what the fuck
brASS
@heady compass you could try a wooting board
even more expensive
Save more buddy
Ibm
Wow
if only skcl compacts were still in production
it'd be kinda tall but the switches wouldn't take up much room
choc because im lazy
Goodwill hitting hard
are there even any consumer switches that are a half unit tall
pg1316s
m
Kailh PG1316M is a mini version of PG1316S, meant to be used on the F row. It uses the same scissor style mechanism, and has dedicated keycaps. If you have no experience working with this switch, it's recommended to purchase a practice PCB. As a lesser known switch, currently the only keycap available is produced by Ka
frow

surprised they exist
but do they feel good like chiclet
dunno yet
thin 40
gonna see how fast i can type on a 20
keychain idea

I dont know if this is the right channel for this but im looking for a good keybord for about 800 kr that you can get in denmark, does anyone have any recommendations?
I think the Nuphy is the current cheapest on the market with all of the features you'd want out of a hall effect keyboard. Only thing I can think of that's cheaper and hall effect is that wacky 3 button one made specifically for OSU
yeah i'll just wait for them to sort out the whole 30 dollar shipping for a 90 dollar keyboard thing because that is just obscene
or for someone else to release a budget 75% he board with the same feature set that doesn't have dog shit software
@cunning anvil managed to order everything i was talking about yesterday
If it's an issue of shipping, Nuphy also sells their most popular boards on Amazon, so I'm guessing that'll be a possible option in the future
And considering there is no QMK equivalent for hall effect keyboards, it'll be a long time till the software is consistently good between keyboard manufacturers
I'm looking for a keyboard for school and games.
I will be using it for long typing sessions and frequent gaming. Here are a list of things I need in the keyboard from most to least priority. I am buying in India, preferably amazon.in
8000 INR budget (~95 USD)
TKL or more (no 60%)
Comfortable typing
Wireless
Low latency ( even though this is below wireless, hopefully there is a keyboard which doesn't have too much latency )
Bluetooth over 2.4ghz dongle
Not too loud
Not too much but some level of tactile feedback
FYI am currently using a Zebronics Transformer mouse and keyboard combo so basically anything is an upgrade for me.
Any suggestions help. Thanks 😊
if u stick to amazon
only a aula f75 is worth it
oh that is an attractive price
but there is a 3000 rupee difference for a different color...
my desk is black... a white blue n green keyboard would look wierd
lemme see
What's the difference between the Reaper switch, Graywood switch and the Ice vein switch?
oof
got shot down
aparently too expensive
Sound probably
Anyway the price is off cuz we bought this for under 50
Thanks amazon
rn its 6000 rupees (71 usd)
ik this sounds bad but is there anything cheaper?
my dad expects it to be like those dell combos which you get both a keyboard and a mouse for 15 usd
Cant gurantee anything good if u go lower
what would i lose if i do?
the minimum on that is 2k less than this one
welp lost my chance
thanks for the help
Amazon.in: wireless keyboard and mouse combo

Membrane iss actually innocent, try realforce

Epomaker are legit?
Someone I know want to buy the "Ajazz AK820 Pro" from them, any proiblem with them?
legit, but a shit company
they are banned from r/mk even
bad customer support mostly
the build quality is good?
you have recommendation for a keyboard that will look good like this one for around 60$? ;-;
the board is fine, its just that epomaker (the reseller) is shit
buy off aliexpress or something
the same keyboard but from AliExpress?
🫡
here comes realforce again
any other keyboard I should check?
realforce of course
infi75lite

any recommendation for a 10$ red keycaps on amazon? 👍🏻
likely not on amazon at $10
sellers usually charge more
15$ is also fine
Buy whatever profile you like, make sure they're pbt
https://www.amazon.com/Custom-Profile-Gateron-Mechanical-Keyboard/dp/B0C8MYSR6X? There should be fine
$10
for 2-300 u can get a set of gmk jamon
Hi i was wondering, i mostly play on ps5, and was wondering if there are any good keyboards arounf 100 dollars that i should look into. Prefer it to be under 100 dollars. Dont really care if its 100% or 75%.
Next question is, my usb cable for my gaming mouse (steelseries aerox 5) snapped, so i am wondering where i can get a replacement, or any other cable that works as good
if its a usb c into keyboard and usb a out cable then any
an ak820 is a safe bet for a sub 100 keyboard
or just pick a keychron that you like
Mid
When i search it up, diff versions pop up, is there a specifix one i should get?
there probably is better
no not really almost all keychrons are good keyboards
Im dumb the other "version" is a flight💀
just find the one that looks the best to you and has clicky/tactile/linear switches that you like
Not outside a bubble
They're usable
They don't compete well with the market though
fair
Q1 is probably one of the worst aluminum boards and it's more expensive than a neo75
for a begineer entering the market keychrons are usually a pretty safe option
A hi75 would be better and it's 1/6 the price
V series is comparable to like $30-50 plastic boards with better software tbf
But it's double that price so you're paying half your money for software
where are you seeing it for that lol
Plus for cheaper there are some decent aluminum board
Hi75 is $40-50
Im so lost what yall are talking about now
where?
Q series is like $200-300
Chinese markets
Amazon and aliexpress
send link
It's $50 on amazon
its £90 for me
EPOMAKER x LEOBOG Hi75 Aluminum Alloy Wired Gaming Keyboard Barebones Kit, 75% Gasket-Mounted RGB Creamy Keyboard, Hot-swap Custom Mechanical Keyboard, with Mode-Switching Knob, for Win/Mac (Pink) https://a.co/d/7L2abmC
uhhh
thats not a full keyboard lol
i was under the presumption that we are talking about prebuilts
For prebuilts they range around $50-80
But like
You literally just plop switches and caps in
I'd rather spend $20 on gold switches and another $25 on good caps then spend $50 more for a prebuilt that has barely bottom barrel both
where are you getting £15 switches
just watched a neo 75 stream build
pretty solid
barely any pings

Here are one of the prebuilt versions for example @young spoke
It's crazy how cheap it is imo
i hate import taxes
it is unironically cheaper for me to buy that keyboard to an american address and ship over to england then it is for me to buy it directly here
yeah
im good without a 50% mark up on everything
they also just have like nothing
really ?
they have shiton products to
look at
are you sure?
there was 15 keyboards when i went there
including the cases so you can put switches and caps in

Buy products for your custom mechanical keyboards and accessories. Suppliers of Keycaps, Switches, Deskmats, Keyboards and more; through Group Buys, Pre-Orders and our massive In Stock range. Worldwide shipping available
all just overpriced imo
idts, their price are pretty fair
you can find those keebs for a lot less on other sites
also 0 budget options so not really for me
£70
I can't wait for neo75 to ship
I'm in batch 1, so I shouldn't have too much longer to wait
2 options sad
the mysterium looks cool get it
🤷
another vendor
protypist better vendor
they offer nothing though
bridge75 looks good?
it works yeah
what do yall think about the monsgeek m1 v5
Decent
Is the aula f75 better than the f87?
Because I can see the f87 is cheaper but it seems to be a tkl while f75 is 75%
if you had to choose between wired or bt for m/kb, which would you pick for which
you may only use each option once
i would not want bt
oh im sure
wired keyboard all day , and a 2.4ghz mouse
but which would you rather be bt
i have terrible ideas is the reason i ask
theres no point to making a combo mouse/keyboard is there
just eat the usb port
i mean HHKB did it
the hhkb studio
nipple + 3 buttons
no like a mouse not just a pointing device
no like one controller that acts as mouse and keyboad
i guess its only useful for weird cost saving
and mouse layers
mouse layers would be insane
imagine
mouse layers? like layer key on a mouse?
some mice have a button for that , i think some of them call it "sniper" button?
ic
the corsair m65 pro
the red button , if u hold it it changes DPI i think
or toggle not sure
but nowadays , most games have a setting for that , can change the sens for every type of scope (at least call of duty has that)
wait did u mean , a keyboard with a mouse connected to it? that runs on the same MCU?
ye
aaahh
ok
hmm
ye not sure how useful that would be
at that point just put a usb on the keyboard and plug the dongle into that
nah

wireless split keeb that can type
fits in altoids tin
might be gamer
but can you game at even 75% of normal
with this one? fuck no
i have an altoids design that i feel is 90% effective at games i play

i think i wont fit 2 inside a tin tho
might need to call a favor from my laptop switch guy
hey I am looking for a keyboard around 100 euros
and I mean in europe I find very nice sounding ones but it is not available in europe
which one
I don't remember
how hard could it be to make a mouse pcb
how big is the smallest usable game mouse?
@boreal rivet ur GH acc ?
does anyone know what that shaft is supposed to mean?
Quick question, are Kailh and outemu switch sockets compatible with the other type of switch? Like kailh switch on a outemu board or outemu switch on a kailh board
otemu sockets only accepts otemu switches (and akko cs)
kailh sockets accept all switches including otemu
Is there a way to tell without actually having the item and any clear images of the socket?
If I can’t find anything else online
From all I can tell, these are the clearest images
(Idk if the Akko yellow 3 pro is kailh or outume, and same with the galaxy80 keyboard)
?
And I can’t find anything online
All I can find is the keyboard supports 3 and 5 pin switches
galaxy uses universal sockets
akko cream yellow pro is not otemu pins
Ahh ok
What is the main difference between kailh and otume (outume? Idk)
Is there any really physical differences you can find pretty easily
I guess there really isn’t much worry about that then
Since if they aren’t used but on a very few boards, I assume majority of the switches follow that trend as well
Ahh
Hello guys, for the longest time I've wanted to upgrade my keyboard however never seen anything that match what i wanted, is there a website that can let me filter to find my perfect keyboard?
To be specific I'm looking for a white full 100% keyboard with cherry blue switches, RGB backlighting and preferably made by a known brand around £100 - £200
whats yalls opinion on the mad60he keyboard? seeing some videos on social media rn claiming its basically the wooting (which i obv dont believe) but id be interested on how they compare
Qk 100
X10 urr budget and u night have an austin r2
Is the aula f75 better than the f87? Because I can see the f87 is cheaper but it seems to be a tkl while f75 is 75%... whats the difference?
Wait up... is there any big difference between the f87 and f87 pro?

I'm seeing this on Amazon USA
I'm gonna be going to the us for Christmas... is this worth picking up?
Well... i could order it on black Friday... hopefully a deal would pop up
love me some thocky keyboards
anyone experience this issue using royal kludge keyboard where the keyboard lights up but key inputs doesn't register when using usb but works fine when using wireless?
Apparently the epomaker galaxy80 (or the version I was getting) is discontinued or something (although it’s being shown as being available most places you can find it, for whatever reason), would there be good alternatives for the same price? I had everything ordered, although it’s kinda hard to built a keyboard without a board
(75% keyboard, wired or wireless is fine)
Or the kit is, idk about the prebuilt model
infi75lite
I see that Akko has an offering for about the same price, is that decent?
The 5057s
I’m kinda building a list of a few alternatives and I can find the one I prefer the most
Realforce
no
akko 5xxx and 3xxx is bad
Apparently the black trimode galaxy80 is available, should I go with that one?
Or go with the infi75lite
Ahh
34 keys with similar layout to a ferris sweep
colemak base layout with home row mods and customized layers
3D model made with cosmos builder
Choc spaced, wireless with ZMK and aliexpress cheap nice nano clones
Switchs : ambient choc nocturnals (so much better than normal chocs)
New keeb
You're using a USBc with no data line more than likely
Keyboards will light up as long as they get 5v but can't transfer data without the data line and not all USBc have the data line
Such an annoying thing just to save like 2cents...
got it fixed, for some reason restarting my pc fixed the issue
Yea, USB can be annoying
hello thocky keyboards

i prefer a tkl over 70%... thats why i chose that...
i mean they do have a tkl version too
id say get a aluminum base if u can
i think better for the long term
and the price of that keyboard went up 16 dollars since this morning ;-;
Hi75 is surprisingly good
I'm gonna wait till black friday for a deal anyway though
Hi75 probably won't drop in price
both these are extremely out of my budget
It's already a $50 CNC aluminum board
With surprisingly good gaskets and stock sound
wait how much is a aula f75?
this morning the f87 was 63 dollars... hopefully it is a similar or lower price on black friday
oh wow
now its jumped up to 79
which one would that be?
anything hopefully less than 60 bucks would work for me
I don't necessarily need aluminium though... just a comfy typing experience
Not many aluminum boards under $60
i see
Literally only one I know of is hi75
Everything else aluminum tends to start a little higher
I am in highschool so I type a lot
u can go for the aula then, its good
yeah... just praying for a price drop 🙏
And maybe some 65% boards
yeah, i saw a gmk keyboard drop to $50, but thats still just a 65% layout
same
84 >>>
hey guys for some reason my keyboard arrow keys are writing WASD but they didn't swap my WASD still writes but its both of them writing if that makes sense
Quick question
is there a keyboard that u can slightly press on the key and u can move slowly in game like u do with controllers where u move the joystick lightly and get precise movements?
Any good tkl liner keyboards that aren't thick I rilly like my Logitech gpro tkl but when I soldered new switches my enter key got it's traces pulled it's fine but I'm thinking of replacing it addressable rgb or no rgb preferable
Ur lucky65 is
There are some chinese crappy full alu cnc at this price point that i wont mention
Hall effects/rapid trigger keyboard
HE can definitely do that though? It just matters on the software provided, some have macros dependant on how low you press after all
Razer's analog keeb is just optical instead of hall effect, both are capable of the same usage tho
I mean like idk if the software can do it, not sure abt wooting but afaik most other cheaper ones cant
Nuphys does, and they sell the cheapest on the market I believe
I plan on purchasing a Razer Blackwidow V3 TKL, is this keyboard good for its price? A major benefit I like about it is that it has snap tap.
Razer=overpriced
I realized something, keyboard kit has up to f13, although the keycap kit only has up to f12, so I just use a spare keycap if possible or something?
Or do I use that as a chance to order a special keycap that’s more unique
I have time to order something, I was doing something and I realized that
gaming brand = overpriced
use an artisan keycap
Brand = overpriced
this
their brand made up atleast 50% of their product price
example : apple
I probably will
Not exactly sure what I would get for that, but I will probably get something
aesethic
that their main point
Yeah
Like which one I would wanna get in particular
Since there are a ton of options for that to my knowledge
the one u like
I would need to build everything and probably see what I think would work after looking at some options
what are u building so far
I really haven’t changed my build any
Epomaker galaxy 80, Akko yellow cream pro v3 (or however the order is), and a retro like keycap set
I think that would probably narrow it down some
this one right
Yes
Here it shows f13 and I didn’t realize that before
Would esty be a decent place for artisan keycaps? I feel like they would have more options
And this keycap set
😔
for 20 more u can get a mid spec neo65
anyway
Oh, well I guess eventually I will do a more informed and educated build, so I can take this as a learning experience I guess
I think I could have been more brave on my picks too
And not trying to pick the safest option
ahh is alright
my first step into this hobby is bad anyway
i learnt from my mistakes
so
most people do
Yeah
I don’t think you enter a hobby with a perfect decision
Okay, so odd question... I got a GMK87 and I am currently away from home, but I can use it with a USB hub on my phone fine.
How tf do I even use via? Any alternative that uses WebUSB instead of WebHID since that's not supported on phones currently? 🙃
beige

isn't the bottom set portugese
spanish
I have lots yuh
damn are they common
nah
rich mf
So close to neo75 launch
Or rather ship date
It's already launched
Batch 1 should ship estimated Dec 3
Are the only keyboards with snap tap at the moment Razer and Wooting?

What switch is perfect for typing but not loud and also gaming but i want to have more of force back cause i am using the blue switch 💀 and it is so loud but lovely to type on so i am looking for something nicer
cherry MX clear might be it
Yeah I think it is good but the only thing is it isn't really tactile enough . what you think?
more tactile than blues that's for sure
Idk i dont know much about switches or pc stuff lol ur the expert
yeah I should go to the shop to test
thank you !!
if you're able to test out switches in a store that's the ticket!
goodluck my dude
Thanks
any good 60% keyboards with red switches u guys could recommend
cable must be on the left side this one i have is on the right side and keeps bumping into my mouse
I'd say they're plenty tactile for me
🙏
Qk60
nvm I found a solution that sort of works... AKA yanking the battery out at 00:00 so the clock resets, and downloading a key mapper app to deal with accidentally pressing print screen and flooding my gallery. I really wish Android would find a good way to implement WebHID already.
Any boards you would recommend for it? I know pmuch nothing about keyboards lmao
Flawless bottom case
is this the one you have
FedEx did it dirty
I dont have the qk60 myself
ah
do you know any good ones with normal arrow keys
60% does not suppose to have arrow keys ?
Maybe u want a 65% board
Wooo, space bar installed
hhkb
Time wise building a keyboard doesn’t take very long, right?
Like not talking about lubing switches and stuff
More just installing switches and keycaps
depends
if it's hotswap then yeah it takes basically no time
Ahh ok
handwire 1800 with exposed copper
what is the best keyboard for 50 bucks
none
Quadruple that budget and ask again
Quadruple
That’s exactly what I’m doing, not using a hot swap board or anything
yes sorry thats what i meant
Whats ur budget
keyboard
could you maybe give me good ones for 50 100 and 150 range
so i can watch reviews
i have a decent one right now but the problem is the cable is on the wrong side
idk who came up with this shitty idea
my mouse keeps bumping into the cable
but this is the layout i prefer if thats 65 then thats what i want
70% eh
C7/neo70
Yunzi al75 if u are tight on budget
For budget 65 u can get neo65 or even lower lucky65 v2
i think im comfortable with spending 100 dollars
now that i think about it
honestly most custom has cable port in the middle
so

Getting a womier sk75, what are yalls thoughts?
Techtok ahh keyboard 😭
Price?
Including taxes and shipping
any good keyboards / keyboard deals right now for like around/under ~$75-50? not looking for something really gamery, just wireless and sounds nice
It’s not the higround keyboard, that’s the true Techtok keyboard (unless it is a higround board in that image)
(I don’t believe the higround keyboard is terrible, it’s just like $160)
i would guess they feel like a 30 dollar board.
From what I seen online, apparently they are fairly decent, for like $80
Not for $160, which is the biggest issue from what I can tell, since it’s overpriced
so i got an interesting question about my keyboard that im gonna shoot a vid in a moment. i have the razer black widow V4 75% and for some weird reason the 9 key is cycling through the colors faster than the rest
nvm idk LOL
even reconnecting doesnt reset it
it might be the switch itself
let me swap the switch real fast and see what happens
i have had issues with the switches on the keyboard already
well it was a little loose LOL
i can confirm its not the switch
is this normal?
or should i contact razer?
i just replaced the switch for the 5 key cause it was double pressing
i need to know if anyone else with the same keyboard, https://www.razer.com/gaming-keyboards/razer-blackwidow-v4-75 , https://www.razer.com/gaming-keyboards/razer-blackwidow-v4-mini-hyperspeed , or https://www.razer.com/gaming-keyboards/razer-blackwidow-v4-pro-75 is having the same issues as i am

one of those wasnt a keyboard LOL
that socket doesn’t look good, you probably won’t get a replacement when it’s user induced damage
how many times did you swap the switch?
Once and that’s it
you haven’t force it in right
welp, if you haven’t caused that damage just return it

Holy fuck

Nope

Can’t read or smth?
Hi! Im looking to get a new keyboard and had a question (I think this is the right place to ask?). I currently have the Keychron K2 and thinking of upgrading to the Q2 HE. I will be using this keyboard mostly for coding and some gaming, would this be a reasonable upgrade?
is this the same as the aula F75 on amazon? its like $20 cheaper on aliexpress
what keyboards do you guys recommend for 50-190$ need something thocky white and wireless too
need help finding a white/grey mechanical keyboard with usb 3.0 under 75 dollars. almost every keyboard i find on amazon is usb c and im trying to use the black friday deal n save money
every type c port can connect via usb-c to usb cable? usb 3.0 is just a standard for the regular usb port? am i missing something
and keychrons typically come with more adapters than you'll ever need
also keychron but in white
which tbf limits your options quite a bit
what layout do you need
most likely, you are paying with your time waiting tho
there is a Q2 HE? and from what i've heard for HE you are better off going wooting if you can catch it in stock
yeah, the problem is that i spend most of my day coding (im a student)
have you typed on one before? like any HE board?
no
it is ALOT differn't at least it is for me, my friend grabbed one and it feels like typing on pillows of air compared to my boba's
no feedback, not for me
if you dont mind me asking, was this for like editing/coding or more for gaming?
He got it just for gaming, it was one of the custom ones that came out a while ago
i think it was the meletrix one
yea the BOOG75
i only played with it a little while I was there, for gaming i can defintially see the appeal but I wouldn't enjoy typing on it daily
ah ok, thx for your feedback!
noob keyboard
is it the one you posted here the other day?
i dont think my brain could handle such a small kb
lol probably
is the madlion 60he any good? is it worth it
Realforce is better
New keyboard, Nuphy Air 75HE, it's meant to be pre-order only rn but I managed to get it shipped early lol
Epomaker ew
What's wrong with it
Notorious brand
Why
Hah reddit... seems promising
Good luck with it
epomaker blows
anyone know a decent place to buy hhkbs for a run down price if it exists
ebay isn’t very promising surprisingly
china, japan, mechmarket, conical discord
The china
i’ll look there
thank u
i assume u mean
chinese/japanese websites
instantly found one for £35
although looks like a dog ate it
thank u thocctober…
I've had it for half a year no problems
thats cool and all but it doesnt change the fact that they make a terrible keyboard and have shit marketing ethics
I'd suggest lubing the switches. The greywoods I have feel like a scratch fest
Probably the only modern switch I dislike more than milky yellows
You could probably get away with just lubing the slide
shit takes this morning
Whats wrong
hi guys im looking to buy a new keyb, preferably 60% he, currently im looking at the nuphy air 60he 134usd shipped, does any one have any recommendations for better ones?
wooting
join a server where people care about HE keyboards
IE Mechkeys or some shit like that
surely there is a wooting discord
My dude, why would you tell someone to leave? @patent belfry
don't put words in my mouth
when did he say that
They'll just tell him all keyboards are the same and to get the most expensive keyboard clone of $20 boards
And then ban him if he doesn't buy it
you got banned from a server for giving people terrible advice and putting metal foil inside a keyboard.
literally a safety hazard
ah yes shit deflection
Not because I broke any rules
does anyone here know a lot about keyboard/building them
Also, if it's dangerous then explain why my board works?
of course whatcha need help with
so like my mom threw my keyboard
The server there muted people for not going with the first piece of trash advice given
and all the swirches fell and the battery burned out
but i got everything back togetherr except the battery
but when i plugged the keybaord in, it just spams the gkey
the other kyes work when i press them
but it spams g
sometimes it spams asdfg and then spams g
shou;d i js get new keyboard
What board even?
try it without the bnattery
v
i took out the battery
ok, check those specific switches, maybe remove a few and just straighten out pins
If it's still messing up then controller may be fried
Did you have a power surge or something?
can i resolfer a new conteroller or smth
nah my mom just has really bad anger issues
I mean technically yes, but also not really
If it's a question from you then you probably won't have the tools to do so
Nor would it be worth doing
Holy
dont get carried away, just check switches
You'll probably need a good hot air gun
Yea, if it's physical damage may be switches too
Thought it was an out of nowhere issue popped up type thing
Check switches first but if that doesn't work imo get a new board
that look ok u guys think
oh fuck they are fully bent
lmfao
might just take the swich off of a useless jey and not use this one
after fixing g key
pluggin it in spamemd the asdfg, after clicking a differnt key
went back to striahg t
g
yeah its fucked i took out my a and g switches and it still uses thyem , imma get a new keyboard im going broke, im on my 7th keyboard and idek how many headphones
anotgher $215 gone 😩
nvm i only got $30 left
boutta have to use a membrane keyboardf
Nah I took off the keys in general
And it still spammed it
Removed the whole switches
Btw is there a way to pull em out without a switch puller
I’m using a screwdriver rn
@patent belfry ok i replace the g and t switches
now it spams g
no more asdfg
swap a g switch with another one from another spot on the board
did that
still spams g
i think the board is cooked
do you happen to have another switch you could try
jnah i dont
try all the switches around g as well
wdym by that
@patent belfry ok
i put a switch
back in the a key
now it spams asdfg again
and the battery got on smoke and smelled weird so i cant test on battery made
yeah its on my driveway
i kinda just like
threw it
as far as i could
it was hot
try bending the soft pin a little and put the switch back in
might not be making full contact
whats a soft pin
on the switch
I take a pair of tweezers and just twist a small little amount
if that doesn't work it's a PCB iasue
issue
theres 2 pins which one iws the sof tone
the one on the outside
not closest to the pole
twist it a little bit
cause you said early it was bent a little correct
Q: from @hidden badger - hi guys im looking to buy a new keyb, preferably 60% he, currently im looking at the nuphy air 60he 134usd shipped, does any one have any recommendations for better ones?
A: By thocctober - join a server where people care about HE keyboards
IE Mechkeys or some shit like that
surely there is a wooting discord
Sorry, that doesn't seem inviting to me, it also seems sarcastic and not helpful or necessary.
If none of my impressions are incorrect interpretation of intentions, I apologize. I personally would like to come across more inviting in the communities I enjoy to grow the space to enjoy it with more people. So again I apologize if no one agrees with my interpretation of how the response comes across.
yea
yeah try that then
geon makes some sick HE pcbs too
Is it normal there are 2 lines on the top right one
just looks like scratches on the plastic
tbh this has tkaen like 3 days imma js get a membrane keyboard and be done w it
lost like fucking 2k worth of shit cuz of my bitch ass mom
I don't get it... Why does Linus and co not bring something like this when shooting videos? The amount of times they had no keyboard errors and had to spend 5+ minutes grabbing a keyboard could be fixed by shoving something like this in the LTT cargo pants. Ye, it isn't a nice keyboard, but you ain't getting a mechanical keyboard this small and pocketable.

Every time I walk into this keyboard channel you all just troll so hard on anyone new it seems
I was going to ask a second question because I'm interested in the hobby.
The first time I asked a question you guys made it feel like I don't want to be here.
The next time I come in here (today) the first thing on my screen was someone who appears to be interested in getting a 60% HE and the response is equally uninviting.
Do better... Heck, I don't want to be here and I have thick skin. But I don't bring it up for me. I'd just like to take part, learn more and enjoy the hobby with others but I can't be the only one who doesn't feel welcome in the keyboard warriors channel. lol
"BooHoo"
"Are you illiterate at some point"
Really? Come on... I'm not being insulting or trolling just want to take part here.
okbro
Apologize to those not involved, don't meen to brake up the conversation.
I'll just move along and play with my toys elsewhere I suppose.
Tbh, I don't know enough about he options
I would help but I'm not knowledgeable enough to
But yea
A lot of people in this hobby are elitist and toxic
That's unfortunate, I'm new to the community. But I could see myself easily wasting thousands to reach elite status lol obviously I'd rather learn lessons of those who have walked the path before me. But some of those questions might sound dumb someone with the knowledge I've yet to obtain. lmao
I would like to engage and learn, but no one wants to be called dumb or in my case feel like I'm wasting other people's time asking noob questions.
Still doing lots of research tho. 😅
You should buy a realforce
lmao just a little pocket change for something that appears to be trying to be a magnetic switch
What are you talking about
Oh sorry, I thought you were responding to me. I read that out of context.
I looked up real force with seen a $700 price tag and seen the 4 actuation points and thought isn't that just attempting to be Adjustable HyperMagnetic switches?
Now I have to go Google APC and see how it relates to keyboards lol
You’re one of those people who yap alot to seem thoughtful huh
Ugh. Again, just trying to engage and learn. Sorry for the inconvenience.
Actuation Point Changer. Thanks I learned a term I didn't know
@worn bridge just ignore @boreal rivet tbh. He mostly just trolls or is racist towards vintage stuff
My collection is 80% vints
So, I get the impression that the regular people here all know each other (or at least familiar with each other) and if I had to guess regularly troll and attack each other's preferences or just outright shooting down someone's comments aggressively are common place here?
So, if I adjust my expectations of a hobby forum to something more like a hostel work environment and expect to be trolled I might have a chance of having fun here? Lmao.
No sarcasm, honest question.
You spelled hostile incorrectly
its way better now
before we got like more than 1 realforce fans here who just brainlessly recommend realforce
Smh I just haven’t had the time
We are all having fun and helping people who got questions, only some inviduals are annoyed
Mostly everything abot keebs is subjective. I'm also new to the community this is a very helpful resource: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/15XmznA5T9d4PkfBG0TDS82ou6ihBh0oqr8Aux24SNz0/edit?gid=805940844#gid=805940844
Help you not waste thousands finding your subjective endgame 🙂
Imagine telling someone to start out prioritising sound over feel
Did not tell them to prioritize anything. Have a great night!

silent switches >
I can accept it if you can
?
What? I'm someone who can type 120 words a minute with 120 errors... it's a tallent. 🤪
only one error per word
I also had no hearing till I was 6 years old and they developed the tools to do surgery. So learning how to speak was challenging enough. So I'm not going to worry to much about spelling. I've managed two degrees that have nothing to do with spelling so I've done fine without stressing about it.
Uhhh ok
I have a keyboard that has 1 2 3 4 7 8 9 0 not working
Nice
I used on-screen keyboard
and 6
Ha! I missed 6 lol Time for an upgrade?
yep
What are your priorities? I recently had my corsair k95 start not turning on with the PC and switched to a backup EVGA Z20 and I hate the sound and the tactical input has sloppy feedback. But it was free so I'll use it for the time being.
What if I got a fake force?
And joined team fakeforce
Also, when it comes to installing switches on a hotswap board, do I need to take the pcb out? Or it it fine to just install everything while the bare bone board is together?
Nothing brah
Would it be as good as a realforce?
No
If you want to deal with trolls, rules 2 and 4 exist. I'd love to tell you them but apparently messages reciting them get filtered as they have profanity in them. 🤷♂️
I'm pretty inexperienced but got a couple keyboards recently after watching people build them for a couple years. Pretty sure you're fine to just shove them in, would make hot swap kind of pointless otherwise in my opinion. Just be careful not to bend the pins when you shove them in, oh and if you're using a top plate, it goes below the switches. It helps protect the board among other things when typing.
what the difference between keychron v1 max and the v1? and are they worth it or should i get something else for the 100 dollar price range
Foam and battery. Both are kinda overpriced for what they are, so unless you already have one I'd say look for something else (unless you need a specific layout that you can't find other options for)
which one is better from the 2
i need something wireless and has a knob 75% layout switches like the banana switches
also is it worth it to pay for the q1 or q2?
Max is the better of the 2, but it's the more expensive and more overpriced of the two
Q series is just insultingly bad
It's one of the worst aluminum boards money can buy
But at an actual premium price
what kind of keyboards do you recommend
Do you really need wireless?
would be better
yeah
Imo wireless is kinda pointless on keyboards though
Cause you still need a cable to charge them
And they don't exactly move like mice, so no weight saving or mobility added
what about a wired keyboard
Plus it means you need a battery, which tends to hurt the acoustics of the keyboard and is a big point of failure
If you don't need wireless, you could look into the neo 70/ neo 80 maybe (they'll cost a little more)
If you really want to save money you could get the hi75 too
It's like $50 and better than the keychron v and q series tbh stock to stock
the hi75 is from epomaker?
because i dont really like the layout for the neo
Technically it's from leobog. Epomaker is partnered with them to distribute on amazon
i’m going down a rabbit hole

https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005006845714638.html
You might want different switches if RGB is important to you. It's not the best keyboard, but it's very budget friendly as it's almost always "on sale".
Ahh, I might wait for some more people to respond to see, although I’m gonna assume it’s fine for the most part (if I don’t put a ton of force on the switches obviously)
what about the f75?
Are u happy with a barebones with other layouts
???
A barebone keyboard with no switch and keycaps pre installed
the layout on the rainy75 looks good
I wonder what the neo75 is gonna sound like with the config I have
Cause all the sound test on it seems to be super inconsistent so far
that is called a kit
Had to go to a meeting. The main reason you would do it party disassembled would be to stop the top case getting in the way. You're correct, do NOT push hard on the switch, this can damage the socket. Here's a video of someone installing hotswap switches. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TUvpwdHPOdU
its a barebone
barebones doesnt need building, just stuff caps and switches
i agreed both terms
that is called a kit
is it?
a kit is a bit more accurate as it seems
barebone is some weird term that 2020 hobbyists made to be different
interesting
for me kit=actual customs where you have to assemble everything and barebone=prebuilt without caps and switches
Ahh ok, I just wanted to make sure that I knew how to do it correctly before breaking anything, as I should be getting my stuff soon
It's all just semantics tbh
It really seems like it

I feel like barebone is a better term tho
Since “kit” implies it comes with everything you need, not just the board
barebones kit

Been using the Logitech G915 Tactile Lightspeed keyboard for about 2 years now and been loving it. Recently i saw that they came out with a new refresh the G915X Lightspeed.
Is there any other difference other than the USB C and less rattle with it? Just curious in case my keyboard broke down in 2 or 4 years time wether it's worth spending the extra buck for the new variant
or just stick to the old and reliable G915.
You should buy a realforce instead
Can you send a link. I will not buy a keyboard before i touch it with my own two hands. I like testing
Note: i want the tactile variant cause i hate linear switches
🤓
you're never gonna get anything exceptional if you rely on in store demos
atleast go to a meetup or something
My friends got some Steelseries keyboards and some Logitech. Nothing that cannot be tested in store tho.
Except one of em has a Sayo device which imo is a waste of money
That’s the only thing i’ve tried that is not testable in a store
To a degree
I can subjectively like clacky keyboards, but I cans subjectively make a hi75 more clacky than a lucky 65
Available in Norway?
just buy a realforce
petition to open a #kustoms channel
I'd prefer to build one custom, and I own a multi axis engraving machine so I'm debating on building my own case.
this channel is 80% shitpost and you're taking it straight to the heart
do you own cnc?

as upset as the new people get when people tell them to spend more on a board, the old people are just as annoyed about listening to the 50$ full alu he thocky keyboard build every day
I have a West Germany made pantagraph engraver. My grandfather was a world class British heavy equipment repair technician and often had to manufacture parts from scratch to repair massive equipment buildings were constructed around. lol
So it's old school and requires lots of math and mostly runs on custom dies to achieve a goal.
yes but does it cnc
Manual no computer, Pre computer
id rather not pay 5x the price for cnc work
I don't know how or why. Just took it out and found my boy like this.
cherry never do someone like that
Aww, poor little guy. Hopefully he had a long life leading upto the end.
comes down to convenience for personal use
i have a feeling it will not be viable but i mean prove me wrong
Surprisingly still works fine. Thank god I spilled water though, otherwise I'd of never found out...
not for others
More taking pride and enjoyment in the process for me. Not too often I use it anymore. But it was my father's he used it (and I) as a contractor for Hitachi mining equipment doing custom parts they couldn't make or order themselves because they just don't teach the old equipment anymore and in complex situations programming 50 separate operations on a CNC just isn't as cost effective as having someone who can do it all at once by hand versus multiple operations or even multiple setups and machines to CNC a part.
What do you guys think?
Subtle but yet seems to stand out in it's subtlety.
Nice 👍
Can I get a decent 75% wireless keyboard over 2.4ghz for like 30 in usd?
@crisp patrol can help u
yeah get a realforce

Other keyboards exist. AliE is just the only place I can find Chinese made stuff cheap without the x2 multiplier on the likes of Amazon. BudgetKeebs is a decent subreddit if you want to see what people are saying about a certain keyboard. There's also YouTube, which may be better to get an idea of the sound if that's a consideration.
you can also check chinese markets if you’re fine navigating through and buying through an agent, this way you may get them even cheaper than ali
Mxidnjine isn’t taken as seriously here
Anyone running the Logitech g915 keyboard? I have a like 5 year old g810 and kinda thinking of going wireless. 44% off on Amazon rn so contemplating
Alternatively, other wireless kb recs?
fax
I personally love mine. Been running it for 2 years. Idk if the new X variant is worth it since the old one is already so good.
The only downsides to going with the G915 original is Micro USB, slightly less durable keycaps and a tiny more rattle. Also it uses plastic that can get shiny over time but i ain’t complaining
Thank you!
