any real product examples?
kyticky
i mean there are few reasons why oleds use glossy mainly being that matte has that uneven texture image
not really an answer
matte is better in lower cost applications where the manufacturer wants to save money
image quality is an answer
i was asking about the glossy panel that handles reflections well
maybe S24 Ultra has one
most recent oled monitors
you have one?
i’ve had currently no
so there's a chance those glossy panels will be in more portable devices
uhh, phones, tablets?
how lit is your room?
i mean there are matte oleds
its a mirror almost anywhere with light
what’s your phone model
on phones? show me
not on phones but monitors
Redmi note 11, i know its cheap but seen phones 5x the price with same issue
well yeah
i’ve personally not had issues with phones that can do higher brightnesses in sun exposed enviroments
this phone is bright but i can still see myself, brigthness doesnt help much with reflections
i mean i can live with it, just that it would be nice
i mean your phone has about 500 nits of sustained brightness (larger window) which is not good for modern phones
peak is ~ 750
literally every phone on shortcircuit except the S24 ultra with oled is a mirror
or i dont remember any
alright, so what are you looking for
isnt that clear already
no
glossy oled phone that isnt a mirror?
sorry i don’t know of a glossy oled phone that’s relevant
its fine
I'm in a classroom right now and I have to specifically orient my phone not to reflect one of the fluorescent lights or else the entire screen turns white
So that's a thing too
classic
If not impossible to see it is at least very difficult
Are IROC Boards any good
skill issue
gaming
where do people get those mousepads with stuff on it
Hey. I'm looking for a new keyboard to use for work. I mainly do programming and other software stuff and also do a lot of report writing. I was therefore looking for a decent keyboard for this. In the past I have some nice experience using a Keychron Q1 with Kailh Box Whites and is today by far my fave keyboard, but also my only "custom" keyboard comming from your gaming ones. I'm also Norwegian which means that I'm used to a Nordic layout. That means ISO and buttons for ÆØÅ. Recently I saw this from iqunix going here; https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/iqunixmq80keyboard/iqunix-mq80-3-mode-mechanical-aluminum-keyboard
I did kind of want to get this one as it looked awesome, but I also sort of hesitated because of the ANSI layout which also means that I have one less key on the middle row. I'm then either gonna be missing ' or Æ which I'm not sure how I was gonna deal with. Perhaps you here has some recommendations to keyboards?
Mainly what I'm looking for is decent build quality, needs to have hotswappable keyswitches, F-row, I do like tactile/clicky and if it has a numpad, I really like the numpad on the leftside instead of the rightside.
Irok, ones are okay, not that reliable in my opinion though. bought a couple an all of them had some soldering/ board issue I couldn't fix. sounded wonderful though
U know any good ones that are cheap like that ?
yeah I have had better luck with Epomaker boards. I use a Hexgears board rn that I got for 20 bucks its the I2 from hexgears, it was on amazon but it is not available anymore but they have nice 75% and tkl boards
I am used to 100% so thinking like 85 to 95 or 98%
the epomaker P87 is nice its an 87% board with a knob as well full black if thats important with hotswappable switches
what is your price range?
a less quality more budget option would be the F87 by aula which has a decent track record imo
thats 49$ on amazon rn
if you are in the US
qk101
This webcam any good
Payed 50 cents for it at rummage sale
yeah its decent how much is the price?
ah nvm
you could get a better or decent one on amazon brand new for that price
"Payed 50 cents for it at rummage sale"

cool I mean if you get that for that price its a no brainer fs
I love getting tech for lower than the msrp :>
thinking on getting a oled 1440p monitor good or bad idea
i hear the text clarity isnt all that great but i mean it would be sick as a gaming primary display
Are there any good full sized keyboards? I will be fine with 96% if there aren't any since page down and page up aren't a dealbreaker
Realforce
keychron has a lot of options, but if 96% is ok there's also plenty of other choices too, depends on what the usage is and your preferences
So what about the k5 pro
Looking for linear either creamy or thocky sound full size(or 96%)
hoe many games
ngl keychron has great keyboards for starters but to get them to have the really thocky and creamy sound you want you will have to replace the switches
It would be easier to go for a fullsized epomaker
like the Galazy100
the aula99
TH99
aula one is my favorite
has a knob as a bonus
galaxy100 sounds the best
This looks nice👍
I already know this is gonna be expensive
130
$270 💀
$220 used on ebay
oh no that's type s nevermind
used keyboard for $130 is a scam
give me a break i got to it eventually
🧌
i said $270 because that's the ridiculous 3rd party seller extortion price on amazon
i stand by it
or
https://www.bestbuy.com/site/asus-rog-strix-27-oled-qhd-240hz-g-sync-freesync-gaming-monitor-with-hdr-hdmi-displayport-black/6588550.p?skuId=6588550
Which should i get?
are those even keys that have multiple profile versions
what if the board is just flexible
no, he just didn’t push the keycaps all the way in or the keycaps have defect
Signature plastics sa-p flex
3 is fine. The other needed to be pushed in a little
should i get the steelseries apex 3 tkl
and does anybody know where to get those custom long mousepads
im not gonna lie i dont remember
i ask a lot of things everywhere
im just tryna get one thats sounds good and looks good like 60%
thats sa sp ?
Yep
since when you actually buy good keyboard stuff
gmk next ?
which basilisk mouse is better, rgular v3 or ultimate
Nah
They sound super clacky and are about as thick as the Chinese abs caps
Plus they use recycled abs
Maybe if I find a really good price
But to me it's just $15 caps with vibrant dies
under 8- could get you something
Tbh, I wouldn't buy any gmk sets at $80
Gmk to me is kinda like the Gucci of keycaps
They match the physical qualities of the cheap Chinese stuff and sometimes fall behind their knockoffs but you sometimes get a cool recognizable design
But the reality is a lot of that cost is just for that premium brand name
Which isn't what I usually am looking for
ummm
wwell iss not really for the name
they arr really good
They have good dies, but it's just recycled abs cherry profile caps with a pretty normal thickness
u can see their print quality and caps consistency, compare them to chinese cmk's
Tbh, never had an issue with prints on most cheap caps
Some don't sand the injection points tbf, but that takes like no time and isn't visible cause it's under the cap
Even the signature plastics set I had a hard time justifying given it is just pbt plastic for that price, but it's a unique profile in a color option I liked with a thicker body than almost any other caps I know of
Which made it a little justifiable
But even then
I'd rather not spend $100 on caps again unless they offer me something unique
since when sa sp is pbt ?
The flex kit is die sub pbt @worldly garden
2mm thick
Imo the color options arent perfect though
Gonna get a purple set too eventually though to mix and match with and try and get it looking good
what drop keyboard should i get
why only drop
cause i really like my ctrl
i want a ctrl but theres ton of new switch choices that ive never heard of lol
Hey, I want a new mouse and I picked these two:
Razer Viper V3 HyperSpeed - 65€ (1 AA baterry, Focus Pro 30K Optical Sensor, 82g)
Dark Project Novus Wireless Mouse - 55€ (rechargable 500 mAh battery - lasts 70 hours , Pixart PAW 3395 sensor, 51g)
Does someone have any experience with one of them? And are mices with rechargable batteries good?
ok so Im on FB marketplace and i come across a set of blackshark v2 pros, i ask for the reason for selling and they said "that's what i do" i ask if its product testing but they just responded "doesn't matter, if you need it let me know". Should i purchase or stay away because this does sould a lil bit sketch
check it out in person
should i buy wireless or wired headsets
depends, personally i like wired more
where do u rout your headphone cables
i just dont want my headphones to be in the way
So do you guys know how to extend this. It’s the clamp I was using for my PC mount which was originally housing my EGPU but now was supposed to house my new PC case but it’s like 20mm too long now
Drop is pretty bad for getting actual value tbh
If you want a mouse around that price and size get an attack shark r2 tbh. It'd just be better.
Although
Tariffs may have shot up its price
its 80€+
Wired
Should probably get proper headphones instead of a headset too tbh
And a dedicated mic
ok, so i was playing minecraft and i crashed, i hoppod on roblox but thern my razer keyboard lighting stop working after a crash
about the matte vs glossy stuff earlier
for the first time in my life i have found a time where i could use a glossy display
i have just added an led strip that's right above my desk, and it sorta is illuminating my entire matte 2nd monitor
but i think the bigger solution is i need to somehow stop it from shining in the direction of my monitor
so you guys win that one point
i still stand by glossy being worthless in an actually well lit room with laptop
So today i was looking through keychron website and found the lemokey p1.
I really liked the spec and think its a nice keyboard but dont really know.
What do you guys think?
i think is a good board
dont overpay
Its like 142 usd where i live excluding the shipping
Plus i got some gateron milky-yellow v2 laying around somewhere that inprobably think ill swap to
Is it 3 pin switch compatible?
yes
if u have something with over 5 pins thats the only time u should be concerned
😂
Well i have never actually built a keyboard on my own so i dont know alot🥲
just like a lego
modding is a whole another story
maybe u can try to find the bridge75
a bit cheaepr iirc
Well im planning on lubing the switches🙃
gat milk yellow is prelubed
Like good or "just" lubed
Is phillips 24e1n1100a enough for a really 'budget' pc
As some advice, I personally recommend looking into the bridge 75 instead
P1 is pretty hollow and thin sounding relative to what most people aim for
Also, imo the finish and plating are pretty sub par
You could also probably get a neo 80 for a little more
More advice from my experience, milky yellows don't go well with soft gasket boards at all. They go best with tray mounts oddly enough.
They feel like you bottom out into foam or cotton when you use them on a gasket mount board
I wonder what causes that
They're really overlubed
I had akko penguins (silent) which also were like that but assumed it was because they're already squishy
Ah
So ive looked into akko and found the monsgeek m1w v3 sp.
What do you guys think of it?
its also at an 25% discount
howdy. should i cave to mental pressure and try baby kangaroos
- idk
- yes
rn ik i dont like linears (low profile ones are fine) and uh ive only ever really used browns other than that
😭
realforce is better
huh
could be worth a try, most browns are practically linears imo
mayhaps i will try
i do kind of agree that browns tend to be quite not that bumpy but the small break in the press i really like
very noticable difference vs linears to me
it means get a realforce
anyone can help me with keyboards? mine is kinda fu-ked , after 5 years my blackwidow elite is quite broken, like 3/4 keys arent working, and specificly rn dont have alot of money to buy a new normal one, anyone have suggestions for what to do?
the baby kangaroo will be a huge contrast then
it has more of an actual "bump" instead of just a pause/scratch in the middle of the travel light brown switches
they sound like another cloneslop switch. buy mx clears
Clone switches 😭
I think signature plastics sent me bdo instead of Bct
Is va2209-h-2 good
Are Magnetic Hall switches any good or should I just stick with the trusty old machanical switches?
considering getting a new display. I don't like curved panels, and am not a fan of ultrawide. I've really gotten used to having a big 32 inch display. Mainly looking at qd-oled because I became jealous after trying my friends qd-oled for the response times. I've seen some have a 4k 240hz 1080p 480hz switching which is cool, but not a must. Anyone have any reconmendations within my niche criteria? lol
thanks in advance
I also saw WOLED while searching and don't really get the difference
only if you game alot tbh. mechanicals are just fine as long as you used wired
Anyone got any decent 1440p monitors? Looking for something not too expensive. I looked at a msi mag monitor but people said it's plastic stand is wobbly and not stable, just wondering if that should be a concern as other than that it has good specs
I’ve had my Anne pro 2 for like 5 years.. any recommendations for upgrades around 100 usd
latest qd oled panels outshine woleds in typical scenarios even at brightness
woled is brighter in smaller windows
qd oled is brighter in anything larger than that
i built another keyboard
bridge75
anyone know any good small scerens? under 10"
10 inches
they dont look realible at all or good
4k 280hz for 30 bucks?
too good to be true
yeah but smallest portable screen is like 14 or smth
found an old android pad i can use
yeah or just buy an ipad
yeah
i spent ages opening up my whole keyboard just to not be able to fit some stabilizers i bought in the damn holes
Any mice nerds here
Wondering if I should get the model O or if there’s a better company out there
😂😂😂
Scary stuff
What would be the best 34" 3440x1440 OLED monitor?
Anyone know where we are at in the world in terms of Wireless Webcams? A webcam that we easily can reposition so we can perhaps sit away from computer with our wireless headsets and still be able to see and hear each other?
well, i know people already use phones as webcams
idk if anyone would make a specifically webcam device that's wireless because you probably wouldn't be moving your webcam out of range of the wire, or even moving at all particularly often
what happened
idk im assuming the tolerances are off or something becuase i either line up the holes and get it floating or fully seat the back hook and it sits popped up with a ton of tension like so
knight v3 stabs in a keychron v3 max, i put the stock stabs back in no problem and im gonna try again and do some measuring tmrw when i try new switches (so i might as well open it up)
a little tension is fine
sir it felt like the board would snap
and this happens sometimes
usually I'll fit the hook side in first and wiggle it side to side until it fully settles, then put the other end in and screw
also the hole for the screw still didnt line up after
ill play with em again when i open it up
hey guys im looking to upgrade my keyboard that i use for a lot of typing and gaming
i currently got the MSI GK50 with Low profile white clicky switches
and they hurt my fingers after i use them for a few hours i dont know if the cause is the low profileness or if its because i need to put a lot of force on the switches
i want something with a very tactile feel but i dont want it to feel like a membrane keyboard
the switches i got right now are not really tactile as i wanted, the sound is pretty nice but sometimes its too loud
i heard of the brand wooting but i dont know if thats a good brand or not
the only brands i know for keyboards are the gaming brand ones but most of them are selling overpriced junk
Hmm well for low profile there won't be as many options
Wait do you mean upgrade the gk50 or buy a new keyboard that's better
do you like clicky switches still or would you want regular tactile
buy a new keyboard thats better
i want a tkl one
i want something with a heavy tactile feedback
that doesnt feel like membrane
yeah but generally both can give you a heavy tactile feedback
you can choose whether to get clicky or not
yeah i want clicky
but i dont want it to be very loud
like those razer purple switches
may be a challenge
okay then something not clicky
just looked up those purples and they kinda sound just as loud as others
actually as far as clicky there is the ttc brother which should be a bit quieter but i have no idea
thats for switches
what is your budget roughly
i dont really have a budget
if its very amazing i get for any price
i want something best value for my money
but if you really want a number
id say around 200
can go higher
did you find anything @flat dock
got distracted
any preferences as far as sound profile? do you want silenced or just not 'loud'
just not loud
ive seen neo80 as a good option for the keyboard part but honestly i think you should research for the best custom keyboards, and figure out which are good by reading reviews and your own opinions
do you think i should fully built my own keyboard
most of the options are gonna be entirely built already, but you can change the switches to something you like more
some will be barebones where the keyboard is built, but doesn't have switches or keycaps installed yet
Keychron Q6 Max is a 100% layout full metal QMK/VIA wireless mechanical keyboard featuring 2.4 GHz and a 1000 Hz polling rate. Customize any key or create macro commands through VIA software as usual, and connect the Q6 Max with up to 3 devices through Bluetooth for seamless multitasking across Mac, Windows, and Linux.
Is there a way to customize the key colors?
screw came loose in new monitor,, would i be smart to take it apart get the screw out, it was bought used off amazon, XG259QN, everything works, nothing wrong with it other than that loose screw
only option is to buy new keycaps to replace them
You just need to change the keycaps
@timber zinc I also personally recommend against the keychron q series. Of the metal boards I've owned it's the worst imo
what do you recommend them instead
If they need the num pad hi98 or m1wV3 imo are better and cheaper options imo
i mean, unless you want to paint em or know a color changing spell
i like my keychron v3 max
with some 15$ keycaps
new keycap category: acrylic-covered single shot PBT
hand acrylic covered
i was looking at the nuphy airs until i found the blowing up thing
I unfortunately did not find that out until afterwards but luckily I didn't buy the wireless model
pretty sure its just their air line that had big blow up issues
v3 max was only 109 on yamazon
got it with browns, currently testing baby kangaroos and silvers
How are they bad? I’m generally asking because my friend has one and I thought it was pretty good
Just bad in terms of value for money I believe
yea
and the sound tests i hear are quite metally
i dont mind the plastic of the v max tho
just def avoid base v series and kinda K series if you are a gamerer
Can you send me a link to one of those 100% keyboard you recommend? I looked it up and it does not have a numpad so i did something wrong
i mean you could always see if the v whateverfullsizeis max is on yamazon
They're some of the most hollow sounding boards you can get, and a lot of the older ones had massive pinging issues. They also have a pretty bad build quality imo, with pretty rough edges and uneven anode and surfaces.
im not super keyboard knowledeable tho
Imo, v max isn't the moves either
i mean i think its quite nice but idc all that much
You can get a better quality similar board in the linky 87 for like $37
i wanted 1000hz polling rate and good latency and via in a convenient package
Newer v max also have really bad creaking
Got 2
And the newer chassis they cheaped out on even more
odd
Which was kinda upsetting cause they already were pretty poorly made
i think my amazon order was older stock then cuz mine seems fine
the only sound issue i have with mine is the spacebar stabs
Imo v max is the best rounded keychron line, but it's still overpriced and worse rounded than cheaper options
Oh, and also a high fixed typing angle was a dealbreaker for me
it just kinda is right there with all the boxes i wanted
3 degree typing angle(or anything not too steep), 1000 hz AND good latency, hotswap, qmk/via/keychron launcher ig, tkl
What does rounded keychron line mean
well rounded
it covers a lot of categories/features well
but isnt really great at any of them
Oh I see the sentence now
Most usable
V max line is still pretty hollow though too
Love it
Idk why keychron doesn't just move their PCB closer to the chassis
heres my v3max with baby kangaroos in (in the black video)
I don't
It's a creaky hollow thin board
Opposite of my taste
Not the space bara
Sounds really good actually
i love how poppy these baby kangaroos feel and sound
Imo hi75 is a good board for budget beginners
is that first keeb a Q series
Yep
I just found the first linears I really liked this week, hmx sonja
i dont think i can handle full travel linears
My friend got the Q3 also in navy and yeah it did sound pretty thin
Hence why I recommend avoiding it
Maybe it’s just me but I don’t really care what my keyboard sounds like. The video of the keychron and hi75 sound about the same to me. Both are leagues better than my current keyboard
the gateron pro 3 silvers got that short travel and are light
mfs need new ears
do you like how mine looks @charred plank 🥺
Ironically this cost me probably about what a new Q max would
Left is only stock foam sheet and gasket mount
once you fall deep enough into the hobby then you learn to tell certain ones :P
Right is bottom mount and an extra layer of foam
@timber zinc you can also get qk101
maybe its just the mic or the tactiles but the keys almost sound rattley
I’ve had other people also say what yall are saying but the opposite. Keychron being better. Seems opinion based
reverberation perhaps
keychron is better than a lot of things just not for the price
keychron is just good at having something that is decent enough for just abt anyone
they are a good one stop shop
also you will always find a keychron keyboard in your preferred layout for example
but if you know what you want you can find better
yea
just pretend q max doesnt exist
A lot of people in my experience shill it cause it's top of the iceberg
It's better than Razer and the gamer brands and mainstream ASF
So people assume it's the best
its like, hello fellow gamers, i know a keyboard brand

mfs discovering the dt 770 after buying exclusively logitech g shit headsets
ngl i did upgrade to dt 1990s tho
ik they controversial
and i did prefer the sound of the sundaras
but those headphones genuinely gave me a headache
to wear
so i went 1990 and just eq
me buying truthear reds after using an old gaming headphone for years
suddenly the stereo imaging has width!!
i mean i thought they sounded better than these and quite great
comfort was just shit
and the build
atleast my 1990s are very comfortable bricks and get most of the way there on sound for me
man, why is it so difficult to make a silent tactile switch that doesn't feel like mush
the ttc silent bluish white and the lichicx raw silents are both great, but they have horrible ticking and pinging noises, both on leaf and springs
Maybe not the right place for this, but I've been trying to find the answer for this for quite a while now. My question is about the D-subminiature cable connector standards. The name itself implies that at one point, there was a miniature variant and a full sized variant, but I've looked into the history and nobody mentions any predecessors... Only that it was developed by cannon in 1952, and later on HD and microD were created to keep up with the times. Does anyone have any leads or an answer as to what came before D-subminiature?
My guess is they named it subminiature to indicate how small it is
Since cannon only used D as the prefix for the product line
alright
guys whats wrong with VA monitors?
the super cheap ones (which is kinda one spectrum that VA thrives at) has super slow pixel response time, which lead to black trails behind moving edges
otherwise, not much else tbh. The good one minimize that drawbacks enough that you probably won't notice, while keeping VA's advantage over IPS in terms of contrast ratio and stuff
So basically for fps games IPS is the way to go?
IPS is like the most versatile, it does all thing pretty good
TN is like tryhard level professional player playing for worlds or something like that. TN has the fastest pixel response time out of the 3 LCD tech, but everything will be off-colored when you look at the monitor not straight on
OLED is the new frontier, 0.3ms pixel response time, great color etc
but the current tech has burn in issue over time
So for like budget gaming get an IPS panel l, and I assume high refresh rate monitors would cost more in contrast to VA
Kinda, yea
You basically trade VA's higher contrast ratio and stuff (which would be nice when you want to enjoy the visuals in game, maybe HDR if that monitor has the hardware to support it) for better motion clarity from an IPS. Don't have to deal with the black smearing and motion defects and stuff, you know
and since your priorities are fps games, I don't think you spend much time enjoying the visuals
Thoughts on which to get? (XPG Slingshot & MSI Forge GM300 respectively)
a wireless mouse
Anyone have thoughts on the Logitech G Pro x TKL Rapid keyboard?
Looking to get a new keyboard since i have the Corsair K70 Core right now
terrible
Im thinking about the Pulsar PCMK, I've looked at the ROG HE keyboard too as well as some others
I just dont wanna spent 300$ on a wooting lol
wooting is 150-200 max
the 60he
Id want the 80HE
plastic or metal doesn't matter to me too much
my roomate has the 80HE and he likes it
I also program so I dont want to lose all my keys, but I am thinking more just straight up gaming for this keyboard, and then another for typing
Its 175 for me right now for the 60he
Plasting 80HE is 199 so id spend the other 24$ on it
tigerlite HE
check those out
Tiger Lite Gaming The inception of the Tiger Lite Gaming project stems from a dedicated community of ABS plastic case enthusiasts. These users seek a lightweight alternative that offers a distinct acoustic profile and typing experience compared to traditional aluminum Keyboards. With the Tiger Lite Gaming, we have metic
this one is 80he killer
You gotta add all the stuff to it though
Not too knowledgeable on what I have to put on it on the website
the checkboxes part
150 for it with Gateron Jade Pros seems pretty good
better than wooting for sure
Is there even a difference between the Jade Pro and Jade Gaming besides the top of the switch
the specs i think
Ill take a peek at it more when I get home since I am about to leave work
right
My roomate has a Wooting and I've used the Lekker switches before on my Sayodevice since they are better than the stock switches on that keypad
Also software is a big part of it for me since I basically use iCue for everything right now and I am about to move completely away from corsair cause its giving me problems
gaming brands are just a gimmick
is time for you to buy some actual good products
Fr
I’m gonna get an LTT desk pad, and then a new keyboard and mouse. Def wireless mouse and want to try to get a HE keyboard
so you play games or just wanna try out what he is ?
I play games
Siege mostly for FPS but thinking gonna be getting into some other stuff
SIEGE
ive had the northern lights desk pad since it was first purchasable
well atleast i ordered it
deskmat
I have a corsair deskmat right now that has a small USB hub on it which I like so I can have my charger for my headset and mouse on it
Its is old and lowkey kinda nasty since the only place I could eat at in my Freshman dorm 3 years ago wass my desk
Also convienently need to measure my desk and havee no tape measure
use your thumb
What confused me with this page is that they show just the frame when you first click on the website
whats the best keyboard under $150
Deskpad I have right now is 930x400 so Imma get a 900x400 deskpad
I just looked at the figure not the text lol
same
My mouse is "2000 Hz" polling rate, but polling rate test shows just under 1000 Hz
Yea I was
I got the razer app for polling rate testing
NuPhy and MCHOSE are coming up a lot when I am looking for HE keybaords
K70 Pro TKL seems interesting, but the F keys row, arrows keys, and some other ones are normal mechanical keys
cosair lol
Yea that too
dont get that
I keep seeing the ROH HE keyboard too
items being advertised mean they arent good enough
Pulsar, NuPhy, Wooting, and the ROG are the 4 I see a lot in reviews
https://www.lttlabs.com/articles/keyboard/pulsar-pcmk-2-he-tkl
LTT Labs got the Pulsar review
reviewers are paid
I think LTT Labs is unbiased
Plus tehis Pulsar keyboard is hot swappable so i could buy a bunch of Lekkers or Jade Pros and put them in there. THey come stock with Gateron Double Rail
Looks nice
Seems a tad tall for no wrist rest
My main issue with my current keyboard is that I do not have a wrist rest for it and it is fairly tall
Yea I’m just too lazy to
actually seems like this one was for me https://www.clickspeedtester.com/mouse-polling-rate-checker/, although i tried keyboard ones and they were not because i can't physically press keys fast enough to do 1000 hz
the keyboard test on that same website gives me 50 hz lmao
that's just because physically the fastest i can press and release a key, not a very smart way of doing their test
wbu
on spacebar clicker
spacebar clicker at the top
why is "spacebar clicker" on that website a mouse clicker
then spacebar counter
o
it works but spacebar puts ur screendown too btw
gotta have faith
did they even test this before releasing it
thats like the most obvious oversight ever
no cheating
(i switched to a speed silver and used both pointer fingers lol)
got 39 with just right thumb and 35 with left
i can get 40 with pointer fingers
guess im goated
these are full travel tactiles
the baby kangaroos are hella grippy
to keycaps
took the switch out with my spacebar
my gateron melodics are like that
melodics are the only switch to get pulled out of my keyboard with the keycap so far
man the gateron beer sounds awful on spacebar
ive had it happen with the jupiter browns but only the 5 pin ones and only somtimes
meanwhile the bbks managed to pull out a letter key
with a brown lmao @flat dock
gat jupiter for me
im slower with the beer
in a v3 max as im sure you know with all my yap
this is such an awful spacebar key
skill issue?
itjustfeelshorrible
not a fan of the bbk spring ping if i go slow or push on the south side medium speed
still good switches tho
¯_(ツ)_/¯
stuff it with sticky tack or tape
i just stuffed mine with a small maount of sticky tack
its now slightly heavier and substantially deeper
it's like bypassing the gasket i think
mf what
no
baby kangaroo just pulled out when i took off my spacebar
again
grippy af
i ordered new stabs
i really dont want to open this shit up again tho
takes ages
hello
u use your hand or screwdriver right
💀
couldnt use my hand if i wanted too
cant get under the bar
not a floating keycap board
gateron baby kangaroo box is fire btw
using a screwdriver on keycaps is chaotic good
oh i dont have ny of the boxes from my switches
they get repacked by milktooth
at least i can buy reasonable amounts though
lmao
no
thats bullshit
use a puller
is 3 bucks
who looks at the bottoms of your keycaps
switch and keycap puller
ive scratched a few of my keycaps from the switch puller because of how tight some of them are into the plate
keycaps use keycaps puller not switch puller lol
i know
often you remove singular switches while keeping other switches and keycaps installed
what if you want to replace one switch
then i replace it like it intended ?
that's what i was saying
this is skill issue ngl
handle with care
not possible with a lot of switches
it is, you are just a careless person
is sad to see people sabotaging their keyboard
no there are just some switches that stay so tight into the plate that you cant keep it dead straight when p[pulling up lol
apply gentle pressure and it will eventually come out
wiggle it a bit and it will come loose
what plate you are using
be gentle
(no it will not)
i'm not saying all switches are like that
but some are
that is how i scratched one of my keycaps
If the switch went in, then it will come out
Wait, are you taking switches out with the caps still on??
it won't wiggle out lol
no
i'm just saying some switches have a really tight fit into the plate
So then how are you scratching caps when taking out switches?
after the switch comes out and my entire hand assembly shoots up
what does that sentence even mean
your hand shoots up after the amount of force required to pull it
Are you chucking the switch at the pile of caps??
there are caps surrounding it
whatever you say man
It is what it is
treat them like how you treat your girlfriend
maybe remove more caps then before taking out switches...
Get a better switch puller
every time its taken me too much force ive just had a bad grip on the release prongs
idk, definitely skill issue though
those laze speedrun disassebling keyboards
give that guy something on a cf plate
he will seprerate the top and bot housing
this plate is more solid so that's probably why
did that on some of them
aint no wae
it's a pretty solid plate
alu ?
fr4 with flex cut
skill issue confirmed
how can u fail to pull out a switch on a fc plate
no you're just being obnoxious lol
😭
He's really not
yknow whats funny
next time build your keyboard plateless bao
literally every keychron keyboard ive looked at has a "no discount codes can be used on the [this keyboard]" disclaimer
u wont even suffer from those anymore
glitter65 says what
is that different from just removing the plate from a normal keyboard and inserting switches
yeah u just remove the plate
and thats it
that would make it easier would it not
wow
idk why you said that then
no plate = no stiff pull out
so you can take it out easier
am i right
duh
yeah spooky
yeah
even easier if you use a 1.2mm pcb
lord help us all
with flexcut
i have a plateless hotswap on my pegboard
idk about that
pretty good ngl
there is no struggle if you just buy the tx switch puller
but did you buy it?
yes
i can pull out my teeth with that
but you struggle still???
that's the only way i could get the silent bluish whites out of this plate without blowing the housings up 20% of the time
help me understand here
so
which way are you orienting the puller
okay phwew
says he is not inserting into those holses used for them
6 + 9
15
east facing rgb when
like 5 of the switches on my rainy:
when will u scratch the case
because u used that tx switch puller
lol
plz no scratch case
idk but it really is an oil and fingerprint magnet
should i get another keee corn so i can have one linear and one tactile
keee corn
keechorn
wat case
get a keyy coolt
it's anodized aluminum
wats it called
yeah u bought it in black and those "fake pvd weight"
see atleast my plastic ass keyboard doesnt get fingerprinted
plastic probably is technically superior sound wise
i have anodized cases that dont leave fingerprint marks
preference, such hot takes
why does that one show prints
idk
bad anodizing
i mean for keychron keyboards
too thin anoded
it's like the only anodized thing ive owned in my life that gets fingerprints
no wonder it's so cheap
$100usd for cheapest semi-built board
if u want to support china buy neo or kbdfans
glad I never bought
the pp plate is also so flexible i can't insert switches on the edges of the keyboard without supporting it with an ifixit spudger
i'm glad i bought it
u have to insert them from the middle first
to stabilize the plate
then u do the edge
nah that doesnt help
it's just insanely flexible
or use a plate fork
yeah my plate fork is an ifixit spudger lmao

it works ™️
you risk damaging the pcb though
i'm supporting the plate not the pcb
and it's also a nylon tool
like i push up on the plate while inserting the switch
idk if that would work really for what i wanted to do
can i get a plate spoon
wouldnt the foam get in the way of the plate fork
ceramic fingers?
i am waiting for the aluminum plate for the gem80 to be in stock
waiting for nuphy air keyboards to not explode
pp plate
everyone hates foam, but the foam should help support the plate too a bit
pp 😍
pp and pc plates are garbo imo
its still not enough
ok pupcake
fr4 = best plate
stupid plate literally just bends away from the switch when you insert it
pcb made of fr4
so fr4 plate means u stufff ur switch into 2 pcb layers
lol
mine has 3 other plates you can buy than the stock one
plateless rainy75 when
hear me out
fr4 marbly sound
thats why i want to try something non fr4 🧌
dont it's a waste
all hail fr4
v3 max baby kangaroos
you should see my current switch config
is thif fully foamed
wat plate n00b
oh right keychron loves their aluminum plates
everything is stock except keycaps rn
i hear that ring
its a pc plate
WHAT
maybe its springs
your space ticks
they are high pitched and have leaf ping
cant really hear it over normal typing tho
im WELL AWARE
my ttc silent bluish whites have leaf ping, leaf tick, spring ping, and spring crunch
so i uh don't really use them anymore
i tried knight v3 but they dont fit in my damn pcb holes
i got some stabs for you to try
you can make fun of the rainy all you want but at least the stock stabs are great
wdyt
no ticking or anything
https://divinikey.com/collections/keyboard-stabilizers/products/typeplus-x-yikb-screw-in-stabilizers
Typeplus x YIKB Screw-in Stabilizers are patented stabilizers that utilize a more secure wire mechanism to reduce wire pop-out during use. It also has a POK housing material and new mold for a more consistent travel with minimal wobble and rattle. Can be installed without lubricant or apply lube for an even better typi
i'm gonna give these a spin
it sounds like a spacebar
been using tx ap v4's as well with bdz and 205g0 and they are great, but these are reaaaaaaally calling my name
they are whispering sweet nothing's to me from chyna
bro got insta deleted
this from like 0:17 on
i dont wanna open this fucking keyboard and get lubey fingers for the 3rd time
😭
how do you get lubey fingers from openign the keyboard
no
my spacebar by far has the worst ticking
its awful
left sided
luckily its left
i don't hear it when typing as much (i space with right thumb) and it gets covered up in games (audio) when left thumb
i'm still trying to decide between sonjas and the lichicx raw silents
wanna hear what unlubed nixies in a bauer lite sound like? LOL
i want to hear me sleeping
comment on my link65 guyz jeeze
its nice
SUGUOIIIII
mp3 :(
:trol:
i only like linears (so far) that have relatively flat force graphs
those are the only linears i like
other than that i like tactiles
otherwise you start to feel the spring weight
LITERALLY
its why i idnt mind my silvers
browns are fine
i like the baby kangaroos but they are a bit heavy
i do like how soft the browns sound
i am a big fan of the outemu pear
theyre light but also a good tactile bump
these switches are so scratchy
im literally using super tactiles
take your shame with you
i would just rather have linears than brown at thsi point tbh
idk i like knowing i can just start going back down again spamming a key in games
not worry abt missing the reset or whatever
you get out
thats what i would get linears for
I hold the bread, I make the rules
i have a bread plush too bub
also ive been yapping about tactiles long before the browns
I also have a jar of dirt
because browns are hated by the conglomerate
but not a jar sir
a jar of mx browns as dirt!
u collect those from ur old g80 cherries keyboard right
why are browns despised
harvester
because the people that don't hate them don't give a shit to talk about it online
oops
who still use browns in this economy
i love browns, they are great, they give tactile feedback to my fingies while still sounding soft
not cherry browns specifically
mx clears bro
that applies to all cherry mx1a
i am almost opening all my switches
heh, i rock kailh box navy
those are the heavy ones arent they
2nd best clicky
yea, the heaviest box clickies
thats why I rock new nixies
i love the gateron melodics
