That's normal for non-custom keyboards
Desolder it, haverst the switch
But you can just buy MX blues if you really want
I want it to remain a functional board
which ones? box? v2?
like you can literally just buy switches
35 switches per pack. The latest evolution of the iconic Cherry MX switch, the MX2A brings enhanced smoothness, refined acoustics, and improved consistency to an already legendary design. Featuring Cherry’s new precision-lubed stem rails, reengineered spring design, and an optimized housing for a smoother keystroke, th
im not desoldering and resoldering 104 keys
How tf does the URL say blue linear
i actually dont know, they came with the board, hold on
It will finction if u solder other switches in
Kailh Speed Bronze Switches
Is the keyboard with the kailhs that you want to replace hot-swappable?
yes
The Z15 RGB keyboard offers the ultimate in custom control, with
hot-swappable linear or clicky mechanical switches, ensuring the perfect
level of feedback for any user. Powered by a 32-bit Arm Cortex-M33 core
USB microprocessor, the Z15 offers the most advanced gaming keyboard

OK so you just need to find a good switch
lol, i got an alert for using a word correctly
i am kind of picky about my boards, they must have a keypad and they require a volume WHEEL, not buttons
Why you need 2 keyboard when u use one daily
i like having a backup
Cool, u shpuld buy 5
the click is the dropoff at 1.5 you see
i only need two
I have multiple back ups too
So that explains it
ok, no joke, the switches i have are way more sensitive than that
I wont call that picky imo, is consumer feature BS
Where is aliexpress boy pull out those charts
kailh le speed
anyways, so you’re not looking specifically for mx blues, just anything that’s not as sensitive
Linear switch
?
which neo is that
So do you think i would be OK with these?

65
probably but i think i would look at the more recent switches
i just hope they are compatible with the rgb in my board, as the RGB is underneath the switch, and these have a little hole for it to poke through
if you liked… the profile of mx blue maybe ttc brother or are thos not very available or pricey?
I don't think you'll be satisfied with their tactility
Brown switches are pretty weak
guys what does o rings exactly do underneath your keycaps
Yes, though. Anything with a clear top housing should be good for led
a keyboard crime
fr?
Its dampening so it makes it quieter I think
what mods can i do to my keyboard rn
what is it
i got k70 pro HE
Get some heavier springs if possible
corsair
Anything specific you want to change?
idk what are my options
Make it terrible
Various tape mods are a thing
ok so, on the bottom of this, thats where the RGB comes from, on all of these aftermarker switches, its solid, so it looks like the rgb wont work
U cant really do anything with a HE keyboard
Maybe foams
it does have 2 dampening layers
Thats ur assuming
It works
That hole is where the rgb comes from
Itll work
Get more
thats how normal switches are like
yes, thats whats in my board now, all the aftermarket ones i am looking at do not have that hole there, its solid
its rare for switches to hwve a transparent bottom like aqua kings
Brighter thab your future
Huh show what youve seen that doesnt have the hole
Rgb is boring
guys do i get more grip from pbt keycaps compared to abs
Get a set if gmk rainbow
Literally every Razer, Gateron and Cherry switch on Amazon
my fingers just slide off
do not have that hole
Pbt keycaps = less abs keycap
Is technically the same
That doesnt seem right
cherry yes if its not clear top
doubleshot pbt?
Gatreon ks3
but most gaterons are rgb compatible
Pbt bad…
cherry makes clear top switches for rgb compatibility if you want them
then what is good
Abs
jesus christ, the price hike to be able to use my rgb
why
i see everyone telling me pbt is better than abs
what are you looking at specifically right now
I think most people prefer PBT. But it's a preference mainly
More clear and consistent soubd in general
Hot take dude
Amazon, the only switches i can find that might allow my RGB are the Melodics
idk most of the keyboard people that I know use pbt keycaps
here i am enjoying myself with a set of Happy Balls
Imagine buying keyboard misc in amazon
Where are you based
U should make more friends
Who is more acknowledged in the keyboard hobby
Are you in US amazon or a different country, maybe its different market
yes people prefer more durable keycaps, pbt is usually more neutral in sound which also a lot of people like
They give out more solid perspective
US Amazon
You are yapping bullshit again
dude it is a preference
lots of people prefer abs and lots of people prefer pbt
You can try both
I know dozens of cherry og abs which are older than you
why not use both at the same time, mix and match PBT and ABS
there's no elitist take that abs is the superior taste preference
Bro
are we turning into fallacies again instead of giving me an actual counter-argument?
wha
what
make your spacebar a piece of solid aluminum
i know a better option
get reinforced steel aircraft grade keycaps
they press keys for u
also why does mainly pbt and abs exist in the keycap market
i can barely find any other material
even metal keycaps are hard to find
💀 based name

that's just an example not a recommendation from me
Elevate your standard mechanical keyboard to a full-metal gold keyboard masterpiece with Awekeys Full Metal Keycaps Set. Designed for regular Cherry switches, these keycaps feature a surface plated with real gold and silver, adding a luxurious touch to your typing experience. Upgrade to the epitome of style and durability.
There used to be pom
@worldly garden you realise abs is cheap to mold and produce, it’s also simple to give it vibrant color, that’s why it’s used in most keycap sets, that it has been used for decades does not mean it’s good for all instances
go to biooc he is gmk mold enthusiast
Im not
i cant find anywhere about that specific switch that tells me it allows my RGB to work
?
But really they wouldn't block that off
There's always gonna be the hole in the switch at the bottom
I've never seen a switch plug that up
hey, these will for sure https://www.amazon.com/Gateron-ks-9-Switches-Mechanical-Keyboards/dp/B09WSQCPRM?gQT=1&th=1
now im also aware these switches will be louder, i need quieter ones, will browns do nicely?
they won't feel at all the same
so i should buy some grommets?
nothing is gonna give you that sharp feeling I don't think without being clicky
what is that
or whatever you stick under the caps
But, there are punchy tactiles that exist
the rubber
o rings will do the exact opposite and make it just mush and awful from what I've heard
Every switch allows rgb to work
Just how light they are
the mission here is to get quieter switches that are tactile and actuate AFTER the click
Wannabe topre
Silent clickies lol
what are Gateron Pros
isn't it g pro
probably
Idk to be honest
what happens if a switch is 20 gf
breathing on it actuates it?
shit i sneezed and accidently wrote the communist manifesto
A line of switch
U will need 150gr spring swap
when i said that, i was joking
you are crazy
i think i am going to chance these browns
they "Seem" to be quieter than my current ones
Better try than never
Those wont have any clicks
I mean I know I wouldn't like it
60g is too heavy
but it says Tactile, and i think that's what i am looking for?
My daily is 63.5 lol
Perhaps. But I suspect if you're used to blue then brown won't be tactile enough for you
They're somewhat subtle
Therre are a lot of better tactiles than them
where do you find tehse lsit
these lists
I wish i could have this
we should make keycaps out of porcelain, the sound would be superb
you could consider TTC brother (clicky), or Gateron Baby Kangaroo (tactile)
as a launching point
Holy chickies
Gateron Beer's might be nice
They are
Pansy everglide is my fav budget tactile
do i feel more feedback on a razer green switch compared to a gx blue
what are chickies
Keyboard : TGR 910RE
Plate : Aluminium
Switches : Holy Chickies (Halo stem + Cherry Retooled Blue housing)
Lube : Krytox 204g00 (Sprit 62g slow curve spring + Switch Film)
Keycap : Epbt 2048
Stabliizers: Zeal Stabs w/ Krytox 205G0
Cable : Modcable101
Sound Dampening : none
Spinning : Vorso Spin
Switch tester : KACHA Reboot Anytime
Microphone :...
Both of you beed a typewriter
wdym
what i want are these, but i cant pay for that shit, its too high end for my wallet
no
They sound
fuck angry miao
ok, so they are good
What do you like about these, you could maybe find something similar
the sound
they were featured on the channel once and i like fell in love with it
They sound pretty normal
Let me try some more videos
it sounds like a thocky version of my outemu pears
idk all I can find about it is YouTube slop-tubers
I think mainly you could just build a keyboard that sounds like this instead of buying switches and getting 80% there
Check out the Corsair 3500X at: https://lmg.gg/3500X
Angry Miao makes some wacky mechanical keyboards- some of which I have really loved. But they can come at a hefty price tag, so let's unbox the Neon 80 and see if the value is there.
Check out the Angry Miao AM NEON 80 Keyboard: https://lmg.gg/4xiBw
Purchases made through some store link...
I wonder if you'd like gateron oil kings
It reminds me of that general area of sound profile
i'm getting gaterons anyway, just depends on what i can find that comes in a 100 pack
is literally oil king
oh what
overlube god
I thought they were sending that as an example of the angry miao
or wait are you just agreeing it sounds like it
looks like but not for 850$
ok, i didnt mention wanting the keyboard
i just mentioned i liked the sound of the switches
i hate these switches so much
500 msrp
but imported here is 800+
you'll like the gateron oil kings
in terms of sound
they're linear
i think im going to cheap out and just get the gateron blues, i would like quieter switches but all examples of the other ones i heard sounded like they were broken, lol
I have another option for you
Is called alps white
if they arent on amazon im not interested
gateron melodic? If you wanna try something unique instead of just a cherry blue 'clone'
I have them and they feel a lot more refined
if i could just go on amazon and find a 104pack of MX Blues for the same or near the same price as these gaterons i would buy the cherries
a 120 pack of Gateron Blues are only $30
why only amazon though
becuase i dont like dealing with different tranaction methods on websites or giving my card info out to just any website
Melodics are $80 for an entire kit for my board, or i can spend $30 on blues
i'm not going to put $80 worth of switches into a board i paid $20 for
Lol u will only find shit on amazon
Ok get it
someone uploaded a video showing how early the kailhs i have actuate
i'm not insane, these are just built like that
Upper one: Gazeron Blue: Clicky 55g
Lower one: Kailh Bronze Speed Clicky 42g
The Kaihl is a fake clicky switch. It's actually a tactile switch with an added tiny spring which makes the click sound. As shown in the video, the Gateron clicks when it registers the keypress while the Kaihl first registers the keypress and much later it produces a c...
bottom are my switches
look how early that thing actuates (Lights up the arrow)
How is this make sense ??
exactly my point
ive been using these for a year and it only JUST occured to me that they actuate way before they should
Break in it and ss
these Kailh's are going in the fucking garbage
U never made good use of it tho
yep, that works, thanks for your help
this is what i decided on
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B09WSG93Z3
what do you mean good use
"Build", i bought a board, hated the legend, bought some Happy Balls, and now im replacing the keyswitches because they are garbo
i'm never going to get over that brand name
Happy Balls
Loook up mmd nipple switch
that sounds like they would have bumps on them to help you find what key your on
Pre Lubed Nipple Switch
if you buy from milktootth its a good price and they support paypal
maybe if i actually build a decent board
i'll get to cleaning mine when i install the new switches
what about ttc brother
I assume no because its not on amazon
oh amazon?
They were adamant on amazon
i'm never buying anything with Kailh products again
why
those are different non speed version
my mouse has kail switches in it and they suck, my controller has kailh switches in it, after a few months the A button feels weird
that also may be the manufacturer’s poor implementation of those switches in the mice
yes, there are kailh switches that people don’t like but they also have some solid ones
More overpriced dinks? Cmon
tuf m3, one of my favorite budget mices long time ago used all kailh switches (unsure if the scroll wheel is probs not) and i still like it today
Some kalih bcp is very good
i have one fatal flaw with my mouse. they put the Precision DPI button in a spot that no human can actually press
like, i can press it, but i lose all grip on the mouse making it pointless
yeah could be really just the manufacturer doing a whopsie, you can totally ruin top of the line switches if you screw up the shell and mechanism design
i got it on sale for $10, figured id try it, wore the shit out of my G502 Hero
thing has fuckin' headlights
its hilarious
i was looking for a better switch that has very similar actuation to mx blue
U actively use dpi button when playing?
you can setup the button as a diffrent function than dpi
well, i planned to rebind it, but it's position makes it very hard to press without losing all grip on the mouse
same with my tuf m3, dirt cheap, couldn’t complain much other than some minor grind, pretravel on my second unit, it was the right button i believe it was the shell that had the defect
the cable was ew tho
otherwise pretty fine for like 2021 mice at $12
well, i got the keyboard first, and i was like, i may as well get a matching mouse so i can control them both with the same software
both have braided cables
via users:
har har
yeah i generally try to avoid into getting into ecosystems especially when i don’t see any benefits doing so
being able to turn off all rgb with one program is nice
ease of use or accesibility sure that is quite valid
but if it’s way too expensive for what it offrers
e
i paid $25 for the board and $10 for the mouse, both of which on sale
no bad yeah
msrp of those boards were like $80
well, then $60
Qmk users
U paid the right price
idk, they replaced my G710 and my G502 Hero
Other 55 was for the brands
most of the mechanical / optical from gaming brands were priced at like $80 in ~ 2021’ish
not top of the line
overpriced all.
this mouse has an invisible sensor like logitech, i could have sworn logitech patented that so nobody else could use it
infrared?
I would rather deathadders over any logitech
they can’t patent technology for infrared sensors
that’s like me patenting the tap water in your house
at most the design of the sensor and how light gets diffused
i will say i miss my old scroll wheel
shape
there's like 2 keyboards in the world that actually release qmk source its over
Although I just learned qwertykeys actually does so my next keyboard will be a neo60 or neo80
Just make one yourself
Idk mich about ieyboard software but most homebrew keyboard had their own qmk code thing
yeah but that's stupid
all you really need for a keyboard is three keys, N, Y, Return
I need ESC to exit vim
shut, ur right
four keys
imagine where we'd be if we still kept the arrow keys in one row
They stil do it
Apple made goood alps
Buckle Spring Keyswitches?
you guys play on arrow keys?..
Wasd when
most games
Arrow keys are pretty useless to me
minecraft
Bump
I love arrow keys
alright man
Does anyone know where I can get a peripheral like this one?
Chat I need a new keybaord
Preferably one that’s 80(?) percent
One without a nun key pad unless there the only ones that looks cool
Budget is 1-200
USD
Microcenters and Amazon are available
I’d likely something nice to click one, quiet, but creamy and something low profile but fitting in a mostly black setup
Thanks chat 🙏
Are you interested in customizability in the future at all or do you just want to buy something and be done
I can think of several for both
I’d be interested ish but it has to be good out of the box
Can’t be something I have to sink another 300 dollars into just to be decent yk what I mean
Like I dunno if I’d foam mod it
Or do anything crazy like replacing the shell to like aluminum for slightly better sound
But maybe just switch replacement and key cap replacement
yeah thats fair
And performance is important especially at this range, but tbh looks more so
I’m not a comp gamer
Just need it to be good enough to not be a full second behind the other players
you could look at the neo80 or evo80, the neo doesn't come with switches or keycaps but otherwise is good out of the box
(Basically if u give me a razor product im slapping you/j)
What
Is it just a . Pcb
its everything minus the switches and keycaps, so case + plate + foam + pcb
its easy because switches just snap in, although itll be like probably $30-50 for the switches; it might not fit under $200 with everything
Is that at least reassembled
yeah all you have to do is just snap in switches and put on keycaps
If you've installed or removed keycaps before, switches are that same level of complexity
Do I have to lube them
I could
But I’m lazy
Lubing would def be a no no for me
If that depends on the switches I buy
Is there more variety than 2-3 years ago?
I rmember it was only like 2 brands
Back then
Unless I went high high end
Most switches these days you don't, they're fine out of factory
and there's tons of brands and different switches now
Niceee
I remember it was all like red and blue shits
Back then, pretty sure they were all the same company
Is this like a good keyboard or still mid ranged btw
That was when I was on my Razer arc
Idk what the keyboard ladder is bout
technically this is mid range in the world of custom keyboards but its great in the context of everything
Mid ranged at 200+
Never can please the enthusiasts huh?
With their blocks of aluminum
But yea I’m far from a clicky master so idc that much
Might just buy an anime shell tbh
For the memes
oh I remember huano sakura is supposed to be a good creamy linear switch
Sounds lovely
Ok I gotta go for 23 minutes
I’m taking an ap test
Brb
Thanks for the help
I’m losing time
How much am I spending if I want a screen

Maybe a wheel on it for the volume too
that’s fine
Idk about keyboards with screens because I've never looked for them
I said I didn’t want a 60
I wanted an 80 or 75
Just no num pad
To fat and unneeded
I think most of the high end ones don't have screens so you would probably spend less
Trying out the Attack Shark R6 when it gets here tomorrow
Might be falling into the mouse rabbit hole
Wait
The neo is stainless steel
That’s hot
I wish it was actually sold though
Janky sellers
I’m still using a g502
Is that bad
Should I re allocate some of my money into a glorious model o
Awwww
idk of any stainless steel keyboards
too chonky for my preference
I play a lot of fps games so a light mouse is nice
I think I remember of a cnc aluminum block that a pcb got placed in
They called it a keyboard
yeah but that would be aluminum
what
Glorious model 0 still good or no?
i am confusedf
It sounds like it’d feel nice
I kinda want metal key caps
Am I going broke or is that doable
:boted:
Idk tbh. Never used a glorious mouse. Apparently the Attack Shark R6 is supposed to be like the best bang for buck mouse.
$60, great sensor, 39g, etc
Hmmm
I don’t understand the hype around light mice
Never used one though so 🤷
Maybe I can snatch my friends model d+
mouse so light it wont even press a keyboard switch
My mice have progressively gotten lighter over time
im still using a g502 proteus spectrum. 121g
I went G305 -> Superlight -> Viper V2 Pro -> maybe this R6 if I like it
soon my mouse will be a decade old
Regardless I cannot use a wired mouse anymore. The wire changes the weight balance and makes it feel weird to me now
i just have my wire set up so about 2 ft is kept on the table in a sort of zigzag pattern
Fight*
it removes any weight of the cable
I charge my mice maybe once a month
Id buy a mouse riser thingy
If I cared enough
A uh bungie
Mous boungies
My friend had one
Wonder what they did w it
They have a 4090
Idk why
They dumb
Is there a modern version of the g502
G502 is a dinosaur nowadays
Mice have improved so much in the last decade but the G502 holdouts just refuse for some reason lol
No need for a purposely heavy mouse
Are you joking
nah
There’s no more heavy mouse
What if I slam it
I’m not tryna throw away 200 dollars
Grow up and stop slamming shit? idk.
I will never understand it
It’s like forcing yourself to drive a 1988 Honda
That Honda could be worth a lot
If properly taken care of and a nice enough model
You’re looking into it too hard lol
perhaps they feel nice
I want to mod my wooting but like
I also don’t wanna spend that much on what’s truly just aesthetics
Fair
zowie
why not
aesthetics gets you 2% more fps
should I get a trackball
Which one should I start from, Apex 4 BMW or Cyclone 2
I belive some people are called “financially responsible “
Impossible

Nope that means u arent having fun
Would anyone recommend Controllers competing in the range of 8bitdo Ultimate 2 wireless and Gamesir Supernova
Right now I'm only confused b/w these (ik about cyclone 2) but would like to know any other better alternatives I might have in this range, not from the US but consider my max budget to be the price of Ultimate 2
Actually I just remembered I used 60g akko penguins for a few weeks and they were fine
Its probably because 65g tactile force on lichicx raw
No way this is any good right lmao https://a.co/d/heV8njr
It works
Budget wised i will consider gh60 itself
I’m really just looking for the most cost effective way to mod a 60He
It is disrepair
U can barely make it sound better
Not budget friendly
Etc
oh then I won’t bother then lmao
All I’ve done is tape mod it
I put like 5 layers of tape on the back of the PCB
U can buy a mechanical with the same budget u intended to mod urr wooting
and it sounds decent
what?
Real rgb
shits noticeably better for gaming but lol
Probably if u play those rythmn games
I play shooters that rely on movement
Yeah I mean it’s not like an insta do better type thing
The way I described it to my friend is it felt like going from 60 to 144hz but in a keyboard lol
When you are lets say already good you will feel a bit of difference
Anyway if you still want to mod ur wooting i recommend get those some new switches
Gatreon jade pro
I need an HE keyboard
Yeah
Idk how to explain it other than it just feels more responsive
There’s no like dead zone in the switch, as soon as you let go the key is off
It’s extremely noticeable in games where you can change your momentum instantly, like Overwatch
Boot up that game and spam A and D and its nuts lol
isn't that snap tap thing banned
only in CS
on offical CS servers
Faceit doesn't care
But I dont even use snap tap I use what wooting calls Rappy Snappy (lmao)
it's similar but less macro-y
is it normal that each key on my keyboard sounds a bit too different
like its not slightly
its noticable
Is snap tap
Yes
What keyboard do you have
Nah it's different
wooting has snap tap and rappy snappy
its not but yeah
who comes up with these names
why though
arent my middle keys supposed to sound almost the same since they are almost in the same place
why can't they just implement rappy snappy on mechanical
I don't see how it would really be fundamentally limited to he
Gmmk pro
maybe it wouldn't be as effective but still the cheat is there
Different position
Is just that
almost the same but of course not identical
Is less likely noticeable in high end keyboard because the kit itself made the sound less inconsistent
its official
inky 75 is super based
only complaint I have at all is the plate doesnt hold switches in well
besides that
actually an insane board
making bad buys again ?
nah, legit the best value board ive ever tried and best stock board i have ever tried
buy an evo80 and u will change ur mind on "best prebuilt"
i think he means it respectable to a certain budget, not as actually best
since when budget is mentioned here
i think he means both
I understand there are definitely better built prebuilts
But the sound is actually near perfect
And the quality for the price is something that still has me in disbelief
Like the stabs are perfect stock
The stock caps are actually pretty decent
The stock hmx switches are actually perfect for the board
how long have you used it
It doesn't sound muted and over damped like most boards with foam do
in my experience stabs are perfect for the first week or two then start to become a little worse
same with switches
It has some oomph to the sound
Like it doesn't sound hollow
It has an aggressive typing angle that was seemingly made by just using a ton of aluminum
Which I love
all foamboard sounds the same
Like it's literally over 2kg
They don't
take all the foams out and lmk what you think
There is a tendency for foam to make boards sound more dull and muted
But this board completely subverts that
what are those keycaps
My rainy 75 kinda sounds like how you described as well
Unlike most boards with foam I have no desire to because sound is almost perfect
They are signature plastics sa-p flex die sub pbt caps
you know, to determine a good keyboard is should sounds good without any assitnce
Great, ill make sure to never buy them
The mismatched caps are the part of the set still shipping
ffoams for example
That's a really stupid mentality
What matters is how it is when you use it
Not some arbitrary meaningless goal
You wouldn't say a car with 500hp has less horsepower than a car with 300 because it used a turbo
Even if you don't want to use a turbo for some reason
It's just a stupid mindset and wrong statement
Same applies here
Some would say a 300hp gr corolla is worse than a 300hp NA V6 because the NA requires no assistance
APPLE IS HERE
Literally the only thing I think I'd change about the inky is the plate not holding the switches well and I'd replace the screws with ball catch
Besides that honestly the board is pretty close to perfect physically
ball catch is shit
Doesn't ball catch eventually develop ping
No
just stick to screws
yes you are right
i have never see you with any good keyboard yet biooc
I mainly use a modified neo75
I need a neo60 core or a neo80
Tariffs are gonna make that hard
I will wait
im happy to take it out of your hands
for 5 quid each
Now I don't regret it as much
and a bag of chips. jhalf eaten
Thought inky 75 would be like a slightly better hi75
I could emulate hhkb layout with the neo60 core
Just really good value but not something to stand up in the high end
But like legitimately this thing is objectively good
neo60 only have wk iirc
only neo60u has hhkb
Meant neo 60 cu
get a taco75
or tgr tomo
I don't care as much for neo 60 core
u will want to throw all of your keyboard right now away
yeah but so does hhkb
I could just remove the left control if that was critical
Oh you're right there's an hhkv option on the cu
That's new
Taco 75 isn't a good sounding board imo
I like a really high gain but low pitch and non hollow sound to boards
taco75 is hollow ?
LOL
From the test I've heard it sounds hollow
soundtest are lies
Not like keychron q series hollow
in reality I should just buy an hhkb instead of emulating it with like $180 fully built
Do you own a taco 75
It wouldn't make me go crazy over it unless all I owned was a q2
Actually, I won't call it hollow sounding
It's kinda like something between
i dont
Doesn't sound hollow or full
lmfaoo
Just map a key to that
What's crazy to me is inky75 without a weight weighs as much as neo 80
It really has no business being $69
And not cutting corners on material used even
Copper weight inky with a copper plate would out weigh this
Do u still use that copper weight pcb
U have to use that so ur keyboard has some resonance
Lol
When will you buy cerakey too
The hyperboring copper plate actually sounds similarly deep to pom
But with a lot more gain
Sounds more controlled too
Sounds wised neo75 isn’t competitive with pt1.75
has anyone weighed various keycaps and also cerakey to compare how it affects the weight of the switch
I'd argue other than the extra oomph it gives the sound though PC plate sounds better, but overall i prefer the copper plate
It is recommend to use 55+ springs seitch when u use cerakey
I'd agree, but the sound issues are pretty much fixed by weighting the PCB
Yeah but I wonder about the exact measurements
I'd argue my neo 75 is still my 2nd to best sounding board and by far my best rounded board with the mods I did
But stock sound and typing experience I'd literally argue the hi75 outdoes it
U are the only person who did that
But it still beats q2 in both regards
Yep
Alright, foamboard guy
I don't use any boards with foam except the keychrons I don't care enough about to remove it from and the inky now
And the thin stock foam sheet on the neo I guess
But it kinda needs it
They left too much space between the PCB and the case
I would fix that by using resin to mount a weight like I did with the lucky
But I really like the design of the bottom case of the neo
That's why I wanted 60 cu
It's much better designed acoustically
But tariffs
I'm not gonna pay $200 in tax on it
Gotta trade the ovd weight to gold se weight
Tbh, I don't get the assumption I like foam boards
Given I've gone further than anyone in the hobby has to make boards sound good without foam
foam is blasphemy so if you ever say you like it you are exiled
Literally going as far as making and mounting weights to cut distances between bottom cases and the PCB and using liquid electric tape for case dampening
5/6 of keyboard u have is foamboard wdym
It has its uses
How does that even make sense?
Literally 3.5 boards I have owned while in the hobby have foam in them and 7.5 dont
With the .5 being the neo which has kinda been going between both states depending on the state of sound it happens to be in at the time
Mode keyboards might fit you
What is the general concensus on the Logitech g915 wireless keyboard?
i know what diamond_lee is gonna say
My local Walmart had them marked down from 220 usd to 90 so I grabbed one because my current keyboard's switches are starting to die
$220???
Yeah that's nuts isn't it
Yeah
highway robbery
idk what to say other than it seems like a gaming keyboard and i bet it feels and sounds like one
It's definitely an upgrade over my old one
It's the one with the gl clicky switches which is 150 on Logitechs website, I guess 90 dollars isn't that bad of a price
(they won't)
Complain about what? I'm coming from a 25 dollar mechanical keyboard
🤷
You will see
Okay then...
g915 is famous for booty but keycaps wearing down and needing to order aliexpress replacements
its cheap rn cuz the g915x dropped
its gonna sound like a gaming keyboard for sure too
Isn't the x the TKL?
Also I don't mind key caps, I'll probably end up replacing them anyway I'm not a huge fan of the low profile caps but we'll see how it goes for a bit first
no
the x is the new version
there is a 915x wired, 915x tkl, and a 915x lightspeed
its a new generation
theres a 915, and 915tkl, 815 is wired
Logitech is trash
Expect them to last until u can have another keyboard
99 can get u a rainy or bridge
I don't even know what that is
I think I'll be just fine with it
Logitech will last forevrr its just not particularly great
Not g serires
Certainly you will, but after they are worn out you will be pissed about their quality
Membrane logitech made to last forecer lol
i mean my g512 carbon i user prior to upgrading lasted over 4 years and numerable spills
is mechanical
Guys anyone know a decent mic?
I thought about buying Audio-Technica AT2020USB-XP
built like shit
no i mean why did you even get a logitech board
no my membrane logitechs didn't last as long
User fault
no room on the desk for an interface?
wdym?
not even sure what an interface is in this context
You mean like a stand or what?
what is an audio interface? the small boxes you mean?
they can be small
Mmm I mean technically yes because I have bought 2 mounts for my monitors so monitor 2 and 3 won't have a stand anymore
literally only for gaming like twice a month
but sometimes also discord vc
What's your budget?
no budget really but just keep in mind the amount that I will use it so i don't need fancy stuff
my main requirement is for my voice to be clear
I would be more specific and give a budget but I honestly have no idea what normal pricesl ook like for decent mics
i've never had a mic in my life
I got my roomate an atr2100x-usb and it works fine for discord
I was kind of hoping for something that looks more like this
aesthetics matter, should've mentioned
ah
preferably as black as possible
if aethetics are your main thing, I'd just stick with that and stick with one of the companies that primarily focuses on audio
audio technica should be fine
fifines are cheap but don't necessarily sound cheap. They get the job done sort of deal
If you have a music store that sells used gear near you, might be worth a peek to see if they have any used mics, or maybe even used interface+mic bundles
I need to work on my keychron q6 this weekend
Going to try adding o-rings to see if it's noticeably quieter
Also going to change switches form akko lavender tactile to gateron blacks
what like keycap orings??
Yes
I have some sitting around
If they feel like shit I can just remove them
But uhhhhh yeah if I can't make this quieter I'll probably switch back to my K65+
U making it shitter man
Type feeling will be ruined
i encourage anyone to try stuff just to get the experience
It's not like it's permanent kek
so now i need to buy o-rings
Just apply oring and lmk what you thonk
Hello guys what keyboard is better in sound and gaming ajazz ak820 pro or aula 75? Sorry but I couldn't find any other channel for support
Between those two, ajazz
Thanks for help
I bought a switch lubing kit that came with some
I also think I have some keycap sets that came with some
I am trying to avoid buying more switches by trying what I have at home first
That thing is prelubed
I have purchased a lubing kit in the past
Unrelated to my past purchases, I am looking at silent switches as a potential upgrade
I was stating through other purchases I already own o-rings so no reason not to try them
It's not costing me anything and they're quite easy to remove if I dislike them
Also I open and lube pre-lubed switches; it's just better
Outemu silent peach
Or boba u4t silent
hmm you are suppose to clean the prelube
but ok
Idk if I did I perfectly but I probably got enough out
if u are happy with it then you did good
TTC Silent Bluish White
or for linears, the ttc frozen
Maybe maybe
Buying new switches is last priority
I am willing to try all the "free since I already have the supplies" options first
Do you actually need silent switches or just something more subdued
Buying a new keyboard is the last resort :p
silents
I love silent dwitches
way too overrated
im testing out a cherry mx blue
and they sound horrible
feedback is also not that good
they do
the only clicky switch I like currently is the gateron melodic, i would like to try the kailh box white though
no
for cherries u suppose to put "some" work for them
to sound good
aka copium
if u use a stock mx1a u are a psychopath
we love copium
I have some box jades and they're delightful
I might be shot if I bring that into the office
I am attempting to do the latter first
If I need silent switches at some point then I will do a bit of research
