or plate from the manufacturer of kb
whatever it is, renkforce is even better
topre and the layout
i figure if im gonna buy a topre board i might as well double down
thats why i havent gotten a realforce tkl
they arent even that expensive
115 new
this 50% or whatever layout is way to minimalistic for me
uh id like to see where you got that
theyre like $250-300 new in usa
just ebay
commercial account with 1k+ sails
idk if i trust it to be honest
maybe market is different there
its like $150 used here
yeah its actually quite nice if when people have rights and the countrys economy isnt bent over backwards
i think the economy is generally better here though than in eu
just used market doesnt reflect that
thats from experience trying to buy pc parts for people in other countries
good thing is u dont have to think as its well documented and pretty much u just run average wages vs purchasing power
https://www.socialeurope.eu/living-conditions-how-germany-outperforms-the-us
and by that the US gets u way lower living standards than other countries, as they have a solid GDP per capita, but that doesnt reach the average worker but gets stuck on billionaires
even more than in e.g. euopean countries
what
??1?1?1?1?1?1
realforce or hhkb don’t have “better topre” between them
bro stop getting mad about a question thats also a joke just so i can say "renkforce is better" to the "realforce is better" guy
all good mate
heading to bed now, have a good one fellas
also this is used btw
hhkb pro 2s stopped production in like
i’d like to say 2019 but i don’t know
it could’ve been sitting a warehouse but yea
"Neu" is the gemran word for new
they are lying
if its indeed used thats free thousands of euros
as you can sue them for fals advertising
even if it was in a box for 6 years the domes would still age and probably wouldn’t be considered new by most
dome age is based on use too but Yeah!
u probably wouldn’t get a real case
no you wouldnt
dont even have to attend court
those things are settled by consumer protection
got my own case against wooting rn
would it really be possible on a random ebay seller though
of course there’s probably a company backing it
its a legit physical store as well
oh i see
you cant have an official seller account on ebay without properly exisiting
its not a user accoutn
u could definitely get a better deal on a charcoal hhkb pro 2 though
cough cough https://buyee.jp/ mercari
but a seller with 1k+ sold products on ebay
im not getting hhkbs
was just interested in price and looked up
yeah i’m just saying that for the love of the game
joekay
alright man
if u want a cheap hhkb… buy a charcoal pro 2 from mercari using a proxy service…
it’ll probably still be cheap even with tariffs +shipping to us
considering you can get them for like
as low as 55 usd with like a month of looking
but realistically ur looking at 70 usd
although i’m not a us citizen so i can’t really guarantee that
Pro 2 for 55 bucks ?
that sounds like a scam
is there really an hhkb with a full arrow keys??
most are $200-300 though that I see
that's the only one I see below $180
there's one for $150 but the keycaps are all worn into pieces
as in its not actually by PFU or as in its not the professional
is it not topre
whats a good budget ultrawide? like 32-34 inches. specs dont really matter i need this for a office PC
What racing wheel and pedals should I get for plus or minus $300
How many hours per day will this be used, and what kind of office work?
dealership
uhhh
at least more than 50% of the day im sure
itll be on pretty much all day yeah
Gotcha, so color acurracy isn't important, but being able to show customers car colors will likely matter. I would look for a sale on one of Dell's S or P series business monitors. U series would be nice, but they're more money.
https://www.dell.com/en-ca/shop/dell-34-plus-usb-c-curved-monitor-s3425dw/apd/210-brmv/monitors-monitor-accessories
alr bet, tysm
this is a like model
lite*
no topre
u definitely will lol
many many hhkb sell for like
the 60-90 range
specifically charcoal models in japan
there are hhkb with arrow keys though
hhkb pro jp and etc
just jis layout hhkbs
oh im only looking for ansi
maybe only in japan
that’s why u use a proxy service
really good deals
in my opinion if u want a cool hhkb u should spend a little
more time and money
in japan still
how do you switch to the japan market
use https://buyee.jp or another proxy service
xianyu is way more annoying to buy from
does buyee have an online shop
i just linked it?
buyee IS an online shop
hmmm
they got proxy too lol
if you want good deals focus specifically on yahoo auctions jo and mercari
there’s a few differences
classic / hybrid (although they’re very different from 1 another) use usb c
compared to the pro 2’s usb type b mini
the pro 2 has a 2 port usb hub on the back
the pro 2 is much older running from 2006-2019(?)
it wont let me search for different things wtf
and i’m pretty sure classic/bt/hybrid domes are age resistant
ALSO pro 2s have abs spacebars
imo pro 2 boards are better
?
by the way for the best deals stay on used marketplaces
i have to go to the main page to change my search terms
e.g rakuten rakuma (the blue one, not the red one, also this one is not very active for hhkb)
yahoo auctions jp
yahoo fleamarket jp (not very active)
mercari
just scroll up
there’s a search bar at the top
yeah it just changes back when i search
wait a second before hitting enter
you can use a different proxy service if you see fit
like https://sendico.com
but imo buyee has the best service regardless of kinda bad website
and sendico you have to know what ur looking at more on the website
they have one hhkb classic
ur probably on yahoo auctions jp as that’s the default
if you search multiple marketplaces there’s going to be more
although no one really buys classics cause they’re lame and expensive ish
ALSO ALSO search terms can be really important on these proxy sites
like for example i have a scraper running to specifically notify me whenever a hhkb professional 1 is listed because they’re really rare and i want to buy them
my search term is “pd-kb300” which is the model number on the back of hhkb pro 1’s
this will also show me pd-kb300b, 300nl, and 300bn listings
although a 300bn listing will probably never be seen by my eyes
how do you check multiple marketplaces
whats lame about the classic, it has usb c
that alone seems like a huge improvement
just click on mercari, rakuten raluma or yahoo fleamarket in the sidebar or under the search bar
i recommend mercari
mercari is the best
domes don’t age
also iirc they feel pretty significantly different to pro 2 domes
people also claim snow hybrids compared to regular hybrids feel different
i can’t really confirm because i don’t own a hybrid/classic/bt
this is preference though, if you like pro 2 domes and aged domes more you’ll like the pro 2 more
isnt that a good thing
in my opinion no
i really like the heavier harsher feel of old domes
it’s preference but i think a lot of people would agree with me
also what’s cool is that you can just replace the pro 2 domes if you don’t like them
metakeebs has some new domes that were made to replicate the snow hybrid feel and apparently they’re really good
whats that feel
i’m gonna buy some myself in 55g instead of 45g probably
i don’t own a snow hybrid but i’ve heard people describe it as like
bouncy
i think if you’re going to buy a hhkb you should start with a pro 2 because they’re much cheaper than the newer models and you might even prefer it
all down to you though
im curious how similar itll be to my current keyboard with big bump silents
because theyre suppsoed to be similar apparently
probably not very similar
you’ll have to see
if its like these but lighter it would be great
do u know how heavy the springs are
i see
you’d probably have to get one to tell but hhkb pro 2 domes (and all other topre hhkb boards) came as 45g
theyre equivalent to the invokeys daydreamer aparently
this is kind of wobbly though because of aging
i’ve heard people say they’re closer to 70g when they have had decent aging but imo i can’t reallly tell
does the dome weight change the bottom out force
iirc 45g refers to 45g bottom out
i’m not fully sure though because it could refer to key actuation
i guess it probably changes both
oh wait they would probably be the exact same number
because rubber dome collapses
or maybe it will feel like a soft version of the outemu pears....
how do i search more markets on buyee
oh
do i have to manually select one
thats not good
more expensive than mm
$60 entries for keycaps
theres nothing on mechmarket
oh nobody types the model number on mechmarket
they say $160 shipped does that mean theyre paying shipping
Hi, I have a HHKB Pro 2 for sale today. It is lightly lubed with 205g0 and has Unreal Keyboards Silencing rings. I also have a set of MX sliders that will be included. The escape key currently has one of these MX sliders installed, but the original will also be included.
damn
im not a topre geek
I'm thinking about getting a new keyboard and I had a Corsair K63 but it was mediocre. So I'm torn between getting some Keychron model or Ducky One 3. Any thoughts?
budget?
max 150 €
what form factor and what switch type
tenkeyless and brown/tactile
would be nice to have Linux compatibility or driverless setup
blue is okay too but red switches are too light for me
disagree
i like some brown switches
keychron makes some great boards for that spec
the V3 max is a safe bet
or Q3 max if you can find it for cheap
okay i will check 'em out, thanks 🙂
Evo80
ok, I'll go with a Ducky one 3 with shine through RGB :p
hmmm or a Keychron with custom keycaps for shine through
if u already decided what is the point of asking us
evo80 and the keychron v3 max are definitely better options
also shine through caps are readily available
if you want to find cheap pro 2s or general hhkbs search “hhkb”
model number only works well with pro 1s because they’re very obscure and hhkb professional is in a lot of listing names
they're still expensivr
oh and they're all the BT only model
I found 3 at $130
"HHKB Professional HYBRID Type-S (or similar model, depending on the specific HHKB keyboard) by PFU Limited. A mechanical keyboard."
OK maybe this listing is a bit sketchy
The picture shows a 2008 pro2
i truly do not know what ur doing wrong
good deal on a bt
although u could get way better
great deal imo
that is the image
but it’s a hhkb pro 2 type-s for like £115
it’s best you wait for better deals to show up as right now there’s not much good
maybe the american market is too different
I don't want a BT only model though since I will always use a cable
I found that one though
but I ignored
Idk how you see any $75 or whatever
Just get one on xianyu
^
I don't know about that one
Chinese ebay
Easy to buy from nowadays as long as you don’t mind paying a shit exchange rate
is it 2.taobao.com
No
xianyu is painful imo
Nah
MSI's MP251 E2 (120Hz "HDR supported" business monitor) has a (claims to) contrast ratio of 1500:1 -- whilst their G244F E2 (180Hz gaming monitor) has a contrast ratio of 1000:1...
Will I see the difference?
HDr on non miniLED/OLED monitors is just a filter anyway
also 1500 and 1000 for the human eye is just practically the same.
if there are differences then 95% is because the panels are different and are calibrated differently.
the objectively worse monitor can be more appealign to you because you like e.g. a picture beeing too green and the monitor being miscalibrated to just your liking
thats way more noticeable than marginally better contrast
Ah, alright. Makes sense
I guess no use in going with the 120Hz MP251 E2? - Since the G244F E2 is like barely 20 US more
120 vs 180 HZ really depends on you, unless you put a specific test on the screen, my eyes dont see the difference between 60Hz and 165
others notice going down from 144 to 120HZ
(and your PC consistently achieving close to the max refresh rate)
I haven't been able to test the difference myself... Since I've been stuck on a 75Hz 900p monitor
ideally for lowest latency ~3 FPS lower than max refresh rate with Gsync/freesync enabled
The games I usually play though can easily hit 180Hz - if not more
there is a techless video i can link that explains latency optimizing in detail if u want
Hm, that could work.
Thank you eitherway for the info
Should you turn G-Sync on? What about V-Sync? Should you use an FPS limiter? Which settings are the best for low latency gaming?

I'll give it a quick watch
its just 8 minutes but on a quick note
Gsync/adaptive sync: on
V-sync: off
FPS cap 3-4 Hz lower than monitors max (i got mine at 161 while 165 is its max)
Nvidia reflex/radeon anti lag: on (if available, just a bonus)
Will return when done
How does having a slightly lower capped FPS than the rated refresh rate help with latency?
1 makes sense to me as most monitors dont actually have 165 but like 164.998 or sth
but he specifically sais at least 2 FPS
idk, he is the real expert and tested and measured everything rigorously
164.998
~0.001% FPS gone
I don't understand why that one is done
Why is it not an even number
Does the timing not line up or something
apparently it has to do with flickering
and old TV standards that had 59.94Hz
so many 120 or 180 hz and so on monitors are just that TV standard x2/3/4/... (or cut in half/3/4/..., however you view it)
and on round Hz like 144 (which is 2x of 72, which is another old TV standard) or 165 its mostly to mitigate artifacts, primarily flickering but also aliasing or screen tearing
especially aliasing i have no clue how a round hz numebr affects that but again, thats people way smarter than me who actually got into the topic are talking so who am i to disagree with 0 proof
1 frame a minute to get rid of a lot of artifacts
