Ugh I wish I had gotten the Q5
I hadn't used the Q6 in a while before this week and damn it's wide
I mained full size for years but I've gotten quite used to where I position my arms with 75%
Bring a typewriter
Just get a tkl really
integrated numpad is very useful
this is for an office
Buy external numpad
I do have a model M sitting in the closet
Zupya gmk21
Which model specifically
Wtb
I don't see that being as convenient
Best bet to bring that nodel m to your office
Finding it in your parents attic after 30 years of storage priceless
Yeah lol
Is yours in good condition
Uhhh
I always wanted one for collecting
Mid condition
It need some elbow grease
But the chassis is physically fine as far as I'm concerned just need to deep clean
Yeah it's been in the closet for a while so I haven't actually taken a close look at the chassis in a minute
But I did test it in 2021 and it was working
Maybe keep a lookout for estate sales
I dont live in us
Old people die in other countries, too
Indeed

i doubt
not going to be “quietest”
maybe compared to other major brands
but interesting addition to the market
quietest I am aware of is akko penguin
Superlative adjectives = gimmicks
Producers should stop having hot takes for their products
guys am i cooked
when i move my view in game my gpu coil whine corresponds to the movement
and its AUDIBLE from outside the case
Yeah are u on a 960 lol
2070super
my 2060 used to do the same
dude i can make a beat with my coil whine by moving my cursor in a game
no performance or reliability issues tho. just really loud coil whine that corresponds perfectly to head movements in game
it sounds like a stylophone
and works like one
Update the driver ?
lol i doubt that will change coil whine but i'll give it a shot
Maybe give it a clean too
does lubing tactile switches make any difference?
or is Lubing something only really done on linear swiches
yes
lube can be done in any switches
hi guys, which mouse is better?
razer cobra(wired) or logitech g304(wireless)?
i would always defer to the wireless mouse
so much nicer to use for fps games and in general
anyone know a good keybaord to get for $200 nzd $120 usd?
tactile switches still have rails and springs just like linears. you can also lube the stem leg depending on if you can sacrifice a bit of tactility
some are prelubed on the legs even
for some reason my monitor blacks out whenever i watch a specific part of this one video, but also only in fullscreen?? can anyone help
HP probook connected to monitor via HDMI btw
i can provide the video timestamp if it matters
Tru to chnage the cable
better stabs, lubing, shorter pole switches or longer pole stabs
sometimes the wire is not straight
and also occasionally on whatever the stabilizer housings are mounted on that can also cause rattle if they wiggle in place and that creates some noise
also
how do i take a switch out without that switch grabbing tool
i only got the keycap puller
i got the K70 pro from coi
corsair
HE
tweezers if you don’t mind moderate cosmetic wear on the clips
stabilizer rattle isn’t usually caused by switches
$
but it can be, if you have long pole switches with stabilizers that are made for medium-short pole as an instance
i can hardly take the switch out with
tweezzers
and what can i do about the poles
if you’re using stock stabilizers and switches i would assume the issue is that the stabilizers on the k70 are bad
replace them
but in order to that
but i don’t think it’s worth modifying that board
if it’s not plate mounted yes
idk if it is
i would just get a new keyboard probably, unless there is a reason why you don’t want to replace it
or can’t
do that
uh, you can probably get better for your money
is it comfortable or just hard piece of rubber
nah its pretty good
have you tried software from different companies or is it that you just like the corsair software
yeah
i tried logitech keyboards
and its horrible
they only let you remap keys from F1 to F12
never going logitech for keyboards
with corsairs software i can easily make shortcuts and choose my rgb settings
well, uh that is pretty much standard
i also tried razer keyboards
but corsair is more clear
i also like the adjustable key actuation
i also like it that its heavy
it never slides away like my previous keyboard
well, if you like it, but for ~$140 you can ge better honestly, unless you can’t buy from the dozens of he keyboards on the market
i mean
my options were
ducky one 3, steelseries apex pro , k70 pro or K8 keychron
you’re better off buying keyboards from a different region like asia
where you get most cheap HE
also i type on Belgian layout
oh
well, you can buy a Belgian set of keycaps but probably not cheap nor very available i assume
yeah
last time i was looking
they were almost the same price as a keyboard
the cheapest ones were 40
but those were low quality
like straight out of the factory without quality control
i also checked aliexpress
but i couldnt find them
and belgian layout is an ISO layout
instead of the regular ANSI qwerty layout
what about other sites
welp, whatever, so if you’re going to stick with that board, try replacing the stabilizers
and not even backlit
but ngl
its not that bad
i only hear the rattle if i listen closely
and the backspace hits a piece of foam or smthing
i feel it get cusioned by something
but i dont know what
and its the only the key that has a "cushioning" feel
do you know why?
maybe there is some foam or something when the big keys bottom out
i don’t really know much about that keyboard so
now that i search about the board it seems like some stuff is soldered so you’ll not be able to replace the stabilizers easily
i think i would just return the keyboard if i were you
that sucks for a $140 keyboard
even worse
then what better option is there
at that point… just get a wooting and mod it for example
thats more expensive
even just the module
30€
then i gotta waste 80 eur for keycaps
so im close to 310 then
so this keyboard i have costs 2x less
and they literally got the same specs
rapid trigger
adjustable acutation
8k poling rate
on ali?
ye
i dont trust the quality of ali keyboards
i’m not sure… about the quality of that corsair keyboard
the module is pretty nice and heavy
€170 for you, unmodable, meh stabilizers, not all of the switches are HE from what i can find
i wouldn’t buy that keyboard for each of these reasons, but this board has three cost cutting points
or what they didn’t think through
yeah its not hotswap
i couldve gotten a ducky one 3
that is hotswappable
+has belgian layout
- cheaper too
but they are not HE
the issue is it’s with combination of not being able to replace the stabilizers because they’re not standard plate mounted
big L from corsair
especially that they’re not tuned
just return the keyboard while you can
i need to know what i should get in the place then
it has to be around the same price point or cheaper
chinese HE if you can’t afford wooting or the other expensive counterparts
Aimlabs is 16GB...
i mean spending €170 on a keyboard that you can’t even replace the stabilizers on…
maybe wait for a wooting sale?
dont wanna wait long
is stabalizer on my backspace that big of a deal?
i dont have any rattle on my other keys
i also listened to the soundtest of wooting 80he
and its not my thing tbh
it is more customizable which i like
it’s literally up to you
i mean you asked
i think personally that rattle is unacceptable on a €170 keyboard
but that’s just me
yes, 90% of the major gamer brands get it wrong, that’s why i dislike them because their pricing is also off according to that
if it was third or quarter the price okay
yeah fair but they are easier to find though
like i can test almost any gaming board in a store
like with wooting
you just gotta blindbuy
and hope for the best
i mean yeah there is basicly always a trade-off
want better customer support? the product is likely to become more expensive
site marketting, ads, esport sponsoring? also likely to increase the prices
and some companies tend to want higher margins than others, have higher taxes or tariffs, employees require higher living standards, etc.
and… also having the keyboards on display could correleate to higher price
yeah it’s just not very nice to get kinda cheaped on a €170 board
yeah but i cant find a better board
anyways if you’re keen on keeping the keyboard, you could try lubing the stabs without removing them from the mounting but you’ll not be able to properly lube the wire for example
like directly on it
yes, try atleast lubing the stem and housing interior walls
with a smaller brush
otherwise i can’t really help you, unless you’re capable of desolding the board
yes, all the switches that are not hotswappable
atleast
how i’m supposted to know…
Picture?
We're replacing the control knob on a GE Gas Range appliance model JGB280DEN1BB today.

@cobalt eagle right?
Unless there's a set screw, you probably just pull it...
yes
What board
corsair K70 pro HE
i really need to do something about the ttc silent bluish whites
i wonder if i try cleaning all the lube and redoing it myself itll help
but idk how to clean spring lube
I love the sound of the cherry speed silvers in my K65
But I love the feeling of my Pro Purples in my GMMK 3
looking at the speed copper?
do you like tactiles
I like tactile but not clicky
I have GMMK 3 that im buying switches for, brass switch plate and foam kit as well
really like the sound of the FR4 plate as well
thocky but tactile feeling would be what Im looking for
I ordered a set of speed coppers and an FR4 switch plate, I did watch about 47 videos on switches but didnt want to play switch roulette atm, only ordered because mine was a casualty of desk soup. and I absolutely hate the feeling of the K65 long term
bad buy imo
Realforce
so you are saying i should buy a differnet keyboard
i tried o-rings on a few keycaps and I don't really notice a difference
I'm going to proceed switching the board out to gateron blacks, try it for a few days, then o-ring all the keycaps and try that for a few days
Hi! I'm getting into mech keyboards for the first time, and need some suggestions. I have a budget of $80 USD [America] or so, but it's flexible.
I know I don't like linear keys, but noise is not an issue. I definitely want a numpad, and some form of shine-through backlight is preferred. I want a wired one due to prior bad experiences with overly expensive battery degredation repairs
i cant find anything better for the same price point
i mean there is always aliexpress
the wooting itself lol
because farts
yeah i think my K70 pro is the best i can get for 180
does it need to be HE
i mean yeah
its so nice that i can just lightly tap my keys sometimes to type something
have you tried speed switches
nope
i think they should do similar
but those switches are not adjustable
since mechanical has more options, probably more affordable ones if you dont specifically need the HE advantages
like i sometimes press more than 1 key
on accident if i put the actuation point too low
so when im gaming i just put it abit lower and if i need to type faster than usual i enable it to be lighter
and the switches i got are 45 gf
so they are light+adjustable
most boards at that price point are dogshit
you either buy something like wooting or drunkdeer or get a non he board
get the 60
bro got brainwashed by advertisement
The wooting is worth it , but the 2x price point could be making you skeptical about getting it , the 60HE is smaller and less expensive , but if you check the 80HE specifically , I assume you would want the 80% layout over the 60%
The actuation point and travel aren’t the same , a HE keyboard uses magnetic switches , and most of them have adjustable actuation points , the one is the wooting can adjust to 0.1mm (some switches adjust to 0.2mm and don’t go to 4mm fully)
made68 did the same thing
They did , but their actuation point , software and variety of features lack
do you actually use 0.1mm though, that seems like even just vibrations could move it
I can't imagine less than like 1mm
Yes , I personally do
If you start to add up and change to something like 3.5 instead of 4.0 it does offer much more personal personalization
Some would prefer using 0.1 as adjustment over 0.2
Fair enough point
no, they did the same thing
99% of things
only difference is their design and software
even a 20$ aula win68 HE got 0.01 actuation lol
people whwo buy HE are either rythmn players, pro players, or the wannabe pro players
then there's me playing competitive minecraft with 4mm big bump tactiles
4mm too much though even for typing
is maximum lol
yeah
Regular player won’t look in details , they want bang for the buck , you just have the most out of every game that exist , in competitive fps you most have players who want to be at the top or to be competitive , why do you think some want higher refresh rate monitors , fast responsive mouses etc (it’s a bit off topic my fault)
Minecraft isn’t the same as a competitive fps but I get your point 🤣
Fair
yes thats why they end up on those madlion mad60/68
shithole keyboard
😂
had to buy one for a gamer friend
I had this one guy who spent like 3500$ on a pc , he bought a 360hz monitor and bought a knockoff wooting for SOCD
socd, get a topre
He tried it , he said it’s pure garbage
Because it had no software , and he thought once he had it turned on it would be like a Cronus zen offering you cheats in game
socd?
He was pissed to not be cracked right off the bad
It’s a software feature on he keyboard that allows you to press 2 opposite keys and go in the direction of the last one you pressed
Imagine you press A and D
A first and D second , usually you would stop and stand still
With SOCD on when you press A first and D second you go left don’t stop and go right
Yeah it’s banned on CS
Valorant allows it for now , they didn’t talk on the matter yet
Since it doesn’t impact the gameplay because they nerfed strafing and counter strafing long ago
i will buy a HE
at some point
but not in the near future
So to them it doesn’t give you an unfair advantage
will probably buy a sorta 300 bucks keyboard case and a venom pcb
to make it work
I played cops & crims on hypixel which is literally just cs ported to Minecraft
That’s fair enough , I got one in 2023 , so far in term of durability it’s pretty nice , the keycaps wear tho is questionable , but that’s just because of my usage mostly I guess
yeah

did I tell you guys about my rainy 75 keycaps wearing
will slam normal gmk's and stuff
to a HE board
make it overkill for those bronze valorant players
ive has the keyboard for like 6 weeks and the asd are already a bit smooth
cant fixx their skill tho
The stock config on it is fine , and since I’m not really a custom keyboard guy , I didn’t look much further into making one myself
i always recommend some of my fav HE's which are hummingbird68 and the tiger lite
atleast value wised is better than every other "gaming brand"
Exactly , the guy I talked about was like it’s so ass , and he was convinced it was a cheating hardware , like Cronus zen offering, but I kept telling him it’s not like a Cronus because it doesn’t give you an aimbot or recoil control off the bat , you have to configure SOCD and use it so you have the advantage in game
once i go to my local e cafe
and someone with a made68 doing 3/15 in valorant
just get ur skill up lah
Banned on Valve servers
FaceIt/Third Party matchmaking doesn’t care

It doesn’t make counterstrafing free, you still gotta understand the concept lol
makes sense since it's ewaste tier
the stepping or initial/first actuation?
0.01mm initial actuation point is usually false on those cheap HE boards
they do like 0.03+
slightly worse tolerances than wooting, but nonetheless usable
even funnier when they advertise 0.001mm
but yes, the more recent china HE boards are more accurate, just definitely not 0.001mm in all ranges
anyways, it’s mostly just a marketting number now
Planck rev 7 with vertex v1 switches and a 3d printed case
3d printed keycaps dont look that great but the ones i ordered havent arrived yet so i just used these
lovely !
cool time to buy a brass board
It's full aluminum surprisingly
I do want to buy a brass or maybe even copper neo60 cu
But tariffs
But also new semester so I'm gonna be eating the cost of textbooks for a little
no
orbit
neo87 full brass
tx eo 87
do you recommend anything from akko
i might wanna return the K70 pro and get an akko one
or any other brand (i want to stay below 200€)
Guys I got a thermalright assasin 120r digital and I have a question, the cpu cooler has a display which takes a 9 pin USB, I used all my usb 2.0 slots but can I plug the 9 pin into a usb 3.0 slot?
will replacing a key switch fix a chattering key or is a board problem (i have the gen 1 drop alt fwiw)
Try it and see
It can be either
only thing akko did good was their keycap puller
under 200 quid..
try evo80
lol i literally recommend this to everyone at this prcie range because they are so good
Hi there, I'm looking for a cheap smartwatch
I just need it to support WhatsApp, support calls, link-able to Samsung health app and have health functions such as heart and blood sensors
Just need to be a nice one, I don't mind getting something off aliexpress too as long as it's working well 👍🏻
Thanks in advance!
old apple watch
idk about those samsung apps
what do you think of glorious
its on the expensive side but EVERYTHING is customizable
Hi, I noticed that almost all the bulk usb C chargers sold on amazon seem to be advertised fradulently, I am wondering if anyone knows any brand that sells USB C chargers for several devices that actually works as advertised?
Anker is typically as advertised, but wonder how much of what you're seeing is just from using USB cables that aren't able to deliver the power
Not all USB-C cables are equal https://www.reddit.com/r/UsbCHardware/comments/15d0r0t/how_many_kinds_of_usbc_to_usbc_cables_are_there/
anker, ugreen
I grabbed this one recently too just because more Usb-C devices stacking up
https://a.co/d/brXdMm2
Can't say I've hooked a power meter to it yet but it seems to charge a laptop fine
Introducing the ultimate charging solution for all your devices - a USB-C charger with an impressive 10 ports! This powerhouse charger is designed to keep your gadgets fully charged and ready to go, no matter how many you have. With its sleek and compact design, it's perfect for home, office, or ...
I dunno about this brand but it seems to work and hasn't started on fire yet
Any recommendations for a KVM that supports:
• 2 × 1440p monitors
• 1 Mac Mini
• 1 MacBook Pro
I have an old Thunderbolt 3 Plugable dock that I want to replace. A KVM seems like a great fit for my setup, but I’m new to these devices and would appreciate some help.
Monitors are HDMI? and keeb/mouse USB-C? Think main thing to look out for is just that it has dual output and at the right refresh rate and resolution for whatever you run the monitors at.
I just got one massive 4k monitor, happens to have some KVM functionality built into it which is nice, bought it for high res/high refresh rate but is a nice bonus being able to hook up laptop with one cable and have everything hooked up
Monitors are HDMI and DP, can use either. I'm using DP right now.
Mouse is USB, Logitech Lift with dongle.
Keyboard is Bluetooth Keychron K8, can be USB.
I was checking the iDock C10 KVM
Ok this uses MST and Apple doesn't support it :c
Ah that is a bummer, kvms are more often just single output too since think original use case is more managing a server rack from one kvm setup so was more typical to see ones with tons of inputs rather than multiple monitor or extra peripheral support
You can get just standalone USB "switcher" basically a hub that hooks up to one of two connections to computer for sharing just peripherals and then use display port for one device and HDMI for the other but not like an ideal setup probably
the power allowed trough the cable is set by the chip in the cable , (only male-male connectors are official ones for this reason, extenders arent) so you have to take that into account aswell
usb over ethernet also exists 🙂
Opinions on wooting-like keyboards for rhythm games?
Been needing a new keyboard for ages now as I don't really like my current custom one and recently been getting into Project Diva rhythm games so thought Wooting-like keyboards would be nice for an advantage
is a complety trash
everything is customizable if u found the right thing
one of some things HE really made a difference
Every 75% HE keyboard seems to be around the 150-400€ mark so I'm thinking about getting an used Apex Pro TKL they can be found for around 50€
made68
cheapest "good ones"
bridge75 he ?
if u are on osu u only need 4-8 keys iiirc
get those wooting uwu thing
lol
if it has kaih sakura pink switches I'll probably definetily be getting it since they sound nice
guys whar is best 60% gaming keyboard under $60
Thoughts on the gateron quinn switches? Im looking at picking up a set
check out chinese HE
irok has some decent aluminum boards for €50+ if you bother buying it from china
are they any good
I got the seller down to 90€ on this with the pink sakura switches
yes
mg75 / pro
they have some asian reviews on youtube and bilibili
i would avoid the first wooting 60he clones which is the mad60/68 that is
there are better options already like the irok
the Irok is like 100€ for the MG75
aliexpress?
not a fan of the keycaps either on how they are with it being on the side instead of on the top
yeah i would probably skip aliexpress on that one, gotta order it from non international markets
through an agent
yes
so if the effort is not an option i think i would still stay wotht he mg75 as there aren’t many aluminum 75% he boards, aliexpress may drop those “coupons” again and bring the price down to €70
then I'll have to wait for ages when I can just pick up the Akko for 90€
easier to resell later on too
those €5 pbt keycaps with printing defects are always an option, or €10 set
(the defects aren’t that bad if you’re not picky)
alr, i’d check out the other plastic HE boards on aliexpress then too if you don’t like any
vgn for example
i don’t think the mod007 supports qmk so i don’t see much of a point other than having the 2 year warranty getting the akko
wb the v3 @dense flare
isn't qmk just software? Akko already has it's own software
to you guys that were wondering how i scratched a keycap removing a switch
this is how
i just installed a peanut latte and i can lift my entire keyboard by the switch
its not coming out
i mean if you want to do stuff such as modifying the software qmk makes it a tad easier as it’s open source
and has more support from communities
are you pressing down the clips hard enough? some switches have harder to press clips
or keycap is stuck to the switch?
yeah i was at the point where it was unclipped and slightly out of the plate, just trying to pull it the remaining part
ttc silent bluish whites are just insanely tight to the plate
rip
i mean i eventually got it out i just had to yank with a super sudden force a few times
that one must not have been swapped many times
hi everyone
Sounds gay
lol wtf why does the Windows key function as the Alt key and why does the Alt keys function as the windows keys
like both alt keys
did you smash the keyboard?
no
trying out the new akko keyboard currently
probably can be fixed through their software
i think there is a key combination to change that to normal
can be also fixed with a key combination but forgot
which one it is
New vs old keyboard
this Akko board is weird all the F keys function without having to press down FN key
but this also means my buttons for other stuff don't work that i've also setup on the F keys
like clip at F8 and mute mic at F12
ah i know what's wrong
this keyboard is on mac mode lol
this has the windows and mac switch in the weirdest spot ever
it's under the caps lock key
hello everyone, I am searching for the oil king switches and it is sold out on the gateron website and the keychron website but it is available on amazon. in amazon there are v2 and v3 but it doesnt mention any versions on the gateron website. does anyone know if the v2 or v3 are legit or not?
overlubed switches
Wym
is the akko mg75 right
It's a ~$50 aluminum he board with some decent features like ball catch and web software
ball catch is a downgrade
If you don't like foam you can instantly swap it out
ball catch is mor elike flaw catch
you know all those first time buyers will go recklessly on their keyboard
Well, that's their fault, just like you can damage a ribbon cable if you're less careful
The ball catch should last atleast about 100 disassembly cycles on the irok so that's fine by me
i love these people so much
ask everyone for advice of a "insert keyboard here" got told is bad, and buy it anyway
even though given some alternatives
🤷
hey buddy it's not that serious I just wanted something quick and local without having to wait a month or two for an aliexpress board
I'm so far really liking the Akko board I bought for 90€
It's usually two weeks but yh understandable
It would've been same price than the Akko
No point in that
- I would've had to wait a month on top of that
There were non aluminum alternatives too. But, whatever it's the past now
AliExpress says 2 weeks but never for me
Rip
for me the average is boutta 11 days if it promises a delivery guarantee
Excluding eu warehouses
I ordered something that had 2-3 week delivery time a month ago and I still haven't received it
no is alright
next time just dont ask anybody for advice if u decide to not follow it anyway
is just really akward
I think you can get a $1 coupon if you care or File a dispute if it allows you in the terms, or try contacting the seller on the status first
Was just asking if there's better options 🤷
i did gave you 2-3
after u said the made68 was a bit out of your budget man
I said I didn't want the made68 cuz it's 60%
The Bridge is also sold out
so all of those options we're bad
even offering me a yucky 60% keyboard when I was talking about 75% and TKL
Were* btw we're stands for we are
ik typo
Banned for typo
i'm extremely tired currently
Hope u get untired
redragon k673 or aula f75
holy shit my eyes
Beautiful isn't it
Neither
then what
whats your budget
anyone know a good 1440p 60hz monitor?
looking to upgrade from my 1080p tv to a good gaming monitor
also want gta VI to look as good as possible when it releases next year
$80
and i dont have a soldering iron
so forget about buildibg it
60hz?
thats not a gaming monitor anymore
yeah
okay
gta VI will be 30fps anyway
and ive never seen above 60hz
yeah true
im fine with 60fps tbh
trust me its good
wait what games u play besides gta
yeah but i dont need it
i mainly play solo games
so no reaction based games
ive only got one multiplayer game instaleld and its siege
not really
my whole gaming library installed is rdr2, gta, metal gear, assassins creed and death stranding
im a story game guy
yeah
curved is better for more immersive gameplay right?
yeah alr
so curved
ive seen some monitors but they are frm big stores that have marked up price alot
Standard IPS aswell, no fancy OLED
just makes it more expensive than it needs to be
here
@bitter oar i think you are more specialized in this field
what is a.co
lmao
oh its amazon shortened
like really
this looks perfect
i dont know that much about budget boards
yay
75hz asswell so ill get 15 more fps in some games
mhm
alr np
i have never heard of this brand before
i have doubts
its probably just another korean manufacturer
how
like
is he going mountain biking with his monitor
and there are youtube reviews so ig
do what u want
@worldly garden is probably more well versed in tech than me
if u can return it i think u can give it a shot
with me those are sketchy brands
I don't have the money for it, was gonna save to get the money for it.
I'm close to being able to by it with no financial hit backs, but if its not good I won't get it
look at known brands like samsung or lg, ... first
aoc etc
They usually alot more expensive

my friend had a g3
he liked it a lot
imo theres not really much reason to get a 24 inch monitor
27 inch is the sweetspot size for 1440p
24 is fine
but its more expensive
yes because its bigger
yea but its more expensive
yea if u are on a budget imo g3 gud
my country doesnt really use inches so i dont know the difference
what is the budget
thats not how hz works
the monitor refreshes at the refresh rate no matter what fps youre getting
but if i get more fps im getting more shown to me
even if i get 999 a 60hz will only show 60fps
getting frame rate above the refresh rate will still increase smoothness
to a certain extent
a bit
frametimes dont line up perfectly with refresh rate
thats what vsync/gsync is trying to fix
ive only ever had 60hz
youre not gonna notice much of a difference between 60hz and 75hz but if its the same price go for it
i was told to not get it
they said it wont last because its not a known brand
idk if this is true
well its more you cant trust it at all really
i dont know
dont know much about monitors or anything so i cant tell
panels that are still functional but didnt meet the specifications for other manufacturers
so is that bad
just get ips
what kinda games do u play
mainly story games
ok low refresh rate isnt as much of a problem then
the main reason i wanted to uprgade to 1440p was because of GTA VI, been waiting for it for a decade so i want to play it with the best looks possible
what pc specs
yeah gta vi is exclusive to Xbox Series X|S and Ps5 for like 2 years, just so they can optimise it for PC
i use a 1080p 60hz TV
i didnt even know they still sold 1080p tvs
my plan was to get a monitor just for gaming
funny enough its the same TV i played gta V on all those years ago
ive not upgraded alot
only thing i upgraded is my console
its old but it was high end back then, so its still fine for regular TV and Netflix
no thanks
bit expensive
i want to seperate my gaming and tv setup aswell
im moving soon anyway, i think my parents are giving me their old bedroom TV which is leagues better than my one
i just checked with them, its a smaller unit but it is 4K
to blind yourself sủe
and id rather game more up close with a curved screen
more immersion and just easier to see
is AOC a good brand?
but is it good
known =/= good
i found a 4k 60hz 27" monitor from AOC for 140
thats good
i probably would of spent similar on a 1440p you guys reccomended
lol what
but u play games
yes
is 4k too much for gaming
Xbox Series X supports 4k in some games
oh u are on a xbox
i said that before
mb didint notice
yeah
i thought u are playing those competitive games
thats where refresh rate came to handy
i think a lot of games on xbox are output at 4k
yeah
fortnite is rendered at 4k so if u have a 1080p or 1440p monitor its downgraded using super sampling
fortnite is just an example most games on it are like that iirc
oh ok
output resolution is always 4k
no
you can change that in settings
i think
i dont know about super sampling on consoles
as in the resolution the machine is outputting
u can then downscale it to 1440p or whatever u want
but the game internally is output at 4k
oh okay
i dont know what to do
somehow a 4k monitor is the same price as the 1440p one
so this one is a definet no go
i knoe
i didnt say that one was 4K
i mean it could be totally fine but u just dont know what ur getting
is there alot of risk to it
amazon are pretty generous with returns generally
this is where im concered
Brand ZZA
Screen Size 27 Inches
Resolution QHD 2560X1440
Aspect Ratio 16:10
Screen Surface Description 有光澤
it just swaps to chinese halfway down
it says "ZZA Certified Quality: Rigorously tested display performance with 1-year warranty and 24/7 technical support. Contact us for instant solutions."
one year warranty
google translate says bright/glazed
which means the screen is glossy
for me it says shiny
is that bad for monitors
no most monitors are glossy
it can be bad if youre using it in a bright room and the monitor doesnt have a good anti reflective coating
which id be pretty certain that one doesnt
it wouldnt be facing towards any light source
would be fine then
I am thinking of looking at budget, low sound keyboard again. I like my current basic membrane but wanna try some slightly larger and nicer feeling keyboards but don’t wanna make too much noise. The Aulaf75 and the A.JAZZ AK820 Pro are both ones I have looked at.
65% to 85% for under 120 cad
what are your requirements?
mechanical 60-75% thocky and volume knob
at that price i wouldn’t get the reddragon or f75
is keyboard and a macropad an option for example?
sure ig
mb for long response i was on a flight
Something like womier sk71 pro or sk75, bridge75 or inky75 that biooc mentioned could be interesting, there's a lot to choose from, tens of keyboards. + Some macropad with knob because the aluminum ones usually don't have one and monsgeek's older model knobs kinda suck from my experience, but those should be fixed now with the recent models, but they're kinda over $80 with keycaps and switches
thx
wait whats the difference between sk71 and sk75
As for major difference i would say there's is a badge on the sk71 pro instead of couple keys which can be a deal breaker for some
but it's cheaper
there's something i haven't seen yet... ergonomic mechanical keyboards
be careful because its a huge rabbit hole
and a money sink
U havent seen so many things
Copper foil modded space bar vs stock
what the mod xd
I line the inside of the cap with adhesive copper foil which actually acts as a decent dampener for higher frequency resonances.
It almost acts like a low pass for the keycap
very cool
I rock clickies so I actually prefer minimal damping
Fair. I tend to go for deep but with as much gain as possible
Neo 75 is one of the few boards I even leave the stock foam in as a result. Usually I go foamless and use more efficient methods to lower the pitch
also, my hotswap socket somehow hasn't failed yet
been using the current chassis for 4 years. good old gk61x, the old budget option
Circuit short simulator ?
Power flows through the space bar now? This is news to me
Last I checked keyboards didn't run on 10kV, so I probably don't need to worry too much about an arc from any node on the PCB to the space bar then to some other point after.
also, it's on the keycaps, not even on the PCB
Get it, sound as dumb as hipyo tech mods
Wouldn't say that, as it was literally planned based on a simulated response curve of the material.
I upgraded a $39 Keyboard with ONLY $20. Can I make it better than a $60 keyboard or is it all for nothing?

can anyone confirm if the wireless charging capabilities of a Logitech Powerplay Gen 1 charging mat work if I use an LTT desk mat instead of the stock cloth mousepad that the PP Gen 1 came with?
I’m like 99% sure Linus did that in one of his “pc in a desk for my office” videos
or something like that. Can’t quite remember exactly what video.
Did she give up on watches already
Watches?
I haven’t watch any of her watches vid but she had one a month ago so no she didn’t give
at the beginning of the year she said she was gonna stop doing keyboard videos entirely and switch to watches
Or idk if it was exactly at the start but somewhere early in 2025
It def didnt happen lol
Made a response curve of different materials inorder to plan damping based on which acted more as a low pass in an averaged response against a control
That is really cool
How did you make response curves of materials
oh you got yourself a powered press / force tester?
i hope you’re not measuring frequencies on your board by manually pressing down keys with your hands, as i said before that would not be accurate
and speculating over how a frequency response would look after adding a layer of X is even less accurate unless you have some very advanced piece of software that can do such task
it’s not that simple as just applying dampening / reflective, etc. properties of a material and applying that to your keyboard’s frequency response that you measured with your mic but i hope that’s not the case, i’d like you to clarify
like i would like to know what you’re measuring because i’m curious too
and how
No, the material is not tested on the board
It's tested in a controlled environment using rew
Because the only goal was to figure out the expected impact to gain given a similarly flat surface of the same density for different materials
I took a flat planar driver with normalized variables sealed to a microphone with a control using 0 material connected between the 2 devices then variable measurements with materials of the same thickness and dimensions placed Infront then subtracted the variable tests from the control test to get an expected gain behavior
fair, can i see the setup
she just had a pregnancy break
💀
Kids are expensive
i was looking into this guy, do you guys know of any problems with it? https://www.amazon.com/samsung-oled-freesync-anti-glare-warranty-ls27dg602snxza/dp/B0D1DPFZLZ?th=1
chat any good ultralight wired mice
dont understand why ppl glaze wireless mice i lose those too easily
and i no longer trust youtube reviews
how tf do you lose a mouse
yes
budget?
just trust me
how do I even begin to decide on a mechanical keyboard there's so many options now
current board is a k70 with mx browns
I want a 75%
either silent or tactile switches
according to @bitter oar
I don't care about volume knob because I use a headphone amp so windows volume is always at 100%
but a hardware pause button is a bonus so a volume knob u can click in would be nice
max is 400 aud but would prefer less
don't care about hotswap switches or stuff like that
yeah i dont know shit about peripherals just wait for kvetinky
okie
How about silent AND tactile?1!?!!?!
I love tactile s
you'll probably just be running with whatever it comes with unless you really don't like the stock option
that's a good place to start usualyl
also my keyboard is like 7 years old so the switches are much smoother than a new mx brown keyboard
I'm guessing most stuff you get that's popular is smoother than cherry
yeah from what I can hear browns are apparently pretty scratchy
I'm happy with the switches honestly it's just something smaller and wireless I want
also I think my mouse is developing double clickitis
after 6 years
honestly it’s up to you, look up soundtests of the switches you’re looking at, i would just avoid getting the old unlubed switches from outemu, kailh, gateron and cherry because well, they’re outdated (unless you get them for a very cheap build) the newer switches are more polished and give you a ton of material options
i’m not focused currently on what’s the best for most people at ~250 usd or more, but i can tell you what to not get though, and if you totally don’t know what to look for, i’ll give an example: neo75 but it’s probably not the best for your money
i think at the price of neo75 you can get better but it’s better than let’s say what glorious and razer sell as for their customizable models
Kvetinky you have any suggestions for budget quiter 70%-80% keyboards?
how quiet?
Quiter than the Aula f75 and Ak820, cause I find them both too poppy. Something preferably creamy
let’s say like hi75 or lucky 75d + some silent switches or a monsgeek aluminum board
or something quieter?
I’d need to give them a listen before I can say if I need quieter
well, you build them quiet as you want (the barebones kits)
yes there are some limitations to those cheaper ones
https://youtu.be/YZKLgzK3AWE? for example ig

And with monsgeek kits they have pretty boring sound signature do i would call them borderline not silent
If that's what you're looking for
I don’t follow
So I'm looking for a mechanical keyboard, and I think I've roughly figured out what I want features-wise, although I'm not the most familiar with the market so I'll need help figuring that part out.
This keyboard would be for use at work in an office, so I want it to be reasonably quiet (probably leaning more towards a plastic case since from my understanding that will have less reverb than a metal one) and if there's RGB lighting I'd either turn it off or have it as just solid white. I might consider modding it in the future, but for my first mechanical keyboard I'm not confident enough to do that right now. Similarly I'd like it to be QMK/VIA compatible, but I'd probably want to get used to the keyboard first before looking into additional functionality.
As far as layout, I want a TKL and a separate numpad (since I'm planning for both of them at the same time, it probably makes more sense to look for them as a set), and I'm for the most part indifferent about volume knobs. Also I'd prefer it to be wired since I'm not likely to ever need to move it from my desk.
Given all my past keyboards were membranes, I'm thinking of primarily using tactile keys so I have some level of familiarity as I switch over. I'd probably use lighter press switches for the majority of the keys, with some slightly heavier ones on the side buttons.
No major preferences so far as to aesthetics, but that might change once I start looking into specific companies and their offerings more.
just get a realforce rc1 at that point 😂
I don't think you can get that under 200
buy a different topre board then
Considering what I had in mind was a budget of 120 Cad I don’t think that’s feasible
there's a k2 HE at Sam's club
it sounds pretty good
the slander that was said here earlier is bs
That’s a bit double my budget unfortunately. Unless I found the wrong one which I don’t think is the case
Oh sorry that was unrelated I didn't even read the channel
I was just flabbergasted to see this kind of thing at a membership store
Oh lol I thought you were responding
lol sams club sells keyboards now?
Apparently
That's the first time I've seen a peripheral, they had some keychron Mouse as well next to it
interesting
I recall costco selling a razer holiday bundle (keeb, mouse, deskpad, headset) one or two times, but never an individual keyboard
dare I say...based sams club
plus it was refreshing to actually be able to try the keyboard...
at best buy and Walmart the keyboards are al l covered up so you can't even touch it
hmmm
the keychron at Sam's club was just on display open and you could try it out
i can't say I paid enough attention to the keyboard displays at best buy to even remember if they're covered or not
lots of missing keycaps though
most are entirely covered last time I went, a couple had slots for wasd
Which doesn't help because I can't even put my fingers on home row
Disfigurment?
What
My local Walmart has some...a lot of keycaps are missing...but they're there
It's when the physical aspects of one's body are not "normal"
Therefore, something like a keyboard might be harder to use since it's designed for different shaped hands
I found a Samsung Galaxy Watch 5 Pro for 80 dollars...but it seems to have the same specs as my 4 Classic anyway...
I mean idk what that had to do with anything
The home row is covered so I can't put on it
no the entire keyboard except wasd
a plastic casing
have you never been to a big store recently
Oh! I know what you mean.
Mostly for food
The only thing they sold in walmart is glorious and akko keycaps which are shit
My local Walmart has Razer and Logitech mostly. But I know "some people" don't like Logitech...and then a lot more don't like Razer
Question lads, are there such things as wooden furnish for the interior of your PC?
Does wood exist?
Then yes, you may furnish things with wood
Just don't screw the grounding cable into the wood
and if you screw your motherboard into wood, make sure to use a grounding cable
Well yes I do wood working :v
I want the interior of my PC to look like a homestead from rdr2
then work the wood
wait...do you want like miniature chairs and tables made of wood?
I've never played r2d2
Just inagine the average homestead in the wildwest :v
I will need a big pc case As I will probably put some other things in that case
Get a deringer and mount it on one of the walls and see if anybody notices it's real
I plan for something bigger than that
Assuming you're over 14 or whatever your local laws are for owning one
Walther?
Starts with Colt ends with Action
The Colt Single Action Army (also known as the SAA, Model P, Peacemaker, or M1873) is a single-action revolver handgun. It was designed for the U.S. government service revolver trials of 1872 by Colt's Patent Firearms Manufacturing Company (today known as Colt's Manufacturing Company) and was adopted as the standard-issued revolver of the U.S. A...
Yes
That ends with "Army"
Eh close enough
lol
Potato potato
i knew what you meant
Unfortunately I cant fit a lever gat in a PC case
Just drill a hole in the case and let the barrel hang outside the case
Lul
And get a case with a side panel lock and call it a "Gun Safe"
Lul
Sticking the pistol gun safe ontop of my pc case
With a hole drilled through the case the and the gun safe
Now thats an idea
