geezus
just listened to a couple comparison videos, the blues ones are LOUD
also apparently the brown ones come prelubed ?
Damn
or people only recently moving away from typewriters

the green ones requiring even more force to press down would turn that into actual typewriter experience lol
For sure
Mine is heavier than all of those
63.5g
Sound wised
Clickbar switches are pretty snappy without having too much crunch
pro world clicky my fav clickies
No channel for mice
I wonder if boaty likes them
magnetic custom keys overall
are bad
what in the fuck
I checked this tutorial, very complete, very informative
they have a referral link for brushes for applying lube
I go to amazon france, same exact product, 5 times pricier
what the actual hell
it's a fuckin brush, how pricey can it get
especially when you know it's the exact same thing than on the US page
boaty apparently was looking for them before he disappeared lmao
I've got some somewhere they were really nice to type on because they have the alps like internals

Any good 100% mechanical keyboards for a not too expensive price?
what kinda budget you got
I have no idea maybe 100 euro max
I just got meself a V6 Max from keychron for 95€
between 80-100 euro's.
see if you can find a infi100 within budget
Can't even find one on amazon
maybe their website ?
I got my keychron directly from keychron
Shipping takes too long + amazon easy return policy
¯_(ツ)_/¯
keychron is basically your only option then
all good keyboards are on taobao/aliexpress or other websites
Only keychron keyboards I can find are between the 150-175 price range and thats probably because its bluetooth
which country ?
The Netherlands
you can find keychrons for 75€ on their website
they don't offer free shipping but that's still much cheaper
Tbh, that's overpriced even for what a q series board should cost.
Idk if they need iso, but if not keychron is pretty insultingly overpriced
I went on the .com websites, change € to $, it's the same
uh
I don't think I checked Q models
It's their aluminum board
It's honestly one of the worst aluminum boards money can buy
Shouldn't even be $40
V max series should be maybe $30-40
Normal V series should be $25-30
Q models are priced 160-220
Yep
What I'm saying is the prices they should be to compete in the market
The real price isn't near that
Keychron unfortunately relies heavily on their recognition and the fact people will recommend them to everyone due to them having options for so many sizes and prices
However bad the option might be
while I don't know nearly as much as anyone else here about keebs, I don't think you have a good sense of prices either
I don't know of a single keyboard you can buy with removable switches, bluetooth, dongle AND wired modes or pretty much any of the modular features that you can find for even twice the prices you mentioned
Leobog hi75 is a better sounding cnc'd board than q1 with better gaskets for $50
Nothing they make should cost more than that until they make better boards
Also, the reason I named each of those prices is cause I know something like the boards they have but better just over those prices or at them
There are better sounding plastic gasket boards for the price I said v1max should be
There are better plastic tray mount boards for the price I said v1 should be
There are way better aluminum cnc'd boards for the price I said Q1 should be (like it isn't even close cause that thing is just a failure of design)
- can't find it lower than 75$ (not including shipping)
- it's not even including the keycaps
- not wireless
- not 100%
I got the V6 Max with caps, wireless and it's 100% for 90€
20€ shipping
I wasn't recommending the hi75 for him... I'm explaining how it's better than q series. I'm not saying it's a 100% wireless board...
But also, in the US yes, they can be had for $40-50
In most countries as long as imports aren't high they can too from AliExpress
I think you're seeing this as a personal attack on your board
If you bought a board and you're happy with it that's fine
You can be happy with something even if it wasn't the best option
not even considering what Ollie was asking for, just in terms for what you get for what you pay, it's apples to oranges, cost wise, I just don't get why you'd mention that board at all
oh no no
I don't even have it, I don't know how good/bad it's gonna be
I just can't make sense of your recommendation
Did you read what I wrote?
It was a commentary on how keychron boards are overpriced
Not a recommendation to that dude
yeah exactly
To make him a recommendation if need to know more about what he needs
how can you say they're overpriced when they come with everything one could possibly want and when you do the comparison with what you claim to be a better board, the features and the prices just don't align at all
I wasn't on the topic of the recommendation at all
What do you mean the features and price don't match at all? The m1v3 and hi75 are better sounding cnc'd aluminum boards for 1/4 the price of Q1 with better gaskets too.
Boards like aula f75 and the million other similar $30-40 board are slightly less high pitched and hollow sounding plastic boards than v max series for cheaper.
There are tons of $20-30 range boards that are just basic tray mounts with a metal plate for cheaper than v1 non max but even they tend to sound a little less hollow, but might in the lower end have slightly worse stabilizers I guess. (There are also ones with better plates so there's that)
At the prices there though they'd be competing
Rather than just straight up overpriced
the Hi75 isn't 100%, isn't wireless, doesn't even come with keycaps
let's say we take the price of the V6 Max, cut 25% of the price to make it relative to size, remove, say, 5€ for wireless, remove ~25€ for all the caps, remove ~10€ for the switches, I'm not even accounting for stabilizers, you get 30€ barebones
that's a lot of words
I gave it as an example... There are other boards in different sizes... Infact, there is even a full size version of the hi75 of the same series.
You're just proving my point
Keychron relies on people being too lazy to look into other options so they just spam keychron knowing there is a good chance they have an option for the size and budget
However bad that option might be
wdym ? I came to a lower amount than the hi75
V series doesn't compete with gasket mounted cnc'd aluminum boards... @timid pivot
yes it does
The v series are pretty cheap feeling and hollow sounding plastic boards
they are good keyboards
V max at least has gaskets though I guess
if it types its a good keyboard
Not really
yes they are
I guess by that standard yes
But not a good one to recommend
why not
But I agree, if someone owns one already it's probably good enough to use
Cause already owning one is free unless you can tune travel
Recommending one generally costs the person money
Generally enough money to get a better keyboard
people dont want those chinese keyboards because of bad RMA and chinese laws regarding upholding those RMA claims
or lack there of
That's just wrong

When selling in a country that countries warranty and return laws apply
good luck applying that
And basically any company selling more than a hand full of boards will have curated policies to remain compliant
some do, some dont, they are not bound to do it by law
For any random brand
not worth the gamble

If it doesn't mention warranty void if removed stickers, it mentions for returns or servicing you send in the original and pay shipping but if in warranty the replacement is covered by them besides shipping it's compliant
And it's the same as basically any European or us keyboard makers policy
insufferable one sided conversation, i hope you have a good day biocc
If it says in big letters "NO WARRNTY NO RETURN NO MONEY BACK NO STICKER TOUCH" then maybe you have a point
the sticker shit is completely invalid in the US and the EU
In the US it is
In EU it isn't
love me some thocky keyboards guys
the "warranty void is sticker is removed" is invalid, google it
It's one of the few times eunis catching up to us in public protections that aren't military
In the us
Not in the eu
Idk what you're trying to argue though given I stated it's not valid in the US?
I don't think it's eu wide. Certain European countries have the same law now
Unless recently all caught up?
But either way
Idk what you're trying to srgue
As that want my point at all
And I originally didn't even state that they can use them
it's EU wide, it's been years
EU votes law, it applies EU wide
some countries can choose to codify it into their local laws with extra details or whatever
I stated to be us compliant the warranty policy can't mention void if removed stickers
the EU is far ahead of the US in regards to so many things consumer protection wise
If you want to argue about that go to a political discord I guess
Wrong channel wrong topic wrong server
lmao, consumer protection is rountinely the topic of WAN shows, this isn't the wrong server
and YOU brought the subject to this channel
whatever
Idk if you realize what my point was...
My point was just that companies had to follow those lines roughly that I mentioned to be standard for the industry and us compliant
@crisp patrol

Doesn't mean they're suddenly not EU compliant. Also isn't me implying EU has no consumer protections, so idk how that's what you concluded. I will admit I might have been wrong in that they haven't caught up with the warranty void sticker thing though, but not the initial point anyways.
You are going to have a very large circular argument with this guy, he will never admit he is wrong and will argue for the sake of arguing
Read one sentence up

just have a little read

yo dont you have that g80 from val? why not put nord on it
the 1800 ye
Back to an earlier point I didn't touch on though, even if we assume all brands that aren't keychron have 0 support and warranty, why would you pay up to 2-4x what something is worth just for expecting it to fail so you can use that warranty when failure rates in keyboards are probably close to at worst 1/1000 or lower
wait you got beige NorDE right? that would be so dope
biocc brother, lets just talk about keyboards and not semantics that nobody gives a shit about please and thank you my guy
It'd be like turning down a used 800 mile Lambo for the price of a civic cause you need that manufacturer warranty
yeah
dude you should mount that and take pics
you dont even need a custom, that fucks so hard
sorry to bother ye clacking gods with such a pedestrian question, but...
can you no longer buy a keyboard from Apple without some form of built in authentication????
I don't understand.
serious question: asking for my mom.
what do you mean by built-in auth ?
i think it is as well in eu
it’s servicing your device, though if the vendor denies your claims because you opened the device despite them telling you not to they could unlawfully deny your return
they may try to enforce their terms of service depending on lenght of the warranty
if you cause the damage yourself and they find out it was user error you will not get warranty, if the device fails due to a defect even with servicing you’re 100% eligible within 2 years for a replacement
if they refuse well, you can file a complaint or try again, you’re in right
depending on the terms of service outside eu, you may get warranty or not, probably only thing you’ll get is a 14 day guarantee but that can also be bent by the seller’s tos
is 10 days fine?, probs more because of christmas
amazon doesn’t have a lot of decent keyboards to choose
ac100 is decent but, if you don’t want aliexpress, taobao or such keychron is fine
or stick with your current one y
im trying to figure out how to type with two space bars lol
rama
best white wireless keyboard?
painting an aluminium case seems like a hassle
I'm joking, yeah that'll definished be a hassle unless you somehow got an industrial metal coating machine in your garage
if it wasnt aluminium i think its possible tho idk i have 0 clue
Can't anodize white unfortunately but you can paint with almost any painting method
oh
white or ivory alps
is that good?
really good
cool
white
cream was only really popular on apple stuff iirc
damn
a lot of focus boards or similar OEMs used white alps clones
those however are not clones lucky guy
odd thing is that the inside pcb says omni-102 and focus
focus omnikey 102
also omnikey-101a
1991 NorthGate OmniKey 102 with skcm white alps
aargh my hands hurt
been pulling the keycaps up with my fingers to clean up the 30 year old dust
cool thanks
Tbh, I still think the modded lucky is the best sounding after a/b ing
k i have pulled the top row of keycaps from my keyboard with a shoddy diy puller
does mean i have to go without it while they dry though
Wut
Why are they wet?
they are very dirty after being in a closet for 30 years
Ah
also the probable 5 years of use before that
I'd say 50% isopropyl dip them if they aren't a really sensitive type of plastic
While they are taken apart though
You'll have to re lube them though
i am allergic to isopropyl alcohol so water and tissue + scrub a dub dub it is 🌊
Maybe drop to like 20% isopropyl alcohol and the rest distilled water actually
That’s a better keyboard than what most people have
Looking for keyboard recommendations:
currently I have a razer deathstalker (chiclet membrane, got it for cheap a way back),
some bullet points:
- I like the feedback of a mechanical keyboard - tactile, not clicky.
- Keyboard must be quiet or close to it.
- Size I do not care about, I can get a separate numpad if I start to miss it.
- Prefer up to 100€, but if it seems "perfect", then can think of 150€
PS. It is ok to link me some forum posts too, but it seems that I want a bit too much.
Whats ur budget
Prefer up to 100€, but if it seems "perfect", then can think of 150€
U want a custom or a prebuilt
Realforce
topre
Doesn't matter, I can manage building

out of curiosity where do they distribute topre in EU
youre better off buying something preowned
new topre is expensive and not really that nice
my surface 5 shift key is stuck
its stiff is that a common problem with microsoft surface 5s?
hhkb vendors listed on hhkb website
for realforce amazon had them (idk if they still do) and some custom/keyboard websites
havent been hyped for a build in a while, this custom hhkb is really hitting that itch
how good is the redragon k708 pro for a budget of 100€
Old vs new keyboard
Lot more desk space now 🙂↕️
(Yes I type funny)
i dunno why my pinky kinda just sits at the side tbh, i think cause it does nothing unless im playing games
i need too actually learn too type properly tbh
too bad there is no realforce there
What that?
2x lg dualups?
o wow
in laymens terms?
oh I see it now lmao
im liking this keyboard even more
the wider keycaps attach to these little plastic clips
that can detach
instead of just break off forever
decapped
gonna rub the in between with a qtip soaked in some cleaning thing ic an find
white alps?
you might want to clean the switches honestly
it looks dusty
and alps is shit when the slightest amount of dust enters the switch
eh it works
i dont know what alps are supposed to feel like so im just going to assume based on my fingers that it feels fine
alps are nice but I can't really say much about the feel of kinda dirty ones
lucky me, bought a keyboard (rather expensive ), because the brand was recommended as a great Qmk compatible brand , and also because it was the only one that i could find with cherry mx blue's , awesome keyboard for typing like miles beyond what ve had so far, fully metal rigid casing eg.. , but no qmk , and not programmable which is a mandatory thing for me 😦 was only version 1-5 of the keyboard that was qmk , version 6 (the latest) is not , fml https://www.daskeyboard.com/daskeyboard-6-professional/
good keyboard
DAS Keyboard II is the one that you want to get your hands on
help
are the nuphy air75v2 s a good low-profile keyboard for the price?
my first time going mechanical, ive been using the mac keyboard up until now
(im not getting the lofree flows because its a bit above budget + less features)
(i do love how the lofree sounds like tho)
haha the text was about DAS KEYBOARD , but i got the 6PRO wich is almost the one i want 😄
but as far as i can find any info on it its not a qmk keyboard and its not programmable
the is a DAS keyboard
shame because it really types well , if i could id swap the electronics with the electronics from a keychron or so but ...
boggles my mind why they would make such a good keyboard and not make it a programmable one , feels like being cheated kind of
and the daskeyboard 2 seems out of production
yeah it doesnt really work that wayu
yeah they are blanks
yes i have oen
yes
neat
G80-3485LWNDE
wacky name
pad jis?
pom JIS
pad pom?
damn i forgot i kind of have a programmable keyboard , well kind of .. its mostly a keyboard and its programmable but not in the sense that the keyboard is programmable ... 😄
finally people are posting some keyboard heat in this channel
Grats
If your keyboard is a single unit it is probably poopoo
keyboards that split in two halves SUPREMACY
lets see yours then
notice how it’s in two halves like they’re supposed to be
Yes, that particular keyboard model was designed to be split into 2 halves. Pretty neat, if that style of keyboard works best for your needs. 👍 Cost aside, I like how many keyboard options we have these days.
my needs and opinons are to corect ones and everyones else is IGNORANT (real true fact)
that's some prebuilt garbage
20wpm typer
cleaning my beautiful mechanical keyboard so i have to usethis ass logitech membrane
which
Buy more
the one im using has been toe jammed in every nook and cranny and frankly im too scared to open it
broke
Sell ur alps
hell no its my inheritance
My kids wont be bothered if they get my 70 years old switches
its a vintage 😡 😡 😡
me when i spread misinformation
^ used to be cool then started having shit takes
my takes have only ever been realforce is better 🤷♂️
Got this yesterday is the razer basilisk v3
Hey I'm looking to purchase the Keychron K10 Pro and on the website in the selection box it says hot-swappable but if I scroll down it says the the black fully assembled variant is not? anyone has this keyboard could tell me which one is true?
thocky keyboard
K series is pretty bad even by keychron standards
Why
It's just a pretty cheaply made tray mount
Which one would you recommend then? That's 100%
Budget?
Could be none keychron too. Looking for something silent and potentially has back light
Abt 100usd
You could probably get a leobog hi98 @limber rivet
Cnc'd aluminum gasket mounted board instead of a toy thin injection tray mount with a hollow body
Okay what about 50-60 USD
I don't know many full sized boards in that budget tbh
Do you really use the numpad?
What would be the cheapest 100% keyboard you'd recommend
Yes I do 3D
I don't recommend many full sized boards tbh
I usually look at 75%
There might be other good full sized boards
But I just don't look into them enough
there are lots of good 104 keyboards
no
i need good keyboard for relatively cheap, i dont know much, preferably logitech (so it can match my g502 and i only want one software for all my peripherals) and with red switches (or any good for gaming) i dont mind blue if i gotta but i heard they suck for gaming so im not sure
i want minimum tkl bc the arrow keys and extra buttons that i use for mod menus
Are you located in the states?
good
cheap
logitech
the dont mix
get transition lite or classic tkl
Just get a tecware phantom elite. Recommended it to 2 friends and they love it. And third is on the way for another. It’s not Logitech but pretty dang good
Dinky keyboard
Evo80
does anyone have a list of romer G keyboards?
looking to buy one
hell nah
unfortunately they grouped their romer G offerings with their MX offerings on that page
Yeah I see that - you'll want to contact Logitech to ask why their website doesn't let you easily filter by Roamer G keyswitches, and ask for a list, since they're responsible for properly marketing their products.
I thought logitech dropped the use of roamer g a while ago
most of the stuff i see them releasing have some MX clone style keyswitch
I hope not, Romer G and Cherry MX were designed for different use cases and both are the superior choice for their respective use cases.
Romer G just feels way better for rapid spam-y keypresses
while MX is the still the king for actual typing
- they were not made for a super long time either, I know a lot of people complained about the use of them in their boards
at least in the keyboard nut side of the house
https://www.reddit.com/r/keyboards/comments/1ba773w/looks_like_romer_g_switches_have_been/
this might be pretty useful if you are looking for the switches themselves? looks like omron are reproducing them under the B3K naming scheme
If omron is making them, it's not a reproduction it's a repranding.
Romer G's were desinged and produced by omron for logitech
semantics aside..... heres basically your answer
Thx i'll look into those
Getting a keychron v1 and some cherry silver switches to give it another chance
Maybe I just had a bad first impression of the v1
all nylon speed silvers are good
the rgb ones not so much they have rattly leaves and dont sound that ogood
I got the non RGB version for pretty cheap
i cleaned it up a lil
fantastic it no longer looks like someone left it in a closet for 30 years
looks awesome!
Looks way better than a lot of modern one's
Anyone got a recommended alternative to the corsair k70 low-profile? Looking for something TKL but there's like no prebuilt with low-profile keys that aren't completely flat.
keychron
Don't I have to build those ones
no
opinions on best creamy 75% mechanical keyboard under $100
Neo 60 and 65 cu are now gonna be a thing
I'm definitely gonna get one
Just need to decide which
what are my options if I wanted to DIY a 60 or TLK Romer G keyboar?
You mean like that switch that feels like a membrane but is mechanical?
Why would you want that
Sounds like you had the linear ones
Tactiles
They had the most rounded actuation bump I've ever felt
Felt like a bad memchanical
Not even a good one
I don't even know how you make a mechanical switch feel like a membrane pretending to be a mechanical but worse
But they did it
memchanicals are meant to imitate the feel of MX switches
Mechanicals are meant to feel like mechanicals
Romer G's aren't meant to feel like MX switches at all
Not to feel like a half working membrane
Romer Gs do feel mechanical, you said it yourself
They have an actuation bump
Yea, one that doesn't feel like a mechanical
It feels like the folding silicone bumps you get from bad membranes that are meant to try and imitate a mechanical feel
Legit wish I took those switches apart to see how they made such a bad mechanical switch
I'd take the worst binned versions of a milky yellow over them
Your standard for what a mechanical should feel like is Cherry MX. Cherry MX is A Mechanical switch but in now way does every mechanical switch need to feel the same to be a good mechanical.
I hate cherry mx switches so no
My standard is it shouldn't feel like a bad membrane, shouldn't have spring ping, and shouldn't be scratchy
Romer g switches are legit just bad
No way for me to even argue in favor of them
Nothing is even close in the gauntlet of being bad
I disagree, I find that bump just right for gaming
while also being far more reliable than cherry clones
Romer Gs are built redundant, there are two switch mechanisms in every key.
Cherry MX just uses a single switch with tight QC,
While their clones are just what ever.
Calling other switches just cherry clones or calling cherry tolerances tight is actually crazy
Almost as crazy as calling romer g good
Dell makes some membranes you might like
Better feeling tactile bump
Feels more mechanical somehow
membranes are horrible at registering rapid presses
How fast do you type? I guarantee you any board will register faster than you can type
Unless you're doing like 6k words per minute
gaming? probably 30-40 keypresses a second
Yea, you ain't close
Legit though, get a remotely decent switch
You'll think they're actually out of this world if you like romer g
Hell, a bad switch might blow your mind
You could probably exceed what your mind thinks a switch can do with a gat yellow
I won't cause I like romer G
Romer G is what I like
What else have you used?
the others are what I don't like
Razer blackwidow V1, G910, razer huntsman & a couple generic cherry clones.
Depends, I'm willing to go higher if I can easily to repairs; otherwise about $100
Get a realforce
Get out of there with ur romer g bullshit
Sound ass, feel ass and barely compatible with any external keycaps
Look into bridge 75 if you're willing to do 75% @molten patio
For switches are you okay with linear or do you need tactile?
Tbh, romer g being proprietary af is probably a good thing. Means fewer people end up stuck with them lol
A topre will kill it
I like tactile, with the bumb being at just the right spot to tell me I've lifted my finger enough to press down again
Get a heavy tactile
pretty sure my current keyboard is using Outemu Reds
Like fantasy virus
Those sound like someone pulling their finger out of something gelatinous and slimy over and over
ew
Use a noise canceling headphone
Ur desire is type feeling
Or dragon ghost
pretty sure noise cancelling headphones can't delete the sounds of typing I am using noise cancelling headphones and it does nothing for typing sounds
It is
U cant hear it
aren't kailh switches considered decent?
Brand doesn't really matter
Kalih bcp gud
Then i'm going have to go back to the Romer Gs. The blackwidow V1 was kailh switches & I still liked the Romer Gs more.
Dudes actually trying for the worst keyboard money can buy
May as well get a keychron c series with it 💀
We seat here, yapping advice
Listen to it is your choice
Hangon u are using a noise canceling headphone

I've asked for my options for making a Romer G keyboard. You guys have told me Romer Gs are shit and to get stuff I find worse than romer Gs
Pardon what did u find
Clearly we have drastically different tastes in switches
I liked Romer G
I really liked Romer G
Go try a topre
that's an old school design
Those were very scratchy iirc
though it could have just been dust and debris from how old the keyboards were.
Lmao
Topre still released new boards
“Old school”
😂
Still looks like what they did on the commodore 64
tbh that might be my best option for a romer G at this point
Dink
das makes a roamer g keyboard
Hey guys im really dumb at picking keyboards, what would be a good 70% keyboard to buy? i do NOT want razer at all. I want mechanical, clicky and nice sounding but not too loud, and i dont want to mod it.
just asking since yall would be best for it prob
clicky and not too loud doesnt come altogether
choose one
... romer G was clicky and not too loud
clicky switches are not as loud as hard bottoming out keycaps
just dont type like a gorilla and keep a microphone away from the keyboard whenever using vc and no issue
Use kalih summer

we still yapping about roamerg
thank you!
Best switch cause it tries and fails to be a membrane instead of trying and exceeding being a cherry. Membranes the ultimate goal
Unironically, I think the dude just hasn't tried anything good and the Logitech board just took the most investment so he wants to believe it's good, but if he really does for some reason, he should move to "memchanical" switches
Cause they literally do what romer g switches try to do but better
memechanical
They're terrible, but romer g unironically feels like a bad memchanical
Speaking of memchanical switches, my first keyboard when I got my first computer was the Razer Ornata. I enjoyed it while I used it, can appreciate how tactile they are, but I MUCH prefer my current board, just a cheap 60% with reds I lubed.
I think if someone wants a REALLY clicky, on/off feeling switch, the razer ornata isnt a bad choice. Can probably find some used ones pretty cheap too
best tkl for sub 400$ ?
new to custom keyboards was told if i want a 75% kinda gotta go barebones instead of starting from just a board anyone have experience with this brand and is worth the price
anyone suggestions for a reasonable 75% barebones or like board and compatible top plate and stuff
there website i just saw has it on sale for $70
Does the top plate have to be metal?
no i was actually told for a creamy sounding build i should go with PC aslo was looking at the NEO70 from qwertykeys thoughts
Neo70 is solid, i assume you want something cheaper?
ya im looking for hopefully 75% wireless if posssible but not a deal breaker looking to do a creamy sounding build and would like to stay around $200 or so
if possible since its my first custom board
yay more budget kbds!
I would have been buying this, but they fucked up the bottom
wtf is this dawg, should just left the bottom brass
this plate looks stoopid
Does it matter? Unless you’re displaying it, only the desk will be seeing that side 😂
@patent belfry I think the decorative bottom is optional
yes, i care about what my keyboard looks like
hopefully
other than that gripe i really like what direction they are taking
Neo 75 is already kinda insane to think of as a like $200 board
would be more elegant and cheaper without that back plate, and just 4 feet
rainbow finish is so overdone and tacky now, jane v2 ce did it better
I kinda like the chroma finish tbh
But I get it's subjective
I think they'll make it optional though
Hopefully
i like higher end boards and this almost scratches that itch at under 200
I think I should start to find some new keycaps. Any suggestions?
Tbh, might make more sense to just get a better new board if you're able to
Have been looking at them. And probably will. So new board suggestions are welcome too
@hollow hull budget?
No more than 250 euro. Full size, use blue switches now but red brown like are also fine
Oh
That's a pretty big budget
Didn't expect that lol
Based though
Idk many good full size options though
Tbh. I don't know what a good budget is. Would like to be 200 but will be willing to pay 250 if it looks cool
Do you actually need the numpad?
Would really prefer it. Do I use it daily no. Do I like it when I am able to use it yes.
infi100
i really like budget keebs
https://www.mechlands.com/products/keyverse-infi100

I got this keyboard like a week ago
https://stirline.hr/proizvod/gamenote-mehanicka-usb-tipkovnica-hv-kb498l-backlit/
I understand that for sure, I just mean that personnally I would be much more concerned about how the front and sides of it look alot more than the bottom, as I wont ever really see the bottom if im using the board. As I said, unless you plan on just building the board to display, the bottom doesnt matter nearly as much as other factors... in my opinion
spend money and get it all.
Fair enough, thats totally fair too
dcs
Panic
otd red alert?

got pics of the set? im looking for a DCS beige 7u spacebar
i will buy from anywhere in the world at this point
Im outside rn
Some sp grab bag geeks will probably have them
i need some
needs to be that alpha colour
beige
Leobog A75. Was 120 CAD after taxes (shipping made it skyrocket because it's from china). It's built really nice, come with liners but I swapped in seafoam tactiles. Wireless 2.4ghz and Bluetooth available. Weighs a decent amount.
(shipping brought the final price to around 190)
Does anyone have any recommended keyboard lubricants (that is in stock, divinkey is sold out of all 6 lol)
205g0 for everything, bdz for stab wire
BDZ is thicker grease than a 205g0 is, correct?
way thicker
you got scammed
200$ is wild for chinesium
I use 205g0 for switches, dielectric grease for stabs, and super lube for springs.

wyse alpha color?
Customize your mechanical keyboard with a spacebar that fits your unique setup. Blank DSA Spacebars - sold individually. Colors listed are ABS, PBT and PC. For color reference, see the 'colors' section under resources. Mount Spacing on Spacebars: 6 Unit - Single Center Mount - 2 Outboard mounts spaced 1.50 inches from the center mount 6.25 Unit ...
wyse alpha color is gsx
this is dsa
oops
welps, could be a stand in until you find a dcs one
surprised SP doesn't sell dcs spacebars separately
since they do for dsa and sa
they used to, im looking to buy a vintage 7u bar anyways, not a new one
that'd be a tough find, You'd probably just have to buy a whole vintage dcs keyset
but best of luck to you
id be fine with that
It's because of shipping. After taxes it was only 120. Due to customs and the weights, plus it has a battery, that added like $70 (and the only shipping option was DHL)
someone in the Canada Mechkeys server was selling an Amano r2 fully build for 200 cad shipped
which is a far better board
honestly why are these boards so expensive outside of china
I also bought this keyboard like a year ago, so
I legit can get one for under 200rmb (25 usd) including shipping
where the hell does that extra money come from
price in CAD
If they are selling for 200, they are scamming themselves
stuff doesn't sell for above retail unless keyboard hypebeasts desire it
are you in the canada server?
They dont have to sell above retail, but only 200, they could've made so much more
I'm banned because apparently I'm on an alt account (?)
its been sitting for 3 months, nobody is buying keyboards.its the best time to buy things in the hobby right now
Altdentifier hates me
Invite link has expired apparently
I'll DM you a link
Just go on your main smhmh
should i buy a topre hhkb with my newfound currency or a new chair/speakers
for context i’m using a custom mechanical keyboard (but i hate linear with a passion)
but my chair is a chair stolen from a school
and i have creative pebble v2s
which are fine
but they are usb speakers in big 2025
May be the wrong place to ask
what are you typing on right now
Hey I was wondering what keyboard would you recommend I'm looking for a 75% keyboard with a creamy sound, linear switches and has a white themes aesthetic for a white setup
Budget £100-£200
Okay
So my charry switches arrived
And I actually think they are the worst switches I own rn
merry Christmas keeb dweebs! don't spend your Christmas money on ewaste and memeS! be smart this holiday season
Bullshit
They are pure scratch and spring ping and uneven pressure curve
No hate on anyone who likes them
But I absolutely hate cherry still I guess
Mod it
Nah, I don't think they're gonna get less scratchy or deeper or less pingy than my pom pianos no matter the work I put in
I might lube the springs though and keep them as spares for a random project or place holder switches
🤡
L+f, burn in 2m times abd spring swap it
Thats what u have to do anyway
Else they are shitass
No matter the wear in they won't get as smooth as unlubed pom pianos
A good spring might fix the force curve besides the scratch
Tolerances won't tighten with time
skill issue
you are supposed to lube, spring swap and film
And if I'm lubing a switch I'd rather it already be good than with enough work it can get almost as good as a pom piano with trash tolerances
you should try broken in mx black
then shut up about it not being good
Unless I sand them on top of lubing
U are comparing one of the biggest switch manufacturer to a random Chinese company
dont comment on them if you have not tried
literally skill issue
Got my hands on some west german vb’s in sunday meet
Seems muted to me
are they smoother than hg?
A bit i would say
I have not tried them but supposed to be right
Size of brand doesn't matter to me
I care about tangibles
Is that wasnt ur concern then they are ass to me
Only thing akko did good was their switch puller
Ooooo meet
I don't use aklo switches?
Idk, maybe they're worse
But nothing I have ATM is worse than the Cherry's I have
Lubed or unlubed
kohaku
The red one was kalam
this guy has the worst take ever
ew
I yeeted him out of existence
I'm literally stating what I'm able to observe rn?
lmfaooooo
Like I have the switch in front of me
Yeah the fish symbol was off
Had a couple friends try to to confirm it's not some bias
Everyone visibly cringed when they got to the cherry
only thing bad about cherry is the springs and for some, the scratchiness
I have mx black from 2000s which are supposed to be scratchier than hg
and after spring swap+film+lube
2 pc’s koi tho so the fun did not ruined
Maybe you like scratchy
it doesnt feel scratchy
no
@patent belfry surely the one with a box of vints would have something to say
Even tho their fcfs flop as hell
Once he said he got 3k vb’s
Well I doubt all 80 of my switches happened to be one off coincidences on this batch and every batch of reds and browns I tried was the same one off scenario

I put some kailh low profile deep seas in my iqunix magi65 pro and I was NOT prepared how silent the keyboard is now
want to see a lot of switches?
the thing is, mx switches needs to be lubed and modded
correct me if I'm wrong, but he grabbed a build's worth of them out of the box and just spring swapped them and they were great
Should be nos
most mx probably only needs a new spring
pilled
honestly has anyone tried mx2a
yes
shite
Well you absolutely delivered, that is a LOT of switches
how do they compare to hg
Mx2a mid
even worse springs, correct?
looks like someone busted a load inside the switch
yeah I saw pics of it lmao
I thought u got unlibed ver from geom
i tried the cherry orange MX2A
I get they'll be better with that, but a switch that isn't absurdly scratch will be less scratchy without lube and especially with lube than these will be with lube
Burn in it
Type on it 2m times
U are offending an absolute fact
Cherry being cherries 😂
That will make the already bad wobble worse and still no matter what won't get it as smooth as a good switch
you can always just buy new springs ig
Can u read what everyone said ?
Mod it
but either way I'm sticking with older stuff
It'd be a lot of effort to make the worst switch I have the worst switch I have by a smaller margin
yeah but for 2a I gotta clear off the lube too
and its more expensive
Maybe if I'm lucky get it ahead of my milky yellows
lmao fair
Good keyboard around 100- 200 euro tkl
Evo80
transition lite
Classic tkl aesthetic nicer than trans
Yeah foamboards
But I am from Netherlands
U want iso ?
hg blacks w/ kelowna pc or gon sticker, tx or gon spring
the ultimate switches
w
gat films are also decent imo
Rb we talked about earlier will need mods yeah
?
@charred plank @spiral mica name that switch + mods
I think i will get it in 2025 after figure out the shipping methods
UK layout
Is like enter for europeans
or other euro language
Uhm I want wasd
wasd?
The enter keys
yeah not qwerty
Evo80
i dont think you actually know what youre looking for
That’s going to cost probably a lot because I need to sent to the Netherlands
Yes a low latency keyboard I like red switches but if it’s lower latency then idc Wich one
U gaming ?
Idk I don’t call myself a sweat but I like to be fast so I can stick up to the sweats 😂
PBT Double Shot keycaps Media controls in the F-row New matte black color for Majestouch 3 Includes PS/2 adapter Genuine Cherry MX switches Space saving TKL form factor Filco Majestouch 3 TKL The Majestouch 3 TKL is now available with the newest PCB, microprocessor and USB2.0/Full Nkey rollover in the original FILCO de
Wooting 80 he
What I was going to say
Their sound is ass but u are on ur headphone anyway
I felt the sore in my mouth whenever i rcm anyone a HE lol
Does latency really matter that much anymore? I feel like even reaching into e-sports skill level, the latency on modern devices is so minimal (with the exception of wireless) that I really dont think most humans are capable of even telling the difference between a millisecond here or there
Be a 1% first and u might understand

Goly shit 220
But no problem I can buy it when I get a job next year I have more time
Thats good price for 80he
you have some colours of vibe in mind?
Any big vendors
Yeah and they got gamer rgb
And socd
Retro
fun fact, novelkeys.com will allow you to send in your own art/photo for a custom deskmat in an array of sizes

https://novelkeys.com/products/custom-deskpad
i think you could find one pretty easily
they also offer a bunch of different materials
!!!
im sure you could work off this and make it slightly wider
that would look great
that would be nice
plenty of options
custom keyboard
gmk67 with akko cream yellow v3s i think
i hate linear though
change out the switches then
I don't mind a heavy linear, but lighter ones feel like nothing
@patent belfry @worldly garden @spiral mica I lubed some to try out lubed. Still not my thing but definitely better. Still too scratchy though
Now have fun cleaning the lubes
¯_(ツ)_/¯
eh its fine even when not broken in imo
It's okay imo now
Not good
But okay
I can use them lubed on a spare board I guess
spring swap and film first
I prefer less scratch
But no scratch is non sense lol
500k-1m is fine
just too lazy to break in
Send it to a modder
and pre broken in are hella expensive
Not everyone have their own break ins machine in their home tho
I was tempted to get one but imo too inefficient
and I dont use cherry mx that often
Well yeah
There are a lot of modders locally so shpuldnt be a problem when i need complicated mods such as break ins and diamond polish
Maybe if I don't like neo 65 cu I'll put them in that
And just make it a more clacky board
shoulda spring swapped and added stickers
Getting a pp plate for the neo soon
Clacky boi
boomer keyboards
Stick to ur full foam
I don't use foams on any of my boards rn
Removed it from my neo 75 too
Sounded more full and lively without the foam
Or maybe full isn't the right word
Just sounded louder and more lively
Didn't really change in how full it sounded
Also switched to bottom mount
The silicone gaskets it uses feel kinda yucky through pom and the resonance between the two is kind yucky
Sell it and get the pt1.75
Pp might play better with the gaskets
Nah
Muted sound enjoyer i see
Don't get me wrong
Is neo75cu 3 modes
The board looks interesting
But neo 75 I got to sound pretty good already
With a little more effort in sure I'll have it exactly where I need it
Try the pt1.75 then
Tbh, maybe I'll get it instead of neo65 cu if the reviews aren't great
I'll be open to it
Im wondering neo eftort is trying to put in “premium kb features” and try to cut down the cost
Like whole ass copper bottom
Just do full brass or some shit and im happy to pay 250$
honestly I hate how new qk/neo boards look
Neo 65 colors are kinds bland
they are becoming more and more like meletrix shit
Qk design is ass, they are copying meletrix zoom’s
Love the cornflower neo75 anode
Yeah fr
and the new neo80 is legit a volt 2.0 and navi copy
Imagine they made neo fullsized with unibody design 😂
They already have a new one ?
yeah
Source ?
Unironically if there's a new neo 80 I'd like to see images, just the kinda gauge what it's like
Not doubting you
Just haven't seen it
well as i said
shit I mean qk80
"premium design and feauter. at low cost"
brain not braining
ahh yeah that
witht that said the neo65 is still nice
without that i would have to get a zoom or smth
used
Just get keychron v1 max
zoom 65 v2 is honestly nice
popular for normies
beyond that and its ass
foamboard is foamboard still
So many people flip out when I point it keychron isn't endgame value
eh I like my zoom65
Imo it's kinda like Beyer dynamic
sure
Like you see them all over when you enter the hobby
i wont mind if anyone like zoom's
keychron is decent
But once you learn the offerings in the hobby instead of just the gamer stuff you think "I kinda don't get why people get these"
I agree there
Just not too competitive with the real market for the hobby
lemokey p1 is nice
i dont mean to take chinese board down but u have to find which is good
Meh
qk is chinese anyway
